I bought this computer with my very limited computer knowledge and am really not sure what the specs on it mean even, I think I did ok based on the quad core i7 but after that I am lost.
Can anyone tell me if I should be ok splitting a few sites with this laptop?
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/419357/Toshiba-Satellite-S55-A5294-Laptop-Computer/
My upload speed is almost 7 and am thinking of upgrading to the next package with 10 up at some point.
I've had a laptop with slightly better specs, and it could comfortably run SM (w/FMLE) and 2 other sites at a time. If you're already signed up to multiple sites, you could always test it out and see how it goes. Open one site at a time, and watch your CPU and memory % on your Task Manager. You must actually be streaming on all the sites, because otherwise your numbers will be lower than they should be.

Very useful thread to someone who hasn't used splitcam before.
Like the original posted of this thread I would like to split between adultwork and stream mate. I've brought the verysoft software but having a couple of issues...
The first one being probably a simple thing but the text overlay feature, very useful I can edit the text move it around the screen etc but is there something else I have to press to make it 'stick' to the page? It's not showing up on my output feed every time it dissapears?!
Also, I use the streamate encoder to work on the site. However, every time I load the encoder it doesn't seem to pick up the verysoft software video. Most annoying, is there any way around this?
Many thanks ladies :)

This text overlay thing on verysoft software, I feel like I'm missing a very simple thing here and yet I can't seem to figure it out, it's so frustrating!!!! Grrr haha

Try turning your VerySoft on, open your output settings, and then right click on your stream. Look down the menu and find the "text overlay" section. See if the item "suppress in camera" is checked. If so, your viewers won't see the text. Uncheck it, and they will!
As a bonus tip, "suppress in snapshot" means that the text is hidden if you use VS for still photos. Check it to hide the text, uncheck to show the text. Showing it is great if you want an instant watermark, and suppressing it is good if you'd rather watermark by hand in your photo editing program.

I've managed to work out how to get the splitcam showing on Streamate but only through using the browser instead of the encoder separate programme thing.
Is this the only way to splitcam on streamate? If so, will I still be streaming in HD? Worried about my placement on the site is all.

I couldn't get the SM Broadcaster to split. It didn't offer my splitter as a camera option. I was able to do it with the Adobe Encoder. You just choose your splitcam (Verysoft, Manycam, etc.) instead of your camera (C920 or whatever you have)
I wish that I could get the SM Broadcast to split. It would be easier for me. If you're not using the Adobe Encoder or SM Broadcast, I believe your placement suffers.
I'm just trying to get the hang of splitting myself. Hope this helps.

Has anyone any experience in using manycams built in encoder server?
I gave cams a go tonight and rather than use the flme I connected the ftmp settings to each of the sites. the site with a million whitelabels worked perfect picture wise but the sound was out of sync. And cams had perfect sound but really bad picture.
I was using 192k for sound and 2500 video. is it just better to use a flme for both rather than the actual streaming software inside manycam? I only tried it this way as its 20% cpu total for both sites.
If I use 2 camera everything is in HD fine. 2000 on aite with a million whitelabels and 1000 on cams. This was 45% cpu. the c310 in warm blub light is not great. But if I can work out the setting then 720p has to be possible on both sites.
Also one last question. Does anyone use the background settings? Had a play with it and had a tropical island background i guess this is green screen zone. Lol.
Do cam site allow this functionality?
Many thanks x

Just a heads up for anyone using anyone trying to use any split cam software in IE 11 with the Windows 10 Anniversary update. They don't work on multiple sites using IE 11. I've tried VerySoft splitter and ManyCam.
It's a windows issue. You can use Chrome or Firefox. You'll find if you split to multiple sites (I do 4 at once) in Chrome you use a lot less system resources (CPU usage) than if you use Firefox.
If you insist on using IE 11, then don't update Windows 10 to Anniversary update until they fix it.

What if you use an older version of IE? The reason why I suggest this is because I've run into audio issues if I split too many sites in the same browser. I like to have one in Fox, one in IE11 and then one in chrome. Lately I'm only splitting two sites at a time. But I may experiment with a third in IE to see whats what.
I know that I changed my settings to not do that update, but it happened anyway about a week ago while I was sleeping. Honestly it hasn't been that bad.

"it hasn't been that bad"
Isn't that the truth? With Windows it's a always matter of degrees of bad LOL. I've had a few computers that updated with no drama, but nightmares with others. I had to solve the issue on the work computer now because you can defer the update, but eventually you'll be forced to accept it.
I'd say it's pretty bad when split cam software stops working in IE 11 (and Edge browser too according to ManyCam support). I've tried it with ManyCam and Verysoft. I contacted the support for ManyCam and they told me to use Chrome or Firefox. I was only using IE 11 last week before I updated Windows 10 to the Anniversary Edition.
Anyway, there was good side to this story. I split to 4 sites using browsers (and another with encoder). I used to do it your way i.e. some with IE and some with Chrome (I keep Firefox as a backup in case of problems). When I switched the 4 sites all to Chrome I found the system resources (CPU usage) went down by about 20% on average. This is probably because the flash player is integrated with Chrome rather than using a plugin as it does with IE and Firefox.
I should mention, you can still split using IE 11, but for only one site.
Hopefully soon Microsoft (and the split cam software developers) will resolve this issue and we can forget this conversation :)
PS. Forgot to mention. If you've updated Windows 10 to the Anniversary Edition I don't think they'll be an option to use an older IE as the new IE update comes bundled with the Windows 10. It's probably more a Windows 10 issue than IE 11.

Verysoft and the flme adobe. Download the profile from streamte. If you can get 3.2 direct from Adobe. Streamate only offers 3.1. Also you cant split cam with smbroadcast. as long as you have 2100kbps or 2mbps to spare you should be golden. If your worried about rank change the bitrate to 3000kbps on the video. Your streaming a very high quality 720p then

I need to lump my fat arse on adultwork I have no UK following yet. But justcamit only needs 800kbps so does mfc. I get a fair volume of privates on there. The flme should be fine on a quadcore :-) the smbroadcast might bog it down to try and stop you split camming. Use the browser based mfc. As you will be running 2 encoders with flme and justcamit. Just monitor the cpu useage. 70-80% is high but doable above that your vurning the cpu out. Hope it goes well hunny

It doesnt require lots of cpu power. Manycams is more a webcam broadcast studio but verysoft is just splitting software.

I am trying to splitcam a few sites with 2 c920s on the same computer. 1 c920 will be dedicated solely to SMbroadcast, the other 1 with verysoft camsplitter across a few sites. I am having an issue getting the webcam used on SMBroadcast to zoom in and out? Can someone tell me what is going on with that?
The webcam used with the camsplitter I seem to be able to zoom in and out, but I can't seem to adjust brightness. The SMB one I can do brightness but not zoom.... help!?!??!?
edit: forgot to mention with the logitech webcam software I can't seem to easily switch between which camera I am adjusting. It is very glitchy.

Ok that was helpful- another stupid question how the hell do i have 2 of those up at the same time instead of 1? Like 2 of the quick capture controls... x_x jesus I am already getting a headache
or do i have to keep switching that? edit: won't let me switch or open 2nd window idk wtf i am doing
another edit: mkay i guess the quick capture controls can zoom my SMB and the cute little controls zoom the camsplitter... still can't adjust the brightness/contract etc on the camsplitter one but F it I am done for the night!! Goodnight and thank you for saving me!

You have to keep switching them. the controller in the software has a drop down box. Its why I use that. To stop messing about I just pop a wet wipe over the streamate one. Drives the freeloaders nuts as they can hear but not see

Hello!:
I have been splitting between two sites, two rooms in one site opened at same time (different categories) and other different site, all them in just paid videos, not free chat. Until now, I did it just opening different tabs on my computer and it worked, but I think that, if I use a splitter, would be better.
My internet connection is 5.14 mb/s upload and 46 mb/s download and my computer is an I5 3570
Any advices about and how I should make it or add a third site?. If I have two rooms in same site opened at same time, they count as one site each?
I close the other rooms when I have a video in one, but still I am not sure if I am doing this thing correctly, any advices?. Thank you in advance

To be clear are you saying that you have two different accounts on one site? I'm not sure why you would need two browsers open if its the same site? I know that Ifriends will allow you to have multiple profiles but I don't think you need to broadcast separately. I find it easiest for me to use verysoft webcamsplitter $20 to splitcam. But sometimes I use more than one camera if a specific site is glitching a lot. This tends to effect your stream if one site is having issues. You can start at the beginning of this thread and lots of different scenarios on how to splitcam.

Yes, I have two different accounts in the same site, it is allowed by the site's rules (different categories) and then I am online in other different site. I mean that I can be online on the two accounts of the same site and in the other different site, using different windows of the same browser.
I have read the whole post, but kinda difficult for me to understand certain terms about splitting and the use of the computer and cam, as until now, I just opened chrome, three windows on it, and in each one I opened one room (two rooms of the same site and another room in another site).

Okay....so the one site that allows you to have two different categories requires you to have two different streams going at the same time?
That right there can take up a lot of your resources on your pc. And on top of this you running an additional broadcaster/encoder from a second site?
The next time you stream on that I5 please take a look at your "task manager" (http://pc.net/helpcenter/answers/reduce_high_cpu_usage) and let us know what the cpu percentage is. What operating system are you using on that I5 would help troubleshoot as well.
From the intel site thats a quad core processor with very high speeds. So you may be able to run a third site with your set up. Also the graphic card comes into play. The recommended graphic card was an Intel Graphics 2500. It wont be able to handle anything stronger.

Alright I think you may be able to add a third site with this but you may need to upgrade your internet. I like to tell people who want to get into splitcamming to have at least an upload speed of 10 mbps. Higher if you can swing it. It sounds like you have a very good set up. But now we just need to figure out how to use your resources effectively. It's tricky because it varies from one set up to the next. I'm still stuck on working one site and streaming from two different accounts? If its making you money then sure do it, but if its just sucking up your pcu why not just run one stream on that site and then run a second stream on a different site? Instead of two streams on the same site? Even if you have a mild vanilla persona for one character and then a fetish persona the traffic is the same. Its the same guys. Some are more specific on what they want but they all shop around. You may be doing too much

Yes, that is something that bugs me too, and wonder If I should keep the two rooms, one is non adult, and other is adult. I keep the non adult because some guys only chatting but dont know what to do about it, it gives me money, but maybe I should give a try to only open one room and lets see what happens. I am a big mess right now. Just I purchased verisoft splitcam and noticed I look uglier in cam using it, hahaha.

Hi I currently cam off two sites using two webcams and its using around 50 percent of my cpu. I am thinking to add another 3 sites to cam at once from (all private based sites) I am thinking to start using split cam for this and buy another monitor so I can have all my tabs open. I am wondering if my laptop can keep up and if I use just one webcam and use split cam will this reduce the cpu usage down?
Spec for laptop is the exact spec needed for streamate as when I first started out I took the spec written in the manual to pc world and got the exact one I need.

^What sites are you doing now, and which 3 are you thinking of adding?
Some sites use a ton of CPU, and others are much more "lightweight." If you're at 50% with (for example) SM and Cams, both using an encoder, you might be able to add 3 low CPU sites. If you're at 50% with (for example) Ifriends and AW, you're really limited in what else you can add to the mix.

I'm guessing you could add IF or IML, but adding both might be pushing it. But it's not impossible, and you won't know until you try - maybe add one or the other and see how it looks.
I think using a different cam for each site is a bit excessive though. If you want to use the SMB, you need to give SM it's own cam. The rest of the sites can all use the same one. VerySoft uses almost no CPU, and will make your life much easier.
