View Full Version : Renting an Office for Camming

So I am relocating and will be staying with family until I figure everything out. I am beginning to get anxiety about not being able to cam (it is 100% not happening at grandmas house, not an option).
I have found 3 offices that look like very good options, under $300 per month, one was cement walls, internet included and month to month. I cam about 4 days a week and I have also found an Extended stay for about $50 a night give or take, so my 4 days would be $800 a month.
Perhaps the Extended stay is a very temp option until I find an office and until I find a perm. home and I NEED 24 hr access.
Questions to you is
1. Have you cammed from an Extended stay and will the internet handle the Encoder? I am worried about privacy, but what can I do?
2. If you have rented and office, what did say you do as I know they need to know what is going to go on in their property. I mean, sure I can say art studio, but what art studio has a bed in it? I was thinking of saying boudoir studio. What are your thoughts on this? Do I just not put a bed int here and change my cam style?
I feel like my head is cloudy and may ot be thinking straight so your thoughts and ideas are very valuable to me dears. I am not comfortable with strangers so renting someones room doesn't to be a suitable option. Unless you are a sex worker, should I put up an ad? This is for the Denver area.
Thanks luvs,
Jack

I know many cam friends who simply did rent a studio apartament in the promximity of their home. It's the best way. Renting a room in a house, or pairing with someone (unless it's a trusted cam friend) won't work.
And it doesn't even have to be something too expensive, since, with a bucket of paint, a nice carpet on the floor and some nice curtains, you can make it the perfect cam space in the cheapest rental:)))
I am personally waiting for my neighbor to rent his apartament. I don't have any space left, since my bf is also working from home now and we are a little crowded. Ok, not gonna lie, i have been lacking space from a while, since i also shoot clips, i started to have lots of outfits and i don't have any storage space left, etc. That apartament is a fucking ruin, my neighbour didn't bother to invest in it, but i don't care, i'll do what i said above (paint the walls, buy a nice carpet, buy a nice couch, etc). And the furniture I buy, it's obviously coming with me when i leave.
I will start building my dream home sometimes next year and I will build plenty of cam space, but it's gonna take me a couple years at least, so... I desperately need to rent something meanwhile.

Well, 1st off, I have issues w/renting, hence why I live where I do..
I can cam here. I most likely won't (there's reasons I'm not explaining).
I was just talking to an acquaintance about renting an office.
I know renting an office's less than an apt.
I also know I can't stay in there, all the time
But I thought it would give me somewhere to go, at least some of the time.
The person I mentioned was considering this, but they're still working in ther
I saw this one, it had 24hr access, garage parking, & a health club included.
I don't know how their leasing/?'s work, (rereading this thread to see).
I sure would NOT pay for my place now, and an office, no

I rented an office back when I 1st posted this, it was a disaster and after the 1st week I was outta there.
I told them I was an exec. assistant for a speaker who is focused on ethical hacking and thus needed a secure location
I do not use a VPN because when I cam, it is on SM and that I heard was a no-no
I rented furnished studios, and it was better than an office or a roomie situation. However, the sound proofing is a big issue even with a studio.

I tried actually living in a small office a few years ago bc i was homeless & it wouldve worked for cam if the nosy ass lady hadnt caught me sleeping in there. I almost feel like offices are just as bad as renting a room in a house & other ppl are gonna be all up in your business.

OK, I hope it's ok to post this..
I rent a room in a house, right behind me is a small house, used to be garage, w/toilet, kitchen, etc.
It has to be rented only as an office now, due to some zoning crap..used to be lived in.
Anyway, it might be good for me to cam from there, + I could use the room for storage, (I rent outside storage) I'm thinking of asking prop Mgr, it's sitting there empty..
He'd have to turn on wifi there too.
If it's cheap, maybe?
Filthy AF in there tho.. Has tb cleaned, good!
Opinions Please?
No one would bother me, I cam in my room, w/vpn
I would try to get it for around 200. a month, office spaces do run cheaper
Thank you!

What about the nosy ass roomies you live with? They wouldn't be trying to poke around while you're camming in there? I'd feel safer in my room honestly if I were you. I'd be afraid of them peering thru windows, etc. Just my 2 cents.

Nah, I'd keep it locked, there's blinds on windows..
They really don't bother me, just their nastiness in the house kitchen where we live..

It really sounds like a better use of your money would be to save that cash until you can move out completely to a place without roommates. Even look in other states. Lots of places have super low rent and low crime rates. (Might be a bit boring but with the money you save you can travel have fun and have a safe home base to come back to). My cousin moved to a smaller town in Iowa that's a short drive to a major city there and loves it, so much cheaper and way less crime to worry about.
A couple years ago I also moved to a town with way lower living expenses, bought a foreclosure fixer upper house and my payments were way lower than I would even have paid for renting a cheap place. (Lots of repairs I've had to do but it's very satisfying watching my place get nicer as time goes on and love having a place that's mine).

Yeah, you're right, Laurie..
I was kinda checking out homes (big dreams lol)
I saw a few little starter homes further out starting in the $70,000 range, I was looking at a mobile home where I own the land its on, you do deal w/homeowners association tho :(
but further out in my state, IL before I'd make a big jump to another state, I actually considered IA, my former roomie lived & worked there for a year, he said the jobs pay about the same, but cost of living 's cheaper.

That's fucking AWESOME laurie! ^
The foreclosures here, you're not allowed inside, you have to buy as is w/o looking inside..
They even had a 'adverse' situation home, a person was living there that required evicting?
You weren't allowed to go in there at all, & have to deal w/evicting after buying (a long process in my state!)

Sounds like you'll need to look in another state when ready to buy. I only looked at unoccupied properties that were already vacant and bank-owned. It was not easy by any means, took me over a year to find one!
In the meantime though maybe consider moving to a less expensive and safer area so you can rent a place to yourself. It really took me some looking to find a low crime area and it's a pain to move to another state, but well worth the trouble! It's so peaceful living alone and being able to cam any time without worrying about nosy roommates.

I'm told a lot of lawyers (in my state) buy foreclosures, they're usually cash only, & other stipulations.
I don't really worry about the roomies, other than they're Pigs, & have just about every usable square inch in the kitchen ::)..
I keep a fan on, I've a white noise machine, my ac which I'm currently running is loud. I stay away from them, I have a separate entrance too.

My 2 cents, as someone that rented a separate space for camming (I wrote about it here https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?167923-Camroom-Decor&p=3250383&viewfull=1#post3250383 and also above, on this page, I see a post of mine from 2020 when I was complaining about lack of space... how LOA works lol), I'd say it's worth it, as time as you focus to work hard, because, not only that you will have to pay rent, but you do it to have peace and focus, to make money to move somewhere else!
If you think the place can be cleaned and re-painted a little, you have heat, a toilet you say and kitchen. Sounds like a dream to me, at only $200 a month. Just make sure you invest in some good lock for the door and camming on wi fi is not a great option, maybe you have some ISP that offers fiber internet?
I did spend some money on re-painting the cam room (the ex tenant was a smoker and it was stinking), bought a sofa for decor, a rug, etc. It looks clean and inviting.
Anyway, make a money goal, you don't necessary need to save to buy a house, as other said, you can simply save to afford a better place to rent, on your own! So if you think you can make it and it will help you work more hours, make more content, etc, I'm all for renting that place. Definitely worth the $$. I pay $350 here and it's priceless. Even if I have a noisy neighbor, it's not home... I feel more free, I can't explain haha.
Oh and make sure the owner doesn't come by to pester you. I am super lucky with the owners here, that they live in another city. They came by only once in almost a year since I rented, probably because they thought I am lying when I said I need the apartament for work (they were scared I bring people or something), but they are good now, they don't care anymore lol.
So... that's it, I guess. Keep us updated with your decision!

Ooh you bring up good points, I forgot, in my room I use an ethernet cable from the modem, I could get a longer cable, but it would be partially outside? I don't think he'd wanna get another modem.. Also that price isn't what he was asking, (he wanted more) but right now he gets nothing, Idk if he'd go for it.
I guess I could ask for a trial basis say a few weeks to see how it goes, but I'm not paying some huge amount.
He never comes out here, we send our rent online.

You can negotiate the price, tell him you pay for a modem if needed and point out other stuff that have to be improved and tell him you fix them if he agrees with a lower rent... maybe it works haha, if the place is shit. I mean the owners where i rented were more than happy to rent it as it is and let ME deal with cleaning and repainting, for a smaller rent.

Been looking at renting an office space for myself (between family, frequent power outages, awful wifi I'm almost at my limit). Anyone hear of this Regus bunch or have any experience with them? They look like the office space version of airbnb lol. Seems like I could get a single private office space for fairly cheap and close by, I'm struggling to find anything else
