* First confirmed case of COVID-19 in US
* And now... murder hornets (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/02/us/asian-giant-hornet-washington.html).

I think I’d let myself take ‘Taco Tuesday’ at work for granted. We haven’t had it since the epidemic closed everything down, and I’ve literally been having dreams of tacos the last few nights. Which, that in and of itself may not be so bad, but they actually talked to me in one of them.

I know you're being cute, but yes, Washington State is actually an incredible tourist destination. I accidentally was treated to the beauty and grace of the state via several roadtrips (moving to a neighboring state.) Every American should try to visit Seattle or scenic rural Washington State at least once in their lives.

Twice within the past 2 hours I have happened to look outside and caught birds mating outside my kitchen window. The second time, in addition to the birds, there were rabbits getting it on over by the tulips. I must have a sexy front yard, lmao!

On a nice day, I can see Mt. Rainier on my morning walk. People say "the mountain is out" when it's clear. I really like the parks around the capitol.

I would have been on road trip along the Pacific Coast right now had it not been for covid-19. I was just starting to get excited when we had to cancel. If y'all know any movies, shows or documentaries from the Pacific NW with lots of scenery I'd love to see it.

Yep! A short list off the top of my head- "The Hunted" shot in Portland Oregon
"The Goonies" (set in Oregon)
"Kindergarten Cop" (shot in a small town in Oregon)
"Drugstore Cowboy (Portland, Oregon)
Tons of TV shows are shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, which is over the border from Washington State.
Seattle itself has incredible food, lovely locals and a LOT of history, just depends on what you're into in terms of historical tours or sightseeing. Metro Seattle is pricey, beware.

I remember the day the Necco factory closed... Sometime later, rumors began to swirl that another company had acquired the rights and would reintroduce them soon... Or I could pay $20 a roll on Amazon.
Smarties are a bit sweet, but I'll pick some up while I'm out looking. I was thinking maybe Good N Plenties could work, too.

NO WAY!!! Smarties are still my favorite! I eat them 3 little tabs at a time. I have to be careful because I can go through them quick. I love the texture and how they I'm able to crush them in my mouth. Everyone knows I love Smarties and I get them all the time as gifts.
I recently discovered "candy cigarettes" too. I love the way they snap off in little cylinders.

I remember candy cigarettes! Especially the bubblegum kind you could actually make "smoke" with.
I also have a vague childhood memory of getting a wax harmonica that you could (sort of) play before eating. Not the best tasting candy.
Oh, and Fun Dip. It was a stick made of sugar that you dunked into packets of flavored sugar. Great.

What's the name of that candy that's sorta like a tootsey roll but with caramel. They're peanut crumbles on the inside. It's like what you would get if you crushed a chico stick and then wrapped it with chewy caramel.

Bats and mantis eat them too.

Full disclosure: I used to eat what we called "nownladers" back in the day, only as an adult did I actually see the name of the candy was "now and laters" but people would open the pack and trade the little squares around. Some of them had been in 10 backpacks and pockets by the time they got eaten ... yuck. I owe like half my immune system to eating those.
