For the last almost 2 years, against my better judgment, I have been a regular at SCs. I've experienced the highs and lows of developing a crush on two great ladies that was never to go anywhere besides the enjoyment of their company within the confines of the club.

One of them has now quit while the other has said she plans on going back to a regular job soon. It really was an accident that I met either of them in the first place. I never really planned on being their regular for this long.

But the end is nigh. I do not plan on keeping in touch with them once they leave, nor do I plan on expending the effort in seeking out another favourite ... unless by accident again, which is unlikely given I do not really want to patronize the club any longer.

I had some great times. I do regret a little of it but have experienced some amazing highs which will stay with me forever. The real world beckons ...

That was quite poignant. For some reason, the following song came to mind as I was reading it.

Patrick Swayze
She's Like the Wind Lyrics
[from Dirty Dancing Soundtrack ]

She's like the wind through my tree
She rides the night next to me
She leads me through moonlight
Only to burn me with the sun
She's taken my heart
But she doesn't know what she's done

Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind

[SOLO]

I look in the mirror and all I see
Is a young old man with only a dream
Am I just fooling myself
That she'll stop the pain
Living without her
I'd go insane

Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind

Feel your breath on my face
Your body close to me
Can't look in your eyes
You're out of my league
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)
She's like the wind
(Just a fool to believe)
Just a fool to believe
(She's like the wind)
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)
She's like the wind
(Just a fool to believe)
Just a fool to believe
She's like the wind

(Just a fool...)
(She's like the wind)
(She's like the wind)
(Just a fool...)
(She's like the wind)
(Just a fool...)

SO, we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
And the moon be still as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart must pause to breathe,
And love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returns too soon,
Yet we'll go no more a-roving
By the light of the moon.

-Lord Byron

No disrespect to the two previous posters but, given the thread title, how can you not go here?

MY WAY

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what i had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than i could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and i stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

Yes it was my way

Take your choice, The Chairman or The King, but i don't think SC disappointments are what inspired this song. LOL.
