Thought I'd throw this in here. http://challenge.co/coming-soon/

The 30 day challenge is SEO help. It's free and teaches you how to rank high in Google, SEO and how to find niches and promote your website competitively. I did it in 2011 and it was super helpful. The old videos of past courses are on youtube. But I recommend signing up and following along because they'll give you 30 day free trial of Market Samurai ( a really helpful tool in building your google ranking )

It starts on September 1 and ends on September 30th.

Thank you so much for making a very helpful post!!!! :)

My biggest question is.. How do you promote on craigslist? I have seen some comments about craigslist but there is not much info about it. I just want to know how do yall promote without ending up in escort watch list. I need to pimp out more on my cammodel link.

Has anyone had any luck or tips on Yahoo and Google groups?

I've looked and I keep hearing "Yahoo and Google groups are awesome for promotion" but when I look through them all I'm seeing is a bunch of dead groups filled with spam. IDGI. And I've tried spamming them, didn't do anything. Are they dead and ppl are just lying? lol Anyone have any info on this?

I really love using bit.ly for my links, so I can track where the clicks come from and how many. Also, when. It helps me to understand where my promoting works better. It even tells you which tweet that got my links some clicks. :)

I'd add that traffic does NOT always equal income. Lots of Internet-famous broke women, LOL. For high-end escorting, the essential problem is that older wealthy men (your target market) aren't on the Internet much (they great up without it...I suspect next generation will be quite different, and that'll make things easier in a few decades...but who knows what marketing will be like by then).

Bottom line to any/all marketing? Be interesting. Men are checking you out a lot before deciding to meet you (in most cases...certainly the good ones are; the impulsive ones aren't the best clients, as they're not loyal and will always be searching for future impulse buys). Don't be boring, and don't be fake. Hiring PR firms can damage your brand, as no one can promote yourself like YOU can (no one has your persona). Make your posts, copy, feel of your photos/videos, everything you promote match the persona you have, what's great about you, and what you want to attract. In time, you will attract that...there's someone out there for everyone. Don't bother too much with what other women are doing (by the time it's commonly done it's often played out anyway, and besides, you can't be any of them...you can only be you).

Learn where to prioritize your time; non-spenders will steal all of it and cause you to get jaded/go broke if you let them. That being said, also realize that good clients come from everywhere (I've been at this for 14 years and some of my best clients didn't seem that great at first contact, while some who seemed awesome turned out to be absolutely horrific, even harmful). "Fancy" sites don't always produce big spenders, while "low end" sites sometimes see great men surfing them (dudes are wierd and seek variety...they are potentially all over the web).

If you don't speak/write well, don't have good taste in fashion/design/layout, work on these things...you cannot attract the best men if you aren't the best woman. The better you are, the better you'll do. YOU are the product/service, so invest in you. You'll be more interesting/smarter/cooler/prettier, have better aspects of yourself and your life to promote and talk about, and thereby attract better men. Wherever on the Web you go to market, the stuff you put up there will get noticed.

Just wanted to add this to the already-super-useful site specifics others have posted. Lots of content out there, but a lot of what people are putting up isn't interesting and doesn't drive any revenue. You don't want to waste time marketing all over the place for no profit.

Does anyone know anything about link dumps and if they help / hurt your site/seo?

Also I saw that Google is now indexing tweets! http://mashable.com/2015/02/04/twitter-tweets-google-search/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss

^^^I believe they just don't do anything. Anything that's not organic will eventually be found out and penalized by google. They are literally penalizing sites that are paying for link-dumps and such as "unfair competition".

Magical_Hoohah
02-07-2015, 08:33 PM
^^I have NO expertise in that area, but loveshooks just recently posted about this in the LCMS forum, and said basically the same thing. She wrote a lot of good stuff, but the super-summarized version is that link exchanges can sometimes be helpful, but you have to be very cautious with it. If Google detects that you're creating non-organic links and being spammy about it, you get penalized and your ranking can drop badly.

Uplust.com is an alternative for instagram and has some traffic. It's 18+. And you can promote yourself there. You can go on the url, or they have an app in the android store and if you go to the site on your iphone you can download the app to your iphone that way.

Just curious...........if someone retweets you on twitter, do you retweet them too?

MissEgo
02-23-2015, 07:15 PM
If another camgirl retweets one of my posts, I'll make sure to go retweet one of hers later on in the day. Sometimes I do forget, but I think it's a little way to thank them.

Just wanted to say - DO NOT USE TUMBLR. Seriously. I had my blog marked as NSFW and posted photos of myself (pg 13 stuff, handbra at the most - I don't post nudity) and links to either my clips4sale, my personal website, or my kinkbomb. I didn't use any affiliate programs, and I didn't "spam" (posting maybe 7 times per day). I've been deleted from tumblr twice. We're talking entire account termination, not just deleted blog, and zero warnings. Just bam, gone.
I've spent two years on tumblr and A LOT of time dedicated to promotion, and suddenly it's completely gone.

Edited to add - their reasoning was "Tumblr is not to be used as a marketing, SEO, or sales tool". So, posting original content and linking it to any adult site will get you deleted for affiliate marketing, apparently (even though I only linked to sites that do not have affiliate programs).

I'm trying to start using instagram, what do you guys do to turn these followers into paying customers? What kinds of hash tags are useful?

I've only ever used instagram for personal use, so I'm kind of lost on how this can be beneficial to camming but I'd really like to give it a shot.

I would love to know this as well! I just started one too. I can't seem to get decent followers, just junk accounts. I've even been advertising it on my twitter and tumblr.

Instagram isn't adult friendly and any obvious adult tags do not work. Not really sure if there's much to be done on there, I'd love someone to tell me I'm wrong though

I've been wondering about Instagram as well. I have no inclination toward using any more social media than I must, but I should probably know about it.

Instagram is owned by Facebook, right? Does it have the same issues with being incredibly invasive to your devices the way FB is? I have a personal Instagram, and it seems pretty harmless, but maybe I just haven't noticed it sneaking around my phone spying on everything else.

Is there any point to using it? Before Twitter had photos and videos, it made perfect sense to use Instagram, but isn't it a bit redundant now?
Also, I'd think that the sort of pervs who are willing to pay to play would KNOW to hang around on Twitter, where things are more adult-friendly. I understand that Instagram can reach a different audience, and that audience might appreciate pretty pictures of sexy ladies, but are Instagram guys too family-friendly to pay for our services? I don't know, maybe there are plenty of pay-to-play pervs on Instagram that just haven't graduated to the "hardcore" world of Twitter yet? Or maybe all the fetish guys who aren't interested in the lady bits are using Instagram?

I actually like Instagram for personal use, but I'm not excited about using it for work. I have enough difficulties getting decent selfies without wondering whether they'll fit in a square!

^I like using Instagram to show my fans that I'm a human being. Behind the scenes at shoots, pics of my cats, my artwork, my dinner, just out and about. It builds trust and believability in your persona. I save my more hardcore teases for twitter. I use it mostly for fun and I don't know if it actually gets me new customers, but plenty of my current fans do look at it even if they are too nervous to follow me. So I think for me its more about fan-maintenance than seeking out more new fans.

I use Instagram to get more twitter followers. I did get a couple of guys who ended up buying stuff off my site. It is important to ask your customers how they find you or else you don't know how effective your social media campaigns are doing.

I only have 130 Instagram followers so the effectiveness is actually higher with instagram than with Twitter.

What's everyone's opinion when it comes to advertising multiple sites on twitter? I'm keeping C4S on Twitter for sure, it's my main site and about 1/4 of my traffic comes from Twitter. I'm not bothering advertising ELM. But I just got on ManyVids and would like to get some traffic in there. I have the updates going on my Tumblr (but I'm having a hard time getting followers there) and I have the option of updating on Twitter too. Is it possible that I may alienate customers by advertising multiple sites in the same day?

On twitter I have my camsite link in my bio, and my website link. On the website only advertise the sites I get affiliate payments from, my main camsite, and my second 'pocket money' site. I don't advertise my c4s as it is very niche fetish oriented and would confuse and potentially alienate my cam customers, besides which c4s gets enough traffic. Now and then I post my amazon wishlist on twitter. I find this the best way as keywords in my blog posts send people to my website, from where they're sent to my cam room, likewise with hashtags on twitter. I do have a seperate twitter for my c4s 'persona' and this works very well when i can remember to use it. On that account i only advertise my c4s store x

Instagram is tricky. But it works. you have to be very mild or you'll get banned. Nothing sexually explicit. I have lest than 100 post but a ton of likes and skype inquiries. You can put a link in your bio, watermark your pics. But mostly I just send the traffic to my website.
