As everyone else mentioned, airbnb is your best shot.
Now, about the internet, assuming you pick airbnb there shouldn't be much of a problem. If it is, T Mobile offers an unlimited data plan (And unlimited calls and texts too) for 95 a month, no phone included (You can always bring yours, however, which is better IMO). Also, they don't throttle you when using the hotspot feature in your smartphone (Which is built in both iOS and Android devices).

Here's how the hotspot thing works on Android, It's pretty much the same for iPhone

I have cammed from hotels many times.
I take my own ethernet cord for sm and plug in
sometimes they have 1 in the room but I take mine and never a issue

Hello,
I am going to the USA for a couple months. I made the mistake of assuming that I could buy a mobile internet source (like a usb stick or a hotspot) with an unlimited plan. Yes, I will be staying at a hotel with wifi, but I highly doubt it will be fast enough for good cam session. I was checking out AT&T's date calculator and it looks like I would need at least 60gb of data a month, but the biggest plan they offer is 8?! And I don't want to pay 10$ for every 2gb after the initial 8. So, are there any no contract internet plans I can get monthly in the US suitable for camming from a hotel room? Any & all ideas are very helpful!
Thanks
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the first month of your hotel stay? I'm planning on (either in August or September) moving me and my son into one of those Extended Stay hotels for a while. I was told over the phone that I would pay $300 every week if I do an extended stay. I'm just trying to gather as much info as possible so I'm not wasting a bus trip over there to wind up terribly disappointed.
Edit: Damn, I just realized this is an old thread, and I bumped it. :( Sorry, guys.

I lived in an extended stay for two months for awhile. I recommend asking them to book you weeks ahead, because the week rate may change bc of an event of whatever is going on in town. That messed me up a few weeks and made it hard to move out tbh. But I did okay, I cammed there with a hotspot and tried to be quiet during the show, (I mainly cammed during the day since most people leave the hotel then)
Long story short I paid a bit more than you, between 400 and 475 a week, for a couple months and then successfully moved out of state. Oh and try to see if there is a store close by or a bus that will take you to one, I got so tired of wasting money on takeout living in that hotel lol

I'm glad you bumped it as I am a traveling camgirl right now. I have been able to cam pretty well on SM but splitcamming is impossible from a hotel. Looking at moving over to an airbnb next week in the area. I use hotels.com as extended stay is an option but every 10 nights you book through them you get a night free. Also I have been looking on tripadvisor to see what people have to say about the wifi, and there is this resource which isnt foolproof but gives a general idea of wifi to be expected at hotels.
https://www.hotelwifitest.com/
I think it will be a great site in the future as more people utilize it and report their wifi experiences.

Hey! I forgot about this! Long story...but I will answer your question first about the extended stay. I stayed in a hotel in the center of SF. I got a deal on booking.com and paid 1400 for a full month. The hotel waived the security deposit. There was also one other hotel in the center that was about as cheap or a little more. However, the cheap places attract some not so kid friendly vibes. When I was googling around for other places to stay in bigger cities extended stay, they all seemed to be pretty expensive. The hotel prices are def going up .... :-( It also seems like a lot of the extended stay hotels aren't listed on booking websites. When I was walking around SF I saw many that just had their # hanging on the side of the building with vacancy signs. Those places looked pretty nice. If it's possible, ask a friend living in the area you want to go to, to scout out some #s for you if it works the same...not really sure.
As for Air b n b ..... I had 500$ in gift certificate $$, and when I tried to use it they shut down my account. They don't have to give out any reason why. I assume it was because I used my dancer name as my profile name (I used my real one in my personal info) and I also used my work email. So I was out a lot of money very quickly during my trip, and didn't get it back until about a month later when I was already home. I know using work stuff was stupid looking back at it, but at the time I didn't want my profile photo of my face linked anywhere online with my real name. So learn from my mistake and use all your real stuff and some photo of your hand or the back of your head or something :-p
The wifi in the hotel I was at was awesome until the second week or so. I asked the front desk, but they didn't know why it wasn't going fast for me. I am not sure if they had some kind of internet account that goes slower after so much is used. But my camming had to stop midway through my trip.....It was only good for uploading videos. I worked for a dispatch phone sex company for a little extra $$, but that was shit. Not even worth the time I put into it and all of the racist scenarios these boys tried pulling on me. /:O
Tmobile unlimited......but when I use up all the fast speed net, the unlimited is too slow for streaming right? So I would just have to keep buying more and more fast speed?

The good thing about this particular Extended Stay is that it's super close to my son's school (I wonder if the school bus can pick up a student temporarily living in a hotel), and there is a grocery store right near it. There is also a bus stop nearby. I have all of the bus schedules for this county.
I'm gonna scroll back up and read through all the replies, and jot down some notes. Lol. I've been searching on here for threads and posts on this very topic. Thanks, ladies!

raaka, you can ask the AirBnB host for a speed test too ( I do for my vanilla business because I skype often ). The only time I haven't had one provided was just with older hosts who aren't tech savvy ( I declined staying ). More and more hosts there are starting to post speed tests too.

I do have an iPhone 6S. For camming, do you ladies feel it would be better to use the iPhone 6S's hotspot instead of of Extended Stay's Wi-Fi? Years ago I had one of those Sprint aircards that you plug into the side of your laptop. I remember I kept getting disconnected from MFC, and it was so frustrating.

Hello ladies, I'll need to cam from either hotel or airbnb for at least two weeks until my home is ready . I went back and read older archived threads here about hotels just thought instead of bumping those id just start a new thread.
Airbnb..
* more home like setup
* possibility of stronger wifi connection
* cheaper ( renting a room/house $150-350/week)
Hotel
* so far i have found that some hotels are offering high speed internet but at a daily cost $3-8
* room cost :: ( $60-100 a night plus hotels fees is about $500/week )
* few hotels have said internet is about 20down .. reviews of internet says spotty
* i called extended stay and although its cheaper to stay ( $800 for about 2weeks .. wifi is less than 1 up/down vs paid is 3down/.8 up)
Any help on maybe hotspot? recent experiences? suggestions lol anything

i lived on the road in different airbnbs for 5 months while moving from WA to NV...along with 2 cats and 1 dog~ it was a place to stay and i always asked about the wifi. some sucked and others were good. i kept my sound and audio down. Not as good as home but I made $$ and enough to live on. Had to do hotel a few times and it SUCKED! Go with airbnb but stay quiet. I just said i worked from home.

Ya I'm prob gonna be in this situation at the end of this month bc I just can't take paying 400 a month for a portion of the curtained off living room anymore. I'm also wanting a chanhe of scenery anyways & am glad i stumbled upon this thread bc I have been stressing whether or not an air bnb was gonna be too expensive to live in until I can find an affordable room for myself in a home.
Have any of you ever lived in an air bnb long term while camming? The area I'm looking to relocate to is gonna cost me around 300-350 a week for rent & the weekly motel deal is around 300-329 I believe, plus it looks kind of dingy & ghetto so i'm def leaning more towards the air bnb.
I'm just confused bc I don't want to end up homeless in case summer slowdown kicks in for me & not be able to make back what I need for rent. To move or not.... I'm literally going crazy staying here where i'm at though & it's killing my energy :(

When they say high its still probably isn't high enough for camming....vanilla high speed and techy high speed are like 2 total different things. The few times that I stayed at a hotel I got the boosted internet and it still wasn't enough to cam. I had to use my cellphone which is through At&t as a hotspot which gave me an excellent connection. The only problem I faced was that the phone got hot and I ran out of data. So here's my suggestion for anyone who's going to be staying in a hotel or even at an Airbnb.....if you have a pre-paid cell get the unlimited data plan even its only for the time you're staying at the hotel/Airbnb and use the hotspot feature to connect your computer to your phone. I think At&t might even have a live streaming feature because about a week after I used my phone to stream I kept getting a text from At&t about live streaming but I didn't really read it. Anyways as long as you have 4g and at least 3-4 bars you should have a far better connect through your cell than the hotel internet.

to know exact speed of internet in a hotel you can call front desk and ask who their provider is and ask for phone then call provider and ask them what exact speeds they unstalled

I have canned in four Air BnBs and dozens of hotels. Air BnB camming is pretty easy as its residential internet and you're not sharing the wifi connection with anyone else. When it comes to standard "residential" internet, no it's not business internet but with the right computer you can do just fine. I've always had higher end residential internet (15-30 Mbps upload) but I have a great computer that is solely for camming so I've managed and rarely had issues.
Hotels are typically slower but do-able. You're sharing the wifi with the rest of the hotel so peak times (3 pm - 8 pm) the connection can get pretty slow. Most hotels are wifi only and don't have hardwored options these days, so you have to adjust your camming schedule based on off-peak times (early mornings, late night & overnight). If the hotel does have a hard-wired option, that's better. However, a few times I've stayed in hotels where the hard wired connection was far from my camming area and the cord wasn't long enough. In that case, I went to Walmart and bought a wifi extender, hooked it up to the hard wired connection and made my own personal wifi.
I don't really recommend tethering to your phone because pretty much all carriers, regardless of unlimited data or not, have a cap for tethering and charge up the ass when you exceed the limit. Additionally, I know models who tether to do "special shows" such as ones in the car, and they complain about how quickly the data usage adds up as does the data charges, sometimes exceeding their earnings for the day.
If you can, always choose air bnb over hotels when it comes to camming. I hate camming in hotels because 1) it doesn't look like my bedroom so I think it's kind of a turn off 2)I worry about someone recognizing the room and knowing where I am 3) I hate hearing guys try to start up a conversation about "why" I'm at a hotel

I cammed at airbnb's for 2 months this year, in Europe. The internet speed was really different for each place. I wish I had asked the owner about it before booking, but I didn't want to raise any red flags about camming lol. Sometimes you can find more info about this in the airbnb's reviews.
Hotels are not ideal, the internet is never high speed. Airbnb's are more likely to have high speeds, but some places might not have the router/modem in an accessible place, and some airbnb's use cheap "mifi"/portable internet devices. (I'd recommend getting a portable device like that for yourself, that allows you to buy/use data in case you lose internet access. It can give you more data for cheaper than a cell phone plan)
When I unexpectedly ended up in an airbnb with shoddy internet, I focused on selling kik/snapchat, photosets, and clips. I advertised all over social media, logged into my indie Skype sites, apologized for not being able to do live shows, and offered other stuff. It worked... I think I also lowered my custom content prices to be the same as my live Skype show prices. I filmed everything in the airbnb, and when I had larger video files to upload, I ventured out to other places with wifi, like a coffee shop, and used my VPN/ just tried to hide my computer screen from view when my video popped up lol
So yes, an airbnb is a good option, although it can still be risky since you don't have full control over the internet and you're usually paying a similar price as just renting a cheap apartment.
Is there any way you could sublet an apartment or even live with roommates, but get your own room? That would still probably be an improvement over your current situation.
ETA: I also discovered that there are apps you can use to find unsecured wifi in the surrounding area. Life changing! Lol just make sure you use a vpn ;)

If you sign up for Airbnb make sure to use a non-camming email address. Don't use the one you may have posted for payment options or your wishlist. If its searchable on the net and connected to your camming profiles the homeowner may report you and as a result you could get banned from using Airbnb.

I keep looking to sublet either an apt or a room & I'm not having much luck bc these ppl want a huge deposit PLUS the rent & I'm not paying that all at once leaving myself with hardly anything left in my bank account. I just thought the airbnb would be a better option bc it's essentially the same as renting your own apt just without the stupid lease. Not to mention but every situation I've looked into that would be in my price range either has a laundry list of things they don't want (like no working from home bs, credit check mine is awful) or they're scammers. Some also want you to get on the lease & I'm not really comfortable with getting on a lease anymore unless it's my own apt no roommates.
I know it'll prob get expensive esp for the area I'm gonna be in so I know I'll end up having to work my ass off just to keep a roof over my head. Most airbnb's I've have in the past have been really cool & have just let me be, I'm quiet & respectful so they don't bother me. I know that I am ready for a change of scenery & it will be a healthy decision for me regardless where I end up bc I'm just annoyed with my current living situation & not really getting to sleep in without getting awoken by them talking in the mornings or afternoons right outside my curtains.

Yep! i decided on airbnb as well... i have a backup for hotel that actual has nothing but great reviews for internet .
I found a couple on airbnb explained my situation and they are perfectly ok with it. .. even if i need to book longer than expected. As long as its paid for they are fine.
Once i get them to run a speed test .. i can book..
its about $35/40 a night... i can handle that with ease.
I have also looked into short term rental... most people are looking for subleasing but if i come across someone who will just let me take over there place for a month it will be cheaper then both airbnb & hotel. I could rent a whole place for $800-900 or a room for $600 tops with a short term situation. Vs airbnb which is like $1000.

I attempted to cam from a cheap Super 8 motel recently, and the Wi-Fi connection was absolutely awful that I couldn't cam at all. There were just too many problems, and the guys in my room kept letting me know how fucked up my feed was too. I'm thinking that maybe a nicer hotel like Hampton Inn (I might be getting a room there tonight) may be a better option. I did a hotel photo shoot a few days ago in a beautiful Hampton Inn hotel room, and I kinda wish I had brought my laptop and my Logitech webcam with me, because I probably would've been okay there as far as camming.

I've been living in air bnbs when I'm not at my bf's place and it's really starting to take it's toll on me esp when I refuse to cough up $50 a night for a pvt room (in case I don't make it back that night). I got this one room that is shared with other females (hostel type situation) and other than doing my shows in the bathroom while they sleep, I dunno what else to do. I'm signed up to several texting sites but they are all slow AF & with me being somewhat unable to cam , I'm freaking out about my money dwindling. What else could I do in terms of sex work or maybe sneaky ways to stream while in my bunk? Sounds crazy I know~
P.s Can't move in with my bf bc his landlady is done with other roommates staying there , and no I don't want to leave the area bc I like it here.

If you have a TalkTo Me account, you could use the vchat line. You can control when you can talk and hang up when you need to without any issues, since you do not get rated for the calls. I used the line when I lost my power because of a storm and also if I am waiting for maintenance to come by to do a repair in my apartment or if I am not feeling good. I can end the call whenever I want to. You make .20 to .30 cents a minute in talk time. It is equal to 12 to 15 dollars in hour. You only get paid for the actual amount of time that you are talking to a guy on the phone and messages too.
Make clips. Also find some work from home jobs. Check out Rat Race Rebellion. Join a new camming site so you can get new girl money.

No I can't sadly bc he's not comfy with seeing me do that. Also no escorting is something I just won't do. I'm gonna keep my eyes out for cheaper rooms and can my ads off until something better opens up. Just hate spending nearly 40-50 a night 4 nights a week on priv rooms :(

I second what LizzyMe said.... try phonesex and making clips but I would work multiple phonesex and clip sites. You can also sell Snapchat, private Twitter, private Instagram and or do Onlyfans. If you want to try to sneak stream you can try camming without sound and work the angle of naughty school girl or naughty roommate. If you have skills like writing, graphic design, web design/development, etc you can try freelancing through Craigslist, Upwork, Fivver, People per hour, etc. There's also remote jobs on sites like Remoteok.io, Flexjobs, etc. I think you'll be if you can do a combination of phonesex, clips and vanilla work. If nothing else since you said escorting is out maybe you can try stripping.
A little suggestion though...... if camming is your main income its probably best to forever avoid living spaces where you will have to share rooms.

I'm not tiptoing around anything. He did help me this week actually with a couple nights in a room as he culd but we're not married & have separate financial issues which I'd rather keep that way. When I stay with him I choose not to work bc I'd rather enjoy my time with someone I'm happy with instead of working and getting more stressed out from nonpaying shitheads.
I'm gonna keep your suggestions in mind though as i continue to search for a more better living situation. Besides I'm not really ready to live with him just yet.

I get that you're not ready to live with him or put your money together. I didn't suggest that. My only concern, is that he's getting wifely privileges (aka, your vagina), has a rental agreement, and an opinion on how you make your money. You uprooted yourself, and are in the state he lives in currently. He's good- but you're the one that's virtually homeless and unable to work when you are with him or sharing with others.
If you had a place for a week or better yet, a month, you could do what you set out to do. And using arousr, ttm, indy texting and other text platforms have netted me $900-1300 per week without cam for the past 3 months so the non-cam no money thing isn't totally a thing if you plug them in all at once.
A better living situation is securing a roof over your head, and seeing bf later. You don't seem like you can afford those days off you're taking with him. Days off are for when your financial needs are met. You can stay with him 3 days, work when he works, and rent out a studio or 1 bedroom entire place for 4 days out of the week and bust that ass. Eventually you'll have enough saved to rent for 1-4 weeks and rinse and repeat. I was able to work flawlessly while I've travel cammed because I made sure I rented entire places, and that the internet was high speed. Either that or level up to a better, financially stable bf.

I stayed at a Marriott, the connection was BOMB. 17up and I specifically asked for a lower floor (closer to the server rooms which are typically in the basement). I have seen some nicer hotels have wired connections listed.
But keep in mind, this is a very insecure connection... take as many precautions as you can.

I totally get what you're saying, however I didn't uproot mysellf to be where he is, I was already in the area & I have been the one not wanting to spend money on rent really. I'm trying to keep it as low as possible in terms of spots I can temp cam from using indy sites. I've been doing mostly texting/ random video chats and it's been working out. From now on I'm working while I'm hanging out with him, even if it means taking my calls into the bathroom with the faucet on lol.
I'm honestly just not ready to settle anywhere at the moment so paying high ass rent a month or even 3 weeks seems lame to me esp since I can just do texting.

Ok, thanks a lot, I did see the dongle one..
If I posted wrong, I can delete it if you want.
Thanks again :)
No need to delete. I think the travel threads and wifi threads are of popular interest, and some may not know that the older ones exist. I found them all by using google and typing in "stripperweb + wifi" "stripperweb + wifi hotspot" etc

If you're traveling alone, and especially if you're going to another country, I highly recommend getting a tracking alert device.
Amazon has lots of different types.

Little known fact.. .if you work for a hotel for one day a week, and this is not unusual, you get tremendous discounts. No hotel exp? Go to the suburbs to a 4 star hotel, the labor pool is a lil slimmer.
I have been testing the Marriott Residence Inns and thumb way up. You can hardwire and the internet is great. Dog friendly, free breakfast, hell leave the your grocery list and they will go shopping for you!
Any other hotels you know of who still have Ethernet plugs?
EXAMPLES: In my area, I can get a Residence Inn hotel discount for $55 a night, Fairfield Inn (Ethernet connection as well) for $39 a night. Pet friendly n all!
I have heard the discounts for Hilton employees is does not fluctuate like Marriott rates and are from $35 - 65 per night for all Hilton Brands. I have never tried to cam in a Hilton though.

Hey all, I'm travelling and just moved into an apartment for the month. Upload speeds are less than 1mbps (despite the landlord saying the internet is super fast... grrr.) Worse, it seems I can't do mobile hotspot / tethering either, because this building has thick marble walls and my phone will NOT stay connected to 4G. It stays mostly on 3G, which also has an upload speed around 1mbps.
Am I pretty much screwed?? Is there ANY way for me to get a decent upload speed? I assume mifi portable devices and all that stuff won't work very well either if I can't even get a 4G signal here?
I can survive on clips, phone, texting etc. but I was really wanting to cam a lot of hours & make a lot of money this month. Argh. The landlord says she's gonna try to fix the internet but I'm kind of skeptical, who knows when or if it'll even happen.

I can full time on speeds under 1. It can be done but you can't split cam or run a encoder.

Does the cam site see that you have a different IP address and adjust your percentage based on what country you are in?

i lived in a condo like this....it might be possible to find a spot that your phone gets 4g as long as you dont move it, try window ledges(+middle of window where it opens), closet shelves and on top of refrigerator. if u cant see the phone try screen recording to see if it drops or stays.

Thanks hottie, yeah, I've discovered areas where I can get 4G quite reliably, particularly near the windows on one side of the apartment. However as soon as I turn mobile hotspot on, it immediately reverts back to 3G. Argh lol.
I did manage to cam a couple hours on SM the other day with 3G. I guess there's two tiers of 3G... regular 3G and 3GH+ or something. The latter has speeds around 3mb+ which is okay for camming I guess. Still frustrating though!!

Do you cam on SM? Do you just cam through the browser and not use the encoder / SMBroadcaster? How's your traffic, video quality etc? How about Skype shows? Thanks!! Maybe I'm overthinking this, lol.

Is there a Verizon wireless nearby? You can purchase their portable hotspot mobile device to link to your laptop? I believe the last time I used it I got 3up at least. Ate through a lot of it but my feed was fast and clear and covered overhead costs from the reups. I was able to do at least 4-6h a day plus skype shows and websurfing/movies. If your phone can't stay on 3G I'm guessing the device still can. I never had an issue with it dropping and I used it in places with concrete walls. https://www.verizonwireless.com/internet-devices/verizon/

No Verizon here, but there is AT&T which offers a similar wifi hotspot thingy. I may not need it though; as long as I can get 3G H+ on my phone I can get speeds of around 3mbps. Thankfully!

I just use my browser. That upload strength will not support the broadcaster or a encoder. My feed certainly could be better but I can still work and get shows...not today however as damn it's slow lol
