All I know is...as a parent I sat here and listened to kiddo tell me how her day went and how scared she was. She was on Skype with friends last nite, and they all were scared too. You can blow it off by saying its just a simple panic and devalue their feelings about fearing for their safety and mock them by saying theyre just wearing tin foil hats as if these kids are just conspiracists. But as a parent, Im both heartbroken and angry that my kid, and her friends, and knowing there are other kids around the country who didnt want to go to school today because they were too scared to.

And mind you, my kid is not and never has been one to use anything as an excuse to get out of going to school. Shes now a sophomore, a gifted honors student, likes being able to see her friends, and since her first day of school has not been one to fake being sick or make excuses to get out of going. So for my kid to say the rumors have her worried and shed like to stay home does concern me.

I think its really sad, I dont know the solution, but blowing it off because of statistics and politicial views and what you think isnt possible doesnt change the impact of the kids and teachers who have to deal with the rumours and their feelings about whether or not it can happen to them too. Kind of heartless to just blow it off like a non-event...theyre just kids, and shouldnt have to feel that way.

Because Obama is an evil, Kenyan-born, socialist Nazi dictator who wants to disarm the populace, tax millionaire's at 99% to fund iPads for welfare queens, send your grandparents to death panels and force everyone to have gay abortions. Duh!

Gay abortions are going to ruin this society because then it will pressure others to have gay abortions too.

Seriously though I dislike a lot of what Obama is doing but this is the same of Bush too (and other presidents). Bush after all signed the Patriot Act with help from both parties. As soon as people realize both parties are out to screw the American public the better.

Why are you so scared of the government? What indications has the government given you that they are considering becoming some sort of omnipotent dictatorship and enslaving American citizens?

The concept is such a long shot that it hardly warrants discussion.

"Pass it then read it " legislation

A president asking for the right to unilaterally and unconstitutionally raise debt ceiling

National surveillance

Permanent, no lawyer/no judge jailing and possible gitmo for SUSPECTED'terrorists'

A society that values safety over liberty. Who believes'if you didnt do anything wrong, you have nothing to fear'

Heck, all FEMA needs is a good excuse...uh emergency to suspend most liberties.

An interesting read from someone who probably has more knowledge and experience in this area that all of us combined.
