Thanks everyone for taking your time to read this thread :) I know i got played, I know some of you would not sign the papers and fight for your rights, but I am a libra and I am very peacefull person , I am honest with you sometimes I hate myself for it, cause i know many people try to take advantage of me in different areas of my life but I also know my limits. IF its too much then I do explode and I fight for it.

Maybe what I am gonna say right now, isnt right but I will explain on how I feel about this:

"If i wasnt a cammodel and this happend to me, I would really do everything I can to stand up for myself"
but really I am a cammodel so I just rather give up, cause I felt like its gonna be better !!!

The good news is. i have plenty of time to find a new place, I have saved some money so its all good, For the next week I will be searching for a new place, and this time I will try to tell them upfront that I have a work from home job, I will tell them that i do online marketing etc, I get paid by Dailypay service thru payoneer and I have statements showing steady income. I will be carefull !!!! Thanks everyone again,

wow, there's definitely some hot-blooded women in here!

;3 Ladies~~

But this is a good reminder to all of us to keep a copy of our tenant's rights! We should all double check them while we're hunting for a new apartment, and they should always be on hand, even if digital. You can usually find them by googling

"renter's rights [city], [state]"

Actually, in Texas, yes they are. It is a felony to own 6 or more dildos. Texas has some absurd laws but it is what it is.

No Way! You cannot own more than 6 dildos in Texas??That is NUTS!

We got a bunch of lawyers up on stripper web don't we??? LOL

Take what they gave you and leave quietly. If you do, they won't push it any further, it would be pointless/costly for them to do so.

Sue them? Laughable. Seriously? Come on you guys. She technically is breaking several Texas state laws. They have grounds to evict her, they could have done that which is MUCH worse, and they didn't. She is NOT being screwed here... They cut her a deal. They do have legal grounds to do much worse, and they didn't. A person breaking the law does not go and sue the person not breaking the law, who just cut them a deal. I realize it's totally not fair and it's bullshit and all that but lets use our heads here. Common sense.

And lets all you lawyers try to remember that laws vary greatly by STATE. Not to mention by country. I have actually taken many classes on Texas state laws as being a legal studies major. What is a law in one state might not be a law in another. I am also in the OP's same state, Texas, and I can tell you.... she technically broke the law. So like I said, take the deal and leave quietly. The next apartment or house you rent, (I would highly suggest finding a small house) be smart about what you put on the application and make sure you clean up after you are done camming, as well as install an extra chain lock on the door.

It's also not true. This law was repealed. You can own as many dildos as you want.

I know I'm a few days late, but here I go..

This is a good lesson for all of us to read our leases and rental contracts carefully. The pest control guy may have legally tried to enter the apartment. The last place I rented had a maintenance clause. It stated that pest control had a master key and went to EVERY apartment on the first Thursday (unless a holiday) of every month. There was also a section outlining certain reasons the complex managers or maintenance staff would/could come in unannounced.

No matter what kind of contract you are presented with you need to read it before signing. And understand what you are reading. Ask questions, no matter how stupid they seem.

It is a super shitty situation that you're in OP. I'm sorry you have to deal with it

The thing I never actually saw clarified was whether or not the pest control guy had given notice that he was coming into the apartment. If they do it weekly or monthly, they probably do not give notice that they are coming in because it is a standard thing. I know that some apartments offer pest control (mine does) but I had opted out of it to keep people from coming into the apartment more than necessary. You should always read contracts when you sign them, not just rental contracts, every single contract that you sign - even cellphone contracts need to be read.

Apartment employees - such as maintenance - can enter your apartment without warning in situations like a report of water damage - i.e. you're on the second floor and the first floor says their roof is leaking - possibly due to something in your apartment leaking - and check to see if there's anything happening. This is why you should always put your cam stuff away everyday. I happen to be home most of the day, so I typically leave stuff out, but when they leave notice for inspections, I put everything away everyday until they are done.

I don't recommend telling your apartment people what you do. I think saying you are an independent model (for instances when you happen to use payoneer rather than direct deposit) would work a lot better because they don't need to know what your modeling entails and they could put your privacy at risk (let's face it, people like to talk).

Honestly, you need to be more worried about what's NOT in your lease, considering the landlord is able to make up any terms, fines, or penalties they please. Obviously those terms, fines, or penalties need to be in accordance with the law, but housing laws already favor the landlord unless the tenant has been served an evictions notice (then it reverses). That's what I was told by 3 different lawyers. One of which, was from a tenants rights agency place.

That's ridiculous... When I sign a new lease I'm going to read it. Imagine how many people break the law with vanilla work on etsy... I also sell there so I have no idea what I would tell my landlord if they asked... Hopefully everything goes well for you. This is a partial reason I don't let ANYONE in my apt. The other reason is I would hate to have poison in my house, I'd rather have a few bugs. That stuff is so toxic. The other reason I don't let anyone in is that our maintenance here is terrible at everything he does. Good luck and if you need a fake document, I've done one to prove to someone's parents that they were employed with a company. Bad, but it worked!

Good for you, sweetheart, you did the best you could w/what you had to work with under the stress you had to deal with. I myself came out of a very difficult situation in a complex, not having to do w/camming, but, for YEARS I had to put up w/BULLSHIT! Nor was I the only one..these types of people (if they can be called that) love to fuck over single women (over anything), older people, etc. like I said I'm happy you're getting out, regardless of the circumstances, although I wish you could have come out w/your deposit..I know you're moving forward & will make lots more $ in a better place

this is why i would rather rent a HOME from a PRIVATE OWNER and not some company and snooty apartment complex. i had a very similar situation happen to me when i was stripping except the outcome was much worse for me. private owners are not as picky and they are just mostly happy to get someone in that actually pays the rent. i refuse to deal with apartments and companies period for this very reason. glad things are working out for ya babe and good luck in this tough world.

I think its less about running a business from home, and more about the porn aspect that sends them off the deep end. That's especially true if no packages or foot traffic is going in & out while running a business from home.

I'm sure all landlords will either put in writing (or not) that you can't run a business from home, but that's only to protect their rental. They could OK selling on etsy, but what happens if your store is featured in a magazine or on Oprah and explodes? So many packages would be going in & out of the building, and it would disturb other tenants. That's why 99.9999999% of them will say NO running a business from home in the lease, or won't put it in the lease and then will enforce it verbally if you ask. Its one of those things you are expected to know not to do, the ball is in the landlord's court with that one. However, many people are able to run a business from home and get away with it because they don't have people or packages coming in and out. Its basically illegal if you rent (especially in a complex or apartment), but its one of those dont-ask-dont-tell things. But not going to be allowed no matter where you rent an apartment.

To combat the issue above, list your occupation as "marketing" or "online sales" or "freelance design" or "web consulting" on the lease. List it as implying you do stuff with the internet (because you do), but don't flat out mention you're running a business. If pressed further about it, you are an independent contractor. These will be your best arguments in court if you get evicted over something like this.

Pretty much... if a landlord wants you out of the property, they will find a way. Porn is a huge deal to most of them. Don't let the landlord know of any reasons to want you to move. Pay your rent early or on time, use a buddybar and window+door locks, be quiet, and don't draw any attention to yourself. Stay off their radar.

I used to bash property management agencies (mine accused me of parking in the garage when I didn't even own a car at the time! wtf), but honestly, they are the best bet because they don't give a fuck a will stay out of your business unless tipped off about something. Its private landlords or complexes that will be all up in your business. Not all, but many of them. My (private) landlord showed up alllllll time unannounced and would knock on my door or yell my name (*facepalm*) outside my door til I opened it. Private landlords & some complexes tend to base your rental application approval on how much they like you, and property management tend to base your rental application approval on your credit score & things on paper. Property managers will do things by the books, but a private landlord is going to do things based on their intuition. Neither will ever allow someone to film porn inside one of their rentals. Its bad for the reputation and it flat out sounds bad. Yes, its not bad at all, but they don't know that and neither type of landlord will listen to you if you try to explain.

With the OP, though not her fault AT ALL, this entire issue could have been prevented if she used a buddybar. The pest control guy wouldn't have been able to get inside. And if window locks were on, he couldn't get in through the windows either. Its sad that it comes down to locking yourself inside your own home, but as sexworkers, we are discriminated against already, so extra precautions need to be taken. Buy a buddybar and use it. Buy window & door locks and use them. Keep to yourself. Don't tell anyone in your building what you do or they may use it against you and rat you out to the landlord. If it can't be seen, it can't be proven.

Noooooooooooooo you don't trust me. They are the nosiest, and show up unexpected. That was my experience. Luckily mine was kinda dumb regarding her rights as a landlord though. But she did so many illegal things its not even funny. Private owners may not be picky about credit scores or what you look like on paper, but they make up for it by being picky as hell about the person's personality and lifestyle. At least that was my experience.

Well I've so far I've dealt w/mostly private owners, & just left a nightmare complex that was really like up in my business majorly, although I would classify them as more of a private owner type the way they dealt w/things, also they did a lot of illegal stuff theirselves.
GR raised a lot of good points about staying off the radar..keeping to yourself, paying on time or early. I find in general the less they know they better.
Another thing I found is they have 'spies' that inform (if they see or find something out)

Yes, often times they will offer cash rewards for ~*illegal activity*~ reports. Don't trust your neighbors. Or maintenance people. Or anyone really. Don't even trust your own landlord.

Buy a buddy bar (http://www.amazon.com/Buddybar-10311-Door-Jammer/dp/B002BQ4VBU) for your front door, metal window locks (http://www.amazon.com/NU-SET-Sliding-Window-Thumbscrew-White/dp/B004Q7LA98) for all your windows, and an external lock (http://www.amazon.com/Addalock-price-for-2-Pieces/dp/B002L6BZXC) for your bedroom door.

Oh you want to come in my apartment and didn't alert me? TOO BAD you can't. Play them back with their own idiot games.

Just have to say that I recently got the buddy bar after seeing it mentioned in verified, and it is truly a lifesaver. Had someone try to open my door last night, and thanks to the buddy bar they couldn't get in. BTW OP, I know your pain. I had a similar situation in my last apt. The manager, his wife and maintnence walked in whenever they felt like it and they went through my things. You will be 1000 times happier away from that fucked up complex, trust me.

All in all, she did the best she could do.

Texas is very pro-landlord. It takes less than 3 weeks to evict in this area, start to finish. In addition, once you have that eviction on you, good luck finding another place. Its near impossible. I have a 5 year old eviction and still cannot rent from an apartment complex (private owners only). So, better to voluntarily leave than have that eviction working against you.
