View Full Version : Who and why have you been suspended on SM?

I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm amazed at how people find the time to do this. Are they just suspending you multiple times off the same screenshot? Or is someone seriously sitting in your room often enough to get one-second glimpses of stuff you don't mean to show? I mean, you said you got one overturned, but that leave three others. And you say you don't show nudity. So someone has to be seriously stalking your room.
Think about this Jess: you could take five screenshots from one session and spread them out over a five week period. The braintrust at SM obviously doesn't perform an investigation, so it is likely that they could be suspended five times from one "infraction."
Cam girls need to be united. HEALTHY competition is good for any business. It makes one step up their game that much more. UNHEALTHY competition will eventually ruin a business. Should the OBVIOUS rulebreakers suffer consequences? Absolutely. Should honest, hard working individuals be punished? No.
I hope the rats can sleep at night. NOBODY likes a rat. Ever see The Sopranos or Goodfellas? Do you know what THEY do to rats? A rat is a nasty disease spreading rodent that people exterminate.
Make your money girls and let the rats eat the crumbs. That is all they are good for.

Our first offense we were testing the waters with off cam teasing...... not allowed, even if the cam is above the waist line.... evidentally. They said we showed dick, but we kept the cam above his waist line the whole time. No screenshot proof was provided. Soooo not doin that anymore. Second one was a voyeur sleep show, didn't wake up fast enough for timer to reset and within 5 minutes of show ending we were reported and kicked from site.... i know this because i woke up 8 minutes after the timer and we were banned. We were both covered though as we were sleeping lmao. Seems ridiculous, but whatever, can't argue with support people.... third time they accused us of smoking weed...... we only smoke tobacco on cam... and even if we didn't, wtf....... what a reason to get someone banned.... cuz they smoked some weed.... that's freaking stupid......and plus any time people ask what we're smoking we flat out tell them it's not pot. Soooooo ya. and i explained the fourth. Seem like some bullshit to anyone else?

Hey all, whoever IGMATATS is, they kept popping in and out of my room, so I banned them. Better safe than sorry, right? ;)

Yeah, that sounds crazy. Also, it sounds like SM banned you specifically for doing a sleep show? I didn't know that was against the rules. Because if you were covered up, it shouldn't matter that you didn't wake up. Maybe they're trying to crack down on the sleep shows? Very weird.

Awesome. Yeah, just ban whoever it is. I mean, what is she going to do about it? If she complains to support, they'll probably just close her customer account.

Not sure what their deal was, didn't contact them over that one, we weren't working for the 24 hour period we were in "time out" anyways so i never did find out what the ban was specifically for.... either way i know i'm tired of the psychos causing me to be offline for a week over a half a nut or some other stupid accusation. WE MISS BEING ONLINE DANGIT!!!!

For causing distress to other "earners" should earn her a member AND performer ban. If SM closes a customer account, that IP address can no longer open an account.

I'm curious... Why do you all use SM then? It sounds terrible. I'm new at all this, but from what I can tell you are all located in the U.S. Is there really no better site for cam models in the U.S.?
(I'm considering starting camming but doing research first.) (I'm in the U.S.)

I live in Canada, and can't speak for anyone else; but I use SM because it offers weekly pay, and the most traffic/money for my time right now. (Although it does have its crap days).

Maryjayne is right. Traffic is high and you get weekly pay. Because of the traffic you have to deal with some lowlife type "customers." Worse than that though is a SELECT group of backstabbing, evil, lowlife, scumbag, disease having, ugly, skanky, heartless, brainless, ruthless, dirty, vomit inducing, sub crack whore, waste of good oxygen, talentless, gaping cunny, pure vile scum twats that call themsleves cam models. They gang up on others because they hate the FACT that they are losers and have AIDS because their dad/uncle/brother raped them and got them pregnant and kicked their stomach to give them an abortion.
That is how much hate they inspire in me. But I still make my money so fuck you skanks.
On a positive note, SM can be a great place to work. This thread was started to create awareness. I do not apologize for the long rant. This is what happens when you fuck with a person's money. I have the identity of THREE camgirls that fuck with other camgirls. PM me for info.
i keep seeing them pop in and out of my room too but too fast to where i can ban them ;p! makes me stress more than i should thinking i need to keep my finger over that ban hammer at all times. yes i can swing a ban hammer with just one finger, i work out

I love SM. It has downsides like anything else, but the pros outweigh the cons for me. This would be the first time anyone has ever been genuinely malicious towards me in the 7 months I have been camming, and to be honest, I am perplexed. I try to be super friendly to models, offer advice where it may be useful, and even tip the other girls that I know when I'm bored and creeping (granted my member name is anonymous so no one knows it's me, but you get the idea).
I'm not going to let one butthurt model ruin an entire camsite for me though. I'll do me, if she wants to waste time and lose money to be petty, then that's her problem. I'll be happy to entertain her regulars while she's out reporting girls for stupid shit.

Well, add me to the list of people who have been banned for something they didn't do. I haven't even cammed since Saturday and today (Tuesday) I got a notice I had been suspended for a day for giving out personal information. Er, I'm not sure how personal 'I live in California' and 'I have two children' is, but that's basically been the extent of anything I've ever said. I emailed them and told them they were wrong, lol. I'll probably get banned even longer for being a jerk.

I had some idiot in my room today saying "coming to MadisonQT's room. She's way better" Now we all know who is behind MadisonQT. So was it SM spamming my room? And yes I saw a girl yesterday fingering her vagina out in free chat. Udder bullshit. I dont get why its so hard for SM to do things right. They need to be consistent with their rules. I am so sorry this happened to you =(

I think I love you! LOL.
It's pathetic the lengths some cam girls will go to in an attempt to get money...such as the MFC models who go into other models' rooms to run their mouths.
The pop-in/pop-out members on SM are ridiculous, and I would ban them too. If you're gonna spend that much time in a model's room without ever speaking to her, why even bother logging into your member account when you can just perv as a guest? I just don't understand that...

I am on site since 2 years now and before gold shows came up i had a decent income weekly. When i tried gold shows i'll get alot of people insulting me big style, i felt cant be real members but other models/ their bosses trying to put me down so i'll stop doing gold shows. this is all about competition but god, there is no need to go in models rooms and insult them and jeopardize their business. in party chat mode all others in the room (invisible guests too) can read what is written so these people gave me hard times while i was trying to earn a living. after a while i'll just give up and get back to classic chat and having privates again. i am a curvy 37 yo woman, my figure can be considered not that attractive by some people, i was never very popular caming but i made some decent money over years (enough to live modest from it and raise my son). But it really hurts when i get time to time people in my room that will insult me and tell things like "u not going to make money from this, go get a job, go to gym, u ugly, fat" and so on. what a bunch of low life people doing this!
Still SM was best deal for me just lately my income simply dropped due to cheap gold show deals.

My husband and I just got our very first "Time-out". 24 hours on our couple's account.
Kicked in right in the middle of our best earning Gold Show yet! Really pissed us off!
The email they sent said it was because we broke the rule of "No vomiting"; which we did. Not going to lie here.
When we replied to the emailing stating that we couldn't find that anywhere in the rules they said "Anything that is abnormal is against the rules"
Not only is "abnormality" not listed as being against the rules anywhere that I can find, but it's such a broad statement that it just seems so damn unprofessional even if it was mentioned somewhere as an official rule! What's "abnormal" to one person, may not be to another and vice versa.
On that note...does anyone know anything about a user who's name is something like boo_boo and then some numbers I think?
We got very suspicious of him because we mentioned vomiting once and he suddenly started pushing it. He took us to exclusive, had me puke only once to "try" it because he said he didn't know how he felt about it yet then was like, "Alright. Yeah. idk" some sort of vague slightly indifferent comment like that...
He's been in a room a few times in the past few days and aside from being a little pushy we haven't thought much of him until this incident. We're wondering if he's actually a mod or if someone just happened to view us at the wrong time.

Sucks that they did that in the middle of a show. Dumb move on their part. But...
It's against your contract to do anything that is illegal where you're streaming from.
"Performer warrants that any content that Performer delivers via Streamates' computer systems will not violate any applicable laws, rules, regulations, or public policies that may govern the content so delivered."
A good guideline for determining what you should question is exactly what they said. They can't tell you exactly what you can't do because it varies from area to area. However, they will suspend you if you are reported for the following:
Nudity (below the waist) in free chat, sex acts in free chat, pooping, peeing, vomiting, bestiality, incest (some say it's blood relation only), underage roleplay, rape, blood....
I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
You also may not advertise your Twitter, your wishlists, or any other website where a customer can spend money or which redirects him to another website where he can spend money, including a personal webpage where you have other camsites listed, other camsites, Amazon, Paypal, Skype, etc.
It's entirely possible that you were reported BY someone. Most-likely a customer would not spend money on you just to report you though. If you got reported BY someone for that violation, it was probably someone who saw you talking about it in free chat. Also, it's possible that SM's system just picked up on the word that was typed, someone in CS checked it out, and you were suspended. Usually when you're reported BY someone, like another model, support will tell you that.
However, there have been a lot of couples suspended lately, from what I'm hearing, so I'd be very careful what you're even willing to talk about. If a customer asks for a show that violates SM's rules, I personally would ban him immediately and report him using the profile report (not sending an e-mail to them, that's probably overkill). It's totally up to you how you deal with these guys, but if you get suspended three times, they may delete your account.

Girls, if you get suspended on SM and they tell you it's because they have a screen shot of you doing such and such, ask for them to forward you the screen shot.
You'd be surprised how many times you click on a model's page and another model's name shows up at the top of the page while you're watching the live streaming video of another model. Support doesn't look into whether or not that's actually you. They just go by the name at the top.
My friend was suspended for nudity in free chat. Since she NEVER does anything against the site's rules, she knew something was wrong. When she contacted support and pressed them on the issue, it turned out that it was her name at the top but was another model who was streaming. It's just a glitch on the site. It happens all the time.

I've never been suspended but it's not due to being a vanilla cam girl. I think the trick is to never EVER discuss anything in free chat. I do taboo roleplay and I usually get asked "what's your fav rp? how naughty do you get?" I always answer by telling them we can discuss specifics in excl. If they are serious they'll go, otherwise, they were looking to get me in trouble or get off in free chat.
Some tips I've used to avoid getting in trouble: always tell them to contact through the site for email or to use the phone feature- if phone isn't working on the site too bad so sad no phone for you, ban anyone who asks about escorting, never type out any words such as yahoo, amazon, google, and never discuss earning percentage in free chat- including gold. Hope this helps!

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one to get banned. But it was my fault, I slipped up. :( Some dude e-mailed me on SM wanting to get to know me better and gave me his Skype and Yahoo e-mail addresses saying that I should add him on Skype. Instead of referring to Skype at "it" I said "I'll think about adding you on Skype". I'm used to being so free on MFC, but I think I'll put a little sticky on my laptop while I'm on SM to remind me not to mention other sites.
It's pretty sad that people out there have to be so malicious towards others. Like many of you have said, especially when it come down to their money. So there's people out there trying to get models accounts with SM terminated?!
I haven't banned anyone yet, but can you undo the ban? Can that person still send you SM e-mails? It would be nice if you can add someone to the ban list while you're offline.
Also, can members get in trouble for sharing their personal information/talk about other websites with the models? While in free chat, a custy from MFC made an account to see me on SM and referred to MFC as, "Other site we can't talk about"

You can un-ban anyone by going to the "black list" section and uncheck the ban from chat and or email box. You can only ban someone who is in your room- free chat or paid BUT if you want to ban someone such as someone abusing the 30 sec rule, you can click their name and hit ban, a box will pop asking if you want to ban this person.. if the guy jumps out before you hit "yes"- still click yes and click "yes" for the pop up regarding banning them from email too. He'll be banned from sending you messages only UNTIL you go into "black list" and check the box to ban him from entering your chat as well. Lengthy process but worth it to catch the creeps and crooks!
You can't get in trouble for guys talking or giving out their information in your room. You have no control over what they type but you have complete control over how you respond. I choose to ignore anyone who gives me their phone number or email address in my room or through email.
Cam_Model_Jess

No one reported you for that. SM's system screens e-mails. If you send a customer your e-mail address, mention Skype, etc. thru e-mail, the system flags your profile.
It's pretty sad that people out there have to be so malicious towards others. Like many of you have said, especially when it come down to their money. So there's people out there trying to get models accounts with SM terminated?!
Yes. You are someone's competition. Some people try to eliminate the competition by having them suspended.
I haven't banned anyone yet, but can you undo the ban? Can that person still send you SM e-mails? It would be nice if you can add someone to the ban list while you're offline.
Yes, you can undo the ban. You can choose whether or not they send you messages. There are two check boxes by each name on your "black list," one for messages and one for chat. Once a guy leaves your room, you can't go search him out on the site to ban him. You have to initiate the ban while he's still in your room.
Also, can members get in trouble for sharing their personal information/talk about other websites with the models? While in free chat, a custy from MFC made an account to see me on SM and referred to MFC as, "Other site we can't talk about"
It's unlikely that the customer will get in trouble. If you mention it, you might get in trouble.

Yep, very true. And very worth it.
Also, if you do this and you don't see the guy on your block list, it's because you pressed "yes" at the exact moment he jumped out. If you want to find him, click on the "Date Blocked" (it's underlined and in italics) on your block list. This will reorganize the customers by ban date. He will probably be listed under "Jan 1, 1970" It's weird I know, but it's like a glitch in the system that sends certain customers to that date.
Or, if you have a very short ban list, you can click on "Customer Name" and it will put them into alphabetical order.

We weren't aware that vomiting was an illegal sex act. Never heard anything like that before.
We always do our best not to break any rules and have even explained what the rules are to several viewers who claimed they straight up either didn't read them or weren't aware there were any rules we had to follow.
That said, after reading your reply, we're definitely going to start being more careful about things.

it's useful to do some reading, cause so many things are forbidden there, and on your own you would never think of those. Like I'd never do toilet stuff, but I can't for heaven's sake understand the problem with it. Like every single human being on the planet does it every day. Several times every day. It's normal, natural, noone is hurt. It's like eating or blowing your nose... Hell Europe is full of famous PEEING STATUES! And we CAN get banned for peeing on cam? o.O

They're so strict on Streamate, yet I'm constantly seeing top models taking their panties off in public chat (where you can clearly see bare ass) in anticipation for their GOLD show. They'll say "The show is starting in 60 seconds," and they'll jump the gun a bit and already be pulling off their panties...and bare ass will be in plain view. And some of them will even start fingering themselves while they're still in public chat.
Kinda strange considering that, back when I wasn't clear on the SM rules, I got suspended for flashing my ass for GOLD.

I wish they weren't so strict on SM, because I'm jotting down ideas for different ways I can utilize my big pink prize wheel. I originally got it just for MyFreeCams, but I wanna find other ways to use it for other sites like ImLive, AdultWork, and Streamate. :) But I wanna use it in a way that have me risking account suspension.

Last Saturday (Oct. 13) I was in free chat just talking to the guys working up to a private, when I get a message from "OnlineRep" which basically said that my profile pic will be cleared within 24 hours and that I would be contacted by a service rep about my termination for not following the rules and regulations. Well that scared the crap out of me. To be in the middle of talking to guys and get that message, so I ended the chat and got offline. I instantly got sick to my stomach just thinking what the hell I could have done to even get this. Not only that, I'm new to the site and really have only been doing this for about a month, so I'm still getting use to all the rules and regulations. So I'm trying to think what I did to break them. It's now Tuesday the 16th and I haven't heard anything more about it. I don't know how they contact you...? Either way, I'm waiting to see what I did.
How do they normally contact you about being suspended or terminated?
I'm so confused and scared to even attempt to do another show. I don't want to work and not get paid.

I have no doubt at all that this was just some guy messing with you.
If you have an issue with your account, they won't come into your chat room and tell you about it that way. Members are allowed to set their name to whatever they want, and so it's easy for anyone to claim to be an "OnlineRep". If you haven't heard from them through email or a message inside your account (such as a pop up or a red bar across the top with a message) then I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, that was a customer messing with you. What a loser he is. If you get suspended, on your main profile page it will show that you're in "time out" and for how long. As far as I know, they don't just cancel your account before suspending you unless you did something majorly horrible like child porn or bestiality etc. Otherwise, they just suspend you, they don't come talk to you about it. Some guy just wanted to scare you. Sorry, but there are some real losers on SM with nothing else to do but troll people.

Yeah, that was a customer messing with you. What a loser he is. If you get suspended, on your main profile page it will show that you're in "time out" and for how long. Lol thanks, yea that's pretty low. I feel dumb for falling for it, but now I know how it all works. Thank you girls! I truly appreciate it and I feel much better knowing I'm not being suspended or anything. I just know now I'm definitely going to be extra safe. Just so I don't fall into some losers trap again. :D Thank you again ladies!!
