Last summer, daughter announced that she wanted to join the neighborhood pool with all her pals. BF and I decide that's a good idea, get the local kiddos out of our backyard pool and under the watchful eye of a lifeguard. So far, so good! Then, we decide that with daughter and her pals now gone, we can skinny dip! So far, so much the better! Then, nosy neighbor starts mowing the yard, a lot. Turns out, he can see through the shrubs and is getting a pretty good look. So, we bring in some new plants, upgrade the landscaping and generally close off the pool. All is good. Might have been cheaper to let daughter and her friends hang out at our place though. But, no skinny dipping with a 13 year old and her pals around. Summer's coming, and daughter announces that she wants a pool pass again! BF can't pay for it quick enough!

I'm going to leave some food out for the birdies that come and sit on my window ledge every day and look at me. Despite it having been 70 degrees, sunny, and nice for the first time in 7 months apparently a frickin' snowstorm is coming tomorrow. -_-

I've lived in New England my whole life before being stationed out here. At least in New England you know that it's going to be cold 8 months a year. Here in the Midwest, it changes hourly! It was 18 degrees one morning when we were doing PT, and that afternoon it hit 70. That's just wrong!

As for Cali, California is ridiculous. Everything is more expensive there, regardless of condition or size. I lived out there in a tiny 190 sq ft studio apartment. Rent was over $1k.

So, one reason not to hate Jeff Bezos

from WaPo:

Prospects for same-sex marriage in Washington state had dimmed. Opponents had forced a voter referendum and were raising money. In 32 similar measures in other states, same-sex marriage lost every time.

There was little reason to think Bezos would chip in.The task of asking Bezos fell to Jennifer Cast, one of Amazon’s first employees who had left the company and was volunteering for the same-sex marriage campaign. She was 50 and living with her partner and their 7-year-old twin boys.

“I want to have the right to marry the love of my life and to let my children and grandchildren know their family is honored like a ‘real’ family,’’ she wrote in an email to Bezos. “We need help from straight people. To be very frank, we need help from wealthy straight people who care about us and who want to help us win.’’

Cast asked for $100,000.

Bezos responded: “This is right for so many reasons. We’re in for $2.5 million. Jeff & MacKenzie.’’

Yep, it's probably fracking. Humans fucking up the planet again. It's what we do best! But like George Carlin said, "The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas." So maybe the earthquakes are Earth's way of "shaking us off".

My to-do list for today:

-wash dishes
-do cat's litter
-sweep and mop house
-give cat a bath
-do laundry
-most importantly, smoke weed, take your time completing chores, and listen to music and dance while you work :D

I also have no food in the house either, so I have to do something about that. Or I'll just stay in and have cereal for dinner. lol

I found some expired lidocaine patches I used to use for back pain. I figured I'd try them on my aching knee.
I put one on before I went to sleep Friday night. It took the pain away.
I woke up yesterday with a raging migraine.:'(
Was it a side effect?
I went into CVS and asked the pharmacist.
He gave me this long, and very stern lecture about not using expired medicine. I mean, like on and on:-\
As I was leaving with a worse migraine than when I went in, and feeling nauceous.
The girl in the make-up department with the long fake lashes and way too much makeup, who I absolutely adore because she's always been so helpful, says.....
"Pfft! Don't listen to him. He doesn't know what he's talking about!."
Lol!
Omg, can you imagine if he found out that she's telling people that?
I love her! I honestly do.
I googled it when I got home, and she's right. Migraine isn't even a side effect, and lidocaine patches are fine to use if expired.
* It got me wondering about the expired Norco I have too.
Hmmmmm.:chillpill

This is odd because I heard something else from an ER doctor days ago.

Disclaimer- medical professionals are obligated to tell you to use un-expired meds because any other advice could be harmful.

Most meds just fade in potency over time. A few do become unsafe when expired.

Keep in mind "the placebo effect" is a huge factor in helping with some pain management.

//my advice, consult the Google search engine if you choose to use expired meds.
