I have a marketplace store but I just sell adult items such as adult dvds. Tsani, that is great idea to come to you for custom clothes :)

I have a marketplace store but so far I just have a bikini, tank top, and corset. Once I learn blender and how to translate 3D designs into mesh though, I may start making some adult stuff to sell. If you need anything specific that can go on clothing or applier layers I can make custom stuff.

Ok one last question for the night; Can you change the height of both the slink physique bodies?

You should be able to change all aspects of your shape with any mesh body, including height. The shape sliders won't work exactly the same as they do without a mesh body, but they are editable.

A side note to members of my Cam Girls in Second Life group here: I wanted to direct your attention to a new post I made there asking for feedback regarding opening up the group to non verified members. If you're in the group, please take a moment to read it and comment, even if you have no opinion on the matter. I don't want to just make a decision without the input of the other members of the group, especially if you've posted something that you feel shouldn't be read by non verified girls.

Another option is to create a separate group that's open to everyone.

Since you're not in the verified camgirls group, I can't add you until I get feedback from the other members about letting non verified members in to the group. Even though I chat with you on a regular basis and you're already in my group on SL. Maybe next time you're on skype I can video chat with you briefly to verify you that way? I just don't want any members of the group to feel unsafe with what they post since they posted it under the impression that it was for verified bb's only.

Or did you mean that you wanted to be added to the open group if I make one?

I am super curious about SL! Will you be running another course anytime soon, Tsani? :)

I'm kind of a noob when it comes to camming, but guess I should get verified...

I'll run another course as soon as y'all want me to. I think that my next session though will be mainly Q&A based because sticking with an outline led to a 4 hour class that didn't even cover everything. Everyone is at a different level and needs to know different things so I think I'll try the Q&A format and address the things that y'all want to know.

Also, an alternative to getting verified here (if anyone doesn't meet the requirements yet but wants to discuss SL) is to join my forums. There's a link in my siggy under "Cam Model Community" or just go to camconcierge.com/forums. There's a section called "Virtual Escorting" and that's where all the SL threads are.

Those interested in the class today at noon pacific time, just a heads up that I've been feeling under the weather lately but I still plan on being there to answer questions and help out as much as I can but I make no guarantees about how helpful I can be or if I'll need to log out early.

If any non-newbies in SL would like to come help me answer questions and help girls I would greatly appreciate it! Anyone who wasn't at the last class (or if you were and lost the landmark) and needs the SLurl to the classroom where the meeting will be held, please PM me and I'll send it to you. I just don't want to post it in the open and have a bunch of random forum lurkers show up lol.

Also, if you can't make it to the class but still would like help in-world please feel free to look up LiannLynx via the search feature in your viewer. If I'm online, I might be working a shift at a club, but you can IM me and if I'm busy we can schedule a time to get together and talk. I'm often online just bored so I may be able to help you right away. All offline IM's go to my email so go ahead and message me even if I'm offline just in case I have a free moment to come help.

Edited to add: An alternative to PMing me for the SLurl would be just contacting me in SL and asking me to teleport you there. That might be an easier option for people who are brand new to SL and aren't sure what to do with SLurls.

So, I've come to the conclusion that things would be a lot easier for everyone if SL newbies learned the basics elsewhere then came to me for classes and training for stripping, escorting, and making your avatar look super hot and stuff like that. It just takes up way too much time to learn the basics and we never end up getting to the actual making money part. So I'm gonna share some links to some places where you can go to get help and learn the basics, then you can come to me for training on other stuff and I'll be holding more focused classes in the future.

Useful Newbie Places:

New Resident Island - http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lawst%20Paradise/38/32/22
This place has everything you need to get started. Skins, shapes, hair, clothes, AO's and lots of informative stuff. There's also helpers that hang out there who are willing to help you out with what you need to get started. Some of the freebies aren't available to people whose accounts are older than 30 days though. But I highly recommend spending a good amount of time there picking up stuff and learning the ropes.

Faery Crossing - http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Aetheria/148/38/307
This place is obviously fantasy/fae themed but it's newbie friendly and has lots of helpful tutorials and freebies.

The Free Dove - http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gallii/117/91/33
A freebie place that's newbie friendly.

Also, as I've mentioned before, my forums have lots of info that I've compiled. Link is in my siggy under "Cam Model Community". You have to register to see anything but that's just to keep it a bit more private than here. All the SL info is in the Virtual Escorting section.

Future Classes/Topics:

In the future, I won't be doing SL 101 classes anymore but I will provide individual help on occasion if it's requested of me in-world. The classes that I'll be holding in SL from now on will consist of the following:

Smokin' Hot Avatar for Beginners
In this class I will teach you how to make your avatar look good enough to work in clubs and attract customers for not much money at all. This is a class for beginners so we'll focus on making your avatar look as good as possible without having a mesh body or spending too much. You'll be able to look good enough to work at many clubs or freelance, but not the higher end ones that require a pixel perfect avatar with a mesh body. This course might involve mesh feet and/or hands but not required.

Smokin' Hot Avatar: Advanced Class
This is the more advanced course where we will be taking your looks to the next level with the help of mesh! I'll show you a comparison of the different mesh bodies and teach you the basics of how to use them and find clothes for them.
A disclaimer: While having a mesh body will enable you to work at the higher end clubs and attract more clientele, it does require substantially higher start-up costs. Please keep in mind that to get your avatar to this level with a mesh body and a decent wardrobe, you will be spending anywhere from L$4,000 to L$10,000 and up ($16 to $40 USD).

Jobs in SL: How to make money!
There's way more jobs in SL than just virtual escorting. In this class I will be talking about some other ways to make money in Second Life besides stripping and escorting.

Virtual Stripping
If you want to work in adult clubs in SL you'll probably want to start with learning how to strip. Most non freelance clubs require their virtual escorts to also do dancing/stripping. In this class I'll teach you the basics of working in a club environment and how to be a virtual stripper/dancer.

Virtual Escorting
In this class I'll teach you how to have virtual sex, what's generally expected for the different kinds of escorting sessions on SL, how to price your services, and how/where to advertise yourself.

Using SL to get new Camming Customers
You don't have to use SL as just a platform for selling pixel sex, you can also use it as an advertising platform to get new customers for your cam sites or indy profiles. I'll teach you how in this class.

More info to come about when these classes will be held later on.

How long did it take those of you to build a decent avatar? I've been trying to do so with the demo previews through the website and textures to get an idea before purchasing, but it's really difficult when its in separate windows through the program. I thought it was cool having the option to walk or run around but, for about an hour all I did was get harassed by random horny dudes looking for older woman.. Anyways, how long did it take you to get the hang of everything when first starting? If others would like to connect feel free to pm and we can exchange, I'd like to learn the ropes without feeling like fresh newbie meat!

I was a newbie so long ago that I can't really remember how long it took me but it is a very steep learning curve. How far along are you? As in how much of the basics do you know? Have you checked out the links I posted in the post just above yours and visited new resident island and asked for help there?

I'm down to help people on a 1 on 1 basis but don't have much time for teaching basic basics. I can certainly answer questions and take you shopping though.

I'd like to start scheduling some of the classes I mentioned wanting to offer soon too, but this week probably won't be good and I'm not sure about the following week but I'll update here when I know.

One tip to help with the horny dudes hitting you up everywhere, in your profile, put something like "Pay to play only!" or something to get the point across that you're not gonna be a source of free sex. If they bug you just tell them to read your profile (haha does that sound familiar?) Guys will often try to get free sex from newbies because newbies sometimes don't know that they can charge for it or they think that a newbie will need some practice before charging.

How's everyone doing with getting the basics figured out? Is it time to start scheduling some of the other classes I listed in my previous (#115 in this thread) post? If so, which ones are you most interested in to start with?

Another question I wanted to bounce off of y'all: There doesn't seem to be any websites, at least that I know of, that are focused on virtual sex work other than virtualsexwork.com, which is basically just an advertisement site for Red Light Center (a different platform entirely). If I were to create a website/blog that's focused on virtual sex work in Second Life, do you think that would that be something that would be useful? I would have tutorials, information on clubs with maybe reviews and stuff, and maybe the occasional fashion blog post. I know there's tons of SL fashion and tutorial blogs out there but I haven't found any that are sex worker focused. If anyone knows of any, post 'em here so we can check them out!

Actually, Tsani, that would be very useful because I just read other virtual escorts and findom blogs but they are not sex workers. It would be very good for you to start a small blog that focus on the adult industry in Second Life and maybe give some pointers as well :)

That's another thing that's interesting with SL. Most virtual escorts there do no other form of sex work. Second Life is where I got my start camming. When I started out there, I had never heard of camming. I started out virtual stripping, then virtual escorting with text only, then working at a voice lounge, then some customers requested skype shows and one voice lounge staff member tried to recruit me into a cam studio and here we are! lol

Just a heads up to anyone booking cam shows and/or virtual escorting via Second Life:

A club I work at sent out a notice that there's been a group of hackers on SL targeting escorts. They've been emptying out lindens and inventories then changing passwords so that you can't log back in. They mainly get the info from Skype sessions so always remember to use a VPN while using Skype and be careful with new Skype contacts. Also it might be a good idea to beef up your SL password to something really secure. Use a random password generator tool if needed.

I love Second Life, being consistent with it brings in a good amount of money, it is totally worth it :) You should join. A lot of reasons not many girls stick around is because it can be really difficult to navigate, but I have got it down pat, so if you want to join, message me your username and I can help you with getting started :)

Hi,

Is it profitable still? I would join if I can make money....

It's only profitable if you put a LOT of time and effort (and some money) into it. The learning curve is massively steep and you'll need to put in some money to get your avatar looking good enough to pull in the high end clients. If you wanted to use it to attract customers for skype shows, go for it, but honestly you'll do much better on an indy cam site like livecammodelshows.com or cammodeldirectory.com. The going rates for comparable services on SL are about half what they are on cam, PSO and sexting sites.

This is a good opportunity for you if you are into online gaming (or are into Second Life in your spare time anyways) and want some extra cash and/or fun without getting on cam, or if you're looking to expand your indy cam clientele and don't mind them being cheaper than usual.

People seem to join SL thinking it'll be easy money just playing a video game. But what they don't realize is that it's really NOT a video game. It was not built to be user friendly. The developers only provide the environment and the basic avatars (which are pretty much obsolete now) and EVERYTHING else is user created. That means that most of what makes you not look like a noob is basically a work around. You need a tool to help you not walk like you have a stick up your ass, you need hair so that you don't have to use the horrible hair that comes built in to the avatars. You need special clothes that require you to figure out how to use it in a not very intuitive manner because the actual shirt, pants, etc layers generally look awful. Then if you want to look as good as the avatars that have been around for a while, you'll need to buy a whole new body and special clothes that work only with the particular brand of body that you bought... I ran an estimate of how much money it would cost to get a good body, head, hair, and a small but nice wardrobe of clothes and shoes for it and it's about $40 or more. You used to be able to look stunning for little to no money, but that was before mesh came along. See, second life has been around since 2003... that's 13 years. Technology has changed a lot since then and the platform has had many advancements, leading to many new types of content that it wasn't originally designed to handle. So, long story short, everything's a workaround therefore the learning curve is immense.

Sorry this turned into a super long rant, I just wanted to put into words my honest thoughts about people looking to pop onto Second Life hoping for easy money playing games. Another note for the gamers... SL is incredibly addicting. It will suck away your time and money like crazy! That's why I had to quit for a few years and reassess my strategy when I came back. I first joined SL in 2009, before I ever heard of camming, and I only JUST started turning a profit earlier this month. And it was a small profit at that. I had a really good week and made about $40 for around 4 hours of work. To say nothing of the hours upon hours I put in getting my avatar looking good enough and applying at clubs and working trying to find the right one to bring in the well paying clients.

So there's my brutally honest take on Second Life for camgirls. I know there are ladies who make a lot more there, but if you ask them how long they've been at it, I guarantee it's at least a year.

DonaDiabla
04-21-2016, 03:48 AM
Actually, this is an interesting question, BBFFXX.

I would say that Second Life is a wonderful egg and it is still profitable for people. However, there is a major learning curve to Second Life and you would need to learn it fast. Now, I never personally cammed in Second Life but I have been both a voice and texting escort there for the past three years now.In fact, I started to work as escort within my second week on second life. I would be on Second Life while taking phone calls and writing erotica. However, I had people show me the ropes and I was on it until sunrise for the first year.
Plus, I had men buy all of my clothes, avatar parts, and other things. I worked at several different clubs within my first 2 years to build up my clientele for all of my avatars. I started to learn all of the sex industry in Second Life as well as the other industries there. I had networked on Second Life before joining Stripper Web. Then I started by reading as much books about Second Life as possible.I started to build my DonaDiabla brand from scratch in Second Life then I started to include more and more avatars after my year there. I make great money on and off Second Life with my avatars over the past 3 years. Now, I feel if I could learn Second Life as a non gamer than many other sex workers can learn it as well. But please note, that Second Life takes hard work and some time if you want to hundreds to thousands a month. Also, I would say that it is best to become both a indie and club escort on Second Life for your first year. :)

So far its been pretty fun compared to others I've seen where users sit and literally say nothing in public chat.. Hair movements, textures, being able to walk with the ability to communicate by mic is a major plus! It took me a good while to grasp learning how to build a decent character and some of them turned out downright fugly. I've made a group of some online friends at a strip bar that have been giving me the ins and outs of SL, meshes, building and knowing what works with certain bases, way more complex being similar to RL than other VR. (please do not accept shared files from anyone, regardless if they claim to be safe) Those that have shared their earning details say they make a decent amount depending if you show up at that particular location to work, stripping, escorting, Skype shows, Kik, selling in shops or offering lap dances, ect. I'm using an avatar 2.0 (anime like chic that's not compatible with mesh) with a little setup allowing you to remove different parts of the body to changing the color of the skin and eyes, only thing that sucks is you can't make your character's tits jiggle. :(

I agree with Tsani and Dona. There is a steep learning curve and it takes a lot of time to make decent money on sl. I've been playing sl since 2012 and I started out playing just for fun. I didn't get serious about the business aspect of it until further down the road, but it was easy for me to start providing services since I already knew the ins and outs of sl. A lot of girls get started on sl hoping they will make money right away and end up being disappointed in the end. Don't get me wrong, there is money to be made on sl but it takes both time and experience. Plus as Tsani mentioned the going rate for cam is lower than the cam rates most of us are use to having. Some girls are offering cam on sl for .50/minute so that's about 124L.

Tsani
04-21-2016, 07:12 PM
Yeah in my rant I forgot to mention that "half the typical going rate" is actually the higher end on SL.

By "verified cam girl", I mean a member of the verified cam girls group here. See this thread for more info: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?159039-My-private-group-verifying

The SL group is really inactive though so you're not missing much. There's lots more info about SL on my forums at http://camconcierge.com/forums You can't see the virtual escorting section unless you join though, as those forums aren't as open as these ones.

Are you currently active on SL? If you are and you know the basics of how SL works already, I'd be happy to give you some pointers for virtual escorting in world or I can schedule a class for the girls who have learned the basics and want to move on to making money. I used to give SL 101 classes but it was too exhausting and time consuming. If you haven't learned the basics yet, I suggest spending some time on newcomer island in world and exploring for a while.

Have you thought about or tried the Phoenix Firestorm viewer? My understanding is that it has a lot less bugs and works better. I've been using it now for ... oh gosh, nearly four years? Maybe you should give it a shot, too?

Anytime - I've used SL on and off since about 2008, and started escorting on there a few years ago (though I don't at the moment). I just use my main account now for fun and relaxation. But anything I can do to help, I'd be glad to! :)

Just an FYI, I no longer have much time for SL with my new full time job (i know, it's a drag, but yay steady income) so I'll be getting rid of my land there. That means no more classes from me unfortunately. If anyone's interested in buying my land there, let me know. I'll be taking another hiatus from SL, only visiting it occasionally for fun.

I just saw this, not sure if you've sold it or done anything with it yet. May I PM you and see what'cha got? :D

I'm highly contemplating revamping and starting again as an escort, just to have another platform to use for $$$. I really enjoyed it when I did it before, though the club I worked at was super strict. Lots of long hours. Made like $250 a week on the better weeks, but I couldn't do anything else in between waiting for customers. We had to be focused on the sim constantly - which on the one hand I understand ... but on the other, it would be nice to be able to field PSO calls or something while waiting, you know? The owner doesn't want folks taking clients from SL outside of there and whatnot, which I totally get ... but I wouldn't do that. If someone comes to me in SL via a club, I'm not going to try and talk them out of SL because that's just not right (unless if for some reason they don't care and it's not an issue for that club/staff *shrugs*).

Okay, rambling. *facepalms* Done!

I haven't sold it yet, I was planning on putting it up for sale on Sunday. Go ahead and PM me or I can PM you when I'm done with dinner with the details ;)

Hello, ladies:

I am new on SW, and have been reading the forum since yesterday night I found it. I am not new to camming, I am doing it since some years ago, only in a partial way to get some extra cash, lately my work situation is getting worse and I have thought about do camming more seriously and more time at day, and also, to find other ways to make money on internet.

I never thought that a forum like this would exists and I only wish I would find you sooner that I did, lots of great information.

Well, the thing is, I only cam in one site for the moment, sometimes two, but the second is being a dead end the last months, plus I am a bit burnt out lately, I am not sure if is only a little low mood or a starting depression, but more often than I should, I lack the neccesary motivation to be on cam and smile, and wait for customers, the main motivation for me, always was the money I can do, but sometimes there are very slow time, and it kills me, or other times when I feel I can't be online, you know, is not very good to show yourself grumpy or moody online, or when I am in my period.... those thing.

For that, I am seeking for other ways to make money on internet, I have seen about phone sex, but my english is not enough good for that, and applied too to MGF (not accepted), so, reading the forum, I have seen about this two videogames, Second Life and Red light center, and saw that some of you use them to get some money, I love playing videogames so... I thought... why not?

The messages I saw on the forum, are quite old, for that I would like to ask you if someone of you uses this games to make some cash and if it is possible to use them this way, I have read that in Second Life is possible to change the game money to dolars without problem, for example.

Any experiences about this?. Thank you very much in advance

Hi Mazikeen welcome to the forum. I moved your post to this thread because you'll have a better chance of getting responses from people who actively use Second Life. Whenever a new post is made an email goes out to members to alert them of a new post. Unless of course they unsubscribe. In the meantime you can go back a few pages and read whatever everyone has written about Second Life. The information is very recent.

I wouldn't think of it so much as a game, rather than literally a second life otherwise people tend to get b*itchy there. For example, I treated it the same way and was outed for bringing in rl interests that didn't otherwise fit my character. After creating another account, I went to a land that had a bunch of clubs and different shops to purchase goods. To be on land you have to be there for a certain amount of time otherwise, you will be booted off islands very often. Some have strict rules such as, no flexible hair, Anime cartoon skins, boobs that move as you walk, ect. Trust NO ONE on that program when being sent items/folders or anything claimed to help guide you towards building a better character. Unless you have been speaking with them for a while, by going to the location or talking via mic they may offer to help you customize through steps. The money can be converted through the markets at certain rates, I'm not very big on details there given its still fairly new to me. People can choose to leave tips at the club donation box or tip individual dancers that also provide lap dances and sexual poses. First I was a naked lesbian on a deserted beach island with 3 other crazy nude trolls digitally finger banging each other. You have to install certain abilities that allow you to click on action dots to perform different themes, but it gets more complicated. My second character was a bloated biker chick covered in leather with wings and my last base being an anime girl. This was the easiest to customize with a little app that removed certain body parts from showing under outfits. There are apartment alarms that you can accidentally cross through flying, so be careful not to invade or if you have a roommate lock up their place. (Avoid pony/furry lands please..) Eventually I fell among the lovely trolls that were very friendly where I met my virtual roommate and other times it was creepy as f*ck. For a while I couldn't stop envying cute characters people would have on there, some with soft ambient music as you approach them. If you need to get certain things, you can either invest by buying items by converting money or going to friendly newbie lands where they offer tons of stuff. Also..you may be told to say your username before rp and this is important to learn if you plan to work on SL. I've lost some clients through not being able to properly communicate their form of rp style, much different than other virtual programs.

I'm a stripper and escort on Secondlife. I don't make a lot of money there but making money for just having my avatar pole dance is appealing to me. But it can be challenging if you want to make the same $$$$$ on SL as you do camming. Overall SL is full of trolls who GIF spam me and desperate dudes trying to find a "connection" with me when they don't even know anything about me or even know what I look like. And of course these guys never spend.

Thank you for the answers, I dont think it can be the same as camming, but maybe a side option for getting some cash, not sure of it, I just tested Red light center and there were not much people and you have to pay a monthly amount.

Same as you said BBwBrianna, is more about if it is a good way to get some cash having some fun and that, not as much as camming, but a little time killer when you are not in mood to be camming or want to do something different.
