Hi Classy Katy,

^ Yes, that has been my experience (raising my prices=attracting better customer). I was really helped and encouraged by these 2 threads: "Raise Your Rates Challenge" and "Please Stop Being Cheap."

The ladies really, really helped me with my confidence and giving me insight into this business.

I hope it goes well for you. :-)

Thanks for posting the link - SM drives me nuts because half the time I can't find all the contract stuff on the site, even when I AM logged in! Snarl.

So technically, we CAN watermark, as long as it isn't considered to be giving out personal info, or giving anyone out-of-site contact info, or promoting another site. Simple way around it then, watermark with your SM name.

And they can't ban you for "splitcamming" just because you are running the software - they have to prove that you are actually on another site at the same time.

PHEW!

And yes, OP - RAISE THOSE RATES!! You may be surprised by how much more you earn...and with how much less effort!

Hi Bonsaiblossom, I wouldn't worry about asking them for anything. I don't think they would put you on a shit list or anything like that after a one-day suspension and your follow-up correspondence.

Actually, unless we keep them on their toes, it might get worse.

I think the management of the company is so arrogant they truly believe they are infallible. They seriously believe the money will keep rolling in no matter how badly they treat people, including the customers.

Not true. Everything comes to an end, as evidenced by Mr. Top Dog at SM getting hit with personal income tax evasion charges (I think) and probably a bunch of other stuff.

In conclusion, bother them as much as you want because you have to do what's best for you.

He does read this forum, just FYI.

But you're right, no one in support connects one thing with another, from my experience. And why would they deny you a rate raise? It's not hurting them any. Also, it's in your contract that you can charge as much as you want, you just can't go below the set minimum.

I was thinking of being on another site at the same time but using 2 laptops and webcams rather than split camming! I'd have to take photo to prove it then.

If your SM name is an ID elsewhere, it could be a problem watermarking with it...

I just wanted to throw out there that I've had nothing but 100% positive experiences from the upper level people at Streamate, including Shawn himself. They have always been super helpful and addressed my concerns as quick as possible. The general support can be frustrating, which is why I don't even bother with them at this point and go straight to higher ups.

This actually did not happen to the owner of Streamate as we know it to be, aka Shawn. It was the own of Manwin who, at this point, CANNOT be confirmed to have purchased Streamate. As much as I love Melonie, the thread she created was misleading and purely based on her speculation that Manwin has purchased Streamate, which it looks highly unlikely that that has happened at this point.

How does one contact the helpful, or higher up people at SM? I've talked to Liz once, but that's it.

I was not referring to Shawn. I don't know anything about Shawn and really my life is fine for it. Melonie's thread did not factor in my statements either.

I clearly should have edited my comments much, much more carefully. Frankly I knew that when I joined this forum. I did not mean for my comments to reflect on anyone's personal judgment or business relationships they may or may not have. For that I apologize.

The dude I was talking about is probably in big, big trouble. I'm not going to do an exhaustive analysis of organizational development, but if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck.....

Legal and securities research yields a pretty good list of complaints, accusations and criminal charges (not just in the US) involving many people affiliated with Streamate over an extended period of time. This is not just one incident.

With some of these people, trouble just seems to follow them around. They can be as nice as pie to me in their interactions, but I still have a problem with the way some of these people live in the world.

Add this to my personal experiences? Well, well....

You are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine.

I think you and I are talking about two different people.

If he does read here, fine. I am not going to worry about that. This is a forum for camgirls so I use it for that.

You were referring to "Mr. Top dog at Streamate" being hit with tax evasion charges. One can only assume you are referring to the same thing Melonie was in her thread on Industry Insight... which is full of inaccurate and/or misleading information. The "top dog" at Streamate didn't get hit with tax evasion charges, rather the "top dog" at Manwin did. These are two different people. And if you are not talking about Shawn as being "Mr. Top Dog" or the owner of Streamate, then who are you talking about? Because Shawn owns Streamate. This is not a secret.

I'm all for people having different "opinions" on things... but you have to base your opinions off of something... and this:

Legal and securities research yields a pretty good list of complaints, accusations and criminal charges (not just in the US) involving many people affiliated with Streamate over an extended period of time. This is not just one incident.

...is a pretty big "opinion". So I'm very curious, where do you get this information from? If it were true, I think we would all like to know.

Sarah,

I already apologized for my misstep.

You are making a huge leap when you assume I am considering Melonie's thread for anything I post.

That's it. I will not tell you where and how I found this info but it's public record and it's out there.

If Shawn or anyone else in the company has a problem with what I wrote, then I'll address it then.

Besides this, debating you is pointless. I do not owe you or anyone else an explanation.

LOL

Well okay then. You post this on a public forum, I'm not saying you owe me or anyone else an explanation. What I'm saying is when you make statements such as the ones you have made, people might be interested in you elaborating. And even if you were not referring to the thread Melonie posted, you are CLEARLY referring to the same thing which is SM's owner being supposedly busted on tax evasion charges which simply did not happen no matter how much your "opinion" tells you it did.

But hey it's your "opinion", so whatever. :)

Sarah, I will not respond to you because you are being rude and condescending on a level that is inappropriate.

Look at what you just wrote. Why would I want to interact with that in any way?

You are angry and I doubt it has anything to do with me.

Huh?

How convenient for you to delete your post of

"LOL thats right"

Is that to make you appear as tho you are not actually the one being rude here? I can't imagine any other reason for you deleting your comments.

I don't think anything in my post is rude... I was simply asking you where you got the information you are putting out there because I think it's information people who work for Streamate would want to know about. You're the one who refuses to tell where it came from, adding that it's pointless to debate me. And I'm the rude one?

I was not trying to "debate" you in the first place, rather I was trying to discuss something you brought up in this thread and gather more information about it. If you don't care to share what you base your opinions on, fine.

As far as being angry... you can't possibly be serious? I realize it is hard to determine a persons tone while reading text but I hardly think mine comes off as angry. And again, you imply I'm angry about something that has nothing to do with you... and I'M the rude one???

And as far as not responding to me, well, you just did. So.... okay then. I'm not going to risk being pointed for drama which you are CLEARLY trying to start at this point, so if you choose to reply then you can have the last word.

Take care.

since this thread has taken a totally new direction and the OP's situation has been resolved (with awesome extra info from everyone, y'all are awesome) I'm gonna close it. Whether Manwin has purchased sm or not (and there is NO conclusive proof that Thylmann/Manwin purchased sm) isn't really relevant here.

I'm guessing the 'higher ups' at sm probably don't want their info to be posted in public, but I really hope those with connections share that info with those who need it through PM

peace and $$$$ y'all
