Anxiety disorder kicking my ass recently. Lost about ten pounds, grinding my teeth and clenching my jaw to the point where it's causing other kinds of pain. Also got pulled over for the first in my life (no ticket, though). I think I'm handling it better than in the past. Lucky to have a great doc who responds to texts within an hour.

Have you tried a mouth guard?
I got one from Amazon that seems to work fairly well. There's been talk of a custom appliance, but I don't even want to know what that costs.
At first, I was really freaked out about a toothache, but it's likely TMJ. It's been over a month and hasn't gotten worse, so I'm trying not to panic (which makes everything worse).

I use a $20 mouth guard from Walmart and it works fine. I've been using it for years and haven't had any problems. I don't understand how a custom one costing hundreds of dollars is any better.
You should see a dentist for your toothache. That's the only way to know for sure if it's serious or not. Do you know that you have TMJ?

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when city people whose only ‘exposure’ to pigs was reading Charlotte’s Web come onto a working farm and want to pet the pigs, thinking they’re docile creatures. Rest assured, swine - wild, feral, or domestic - will fuck your day up in a very bad way. They are horrid creatures, and don’t think that because your Vietnamese potbellied pig shows no aggression towards you (the breeding of swine as companion animals is a relatively recent thing) that it means you can expect the same platitudes from livestock or feral swine.
I grew up on a working farm. There is a reason I feel no sympathy for this little piggy.

I guess the custom model ensures an exact fit, maybe even for daytime use. I'm almost positive it's TMJ. The pain (more discomfort, really) has been intermittent over the last couple months and hasn't really gotten much worse. It usually seems to come from the jaw itself more than the tooth. I can chew and drink hot/cold beverages without issue. Plus I have the hallmark symptoms like cracking jaw. I'm seeing a physical therapist and they are treating it as such. An ENT would be the next step, since my main symptoms are really tinnitus and dizziness.
If money were no object I'd go to the dentist anyway. But it is, of course.

I picked up prescriptions at Safeway and discovered they had given me someones else's information sheet. This sheet contains:
Their name
Date of birth
Phone number
Address
Doctor info
And the prescription itself... Viagra.
I called the pharmacy and they didn't seem to think it was a big deal. The sheet for my prescription, Xanax, was missing so I don't know if someone else has that. I don't care if anyone knows I take Xanax, but this is a HUGE privacy violation and I'm wondering if I should do something about it.

I wish we had nifty license plate options like other states. My old roommate who moved to Colorado passed up the veteran plates and got this one instead

Granted, I think the basic North Carolina plate is a bit more ornate than the basic plate from most states, but I want a plate like that one.
I’m having license plate envy.

But… do you see the paw with the silhouette of the dog and the cat?
I actually find it hilarious with my old roommate… pretty rough character, been in combat, has killed people (doesn’t see it as a source of pride/bragging rite and gets pissed off when others make it out to be, just acknowledges it), and yet just turns into this complete softy for animals. Especially when he found out I have Beagle, because he has a particular soft spot for those and really from what I’ve seen any other type of Hound.

There was a period of time where North Carolina had switched to red letter plates rather than blue letters, and I arrived as they were exhausting those.
http://www.15q.net/us4/nc08.jpg
(Pulled from the Internet, not my actual plate number). I still use my original red letter plate on my Impala, and I have the basic blue letter plate on my pickup. They have specialty plates here, including Afghanistan vet and Purple Heart plates (both of which I’m eligible for), but I stay away from those. One, because it’s not really something I look back on fondly, and two because my parents don’t know about any of that and I don’t want them to find out. Telling my sister the truth about that was bad enough. She still likes to go to IHOP, but refuses to go to the one where I told her about that.

I'm in a bitch mood. I bought this hotel room for that cop loser and I wouldn't be refunded once it was purchased....SO I came back to use this room and this guy happily sends all his work info WHATEVER and it's from 2 years ago and has no updated info showing up 20 minutes in advance. I'm tired of shady shit. Also, the hotel saw me rebook and put me back in the same room. Surprise Surprise.....they only changed out the fucking trash cans which I feel is for condoms and left the room looking like crap instead of putting me in another room. I've been looking into a long term option because I don't want to feel like crap/worried anymore by hotel staff or feel uncomfortable.

I think "slept like a baby" is one of the dumbest sayings ever. Whoever came up with it must've been either a childless individual with no experience being around and caring for a real, human baby before or a man whose better half did all of the child-rearing so they have no clue. When people tell me that they slept like a baby, I'm always the smart ass that says,"You mean you woke up every other hour throughout the night, crying because you pissed or shit your pants or was hungry?"

Yeah, there are so many other expressions that would make more sense. "I slept like a rock...like a log...like I drank a bottle of Benadryl...like a college kid who'd been partying Friday night....." :P

I think some expressions make people anxious. I said once I was going to "dirt nap" sleep so hard after work once and my boyfriend disliked how that idea sounded. Too morbid sounding I guess.

Speaking of expressions, the thing now everyone is saying is "It's the _____ for me."
Like when my cousin posted a video of her uncle dancing, in the video she's cheering and shouting "IT'S THE FOOTWORK FOR ME!"
If someone's watching a video of a cute baby giggling, they might say "It's the giggles for me!"
My aunt and I were talking about how annoying it is that everybody's saying this all the time now. Haha. It's become an overused expression...sorta like how people tend to overuse "literally."
"I was literally laughing my ass off." Lol. Really now?
"I live literally right next door to The White House." Lol. No, you live in Baltimore City... :P

I had trouble getting Bluetooth to connect to my car stereo this morning, so I ended up flipping through radio stations, and I came across this song which went, “it’s raining men, hallelujah”. And I know it wasn’t meant to be taken literally, but thinking about it in a literal sense, it has some pretty horrific implications. I mean, if it were literally raining men, the only reason to shout “hallelujah” about it would be because you either seriously hate men or because you seriously love gore.
Granted, some probably would survive. Humans have survived falling from impressive heights before. And maybe the odds would be better over, say, the Everglades, but certainly not over an urban area. And those who did survive probably wouldn’t be ready to gird their loins for some time after the falls. And the mental picture which formed in my mind of this certainly didn’t help, because it was basically a rehash of the movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs except, rather than food, it was screaming, terrified humans rapidly plunging towards their demise, completely powerless to do anything to stop it.
DeathAndTaxes
05-03-2021, 08:56 AM
At a certain point objects in an atmosphere reach terminal velocity due to air resistance matching gravity, human beings free falling reach a top speed in around 7 seconds, so if you fall from a really tall building it is almost the same as falling off an airplane. Also, water won't save you at those speeds it is as strong as concrete it is safer to aim for hay or even a car. That said the odds of survival are still less than 1% probably closer to .1% either way.
