You have to think about it pretty thoroughly. I wouldn't quit both of your jobs just yet. Try camming for a few hours without taking a break, do this for a week or two and see how that goes. Camming isn't easy, it seems like it is. You'd think it would be. You don't always just log on and make money. Sometimes there's literally hours of making nothing or almost nothing.

How will you pay your bills? How much money do you HAVE to pay every month in bills and what extra do you need to survive (food, gas, etc). You might start off making a whole lot and then it might taper off and you could make almost nothing. You might start off making nothing and it might get better. The point is that there's no telling. It's not always a situation where you get back as much as you put in or more. Sometimes you put in everything and get nothing back.

Figure out how much money you NEED to make every month then figure out how much in terms of tokens/gold/etc you need to make (take the site's cut out of your earnings). That's your goal, you should make a daily goal of what you HAVE to make to earn that much. Is it doable in a reasonable amount of time or will you have to cam for 12+ hours a day? If you think you can make it daily then you can quit your job, but know that you're going to need a lot of eggs in a lot of baskets. And just remember you're going to HAVE to put away money you earn every month for taxed (~30% of your earnings) or you're gonna get fucked when tax season comes around, so factor that in when you make your goals.

If you're like a lot of us, you're going to have to make videos/clips and upload them because camming isn't always going to cut it. I never used to sell my videos on any sites until I went from making well over $5k a month to $1,200 a month (camming), that's when I quit camming and relied on making videos. There were a few months where I couldn't pay a lot of my bills because the money fluctuated so much. Can you handle that stress? If you quit your job now and learn you can't make ends meet you might find that it's hard to get a job when you really need it. It might be best to keep your jobs for a bit longer and see how camming goes before just quitting straight away.

I don't really understand the need to be in any kind of vanilla job when there is so much opportunity in the adult industry. You don't HAVE to be a cam girl. There are opportunities in so many other areas. For instance, IT is huge, graphic design, video clips, PSO and webmaster affiliate programs. You could also save up money from camming and get into entrepreneurial opportunities or go back to school. Become a stripper in Guam, (they pay for housing)! Teach English anywhere. Some enterprising cam girls here have opened up studios and their own indy sites. Open up your mind and see the opportunities that are all around you. The universe provides if you believe! If you believe in lack that's what shows up in your life! Live your life because you really only have 80 or so years!

I have always been a huge advocate of the LOA to the point where it becomes annoying but I prove to people all the time that miracles and luck are things that you alone create. Listen to inspiration and that inner guidance, it is NEVER wrong.

And YES, I jumped into camming head first with no parachute and I have notlooked back. BEST thing I ever did. Fuck corporate jobs and working for goddamn loser bosses who sexually harrass and bully me. I choose who's dick I suck to make it to the top! I own my destiny!

the first step in not dreading your job so much is to make your personal life Fabulous!.. it makes it more bearable to withstand while waiting to transition.

My wage is so low as I'm leading the field in working in as I though it was something I could see myself doing but I can't see myself doing it now. My partners job isn't anything special he's only there for the money but is dreading going in as he doesn't like the job. Yeah that's what we both worry about the first month went well and we didn't even try we just went on when we could be bothered. Thanks for your input it's appreciated

that's exactly how I feel.. 12 yrs in going on 13 .. I am already 42.. why bother with a real job at this point!.. Doesn't make sense to me anymore.. So I have been inching my way over to real estate investing etc etc.. living way below my means in the mean time.. It's like what would I do??.. I have not much experience anymore.. Go back to insurance?? I was practically Entry Level when I LEFT!!..lol

Something to consider... you're both young and have no major commitments. Now. What happens years from now?

I'm asking you this because I myself got into the adult industry as a young person with no major commitments... and here I am 10 years later. While I love my job in this industry for many, many reasons... I am now stuck with nothing except 10 years in adult entertainment and NO other work history in the "real wold" to enable me to go out and get another job (if I wanted to or needed to, which I don't). But it's something to think about. It's very hard to get attached and rely on the income from adult work, and then you end up one day trying to figure out how you're going to get out of adult work when the time comes. There are way too many other qualified employees that employers would hire based on their years of experience, vs you who would by that time have none in whatever job you may try to get in the future. Many employers don't like to see a gap in employment, and unless you tell them about your past camming jobs, you would look as though you didn't work for the past however many years. Add to that, you would be self employed in camming, and I have heard that many employers are weary of previously self employed people regardless of what the self employed work was.

^^^ Same here, i am 40 now & for 14 years in cam industry already, i am not reliable for a 'normal job' anymore considering i also have serious health issues, i am thinking i lost soo much time camming but on the other hand i was able to raise my son & keep a roof over my head with the money i made on cam, i would have been fucked up w.o this income but i wish i could have a 'proper job' & benefits later on.
If i was younger again & NOT a single mom i would definitely choose NOT to rely on cam or adult work only, maybe work cam on the side but not only cam, for sure not. Unfortunately in my case there was no other option for me to manage life differently but u guys have other situation & options. I am thinking with fear to the years when i'll not be able to cam anymore but maybe there'll be other options for me, will see.

This is true for me it's 12 years on and off of camming and adult work. I am going to school to see if there something else I might be interested even though I really enjoy adult work and the freedom and rewards it bring it does some what alienate me from the real world to branch out in a different social environment.

If you want to some day work in other career fields you need to A keep up date with education or B always have a temp job on the go to keep your resume current. and you also have to show you can keep employment for a period of time like about 3 years or more.

if you are getting a qualification out of it then complete it to get that, otherwise you have wasted time, cam sites will always be there but its harder to go back to things.

I don't normally share personal anecdotes, but I guess I'll chime in for this one.

Growing up I went to some pretty prestigious private schools. I always had the best, and it's something I'm grateful for. However, even the best schooling could not teach me how to do basic math. It's something I never learned. I cried so hard about this, I tried pleading with God and studying for about 60 hours a week. Basic Algebra homework took me about 8-10 hours a night to complete basic math homework. It was insane. I actually failed out of high school because of this problem, and my whole family refused to speak to me for years.

I found out I actually have something called "Dyscalculia" which makes me unable to read numbers properly. I am very upset that I have to suffer with it. For two years I struggled with minimum wage jobs and I thought my life would never go anywhere. High school drop outs rarely achieve much in life. I was sad.

I'm really lucky to be pretty and personable. Without these two qualities I would be hopeless. I got into camming and I finally felt like I had something to live for. I really believe that this is the only job I can work with a decent payout. It does kind of suck sometimes because I do feel like I have no other choices, but it's not like I can help having a disability. I'm really grateful to all the guys who find me attractive and pay for my time. I'm really lucky to enjoy this job.

I think everyone has their own reasons for getting to adult work. Do it if it works for you. :) I wouldn't recommend going into this without a backup plan, though. Please have something vanilla open on the side if that is an option for you.

OMG really this is me having "DYSCALCULIA", i was not aware of this condition but i suffer from it since i know myself! Been very difficult for me to understand & learn mathematics in school & i am at the very low level considering my knowledge in maths/calculations. Believe it or not i was working in direct sales & accounting & it was always difficult for me to work with numbers, luckily there was always a software 'helping out' & Thank God for the Calculator!

I don't have anything special to add, I just want to say "thank you" because there's some fantastic advice in this thread. Cam girls take care of their own.

Thanks for all the amazing advice and I love the mixed replies. We are both going to give it a good go this week and see how we get on while in the meantime look for part time jobs. Our plan is to have a part time job to cover at least half of our bills and then cam the rest also my partner has a little business he's starting up which camming would give him the time to focus on and hopefully build up.

Please keep the advice coming if anyone has any :)

I quit my vanilla job for camming. I'm blessed to have a specific employer who would always let me come back and work for him if I needed to.
I have severe anxiety and BPD and it makes it so difficult for me to hold normal jobs. I honestly can't keep a job for longer than maybe a year before quitting.
I love camming, because I make better money than I ever will from any vanilla job and I am my own boss. If I'm having a bad day, I can take off and work double time when I'm feeling better. I can always find ways to make more money through camming.
I think it depends on the person. If you decide you may want to one day go back to a day job, I would either not cam, or do it part time while keeping your job.
I personally couldn't see myself doing anything other than sex work for income, and if I did start to work again, it would be helping others under voluntary circumstances, and not for someone else's benefit so that they can overwork me and under pay me.

OP, you may want to keep a very part time, like one shift a week, job. Adult work can feel like it's consuming you when it's all you do at times. That said, even on my worst week,I've always made at least the same camming part time as I would have full time as a nurse. I was an lpn and pay range in my area is anywhere from 14-30 an hour. Honestly, when I see people burn out on vanilla work, I'm so tempted to suggest camming. Unlike stripping, girls with more variations in body types and age are able to make money.

I’ve been away from camming for more than a year i was working at this small company and the reasons i wanna quit my job are

1- the salary isn’t good.
2- 54 work hours per week+ 1 day off which is hard for me because i’m an online college student.
3- the management is really bad and confusing.
4- i’m not happy. And the people i work with don’t make it better. I feel like i’m forced to go to work.
5- i wanna be a cam model again.

Before i started working at this company i was a cam model. I liked it. I was making about $200 a day. Then it started getting slow thats why i looked for a vanilla job.
Anyway i’m not happy with my current job i feel like i can do much better as a cam model if i work hard on it. (more advertising on social media and more focusing on camming) + i will have more time to focus on studying&myself. I’m just afraid that camming won’t work and quitting my job would be for nothing.
I tell myself if camming doesn’t work i can just look for another job but what if i couldn’t find a job and i ended up losing everything :\

I’m really stressed out. Any advice?

keep your job - at least until you have bare minimum of an emergency fund, savings (6 months worth), retirement fund, etc.

Your intuition is right

Thank you
i have some savings + i live with parents
i don't have big responsibilities like paying bills and rent, etc. that's why i also thought about quitting this job and focusing on camming again.
