Scary! Poor girls.......

You can't trust customers, it's too risky. I've been followed home several times and have had to call the cops, one car I kept trying to keep turning and taking several crazy routes and they still kept riding my ass.....creepy!!

I always keep a knife, taser, pepper spray and cell phone close on me!!!

Just a reminder to please be careful.

Someone tried to kidnap a non-dancer friend of mine in front of her home in the quarter a few weeks ago, but she was able to get away. They didn't catch the guy, but they traced the car he got into to a registered sex offender who is currently wanted for questioning and violating his parole.

She looks almost identical to all the other missing girls, cute, petite and blonde.

BE CAREFUL AND GOOD LUCK!!!

thank you. i think it is horseshit that they wont post the name of hte sex offender whose car was involved. and that it took them ONE HOUR to respond to a kidnapping call because htey were arguing over districts. fucking pigs.

I know about Jaren Lockhart who was the dancer from Temptations. Mickey Shunick, a college student in Lafayette Louisiana was reported missing but has not been found. There was also Nicole Jefferson from Mandeville, whose body was found along Interstate 12 last month. The last two are not dancers. The abductions and killings may have been done by one person or they may be unrelated. Please post the links to the other missing dancers when you can. I couldn't find any info on any other missing dancers besides Jaren.

Mickey wasn't a dancer but she has been found and her killer has been sentenced now. He's in Angola now.

I knew Mickey's killer had been caught but wanted to read the details.

This chick was SO badass! You all need to read this. If I was kidnapped by a sex offender and ended up dying, I couldn't ask for a better way to die than fighting him and almost winning. I wish she had won though :( Rest in peace Mickey Shunick

sad to hear about this. this makes me very worried about walking home at night. i don't drive, and i have to take the bus.. the bus stop is almost a mile away from the club so i'd have to take a taxi to the stop in order to be 'safe'. and then i'm just worried about weirdos stalking me while i wait for the bus :/ this problem might keep me from dancing .. where this is, is a nice area in NJ but u never know .. it might just make sense to take a cab into the city and BS until daylight ><

and if i work in the city (NY), i have to walk around the subways with $$ on me late at night. :/

thanks for this though, as it got me seriously thinking about what i need to do to protect myself on the way home

Another dancer is missing in New Orleans. Jessica Pratt went down there on Feb 6 to work. She met up with friends who left the same day. On Friday she paid for a room at a motel on Tulane Avenue. They think she went to a bar across the street from the motel on Saturday.

Some of her family are in New Orleans, and they are worried sick. Please take a look and let them know if you have any information. Thank you.

I was just about to post about her. I sent a txt to a friend about it and he asked me if I had heard about another woman who went missing around the same time. Goes by the name Angela Melancon. She may have been trans, I don't know any details or descriptions but update if you hear any info on that name

Also, another friend in the biz is wondering if this isn't a runaway case (Jessica Pratt) due to her fb account having been deactivated....that takes 15 days to go into effect. It seems either really strange (as in she deleted it to cut off contact) or is totally unrelated...

When I worked at Rick's Cabaret in NYC the managers said that their second most profitable club (after NYC) was in New Orleans. Rick's can be annoying, but they are very corporate and safe without allowing any funny business.

The ricks in new orleans is not a corporate club! The gm at nola told me this as I work at the one in New york too. The sign is completely different. They are not affiliated.

In this business, you shouldn't trust anyone. You never know what's going through someone's head. As females we have a very strong intuition so never ever ignore it!!! The last club I was working in was extremely shady. I even had recurring dreams 3 nights straight of having my drink spiked. After that, I never went back. Obviously it was a warning from my guides that someone had wicked intentions and I'm pretty sure it was amongst the male staff. I always felt a funny vibe about certain workers and I know they knew I didn't trust them and looked right through them as well.

So ladies, never ever get too comfortable and trust anyone in this lifestyle!

Surprised this wasn't mentioned but also in NoLa a few years back, there was a dancer who convinced some of her friends to come home with her for a 3some with her and her boyfriend. She worked at the Artist Cafe, don't know if any of the girls she brought home were co-workers as she met up with them at other bars. But they killed and dismembered at least 3 girls before they were caught. She's already out of jail and there's not much published about him for being a serial killer.

Ladies situations like this is why I beg all of you to check out the Personal Safety info on this forum and elsewhere. Aside from the cops having the same crummy attitude about these kinds of crimes, a lot of sexually violent predators are so sneaky that it's not as if police presence would deter them from doing what they do.

IF you can find it on Netflix, the "Gangland" episode that covers post-Katrina NOLA is good to watch. It is mostly about gang turf wars but also explains a bit about the mix of people in NOLA now.

Honestly a lot of random people have been violently mugged/killed in NOLA since the city started re-building. Just saying. Everyone there should be careful

That's so scary.. I haven't started dancing yet because I'm trying to absorb all of the info on here they give because of situations like this. It's disturbing to think one of your forms of protection at your workplace could be the very danger your trying to steer clear of.

I'm gonna update this thread with something kinda useful -- sorry it took me this long to mention this to y'all. I been dealing with a lot of trauma and been mostly too terrified to mention anything online.

December 2017, right before Christmas, I was violently attacked in the bywater. I was on my bike, a middle aged black dude about 275 lbs in a red sedan pulled up with his lights off. I was on the 800 block of Bartholomew street. He waited till I was in a spot where a big wall was on the left and a bunch of cars were parked on that side before the corner. On the other side there was construction (which I imagine is probably completed) and only a couple houses. The dude rolled up with his lights off, in his red sedan, asked me if I was looking for a date, then he quickly blocked me in between the cars the wall and his car -- in a triangle of doom. He got out, smashed me in the knee, drug me through the street and tried to put me in his trunk. Some kids who either just moved to town or were renting an airbnb came out when they heard the noise. I'm convinced that if they had not come out I would have been kidnapped that night. The dude got panicked at witnesses, took my purse, smashed my glasses and drove off. I was just glad he didn't kill me or capture me. I didn't call the cops.

that jazz fest I saw the dude who tried to kidnap me at the country club. he asked me if I was a dancer. I scowled at him, not recognizing him at that point. He asked the guy I was there with (who was in the jacuzzii while I was in the pool) if he was 'looking for a date' and told him he had 'lots of girls.'

IF ANYONE IS MISSING A WOMAN IN NEW ORLEANS I can identify this man and will if it will help someone who may have been taken by him.

July 2017 I was teaching private yoga lessons out of one side of my double (the top floor of a fourplex) and made a bad choice to have a sexy time with a professional MMA fighter who came to see me for yoga lessons. We only spent one day together but that night at 3am he was in the street screaming out the name I gave him, trying to get me to come outside. I ignored his screams and his calls, he eventually went away. about a month later I went traveling and didn't think of him again until Mardi Gras when my downstairs neighbor alerted me to the presence of a creepy dude he thought was with me. He pointed out his vechicle and told me he had been sitting in front of the house every day for the whole month of mardi gras. I was really concerned that I had not noticed him, but mardi gras is a time filled with people, of course I didn't see him down there peeking in my windows. He kept showing up like it was his job to watch me. I started avoiding the windows, I started sleeping with a loaded shotgun, I distributed flyers with his photos, his name and address (where he lives with his mother), photos of his license plate and details of his stalking me -- I distributed them to every organization who had advertised a mission to help women in new orleans. I called my lawyer, I talked to the cops (they told me 'its not against the law to park your car on the street'), I emailed sw rights groups, I tried to get a restraining order but given that he didn't even know any of my names the restraining order folks told me not to give him all my legal info -- it was better to move. Eventually I called my parents and told them what was going on. Thankfully my somewhat estranged family gives enough of a fuck about me to put me and my cat on a plane and give us a place to stay till I couldn't stand it anymore and went home. By that point I was months behind in my rent, the downstairs apartment had been turned into an airbnb and even though the stalker was gone I eventually had to move out.

Many of my bouncer friends had offered to beat the dude up with a bat, to deal with things in a typical nola fashion. There are videos on youtube of this MMA fighter beating people into unconsciousness with his hands covered in blood. I was not gonna let any of my friends go out there with a bat. My lawyer told me he knew a dirty cop but that the cop could only do something with a restraining order. Basically I was totally fucked. I tried to get out of the sex industry, teach yoga -- seemed like a good plan. Only then did a crazy killing machine scare my bad motherfuckingself into moving. But I didn't move into a differnt house. I got rid of everything I own and left. at the time it seemed like a good idea -- but my lupus is flaring up, I'm traveling with my life in a suitcase, my cat is still at my fathers house, and I miss new orleans. Fuck that fucking stalker. At least I'm alive.

Not dead, not captured.

I know all the legal details about the MMA stalker. If any of you should encounter him, run fast. He is very dangerous.

All that said, be really careful ladies. carry a weapon always. don't let dudes know where ya live.

If any of you need more information about either the dude who attacked me and tried to kidnap me (I am certain he has kidnapped other women and probably has a forced lockdown brothel somewhere in the new orleans area), or the crazy MMA fighter who sat in front of my house for over a month, scaring me and my neighbors. send me a PM. I will do what I can to help.

Again, I am sorry it took me this long to post this. I'm only now starting to feel safe enough to come out of my hiding spot.

Christmas is coming, it is a time of increased crime in new orleans. Be vigilant. Don't get killed or captured.
