"Rapper T.I. admits he accompanies his 18 year old daughter to the gynecologist every year to make sure she's still a virgin."

Um, that sounds like gross creepy dad behavior. She's 18. She's legally an adult for gosh sake and that's none of your business. I find it disturbing that he would do this. Also, a woman's hymen can break for non-sex reasons like using a tampon, riding a bike, masturbating, etc. I didn't have a dad or much of a father figure growing up, but that would feel disturbed and grossed out as a teen if I had a dad who insisted on accompanying me to a gynecologist every year to make sure that my hymen was still intact. That sounds like something that would happen in a Middle Eastern muslim country where oppression of women is common.

I kind of wonder if he worries about a financially predatory guy grooming her for a relationship (kind of like James Woods' character does to Ginger in the movie "Casino") ...It is super common and the stigma of male gold diggers/gigolos has lessened somewhat.

This is the hip hop version of "purity culture"....

Ew. That is creepy.

The obsession with female body/virginity

Plus in my opinion I think it’s sexist to encourage young women to be “pure” virgins yet marry them off to male sluts

Female virgins should be with male virgins

And more males should be encouraged to save their virginity for marriage

I cancelled plans to go to an art event last night.
Even though it started at 5 pm, it might as well have been midnight. Lol!
It was already dark. There's no street lights. And the gallery was a few towns over.
Plus, I don't have my new driving glasses yet.

I can play a pretty wide range of string and wind instruments. As for what I have on-hand and play regularly, I have six string acoustic and electric guitars, a twelve string acoustic guitar, a four string ‘baby bass’, a banjo, and three different types of flutes.

I’ve been thinking about how I’ve missed being in a band, but can’t really find others wanting to play the same style I w t to play. Here’s the thing… I have the ability and instruments to do most of the instrumental parts… I can play guitar, flute, and violin… all I’d really need is someone to do percussion and maybe someone for keys (though I’d probably shy away from those or use them with extreme restraint. And I certainly have enough contacts to find session musicians or people who’d take it on as a side project… I’ve appeared as a session or guest musician for five bands already, and I even have a page about me on Metal Archives… fuck it. I think I’m going to record an EP and see how it goes.

If you play black metal there are some good groups - metal has so many genres. When you say guitar do you mean electric or acoustic?

Both. I have a six string Ibanez, six- and twelve string acoustic guitars, and a four string ‘baby bass’ (at 4’10”, a full sized bass isn’t going to agree with me).

Black metal isn’t my style. Yeah, I did do an EP with a death metal band - and yes, I growled, too - but I’d turn more to bands like Sir Lord Baltimore, Black Sabbath, SubRosa, Totem, Chelsea Wolfe, Saint Vitus, etc. as my influences… even some of the more downtempo selections from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Slayer (e.g., Seasons In the Abyss, or segments of it, anyhow). I’ll break that down into more detail later. The only one of the aforementioned instruments I haven’t played on a recorded track was the flute, but that can be done.

https://youtu.be/nRJwTS_2M5M

I also have a pretty wide vocal range.

I’d really like to do a cover of Iron Maiden’s “Remember Tomorrow”, but it might be a bit upbeat and out of place for what I had in mind. I want more gloom than shred. That’s actually how I got ‘discovered’ - singing that one at a karaoke bar.

Yes. Music has always been a big deal to me. It was really my first major disobedience, and likely the catalyst for getting out of a way of life which I just knew wasn’t for me. I bought a used iPod and I could add songs and change the playlist at the home of one of my ‘English’ classmates. Had to keep it hidden from my parents, though… it was forbidden to us. And I still remember the song that sparked my interest in music and made me want to create my own music. You’d probably never guess who it was or what song. It wasn’t until I moved out and lived with the lunatic roommate that I discovered my current musical taste.

Doordash is on my crap list. My kid and I ordered food from Boston Market and was waiting for our food. The app said that the food would arrive be arriving in 25 minutes(estimated time). An hour went by and no food. I called Boston Market and they said no order was placed under my name. I checked my email for the Doordash receipt as proof. It was there and another hour later, low and behold, Doordash said that they couldn't deliver the food because I was out of their service range. Ok, then why didn't you call or something after I had placed the order to let me know, instead of leaving us to wait for food that was never coming?

Yes, but from what I've heard the company steals tips from their drivers. You also have to factor in the wear and tear on your own car and gas expenses coming out of your own pocket. You'd be better off working as one of the higher ups of the company, like a CEO. They are the ones profiting the most.

Between the food delivery services, the grocery delivery, ride/taxi-like services, these people who founded such companies have all profited on the same darn thing, just under a different name. Maybe you could found a food delivery company that actually shows up on time, lol. If they ever come out with flying cars maybe that could be your next big venture. ;)

Both my front and back doors are locked and deadbolted and the tv remote is still sitting on the living room couch right where I left it. All I can figure is that maybe a neighbor has the same kind of smart tv and it managed to trigger mine to turn on when they were turning theirs on. This is the 2nd time this has happened. My employer’s considering dropping the UHF radio network in favor of an 800 MHz trunked network with P25 Phase II digital squelch toning. He hasn’t said yet if he expects us to buy our own radios or not if he does this.

I’m in two minds about it. On the one hand, he’ll give us a stipend to cover at least some of the cost… it might even fully cover the cost of some used ones. On the other hand, it won’t fully cover the cost of the one I want - a Harris XG-100P, which does P25 and trunking, and it also covers VHF (which I don’t really need), UHF (which will allow me to talk on the equestrian center GMRS net), and the 800/900 band. But even used, they’re quite pricey… the prices used on EBay range from $1,400 - $1,900.

I went to meet some day job clients at a fancy " _*under _canvas " glamping place.
I don't want to trash talk ( I may delete this ) but I would have been so disappointed. I *think* it was like $250 a night or something. I drove up and the place looked like a homeless tent city . The " shared " area tent ( while everyone eats ) seemed to not have air conditioning . Maybe I'm missing something ? I need to research this damn place more . I just feel like I would have been pissed if I booked it but as a local I guess part of it is knowing that budget could have gotten so much more elsewhere. I was excited to visit one of those properties . ;/

I'm sure I was seeing it as it's worst ( in the middle of the bright sun and middle of day ) but what I saw and how it appears on IG ..... whoa ...... seems like different worlds.

I’m got a list of songs in mind for this, but I need to trim it down some.

I read an article about Chuck E. Cheese doing away with their animatronic character band that they've had for years. When I was a kid I used to be so fascinated by that animatronic band that when the curtains closed I'd sneak up on the stage, behind the curtain to go look at them. I have pictures of me having several birthdays there, back when the place was called ShowBiz and when it became Chuck E. Cheese. My own kid has had a few birthdays there as well and walked for the first time ever while there. That place holds a lot of memories. I wonder what they'll do with the discarded animatronic characters. I still have tokens from when they used to use those golden tokens that have now been discontinued and replaced with credit card looking things. I plan on taping them to my kid's baby book or something so that they don't get lost. I'm feeling nostalgic.

Omg! I had a vanilla job there I was the girl working the prize stand & making cotton candy. It used to be so fun giving kids their prizes and arranging all the cheap prizes in the cases,I've never forgot that! Also was funny I was spposed to also fix some of the games when they went down . however I never figured out how to fix them. I hated going to one of the guys in the kitchen who would come out and fix it for me I felt so guilty, but he always did it. god rest his soul!! I know exactly what you mean about being fasinated by those animals, it was amazing!! Also one thing, the birthday cakes were so. freaking. delicious. I actually still feel guilty about this! but when I first work there, I was a waitress & server. I handled all the bday parties. Omg. I used to go in the frigerator and open the box of cake and eat off the birthday cakes! all shift long, I would find reasons to go into the refrigerator and eat off those cakes! I was young then, 19. and never gained weight there were times I remember eating almost entire cake, if not an entire one. I am going to miss that place!!!

Chuck E. Cheese (along with the nearby Toys R Us) is one of my fondest childhood memories. It was far away, so I only got to go for birthdays. I remember the animatronics, the 80's video games, the shiny tokens, tickets, the ball pit, the balloon machine, skee ball, whack-a-mole, and of course, the pizza.

I almost didn't spend the tokens because I wanted to keep them.

Interesting article about the chain here. (https://www.mashed.com/113919/untold-truth-chuck-e-cheeses/) I did not know Chuck's middle name was "Entertainment."

There's a newer one inside the local mall. No comparison at all. And apparently they've completely redesigned Chuck himself. Don't Google it- it's hideous.

Also don't Google "violence at Chuck E. Cheese."

Remind me not to get groceries from Kroger again. $46 for 7 items. Aldi is much more reasonable. Damn my carrot juice and (cooked) sushi cravings!
GIRL YES! Same! I was buying all my groceries from Kroger & forgot all about Aldis then I was like hold on.... Fuck them! I've been going to Aldis & in combination with walmart much better!

You can choose any one skill to have at an expert level. The only restriction is that you may not profit from it.

Great singing voice?
Expert typist?
Artistic skill?
A musical instrument?
Anything else?

I already have two of those. And trust me, with none of those can you really profit from it at expert level. You need to be one of the top few in the world to make any real money.

But if I had to choose a skill you don't have listed, I'd choose piloting at expert level.

It's almost Christmas tree decorating time. I have a tradition...I decorate my tree nude. Bf doesn't help. He just watches and drinks egg nog while I decorate...I don't know why.

Blues, we don't ever *ask* for pictures on this site, no beggars, so punch yourself in the face, sit on your hands, and grit your teeth until the urge passes.
