Daylight spectrum bulbs are good in general, even if you don't look great in real daylight. Cameras in general are calibrated to be used in daylight (even webcams, as ridiculous as that sounds). If you take a camera out in the real sunlight, and there isn't any auto-adjustment (such as you get on your phone camera), you'll usually get a picture/video that looks pretty blue. That's ok, because the white balance adjustments are made to handle that type of light. You can adjust the warmth to get a color range that we normally think of as "naturally sunny" or even a "lovely sunset glow."

The problem with soft white, pink, or most incandescent type light ranges is that no matter how much you fuck with your camera settings, they simply don't work optimally with "inside lighting." You might get an overly pink, yellow, or green cast that is nearly impossible to eliminate.

LEDs are usually the best value over time, but they can get expensive upfront, so it might be best to try out some daylight spectrum CFL bulbs first to make sure you like them. The other time when CFLs are better is if you have any very delicate lamps, such as light-weight, clip-on garage lamps that balance precariously on top of your monitor - LED bulbs are significantly heavier, so best to stick with CFLs for that sort of situation. Since they use very low wattage, you can get very high powered bulbs and safely plug them into most standard lights.

So I saw someone posting about how you can't expect to make amazing money by staring at your feed in lingerie or on your phone for hours...I've been at this for 3 weeks and honestly I'm not sure what else I should be doing besides engaging the people who enter my room, having my toys on display, and trying to sell them? I know vids/pic sets help, but other than that..?

Being able to sell with an outgoing personality, while keeping good communication with customers. Many models viewed on the two top rows seem to have down good clients and consistency in updated content. It can help changing your outfit every once in a while, if you are staying on for more than 3/5 hours. I've seen plenty of models do very well by not saying a word in their public chat, some prefer keeping this strictly pvt/Excl. The main thing is to talk about anything within the rules, things that may be off the chart or scripted prior to streaming.

Ya I don't get it either bc I wear the same thing every time bc I get compliments on it & it's sexy. I have soft music playing in the background & I do try to engage these customers with a bubbly personality at first , bullshit for a few mins then try to close a sale. I just hate it that when I do this, they tend to leave my room if I'm trying to get them into private if they start engaging me in either dirty talk or telling me how much they like me. I always tell them to tip me please whenever they ask me to stand or to see my outfit but then they leave. Some are better than others though.

^I've found that standing and showing my body when a few new people enter the room helps to keep them there. I just do some sexy moves/poses. I do this on SM and Chaturbate.

I also wear the same outfits most of the time, too... a bra and panties... sometimes I'll put a cute shirt over everything and tie it like a crop top, which the guys seem to like. Easiest/cheapest outfit ever, hehe. :)

I'm very thankful for trying SM this time around. I gave camming a go a few years ago and made almost no money on MFC. 99% of the women in the top tier/front page don't look like women at all. If you look young, this isn't an attack, and good for you for doing that well, but that site seriously made me feel like shit for not looking young enough, which is crazy because I'm in my early 20's!! The casual pedophiles or "ageplayers" are rampant. Really disturbing.

The amount of men I encounter between this and dancing that act like women over 25 might as well be 70 to them is pretty terrifying. Eugh

These guys will jack off looking at your ceiling. Whenever I get a silent room I turn my cam up. I'm always amazed at how many stay in the room. I guess some guys are into popcorn ceilings?

Should you use the same username SM, MFC, Twitter, Snap, ect or should you change to something else? (Don't want to deal with copyright violations) Thinking of re-creating a new MFC under Lil_Bambi, but submitting documents and waiting for pending is always a hassle. Will this cause issues using the same name over and over?

I am so glad that I found this thread!! You have no idea! I just hope someone can actually help me lol. I am about to start camming on SM. And long story short, I have never really thought of myself as sexy and I don't really even know what to do when i start! What do I say? What do I do? I know about the tech I will need and I have little outfits and I even purchased wigs and a sexy little lace mask to hide my identity as much as possible, but it also makes me feel more mysterious. ANYWAY! I have been watching other girls but it wont let me view their private shows without paying, so I am still unsure. Any suggestions? Its not so much that I am uncomfortable with my body or anything, I am just a bit inexperienced. Any tips, tricks or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! <3

^ I just dove right in & acted as sexy as I could. I was just as clueless as you are hun, but after ALL the research thru this section of this forum I was finally able to grasp the concept of what I was doing & made sure I was following all the rules for every site I was on. SM was really easy for me to learn actually. Just dive in already! :) Good Luck!

I was wondering if camming will have an affect on getting my license for my future career as a therapist? Do they do an extensive background check? Is it possible to erase my fake cam model identity off the internet once im done with college? I recently found that a customer recorded one of my shows and posted it on a tube site and now im working on getting it taken off but now im a little paranoid. I know that this was one of the risks of being a cam model but I did not think it would affect this particular profession.

Hi girls, I have a question about payments but I have no idea where to post it.

I have been on imlive for a while and their check company is WMC. Do you guys happen to know what other sites are using checks and do you know what companies they use?

An answer would be appreciated.
Thanks.:)

Question about VPN and sites that track location. I am trying to keep my profiles away from my town.

Hello everyone,
I live in a small town 70 miles outside of Chicago. I'm starting back up in the adult cam/porn world and see that twitter, facebook, tumblr, instagram and snapchat are big players in advertising. However, when I tried to use these last time I was working, my profile would show up in people from my home towns "people you may know" area of their accounts. Even though I used another address and zip in the profiles. Now I have Ghost VPN, the paid account and it hides me quite a bit but I am wondering if anyone has experience with this.

I have rented a studio in Chicago to use for shooting and cam shows and my computer will be there in another zip code but I do bring my Ipad back and forth from home though and I don't use my cell phone for anything "work" related. I have the same VPN on all of them. My computer originally was at my house so it may have tracking cookies already. I haven't signed up for any accounts yet. I was thinking of re formatting my computer completely and then signing up for the accounts while the VPN is active.

Does anyone know first hand if this will be enough to keep my account away from my hometown? Or maybe if I don't access those accounts on my Ipad since it goes back and forth? I know facebook and twitter would always find me in my hometown prior to the VPN. Not sure how invasive the others are.

I also want to use Snapchat but do not want it to post my location either. Can you manually add the location it when you take pictures, or leave it blank?fam

I would love some help on this. I want to keep this away from my kids schools and step son's Mother.

I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.

xoxo

Do a speed test and see what your speeds are. I believe slower speeds are more difficult on some sites like SM but easier on other sites.

How To Stay Safe On The Internet https://boleynmodels.com/cammodels-how-to-stay-safe-online/ref/105

And then a couple of different threads on VPN. But mostly using different devices with different isp's is the best way to prevent this. Only use your adult stuff on its on computer. Or just use your adult stuff on its own mobile device

Take a look at the skype directory sites. Like Skyprivate (https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?184397-SkyPrivate-New-Payment-Option&highlight=skyprivate) and Cammodeldirectory (https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?187026-The-CamModel-Directory-Thread&highlight=cammodel+directory). Both are on the BoleynModels (https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?189264-The-BoleynModels-InstantPay-Thread&highlight=skyprivate) daily pay network. Also Cams.com doesn't require much bandwidth. SM is the worst site to use when you have shitty internet. At least it is if you're trying to use an encoder.

The only site that I know of that enforces this is mygirlfund. You aren't allowed to use the same name there as you do on other sites. This will not be a problem for MFC and SM. If you decide to stop working one of the two your guys will know how to find you without you having to tell them. Also it helps if your social media accounts are also under the same name. Then they can follow you and know where you're gonna be.

how long do you veterans chat with someone before you decide they're not going pvt and ignore them? I've noticed some guys will go right away, but others want me to chat with them 15 minutes in free chat before they do anything. when I was dancing I would give guys 2-3 songs or about 5-10 minutes before I moved on. Is camming just a slower hustle or are they trying to get more free attention since I'm newbie?

Arwen25
10-20-2016, 08:59 AM
To be honest, I really think it depends.
Generally speaking, I find when they start asking too many questions, it's a sign they're a freeloader and trying to get off without paying.

Ill normally give them "Where are you from?" and "do you do dominant role play", I'll smile and answer. But when they start getting to "What have you got on?" "Panties?" "What do you think of guys with tiny cocks?" "What's your favourite position?" That's when I go in for the kill. "I will show you exactly how in pvt/exclusive etc." If it gets to a stage where you think they may be getting off for free, that's where you need to remind them that it's pay to play. :)

I have a question, can't find an answer on the forum search. Do Skype close accounts which are being used for camming? I keep getting "there is a problem with you Microsoft account" when I try to sign on to my camming one. It never happens with my regular account. Help! I am stuck, as I keep on having to set up a new one. :( xx

I ask hey babe are you wanting a cam show? If so please let me know where you found me and how long you'd like to play for? If they answer this straight away and to the point then I accept their request, confirm what he wants, then get him to go pay. If they don't answer this simple question right away I just delete their request. If they respond but say something other than directly about buying a show there and then I'll give them one minute of my time before I delete their request. I'm prob not the best to follow the lead of as I get less indie shows than most probably, but I'm too busy making money elsewhere to faff about with time wasters. The ones who are serious will respect your time, tell you what they want, and pay, all within a few mins at most x

This question is about tempering expectations for private shows.

I'm running into an issue where I'll try to get a guy who wants to go private to tell me ahead of time what he's looking for. Often they will say things like, "Whatever you feel like", or "I just want to see you cum." Then they take me private and start telling me specific things to do or say. I'm trying to figure out if all guys generally expect a director's style show, or are these guys just being jerks by not specifying?

I'm pretty sure this got me downvoted the other day, because one guy telling me what to do out of nowhere brought me out of my comfort zone and out of the mood, and the session was awkward. He wanted me to "beg him to cum in me" which really threw me off. I would actually enjoy doing that if it were my idea, but I just wasn't expecting to have to play that kind of character at that moment. Am I being unreasonable to not offer dirty talk at the drop of a hat? For me it's like, if you really want to see me cum, it won't happen while you are telling me what to do and putting me on a time limit. If they want dirty talk, ok, but don't expect me to cum on que (clearly stated in my profile that I do not magically cum on demand).
Faking it is difficult for me - I think they can see right through it.

What are your thoughts on this? Not sure if I should be extra clear up front, or if I should just work harder to be able to do whatever they say. I really hate being submissive but also don't really want to domme. My appeal is more like "that hot chick you know that is funny and you sext with sometimes." It seems a bit weird that they expect me to be a pro porn star when they came to a site that is all about the girl next door. The majority of guys get it and may ask for a certain toy or angle (totally fine by me) so I don't want to turn these guys off by seeming inflexible. Am I being too inflexible ?

I'm kinda in the same boat. I feel really weird dirty talking out loud. Actually I feel weird talking out loud at all when they're typing..I'd rather just type too..I only talk out loud in private for the most part. It's getting a little easier the more I do it so I'm hoping it'll just become second nature after a while and not feel so forced and awkward. :s

The majority of guys get it and may ask for a certain toy or angle (totally fine by me) so I don't want to turn these guys off by seeming inflexible. Am I being too inflexible ?
First off, you should be as flexible or inflexible as you want within your own comfort zone. If something makes you uncomfortable, you should never feel that you need to "work harder to be able to do whatever they say." There is no wrong answer in terms of what your limits are.

That said, you need to be able to communicate your limits effectively. If you don't offer services that are pretty standard, you probably need to put that in your profile and make it known to the customers. Frankly, I think what you're encountering are pretty normal expectations on the guys' part. Part of the reason that guys pay cam models in the first place is to see a woman they like doing the sexy things they want. So if this is a true private (1-on-1), I think most guys assume that they get some ability to direct (within reason). If you don't want to allow that, it's perfectly fine, but you need to make that clear.

You probably ought to figure out which part of the request really bothered you, so you can have a policy against it.
~ Do you just dislike dirty talk in general? If so, you probably need to post "I don't offer dirty talk" on your profile, because most guys expect that dirty talk is a basic part of our services.
~ Do you dislike taking requests? If so, that also needs to be explained on your profile, since the general expectation is that you're offering interactive sessions.
~ Do you feel that you can't cum during the show if they are directing you? Maybe when guys tell you that they want to see you cum, let them know that you need to do it your way, so you won't be taking requests. Or ask them to give you their requests at the beginning, explaining that you want to include them, but once you start, you'll need to focus on cumming, not taking requests.

Another thought for you... I think a lot of "director type" guys claim that they want to see you cum, but that's not really their top priority. They really want to see whatever they ask for, and if you cum, that's a bonus. I have a hard time cumming when I'm riding, so if a guy "wants to see me cum" but asks for riding, I'll just ride until he cums. Most of the time they give me great feedback and don't seem to notice or care that I didn't cum.

Also, most of these guys couldn't spot a fake orgasm if it kicked them in the nuts.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for! :)

For me camming is full of a bunch of challenges and really isn't my ideal career choice, but I have medical issues that keep me from being able to hold down a 9-5.. so I already have a lot stacked against me as far as my comfort level is concerned. I am never nude in free chat, for example, so the only reason I even offer privates is because some guys aren't happy with what I'm offering in my ticket shows and/or want some individual attention. That being said, I can really enjoy and be turned on by someone that I have a rapport with so privates would be useful to someone who is looking for a genuine connection versus a wham bam performance, so I'm trying to market to these customers- but am quickly realizing that is not the norm and even if I think my angle is obvious, I'm going to have to be way clearer about my limits.

I'm also thinking that even though it is annoying and a potential waste of time, I should try to get to know these guys a little before going private. If I at least have something to grab onto, it will help. It's bizarre to me to beg someone to cum in me when they have told me nothing anout themselves or what they like aside from this specific phrase. So that's really on me :) This is all one big learning experience and I am going to have to take a hard look at this and figure out how to move forward in a way that keeps me feeling okay but is also lucrative.

I can relate to a lot of this. My general hustle/appeal is also sort of that "cool chick that you have weird/interesting conversations with, and also fuck sometimes" which sounds similar to your "hot chick you know that is funny and you sext with sometimes." A lot of my regulars are attracted to that kind of laid back, relatable personality. Those are the types of guys that will take me private for a half hour or more, and start slow with a conversation that eventually leads to a more natural sexual rapport.

However, I also get a lot of random quickie privates, where the guy has zero interest in making a connection and simply goes private because he likes the way I look or sound, and wants me to do generic pornographic things. It really isn't worth trying to "get to know them" before a private, otherwise you might lose them entirely. Basically I just learned to go along with it (within my own personal boundaries). Don't be worried about them seeing through you faking it. With those kinds of guys, they won't care. They just want to selfishly get off and don't care about your authenticity. It took a while for me to get used to flat out faking it and being really contrived with the dirty talk for these kinds of guys, but it's worth the money especially when my regulars who want to see the "genuine me" aren't around.

I think it's just a matter of learning how to cater to both kinds of customers. I'm basically my authentic self in free chat, but I'll still put on an act for certain types of customers once we're in private. It's your choice whether or not you want to be "fake" in some shows, but frankly, if you don't learn to do that, you're going to lose out on a lot of money/customers.

Edited to add: If you're having trouble coming up with dirty talk on the spot, just repeat whatever they're typing to you from your perspective (like if he says "I wanna fuck that pussy so hard", you can literally just say "Oh yeah, you wanna fuck that pussy so hard?") and he'll probably think it's super hot. Seriously, most of these guys have ridiculously low standards for that kind of thing. Just verbally acknowledging the fact that he's dirty talking to you (like "Mmm, that's hot") is enough for a lot of guys. You can also narrate whatever you're doing to yourself.

Thanks so much for your thoughts on this! Thanks to the lovely ladies of this forum, and a few days to think about it, I think I'm getting a grasp on what I need to do to move forward effectively. That guy blindsided me because I'm pretty new and it was the first private season I had that went like that. Next time I'll be more prepared. My other sessions were more from guys who get what I'm there for and are maybe a little more woken up. :) I used to cam years ago and did anything anyone asked just about, but the burnout was BAD, so I'm trying to avoid that, but I think in pursuit of that I'm shooting myself in the foot.

I really appreciate the dirty talk tips! It's so awkward for me but I need to be able to roll with the punches. I've been with my husband for 7 years and he hates dirty talk. I mean really hates it! So I'm a fish out of water. Combine that with major social anxiety and you get one super awkward cam session.

I have realized that maybe I'm being a bit of a baby about it because I just don't like that guys assume and expect things from us without asking. I already cater to a number of unique tastes: I have a body like Amber Rose, porcelain pale skin, tattoos, and am an unshaven redhead with a constant smile on my face, has interesting things to say, and I even do anal stuff. Yet they also expect me to be Mrs. Professional Porn Lady on top of that?? And expect me to be available all the time, and offer a bunch of videos/panties/extras, etc. I understand them *hoping* for an all-in-one girl but it seems they should not just assume... especially since I'm on Chaturbate of all places, but hey, it is what it is and I can either be upset about it or just use that info to my advantage and move forward.

My initial thought is "I don't get paid enough to do all that", but it seems like it's kind of part of the deal so would be unfair to charge extra for dirty talk and requests. I mean I could but I don't think I would be very successful. :). I think as I get more experience (and more money in general), I will get more and more comfortable. Thanks again!

I'm sooo with you. I just feel so un-sexy when I'm dirty talking. It's like I'm just doing a bad porn impression and I've honestly never been with a guy who wanted me to be "that girl". It's just odd. I do great at night when I do "shhh" shows but the problem with that is I have a bunch of guys who pester me to get back online when I can make noise, but on their schedule. So it's not really conducive to building regulars since the guys are just waiting for some night that I'll be on there and talking.

Good luck to you! The struggle is real. :)

Ladies, can I get your advice on something... Which sites do you think would be good for me? I don't have my own traffic, I don't have best equipment, I do pretty good on token sites (but I hate CB -.-), I'm pretty good looking.
That site has to have payoneer and country blocking. I always type on cam, dance and tease a little, sometimes i show only my body. I don't have time to try every site out there so please give me advice.
I tried SM but my laptop can't handle it. I have 2mb upload speed. I like private based sites but only one I tried was SM and I didn't do good at all there, I think bcs of my equipment.

You can try cams.com you can get away with slower internet and equipment there. Its a private based site that also has an option for working in free chat for tokens. Honestly it gets kind of confusing with so many options, but its possible to make money there.

So....I want to find a male to cam with me for about a week just to do a special week event and shoot some content. I already looked up what I need to do and printed a model release for the content but....how do I find a sane male? The guys in my life are non existent as far as a bf and most of the others guys I know would be too into the idea and I'm not trying to make this a messy situation. Any tips?

Hey!
I'm brand new to this world but looking to get started in camming on SM. So I've made an account and have been watching some of the higher up girls shows. Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm not sure what all of the abbreviations mean when they are listing what they do in privates and exclusive. Could someone help me out? Example: POV, JOI, dp, and such. Thanks in advance ladies, you rock!

Pov Point Of View, this means you angle your camera to make it appear as though the customer is the camera. Great for blowjob shows
JOI Jerk Off Instructions. This varies depends on the customer. Some of them want a countdown to the moment he pops, others want you aggressively tell them how to stroke it etc just ask them how they like it
DP double penetration a dildo in the cooch while you have another in the poop shoot. In porn it means real penises instead of dildos

So I've gone through the threads for this but I can't really find anything on my issue specifically. I'm trying to get content removed from RedTube under copyright infringement and they are basically dragging me through email after email. I've included the URL, made sure they know it's my content and that it was uploaded without my permission and they basically keep sending me emails saying they need the information again or they're not going to take down the videos. What do I do? Is this just the way it is now with people stealing our vids and the porn sites resisting removing the content?

I've been looking around but having been able to find out what this means. I've been seeing people say it everywhere. "Tip Vibe" or "Tip activate Vibe", can anyone enlighten me on what this phrase refers to? Thanks!

There are interactive toys which can be activated by tips. A lot of models use them on token sites like mfc and chaturbate. The two main brands are ohmibod and lovense (which is better :))

Ohmybod is a sound activated tip vibrator with 5 speed settings that are controlled with a mini 3 button remote. If you place the device in front of a speaker turned to full volume, then it definitely works! Playing music in the background and having the volume slightly under blaring, I couldn't feel a thing. Middle is for sound, bottom for regular use and the top functions to change the speed. Lovense is a similar build however, runs on an app that can custom waves or give another control from a distance with greater strength and better material. Expect the Ohmybod remote to die every 10/20 minutes, unless you order a case of 23A/12v batteries. (Lovense I commonly see more on MFC than SM)

Hey y'all, I tried to sit back and research the forums to find the answers to my newbie questions. But I had little luck but a few chuckles. So I'll get down to it. I'm a newbie in the entire sense of the word. I joined extralunchmoney but after two days on there I had an abundance of requests for custom anal videos and the like but no one wanted to $$$. A lot of the girls were selling 10 min videos for 10 credits or less. And that seemed like a little bit cheap to me. I (after reading the snapchat/KiK threads) offered a monthly deal for KiK but most that inquired were trying to get me to message them ON KiK to discuss my terms, even though I very clearly stated them. Or I got requests for "full nude free samples".....so they could decide if I was worth the credits. I get im new but I knew that's was a scam right off. I would love to credit those in SW threads for their comments that ultimately was my guidance. I ended up deactivating extralunchmoney because of low ballers, being harassed for fetishes I'm not into and people just trying to chat or not pay up.>:( with that being said, I joined MGF but am waiting to be verified. I do have all day to devote to the site, within reason of course, but is it a good starting place for a 1000000% new girl like myself? I'd really like to start somewhere and bring in some money. My husband makes great money, and I don't have to work but i want to (but don't wanna leave our daughter). Gosh, that sounded Bragg and I didn't mean for it to. Sorry, anyway. How about pay out? I seen on extralunchmoney it was a 60/40 split, plus $5 for direct deposit. Is that better or worse here? I'm certainly interested in direct deposit....I have a little goal of at least $50 a week. Haha. But when do you get paid?

And what is MFC? And then I read the taxes thread.....uhhhh anyone wanna shed light on that? Or should I just revisit. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read and thanks in advance to everyone that chimes in.

Ps. Feel free to drop any suggestions or tips too!

I don't feel you sound like you're bragging, because what independent woman would want to stay at home and depend on a man in this day and age? But I do feel why should I do all the research & put the time in & hand over information to you? This is a money making opportunity. I make money online. Why bother with someone who isn't serious because they don't need the money and waste my time being their little bitch? Not to sound brag but I already know how to cam.

MFC is myfreecams. I wouldn't suggest it for someone who only wants to cam occasionally. I also would not suggest extralunchmoney or MGF at all. Guys there are ridiculously cheap and I have no idea why anyone would bother with those sites any more.

Not sure what you mean when do you get paid - all sites are different. You really need to take a few days and read through all those threads I posted. It takes time and research.

Are you sure you want to have your face and body online for everyone to see if you don't even need to work? Seems to me you'd be better off finding a work-at-home job. You are risking a lot for only $50 a week. Not advisable really.

Hello, I know nothing about MGF but I will tell you that unfortunately those absurd low ball offers are normal on every site for new girls. It's like blood in the water for sharks lol. ELM does seem to have a higher amount of cheap asses than most sites but there are a few decent ones. I look at it as exactly what it says-Extra Lunch Money. There's a thread on it over in Industry Insight. I believe there is also a MGF thread on here somewhere.
Also in response to the other poster - choosing to be a stay at home mom is not anti feminist, being forced to be one is. She has every right to make whatever choices she feels are best for her and her family.
