I set up a legitimate savings account! Ever since I discovered money packs, saving money in cash stopped working because I would just run to the Walgreens and put my "saved" cash on my visa so I could shop online. Hopefully this savings account will help me get there faster! I need $2500 for tuition first though.
I really want to get As in these classes so my number one university will accept my application for transfer. I know it sounds silly, but prestige and location are so important to me and I absolutely need to get accepted here. I honestly don't know if I could be happy at my #2 and I don't have any #3s because that's how ridiculous I'm being. But it really is important to me.
How does that sound silly? Sounds like you are dedicated, which I massively respect!

New want - for Cyril and is fucking sock puppets to NEVER COME BACK ON THIS SITE EVER AGAIN. Which is, of course, by FAR the least realistic want in this entire thread.

Agreed!! I'm two days post-op for custom wavefront lasik and it's absolutely AMAZING...i see better now that what i did with my contacts, hell, after the procedure itself i was seeing better immediately. it's very freeing, being able to not worry about contacts/glasses/solution etc. :D

^How much did it cost? This is something I've been thinking about getting, but it's just expensive enough that I'm like "meh, I'd rather just deal with contacts."

It cost me 3300 total, and the meds were about 130 dollars without insurance (most places offer financing). The price included totally bladeless, custom wavefront lasik with free eye exams and touch-ups for life (so if my vision regresses, they fix it for free), it also included a free massage, 50% off sunglasses and teeth whitening (i have no idea how that relates to lasik but hey, i'm all for free stuff)
TBH, the procedure itself was extremely easy and I scared myself more than necessary (my consult took longer!), it's a feeling of weird pressure on your numbed eye (they numb you with eyedrops and give you valium and benadryl to make you very relaxed beforehand), then they move you under a different machine and you stare at some pretty lights (i felt like i was being abducted by aliens lol).

I've read too many stories of complications after lasik, which is why I'll never consider it. It'd be nice, but it seems too risky.

bladeless??? There is a lasik that doesn't involve cutting into your eye??? I want Lasik so bad (and charlie, the price is totally worth it! It's less than half the cost of a nose job!) but the idea of someone cutting my eye open scares me so much.
Bladeless is what sold me too lol, to put it in non-science terms they use a laser to make an eye flap then move the flap over and laser under the flap to fix your eye then smooth the flap back over.
I've had a rhino and this was 100x easier, faster, not painful at all and less recovery time. The only bad part was they made me wear my glasses only for two weeks and you can't wear eye makeup for about 4 days afterwards. The discomfort afterwards lasts just for a day and it's basically like having a torn contact. I was told to drive myself to my post-op the day after the procedure.
As for complications...I wasn't too worried, my doctor had excellent reviews and my vision was already terrible (ugh everything listed I already dealt with, it could only get better I was hoping). Plus they give touch-ups if necessary.

Ok...so they still make an incision...but (according to you), it's not painful or scary? I've been planning on getting Lasik for while. I may get it in November, when I'm getting my boob redo, rhino, and C02 Fraxel, but I may wait till January...thanks for the review, I feel much more comfortable about it now.
Yes, they have to make a flap so they can correct whats underneath. It's not painful because of the drugs and numbing eyedrops, but you do feel pressure for about two minutes. It's a very weird feeling but it's not painful. I was honestly really scared but after it was over I was like "oh thats it?", the actual correction part of the procedure is way easier than the flap making, you just stare at some lights while the doc holds your head lol.
Heres a decent article about the pros/cons and details of Lasik. Bladeless has less complications and can treat high prescriptions.

ahh, editing to say that this is the place I went to, the reviews on google really sold me too.

I had it Done in 2008 ..after carrying around a refferal for 10 years , so I didn't rush into it ..Lol Lol ..Simply INCREDIBLE , I had poor eyesight all my life , which affected all my sports ..Football / Surfing / Golf ..and everything else , Driving a car ..etc etc etc , you learn to deal with it . Now because of the Bangkok situation , Its Only about $1200 ( Aus$) there BOTH eyes , but I spent $5k ( in 2008 ) having both eyes done ... More of an Insurance issue and also because I was VERY nervous , they are world best practise in Bangkok now ..incredible surgeons , but you know the Safety of Australia ( Scared basically ) .
I had one bad eye ( my left ) which I believe was - 0.45 , I did this one first ( I had to do 2 trips ) ..and after the Surgery ( 10 mins ) I was in the " Cool down " Room and I could see clearly from this eye . THAT HAD NEVER HAPPENED . It felt sore , but kind of like you'd been punched in the eye . Next day , I was great ..Next week I wipped back and did the Good Eye .
After YEARS of fiddling with contacts and other stuff , and just basically not being able to see ..I could see perfectly .
I actually just changed my drivers license to .." No corrective lenses needed " after EASILY passing the eyetest . Based on my experience I encourage ALL who are considering the procedure to GO FOR IT . Simply one of the best things Ive ever done .
GOOD LUCK TO ALL ..ask me anything about it .

Dude. My mom freaked out getting a second hole in her ears and SHE was still able to get this done. lol It's totally not a big deal at all. Just expensive.
Im not going to Bullshit you and say its NOT scarey , It is . And its natural to feel some anxiety ..BUT , its quick , the computer talks to you the Whole time 25 % complete ..57 % Complete , and I found that a real compfort . Then in a matter of minutes its all over , you feel some discompfort ..But then , THE END RESULT , WOW !! You just need some rest , and take it easy ..Then you can SEE , pretty much perfectly . Its really Incredible , just incredible that they can Do it . I had waited for over 10 years , so I didn't rush in ..lol ..lol .

Sammii ...... I encourage you ..NOT to listen to me , but to investigate further . Speaking Personally ..Best money I ever SPENT , simply incredible , and It was 5k HERE .
I lost a LOT of money around the time of the GFC , but this promise I had made to myself . I got rid of the European Cars , Paid dowm the Mortgage , purchased a New IMPORTED car , and went and got my eyes done . IT WAS AWESOME . Talk to a doctor involved ..they did Tiger Woods , now that would have been a Law Suit if they F*cked THAT one !

My bf had it and his went fine, but I'm still not interested in lasik. I'll probably save the money it would cost and spend it on a nose job.
