Hi, I had a question. This is actually my first post on SW. I've been on here for a while I guess, and was I suppose "trolling" gathering information for a few months before that even. I read on the application page that I need to be "active" on one of 3 sites (this being the only one I use). I was wondering if this disqualifies me from applying at this time, or if I can apply anyway. I'm a stay at home mom, so I am very active online. The only site I'm using as of current is MGF as I wanted to do more research on the different sites before creating accounts. Currently I'm awaiting approval from LJ. I'm skype friendly also.

If you meet all the other criteria mentioned (6 months as a cam girl, you have a website, use social media, etc) and you contribute to Stripperweb, you're welcome to sign up for a listing! I'd suggest going with MFC or SM over LJ, though.

Sorry for the thread-jack but Love its called "lurkng" not "trolling" I "lurked" for like a week just reading up on stuff before I actually joined - trolling is acting like ur still in grade school and you have no social tact and maturity

Ahh thanks for the correction. I have a tiny bit of tact :P And I read for a few months before I even joined a site. Then a few more months before I joined SW. Guess I was worried about people being "mean" to a newbie hah. And I had a lot of reading to do to make sure I didn't ask something that had already been answered...
Domino, I think I may wait a bit longer before joining. I'd rather join a few of the other cam sites first, that way when I do join, I'll be bringing more than just one or two people with me... lol. I want to feel like I'm contributing I guess. It just kind of feels different to me than just a "site to work at" because this one has a face and is ran by another cam girl.

Random addition to this thread, because it is worth noting, but doesn't deserve an entire thread...
If you are using CCBill, do not list "vore" as a fetish. I didn't even THINK about it, but it falls under "extreme violence/cannibalism" (I can see that) and violates terms of use. You just have to remove it, and away you go, but it knocked a few days onto my set up time, which is annoying.
Just an FYI!

FYI: Actually, I had a whole list of things as a "My Limits/ Things I Won't Do" on my listing and just because the words were there, it violated their terms of service and I had to remove. it.

If you specifically mention that you won't do it, it's not really a violation. They have filters in place that search for those terms, and if you mention them, it will block the page. But regardless, you still can't mention them if you want a working account. CCBill is starting to annoy me quite a bit. I'm seriously considering offering Zombaio as an alternative, but I know a lot of people have had problems with them, too.

Registration for the payment processor is closed again. I am having so many problems with CCBill getting new accounts set up correctly and efficiently that I do not have time to take on any more. I am literally on the phone with them every single day trying to fix 3 separate problems. I'm considering making the switch to Zombaio. I will keep you guys updated.

Ok Domino, I hate to put you on the spot but we ask this question in all threads about specific sites so I have to ask about yours too.
Is anybody generating income directly off DominosDamsels yet?
I havent put in a lot of effort there yet because it just didnt seem like there was a lot going on. Perhaps I'd redirect my focus but was just wondering if it's taken off yet. Thanks.

I make a fair amount off of it, but obviously, I probably put more time into promoting myself on there than anyone else just because it's my site. It's not meant to make you rich - it's basically just a place for you to sell Skype shows. The less you're signed in (and all that takes is going to the site, entering your login details, and periodically refreshing the page) the less likely you are to sell any shows from DD. If you're online, guys will see that, and they're more likely to message you because of it. There isn't really a whole lot of "effort" required other than that. Obviously, it's not like Streamate where you have to log in and turn your cam on.
As far as traffic goes, I don't get as much as Cam Model Directory. I try to focus on quality of girls rather than quantity, and the same goes for customers. A lot of the regular paying customers on DD are guys that are my regulars that I don't always have time to do shows for, either due to being sick constantly or too busy. Considering how many girls get timewasters and Paypal guys from CMD (not trying to knock it, Mark is awesome and he does a great job) I think that quality is way better than quantity. Would you rather have one or two paying customers from DD, or 15 guys (this is literally how many adds on Skype I get while I'm asleep) that want to pay you with Paypal?

@LilRedRidinGood
I've gotten a few shows via DD. The guys have all been polite, no arguments about price or anything else.
But its not SM I can just sit there and wait for the cash to roll in either ;p
@Domino
Once you get a payment system that isnt fighting you, I'll love to get a sub account signed um. (no hurry ^^ January or February are looking just fine lol)

Again, please, please, please make sure you enter a featured image when creating a post. Otherwise, there are ugly grey boxes on the homepage, and customers are a lot less likely to click on them. If I have time, I will enter a featured photo for you, but otherwise, they will be saved as drafts and the will not appear on the front page. Remember, posts are limited to one per day.

In terms of traffic, I would say that it is worth it if you are not listed elsewhere, or if you do not have a personal site.
I am a absolute brain-dead zombie when it comes to WP and website stuff, so it is taking me a while to figure out what is going on, but it is by FAR easier and looks WAAAAY more professional when guys say "how can I book a skype show" and I send them a link...suddenly there is this awesome site, they can click buttons to "buy now", it is suddenly much easier than trying to work out the payment details elsewhere.
Essentially - I think it is totally worth it to make money.

That's just how the theme is. It's a minor problem that I'm not really worried about at this time. If there is anything like this (bugs, errors, etc.) that you see in the future, please post it in the "Bugs" thread in the Help forum! Thanks for letting me know.

The forums on DominosDamsels.com are temporarily down. I'm working on a better solution for using forums because some site members are having trouble viewing certain topics. It should be fixed before anyone really notices.
Edit: I've done away with the external forums on Domino's Damsels. Forums within groups are still intact. In other words, verified models are still able to have private conversation and exchange tips in the "webcam models" group. You can still communicate with customers by creating public groups.
I have shared the help documents with all models via email. Hopefully, this is a temporary fix and I will find a way to integrate the documents within the site.

Some updates:
Domino's Damsels is now invite only. To get a listing on Domino's Damsels, you now need an active model currently listed on Domino's Damsels to vouch for you. All of the other prerequisites still apply; you need 6 months of camming experience, your own website, a membership on SW, and a Twitter/Tumblr/other social media account. Here's the reason: I've had several girls sign up, go through the verification process, create their page (and in past cases, their CCBill accounts), and they never sign in to fill out their profile. Then they get deleted, and I've just wasted a ton of my time. No thanks.
I did away with the forum entirely, sort of. There are still private forums within groups. It's a lot easier to use this way - no bugs.

Hey ladies - another new change!
I'm having trouble with posting ads on the homepage. Basically, when you click on the title of the ad, it takes you to the girl's profile instead of her actual ad. This isn't inherently a bad thing, because usually, there's more pertinent information on the main profile page versus the ad itself. Rather than spend time fixing something I'd eventually like to change anyway, I'm changing things up a bit now. I've been testing a new feature that will bring in some money that will help me keep the site running and worth my while.
Now, you guys have the option to pay $5 a month to be featured on the front page of Domino's Damsels and have your profile tweeted out to 100,000+ followers. I'm pretty lenient on the payment options - you guys don't have to pay via credit card if you don't want to. You may pay ahead for several months to hold your placement if you choose. You can use your excess Amazon gift cards, Sephora gift cards, VS, I don't care. Anywhere that I can reroute money that I would otherwise spend is cool with me. If it's easier for you to pay by credit card, money order, or Payoneer private load, that's totally fine.
Jaana has been testing the featured profile option for about two months now, and her page has consistently been in the top 3 most viewed profiles each month, along with the girls that promote their profile the most, myself included.
As far as the shows you guys have sold from Domino's Damsels, I can't really say - I have no way of tracking that other than the payment processor, which most girls don't use. I have had several of my regulars say they have purchased shows from y'all, and I know a few girls have spoken up and said they've sold shows via Domino's Damsels, too. If you have had success on DD, please let me know! I'm curious to see if it's worth keeping around!
So... to sum it up:
You can now purchase premium placement on the homepage of Domino's Damsels for $5 per month. Your ad will also be tweeted twice a day to an audience of 100,000+.
Payment Options:
Credit Card
Payoneer
Amazon eGiftcards
Sephora eGiftcards

Hey Ladies!
I posted this in the Webcam Models group on Domino's Damsels, but I know a lot of you may not check that regularly. I got an email from CCBill a few days ago saying that accounts that haven't been used in 6 months will be deactivated. If you have a subaccount through Domino's Damsels, make sure you're using it. Once you lose it, you are no longer eligible to sign up for a new account. Even a customer didn't find you on DD, you can still use the payment processor to process their paqyments.
I'm working on creating a better payment solution, because CCBill is a pain in the ass as far as sign ups, accepting Visa, etc.

Hey Domino!
I am thinking about signing up with you -- but I've actually only ever worked for big box sites before. Do you think that lack of knowledge is a deal-breaker to signing up?
I have always loved your posts here and I thought that it might be fun to go through the growing pains of learning indy with a site that had camgirls that were going through the growing pains of the site itself. ;)

True. In these last few days, every guy who's messaged me on Yahoo! or Skype has asked me to "turn on my cam real quick" or has asked to pay with PayPal, even when I've given them a few other payment options. And when I ask them "How did you find me?" (cuz I'm on a few different model directories), they just say "You did a show for my friend once." And they never tell me who this mysterious friend is.....

If I'm offline for five days, I will come back to 50+ Skype add requests, easily. Most of my bunk traffic comes from CMD. I have nothing but love for Mark, but most of the traffic to CMD is timewasters. I've had several paying customers, but ultimately, I'd say 85-95% of the traffic I get is timewasters. It's not the quantity of traffic - it's the quality. I get the same BS as you - "turn your cam on bb", "paypal, bb?" etc.

The guys who claim they want you to turn on your cam real quick to check your video...I'm curious what percentage of them are sincerely concerned about video quality, and what percentage is just trying to weasle their way into getting a free cam show? The one guy was so well-mannered when I refused to do a video call with him. I was expecting him to be a dick about it, but instead he was like "Okay, well thank you for your time." I kinda felt a little bad after that.
I'm gonna have to pull up all the indy camming threads again, but I know I read on here that some models actually do the few seconds Skype call thing. I think that instead of that I might just make a 10-second "Hey, I'm yummybrownfox, and I'm using a Logitech HD C910 cam right now!" video to put on all my indy profiles...just to help ease the mind of the guys who are genuinely paranoid about being scammed. But then, I'm sure there would be some guys trying to say "Well how do I know the girl on that video is you???" LOL...
domino.damoiselle
03-15-2013, 07:23 PM
I'd say probably at least 95% are scammers. The ones that are well-mannered sometimes are honestly concerned. Guys get scammed just as much as we do.
The things they're concerned about are:
1. Girls using fake pictures or looking completely different than in the photos.
2. Getting a looped video, not a real show.
3. Video/audio quality.
The first two happen a lot more than you'd think. They do have cause for concern, but the guys that are genuinely concerned about these things are few and far between.

I'm still looking for new girls to add to my site!
I am a stripper but I want to cam, Id be a newbie but Ive been doing my research so I think I could catch on fast, could I sign up? If so do I have to upload an id and give my birth name info and all that? I have an LLC and id prefer to do all business under that name and account, will that work?

You don't have to upload your ID or anything, but you do have to meet all the requirements listed on the site (http://dominosdamsels.com/want-a-listing/#before-you-may-join). Otherwise, it isn't fair to other models.

PSEUDORANT WARNING: There is a strong possibility that I will be shutting down Domino's Damsels. Or, more likely, not updating it any longer. It was a fun pet project, but it is simply not worth the amount of time I spend on it.
DISCLAIMER: I'm recovering from boob surgery, and am drugged on Valium and Oxy, and I probably will not be nearly as eloquent as I normally am (if I'm eloquent at all, normally, that's for y'all to decide).
Here's my reasoning for wanting to discontinue the site: I've spent a huge amount of time on Domino's Damsels. Literally, I dedicated at least a few hundred hours developing the site, creating profiles, setting up CCBill, setting up individual subaccounts, answering questions, etc. I've never made a dime off the site - on the contrary, I've spent a lot of my own money to provide a platform for my regular customers and legitimate, reputable webcam models to meet. The reason for this is that in the three years I've been doing this, I have more customers than I have availability for. I wanted to share the love. The site isn't perfect- in fact, far from it, but it obviously is not my first priority between being sick, being a mom, and having my own work to do.
Most models that have signed up for a CCBill subaccount have only used it a few times, not enough to make the minimum payout ($100, CCBill's rule, not mine). Then, I get asked to pay them out of my own pocket when they need the money. This puts me in a very difficult position. Additionally, it's not really fair to me, since I've already put the work in to get them the account in the first place, which is no easy feat with CCBill, as they are fantastically difficult to work with. Now, with the MC rule, I see no real reason to continue this service.
Thanks to all the ladies that participated over the last year and a half, I really appreciate you guys!
Mistress Anika

Its your site and inevitably your choice. I know your feeling shitty right now and that you've had a lot going on over the last few months, CCBILL's doushwazals signup process & new fees cant help & neither can the fact that camgirls are flakes. Lol most people would be ready to quite at this point too.
But think of all the hours you've already put into the project, the money invested is already eaten up. Closing the site wont bring the time or money, What you do have now is a pretty nice site and a few girls that are active, which will increase over time. As for making the site make money, because lets face it, if it dosnt produce income it can't exsit. Just look at pandora or facebook. Sure we wish all that shit was 100% free and ad-less but its not realistic. Step one change everyone streamate so you can make some affiliate dollars, second add affiliate code to everyone Amazon Wishlist.
I also think its beyond tacky for girls to ask you for money when they have not bothered to make payout. As with any new site sign up, there's a minimum payout. I've got a few dollars in sites all over the internet that I tired out, decided didn't work for me but I know better than to email those sites and ask for the dollars I have sitting there. Just because your a tangible (& Nice) person and not a big faceless website shouldn't make it different.
