View Full Version : Regulars; are they necessary for camming survival?

Yes but I don't rely on them cause all regulars have an expiration date. Whether he starts proclaiming his love for you and doesn't feel right about spending, or forgets you're at your job. I politely remind them why I'm there and if they carry on with their fuckery BANHAMMER.

Regulars are good to predict a semi-stable income on short term.
They are great in slow days. You know one of them will show up and save the day. Doesn't happen all the time, but you still know he is going to come at some point and save the week, if not the day.
Keeping the regulars engaged is the key. You know his favourite nails color is purple? Good! paint your nails purple and send him a message that you just got a new purple nail laquer.
He loves satin panties in vibrant colors? Great, buy 2-3 pairs every week or at 2 weeks and message him and tell him you got new panties only for him!
Get to know your members, so you know how to hook them back with what they enjoy!
I had members that I totaly hated, because they had idiot requests/ fetishes. Some of them became regulars, because I did a small effort to bring the item they loved, for the next session.
You can almost predict when he is going to vanish and that way you either start to pick up the game, or look for someone new, if you gave him everything he wanted (or he starts bugging you with meetings... usually that's when it ends). Some of them just vanish suddenly and kinda leaves you in an insecure state of mind, you get anxious, you get desperate, whatever. It feels super shitty.
But that is the moment when you shake off that "comfort zone" state of mind, that the regular gave to you, and go back hunting.
what if Sephora would stop bringing new make up from our favourite brand? Would we go somewhere else? Or we would buy same shit over and over again, forever? We do, at the begining, but at some point, we need diversity.

Yea i think regulars are important to your success as they have saved my butt many times when its been slow with new guys but the new guys are just as important to turn them into a regular for future income.

i have a few regulars that literally keep me eating and i hate everyone one of them
it didn't start off that way but this idiot keeps wanting to take out on a real date because he thinks we'd make the perfect couple
during privates i have to turn my head away from the cam because i start laughing when he asks if he's making me wet
oh sure baby look reposition the cam get some lube and show him)
and this other fucker always asking for freebies (and i give it to him sometimes) and throws a fit when i start talking to other guys in the forgot
"oh okay i guess you forgot all about me now, go have fun with mr 10 inches"
i fucking hate them and having to pretend like I'm the least bit interested in them
i never convert freeloaders into paying customers
that's what i need to learn

Regulars keeps my conversation going in my room. As I am talking to regulars I am always thinking about what I can say to attract new clients. Such as, if there is a new customer in my room who has a foot fetish kink, I might say to a regular customer who just had a show with me and left me a review, something like "Thanks for your great review, we did have so much naughty fun during that foot fetish show" I give them a playful and seductive look and tell them how I would love to play them again. I play it up with regulars, to clue in the new customers and get them interested. This works for me, because I get the regulars interested in another show too and get the new customers talking too. This job is all about the sales. I am always looking for an angle to use to bring myself more business. If a regular comes in to my room TOO much and not buying a show, I say something like, " Hi, user name, are you interested in exploring that naughty side of yours in a show again or do you have a super big crush on me and LOVE to just stare at my beautiful self, because you are in here ALL THE TIME. This works sometimes and they stop bugging me or they get a show. If they do not get a show, I do not spend much time talking to them at all and spend time on to other customers, or I block them. So, regulars have their purpose, some expire or do not get shows as often after awhile and others stay with you a long time and buy shows. My goal is to keep a steady flow of clients buying shows, so I want both, regs and new customers to keep a reliable flow of money stream.

In my case, they're necessary for my survival in this industry. I attract a very peculiar crowd - but it has worked out pretty well for me because I enjoy my interactions with them. Specializing in GFE has made my time online much less sexual and more about creating relationships, thus using my personality, wit, and (luckily) huge boobs to keep them coming back. It's a bit tough to convert other people towards my style of streaming, and it is volatile - some days are insanely good, others are mediocre, but overall, my hours online are low and my income is enough to keep me happy :)

I will say that normally camming is good enough I don't need repeat customers, but lately it has been very slow and repeat customers are the only reason I am meeting my money goals.
But as others have said you need to know when to drop them which is basically once they start being more annoying and freeloading than they are worth. Just dropped a reg because he point blank stopped buying shows every single recent time he has come into my chat and demands an extreme amount of attention from me + he is just annoying and stupid in general.

I personally don't rely on guys. I just hustle in Free chat to get everyone to tip and go private so that I don't have to rely on them.
In my view there are two kinds of regulars. The guys who come back once and then because they enjoy your show/company. I love those guys. On the other hand you have the guys who come back because they are starved for attention. So I am lucky I cam on SM and not MFC because MFC is filled with the last group, lol.

My experience has been that on a site like MyFreeCams, the majority of your income comes from regulars. So when your #1 or #2 regular has reached his expiration date and moved on, it can be devastating to your earnings. But then you've just gotta remember that it's their loss, and just look forward to gaining NEW followers/regulars. I wouldn't be surprised if your former regulars still visit your room incognito or in guest mode. :P Don't some of these guys visit a few different chat rooms at the same time?

Looking back on this thread. Sometimes, YES! Just last night I was tired from my day but logged in late anyway because I'm on a daily work challenge. A reg of mine wanted ONE 10 min show but I needed $150 to close in on a bill coming up and it was after midnight. I worked my magic and he dropped $220 after I convinced him to buy in bulk. He literally made my night. Regs are useful when you need them, lol.
I'm speaking on indy regs. Chat regs pop on and send money right away, or take me private. They know I don't fuck around.
But for our sanity, I think it's important to be fun, but firm. My regs know I run my show. The only ones that grind my nerves are the ones who start falling for you. Those are the ones what will usually choose their heart over their wallets when you don't return the favor. They're good regs until they shift.

agree it always gets weird after they fall for you and yes they end up doing the "it's either the website or it's me." thing. #eyeroll godddd shut up, you knew what this was .

IKR? I guess we're so damn good at our jobs that these guys can't separate reality from fantasy. Cheers to being a fucking wallet, ninja, ladies. Get as many, and go as deep as you can. If one empties, another opens!

It seems like regulars are a necessity on MFC. Even in top girls' rooms, I've seen 1000 plus members in there, but the same 2-3 guys are tipping while the other guys just sit there. They don't seem as important on SM. I have a couple regs, but a lot of my shows are from new guys. I like this because I don't like dealing with regulars. I never get the generous ones who spend a ton on me and don't expect anything in return-I always get the super needy ones who pester me for my number or to meet IRL. lol

On MFC, yes definitely. If my regulars don't show up, I make diddly-squat. I do get random people tipping me sometimes, but it's rare. If my regs are there chatting and tipping, that usually encourages other people to join in. On SM, in my experience, regs aren't as important, but still important. I'm always trying hard to make new regulars because I know the ones I have will eventually move on.

Ugh it IS a setback to my earnings once they leave bc I've refused to be with them IRL or they just wanna stop spending money for whatever reason. Sucks but I guess it's the wind of change in this biz sadly. I take what I can from them then try to save it & not blow it bc you just never know anymore *smh*

I think for indi regulars are great. They come and go, but it is good to have a steady stream of regs. I have a few guys getting the same types of shows every week or multiple times a week. Suddenly the disappear, new regs come around, then the old ones come back with some crazy new fetish. The life cycle of masturbation, I guess...

I think regulars are important in some camsites. If you have bunch of freeloaders in your room and some cheap-ass customers, then you better have at least one regular. At the moment I have only one big fan, who's been sticking around for 3-4 months already but he has helped me a lot. :)

I'd be screwed if it weren't for my small base of regulars, both on Indy and Streamate. I think maybe for the bigger camgirls regulars aren't as necessarily needed, but as a trans camgirl, in a niche as it is, they are definitely necessary.

I work with the 1,000 true fans. That number stays the same but the people who make up the 1,000 true fans changes. That is all I focus on I don't care how they become one or how long they last as one. I know when I have them I will make my targets and reach my goals.

I feel like I would be screwed without my 10-20 minute regulars. They are way more reliable then my 30 minute exclusive block guys. Then it turns into that gf shit, all that fantasy. They want to be babied and require too much care. I wish sm tracked spending by user, or I could just make a spreadsheet.

I love my regulars. Sure, some are needy and most all have an expiration date, but since I've started focusing more on building a business relationship with them I've made substantially more and have to do far fewer hardcore shows. my life expectancy for my regulars has also gone up. Sometimes I'm booked out solid for days in advance. ~25% of my shows are new clients & the rest are returning customers, though I'm mostly indy these days. On big box sites it seems to be a 40/60 (new/returning) split or so for me.
