When I first started camming I put more effort into my appearance but now I just wear minimal make up and it hasn't affected anything negatively. I think I fit the cute girl next door look anyways which most of the guys in my room seem to love. I can't wear too much foundation anyways as I think it makes my acne worse but I wear enough to hide my blemishes. Bit of pale pink lipstick, blusher and I am ready to go. Oh and never do my hair. It is always wet from the shower and I just let it dry and set naturally :)

Also, I think the cam just makes me look better than in real life lol even out my skin tone or something!

Yeah, I don't wear much makeup at all. Same amount as I do in real life, usually. (bit of coverup to even my skin tone more than anything, mascara, sometimes eyeliner, sometimes blush, shiny lipgloss.)
Although I do try to go heavy on the mascara - to make my eyes stand out more on cam.
I also find that the webcam makes me look better, lol. It like...hides my imperfections on my face. Maybe it's the lighting though, not sure :P

At this point, my makeup gun is definitely set to whore....

LOL!

Like Jessica said, with lighting you sometimes NEED makeup. I tend to over-expose to give myself "perfect" skin (due to some skin issues) so if I am NOT wearing a metric ass-ton of makeup, I look totally washed out and weird.

That said, it isn't a big deal for me - I just get up in the morning, walk the dog, have a shower, put on makeup, get on cam. My makeup takes about 5 minutes, my hair is just brushed, or dried and brushed if I washed it.

Things that I have found:
- Guys often like the "natural" look, even if it took you 20 mins and 5lbs of makeup to get it. "crazy" makeup doesn't get good feedback, but heavy makeup made to look "natural" is a big seller. That means contouring, brown eyeshadows, pink lips...
- Hair should be DOWN. I have super long hair, which has something to do with it, but whenever I have cammed with it up, I get less money, and more people saying "take our hair down". There is something about long, loose hair that just does it for them.
- Clothes should have some color. I usually (still) cam in a black tank top and panties because I am lazy as all get out, and I just strip off the unnecessary from my daily wear and go...but I make WAY more if I wear color. Every. Time. The only exception is my LBD - they love it. Clothes seem to matter more than makeup, really.

At the end of the day, I try to get that balance between effort and actual cam time. No point spending an hour on makeup if I only have 3 hrs to cam that day.....I try to keep it to around 30mins of prep to 5 hours cam time.

Hahaha, I LOVE Simpsons references!

"Homer, you set it to whore!"

"Dad, I don't think women are going to like being shot in the face."

I wear like 10 tons of makeup because I do the alternative/gothic look. I find custies have love/hate opinions on it

I don't get on cam without foundation, eye-liner, mascara, and lipstick/lip gloss, plus my hair must be blow-dried and straightened. It usually takes a full hour for me to get ready, NOT INCLUDING interruptions by kids or husband or if my stomache rumbles and I need to eat something, oh how about I cook lunch for everyone? Oh we're out of pasta, I'll go to the grocery store... umm what was I doing again? Oh right, I was supposed to be on cam three hours ago.

Even after all that though, I still don't look particularly whore-ish. I still sport the au natural, girl-next-door look.

I would never go on cam without makeup.

I generally make myself pretty. However, last night I was moving my cam area and switching out the computer I use for camming. I was setting up the encoder to see if it would run fine since I was setting up a dedicated camming pc that is slightly older and wasn't sure if it would give me trouble. I logged in to streamate and set it to private only assuming I could pop in for a few seconds and check the processor load without getting anyone in. I was wearing my gym clothes (that are NOT cute in any way huge baggy tshirt), absolutely no makeup, hair a mess, with a blanket on my shoulder. Sure enough in that 30 seconds I was on someone popped in my private. Seriously? FFS, generally I can wait quite a bit before anyone hops in private and the ONE day I'm not really there to cam someone pops in right off the bat. I logged out super quick, but sent them a message explaining the situation. I was under the 30 seconds, so they weren't billed.

I used to wear a lot more makeup on cam, but I have switched it up to wearing only my "everyday" makeup and I've seen really good results. Not only do I not have to spend a ton of time redoing my makeup from what I wear during the day in public, into a "night/cam/whore" look lol, I have gotten a lot more compliments on my looks face-wise.

I would never go on cam without makeup either, but "less is more" seems to be working for me pretty well now. And I love the cut down on time too!

When I was starting, I would go online fully prettied-up, but it was waay too difficult not to ruin makeup when doing shows, and having to wash it off and then re-apply over and over again isn't good for skin. Now, I just use powder and some blush, so I can grimace or touch my face without getting it all messy. Saves me a lot of time, too)

God no!! I cam in the AM so I literally wake up, put on a Hurley baby tee, a cute thong and colorful knee socks, lip gloss, tame my hair a little and go!
The guys LOVE the natural look!!
