I use Reddit for non-work stuff, but hopefully someone who uses it for promo could chime in as well. It would be interesting to know if you can get decent traffic from making your own page/subreddit.

I'm not that familiar with Pinterest, and I realize that this is kind of a sexist sentiment, but I always got the feeling that it was a site mostly full of women who like crafts and fashion. Am I wrong? Are there actually a bunch of pervy men with expendable money looking for smut on Pinterest?

There's actually quite a bit of men on there. Music, cars etc are popular boards. I've accidentally come across smut while looking for lingerie. It seemed to be mostly fetish stuff like latex and what not .

Great question, SuperPookie.
Actually, you can invite people to see your privacy boards. You can make a separate account for your adult projects :)

Lots of questions on how to make it. Where to promote etc what to do when the "easy money" stops rolling in. Read through the thread

One thing I've noticed on reddit is that the majority of active subreddits that have been created for the sale of sexual goods and services seem to have developed a culture where customers expect to pay by means most of us would stick our noses up at, like PayPal, Bitcoin, and bank transfers. For some goddam reason, when I promote on reddit and give my CMD link (where they can pay for camshows, sexting packages, videos, panties or whatever the hell else they want with almost zero risk) guys suddenly disappear or say they only want to pay via PayPal or Giftrocket or whatever.
Now, I don't think all of these guys are trying to scam online SW's by paying them and then getting their money refunded like they can't on other websites. Some for sure, but subreddits like r/sexsells have a buyer/seller reputation system- if a buyer is found to be a scammer or a seller a con artist, they are irrevocably banned. I think that the site culture of reddit (where the majority are young, white, American men) is just averse to the idea that sex work is a legitimate job- it's easier for them to suspend the disbelief that you are a professional if they don't pay through professional means. (E.g., you're not a hustler doing this for income, you're just a beautiful woman they want to send cash gifts to.)
I've made 4 different photosets and posted in at least 5 different subreddits and have gotten only 3 customers from it- and none of them were frankly worth all the time and effort I put into making the photosets and getting verified on the subreddits- 5-10 minute shows with dudes who I never saw again. So far reddit has been a bust for me all around. I don't trust Twitter and don't want to risk Facebook, and Tumblr just seems like far too much effort. So where to advertise from here? The only thing that comes to mind is backpage.

Not sure why you don't trust twitter? I've heard the stories where girls have had issues, but I've been on Twitter since 2009. I have many different accounts and have never had any issues. None of my accounts have linked together. I only use Facebook on my desktop in its own browser. Meaning I don't use that browser for anything adult. No facebook app on my phone. My phone has my adult twitter, tumbr and instagram. Lately I've gotten bored with twitter and have started focusing more on insta. YOu can send a tweet to twitter and a post to tumblr when you post on instagram.

You are right, SaraLaughs! A lot of those guys on reddit seems to want guys to spend bitcoins. But I must blame those women who want to take paypal and bank transfers as payment on reddit and tumblr. Giftrocket can be great for payments from guys who do not want to use a payment processors. However, I have tons of different payment methods for my clients and most of them just use Niteflirt. However, I do advertise via Twitter, Tumblr(only for raceplay), facebook (Only for my virtual escort business on Second Life), and pinterest. Personally, I advertise on backpage and get more weirdos now than ever before. By the way, most of my Niteflirt Tumblr customers are often guys into Raceplay, Naziplay, and extreme maledom. So they will pay big bucks for extreme fetishes or findom on there :)

Hello Sincats,
I just joined about a week ago and I have a couple of questions about it.
1. Do feature members get top billing on the site?
2. Can I advertise for used panties on there?
3. Do I have to pay extra fees once I become a feature member?
4. Do I have to pay you guys a small fee?
Thank you so much :)

I just joined about a week ago and I have a couple of questions about it.
Thank you for joining!
1. Do feature members get top billing on the site? Feature members are performers that have upgraded their accounts. This means that they will appear above all free performers in the following sections: home page, main listing, blog posts, image galleries, videos, audios, search results, sidebar widget, performer shouts, sitemap and all updates. Featured members are also highlighted and have a 'verified sincat' logo on their profile page.
2. Can I advertise for used panties on there?
Yes, but it would be up to you to sell and send. And please know that there may be some legal issues when sending items like that US postal service (so you might want to check on that).
3. Do I have to pay extra fees once I become a feature member?
To upgrade your account the fee is $9.95 and that is all-inclusive. There are no other fees. You can even create and manage unlimited Wordpress blogs from within your performer admin panel as part of your featured account.
4. Do I have to pay you guys a small fee?
No. You can have a listing on our site for free and we have tons of features included in that. But upgrading will get you to the top of the rankings and also unlock other features. There are no other fees though.
Thank you so much :)
You are very welcome!

Also... I don't understand the point of tumblr. I don't totally understand the platform, either, but mostly I just need to know the purpose.
I have a twitter for sexy pics, advertising my links and website, and little thoughts I want to share. I recently made an instagram, presumably for semi-sexy pics, "get to know the real me" type of pics, and advertising my website. I have a website where I have ALL my links and info, pics, and my blog.
So what's left to put on my tumblr? I don't need it to act as a landing page or website, because I already have one, so is there even any point in using it? The only thing it would be good for is potentially reaching a wider audience to advertise my links and website. Should I just be cross-posting from twitter, instagram, and my blog?

Just wanted to put together a short post about our new features. We have been working on adding some new call options and a new studio manager section (for those that wish to profit by managing other providers). We still allow independent self-promotion, meaning that if you want to post your call buttons, cam links, etc. you can do so on your profile page.
However we have added a new pay per call feature that gives you 70% of the sale. No connection fees, no hidden costs. Plus it is pay per call, not pay per minute. So if the customer you are speaking to orders a 30 min. call and finishes in 20 minutes you still receive the full payment for the call price.
Our new studio manager option allows you to add unlimited accounts and specify your portion of the 70%.
3 short videos to show how this works:
Performer registration:

This sounds awesome, but I am terribly SnapChat illiterate. :(
I also tried to download to app, but it wants access to my contacts on my phone before it will let me do anything (I think?) and I don't want to do that. I don't want to import anyone - but I mostly don't want to show up on my contacts' SnapChat apps saying, "Look who just joined!" I don't have another phone to use for this at the moment - can anyone confirm that if I go through to Contacts thing on SnapChat, does it just give me the option to add some of my contacts, or will it show me to them as well?
... I ramble. x___x

Update: I would say that following certain entertainers on Twitter and Instagram has brought me more clientele. However, I only follow minor rappers and rock stars...which bring in paying customers. But I have learned following certain sugar babies on Instagram is not in my best interest because they bring too many salt daddies. Also following upcoming video vixens can bring a more demanding urban clientele. These are guys who would lecture you for wearing the wrong outfits, nail color, and hair style.

I have a question for you ladies with many eggs who use twitter.
Do you promote them all on one twitter, and just let the guys decide for themselves where they would like to interact with you?
If you are on several pay-per-minute or texting sites, do you just tweet, "Hey, I'm gonna be here/available for a few hours?" I feel like I may look kind of crazy posting like this if I'm doing several sites a day or at a time?
Also, I've been thinking that because my main site is Chaturbate, it might be counter productive to have any fans from a pay-per-minute site follow me on twitter and then find me on Chaturbate (since CB is token based, and people can watch without contributing.) Although I realize the guys who like privates are typically looking for a much different experience than someone who is on a token site. Anyone have thoughts/experience on this?

I only have one Twitter account at the moment - I like to be seen as offering a choice, in some capacity, because I want to be viewed as a model that is flexible and isn't trying to force a guy to have to do something, or use a particular site, when he's more comfortable using another. That being said, offering TOO many choices I think makes their heads spin and fall off, and they're just going to move on to something/someone much less complicated. In my mindset, they just want to click and cum, with as few steps in between as possible. SM is my main site for camming, so I generally advertise SM, and then also my NiteFlirt stuff. Now, I do phone sex on NF, but I will also cam from NF. Additionally, I will often tweet about messaging me for appointments or questions, just to show them I'm open to talking and hearing what they have to say. But they already know what I'm freely offering based on the fact that most advertising involves either my Cammodels or NiteFlirt links.
I'm on a few other sites but rarely, very rarely, post anything about them. I try to keep it simple with my two main sites, while also trying to give the feeling of open-mindedness and flexibility. ... if that makes ANY fucking sense.

I totally agree with you that too many options makes less sales happen. Guys want EASY, SIMPLE. It's worth it to consider buying a streamlined domain name and having a host web page that then lists all your different options. That way you only have to worry about them remembering one place to go for all your goodies, and once they get there you can link out to all your different sites :)

I wrote my detailed thoughts about this in another thread awhile back, so I'm just going to quote myself (with slightly better formatting).
If you give guys a big list of sites, they will just get confused and/or paralyzed by having too many options (the paradox of choice).
Instead, sit down and decide which sites are your most valuable eggs for each category (indy cam sites, big box cam sites, phone sex, texting, clips, panties). Take a few things into consideration:
Which site gives you the highest take-home pay per minute/item? Remember that a higher percentage doesn't mean much if the site has a culture of extremely low prices.
Which sites give you a nice incentive for signing up customers? Is the affiliate cut only on your own shows? Is it only in effect for a limited time? When you boil it down, I'm pretty sure SM will win in this arena against most sites.
Which sites have placement algorithms based on how much traffic you get (paying or otherwise)? If your placement on one site is random, but you'll get a placement bump for getting more customers on another site, driving your traffic to the latter will be more helpful in terms of placement.
Which site is the most likely to appeal to your customers? You don't want to direct your guys to a site, only for them to leave because it's too expensive, too difficult to navigate, or has sub-par streaming quality.
Which sites do you like the best and want to work on the most in the future?
When you've decided which site is the best for each type of service you offer, advertise only those sites. Let all the other sites provide you with traffic, but send the traffic you control to the sites that are most advantageous for you.
Be smart about prioritizing which services you're advertising, too. For example, if you're split camming both indy and big box sites, and you like indy better or earn more from it, only advertise your favorite indy site. Likewise, if you're on cam, it makes no sense to advertise phone sex on twitter because phone sex isn't as lucrative. If a dude wants phone sex, fine, but gently encourage guys toward the most profitable service you're offering at the moment.
As to wanting to offer the guys lots of options so they can go to their favorite, I feel that's an unnecessary level of customer service. Direct guys to where YOU want them to go - the sites that benefit YOU the most. For the most part, guys aren't picky, and if they like you, they'll click whatever link will get them to your room asap. If some dude does happen to be picky about where he wants to see you, it's not like they're shy about asking for what they want.

Welcome Back Julie! You're gonna get quick answers because we have threads started every day asking the very same questions. I usually start the day by moving and merging things otherwise the entire first page would be, How Do I Make Money? Why arent I making Money? Why is it so dead? I could go on. What Im gonna do is move this to one of the sticky threads up top. Its a few years old but I swear the amazing advice included in the thread is still relevant. Also there are other stickies up top that could help you as well.

Hi, I have been selling cam shows for going on 2 months now. I started right before backpage closed their adult sections and I was making good money by posting daily ads. But now (with that section no longer avail.) everytime I post a ad on there or on craigslist, someone flags it down. And in backpage case, a lot of times my ads doesn't even get posted. So if anyone have any advice on how to advertise my shows, I am all ears. Because right now I'm just doing regulars(which I'm very grateful for).
And before anyone tells me to join a cam site, I have but I have made more money doing this by myself.
