I never thought I would be saying this but I just ordered a bottle of Delina La Rosee. The first Delina that I ever smelled was the exclusif and I just didn't get the hype? Like my Lancome Roses Berberanza is wayyy better than this. But then I got a decant of the og Delina and it started to make sense to me. I understand somewhat. However I still went with the La Rosee flanker because I wanted a watery fresh rose to replace the og Chloe signature scent. I suppose there's a Delina for everyone?

This sounds nice - I love bergamot.

Today I sprayed (on a card) Tom Ford Bitter Peach. I LOVE it at first spray, but didn't try it on my skin. It's pointless anyway because I am not going to spend that much on a fragrance - if it became my new fave I wouldn't be willing to make that a regular purchase.
Also it's in this Private Blend range which people online say means it will only be available for a limited time. It is so beautiful though!

I'm frustrated because nothing is just right for me anymore. I didn't end up getting a full size yuzu cheesecake as I don't love it enough.
I'm finding that fragrances that really please me in a straightforward way become almost boring, but more niche fragrances that are challenging and edgy end up not hitting that comforting, satisfying note that I still want, or even become offputting.

I like Narciso Poudree a lot on the card but haven't tried it on my skin yet. It has the powder note I miss from a lot of fragrances but I'm predicting it will fade to a generic sweetness like almost everything else.

Bitter Peach has been around for a few years now and can be found on lots of discounter sites. I personally find Tom Ford prices to be ridiculous in regards to what you're actually getting. While many of the scents are somewhat unique the performance isn't worth the price tag. I feel the same about Chanel and Maison Margiela's Replica line. But if you really really love Bitter Peach then take a look at some of the dupe houses like Dua and Alexandria Fragrances.

Others I tried today were Nuit et Confidences by Goutal, Bois d'Amande by Van Cleef & Arpels, and Colonia Pura by Acqua di Parma...nothing excited me for longer than 10 minutes.

I found a dupe in-store at Eden Perfumes in London, which I've been meaning to visit for a while.

I love it so far. I bought 30ml this time in case I go off it but it's really nice on my skin.

I had my mom order me it for Christmas. :hyper:

...

My friend sent me a link to a Cher perfume sampler she wanted for Christmas and I saw this on the site while I was ordering it: Amazon.com : Sabrina Carpenter Sweet Tooth Eau De Parfum by Scent Beauty - Perfume for Women - 1 Fl Oz : Beauty & Personal Care (https://www.amazon.com/Sabrina-Carpenter-Sweet-Parfum-Beauty/dp/B0BBHF8RJ6/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8) and I love the bottle so much. I showed it to my friend and she loved the bottle as well, I have a feeling I'm going to be getting us each one for Christmas. I have no clue who Sabrina Carpenter is.

I did order the Sweet Tooths and I actually like the scent. Fragrantica describes it as a fruity floral and I get nothing fruity or floral from it. When I first sprayed it it just smelled like your typical vanilla/marshmallow/powdery scent but after it settled I smelled more chocolate/vanilla and I am liking it on me.

Currently wearing it, I definitely get smoky marshmallow. I've never been into gourmand scents for myself but I'm starting to really like marshmallowy ones now.

Also got this for myself for Christmas just because I loved the bottle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09RS3Z2MC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
and I'm actually really loving the scent. I don't even know how to describe it, it's like a warm, clean, unisex-type scent. Doesn't smell like anything else I have.

^I don't think I've tried a pistachio scent before. I love pistachios but can't imagine how a perfume might smell. Kind of creamy, earthy?

One of my favorite pistachio scent is Girl Of Now Shine by Ellie Saab. It's absolutely divine and smells mostly like upside down pineapple cake. To me the pistachio note reminds me of the sugared cherries between the pineapples.

Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 by Sol de Janeiro also has a pistachio note if you want to try that first. You can get it for around $25.

How much are you ladies influenced by the marketing of a fragrance either when making a decision to buy, or maybe less consciously, when deciding how you feel about a scent?

I find this really interesting. I generally attempt to ignore the marketing so as not to be seduced by anything other than the scent itself, but they are usually so enmeshed.

I think a big part of what makes us love a scent can often be nostalgia, romance, or wanting to buy into the image the brand is portraying.

Other than the simple single note type of fragrances, they all play on things like the bottle design, the name, the blurb explaining the inspiration behind the scent, or what feelings the maker is aiming to evoke or replicate.

When it comes to actual perfumes and not my b&bw stuff,I don't wear anything that's popular right now in department stores. I actually work part time in fragrance and see what's popular even though I work in men's I know what's popular for women too. I like a lot of indie brands too sure I like the main stream but won't wear what's popular at the moment. I hate smelling like everyone else. I wear a lot of men's stuff too.

I love marketing and creating campaigns for myself and other people. It's like my thing, but I've noticed that marketing surrounding fragrances have very little effect on me. I find them to be boring and obvious cash grabs. The most famous fragrance ads are mostly from designer labels who churn out flanker after flanker.

This past year the only campaigns that stood out to me was Good Fortune by Viktor & Rolf. That was because FKA TWIGS was the spokes person and the bottle was purple. However I knew better to rush to buy it. It's an okay fragrance but I have so many that are similar.

The other campaign was from Sokie London. I follow her on YT and have enjoyed watching her launch her very first fragrance. I don't always like the stuff she recommends but I find her impressive.

Other than that I mostly go off of how the scent makes me feel when I smell it. I create my own narrative.
