Umm.. I didn't read through all of the threads (don't have that much time). But, to the OP. You are CUTE! You are proportioned well. You have a great booty. I'm 5'2", 98lbs, blond and I lose $$ to big booty girls a lot! (Btw, I don't want to be this thin. I don't try. I WANT curves. Just not really happening for me).
Here is my .02 Do some running, or go to the gym or buy some dumb bells and get to some squats and lunges. Your booty will be so perfect!
@Nina_: Is that you in your avatar? If so, you are really, really pretty.
@Michelle11: Hi! It's Dorien. I lost my password and had to start over. I swear i must have 4,000 posts on here, but now I look like a newbie, lol.:D

Your body is hot! To be honest you look way better than most of the girls that work at my club.

Hell the OP doesn't even need to go to a black club. Here in PA she'd be good at a mid tier club and done up to the 9's maybe upscale. Idk about D's but maybe Risque.

Your body is fantastic, IMO. Exactly what I looked like at my physical best. And I worked freaking hard to get there, so I understand your frustration at people suggest you lean up. The only other time I've been skinnier was when I had a flu for over a month and couldn't even keep water down. I'm just not a petite person.
The only thing I would suggest materially speaking is doing your hair as best as you can afford. It changes your look so so much. (Speaking from experience as I've danced with both very short hair and long long extensions.) A good quality long weave or wig will make you look like a stripper rather than just a cute girl off the street.
I can't comment on these specific clubs or even race issues in the US. But have you tried reapplying at the clubs you tried over three months ago? There could be so many factors in why you were rejected the first time aside from "They thought I was ugly/too thick/too urban." Perhaps they simply had too many girls hired. Or the manager was too busy/stressed to bother training new girls, especially those with no/limited club experience. I was rejected at my first club in December (busiest time of the year) simply cos they were too busy. I called back early January when it was quieter and they were more than happy to hire me. Perhaps they have a different manager now who will like you.
As for dancing, you say you're a good dancer. Okay. I'll assume you already know this, but are you keeping it super slow, sexy and simple? I've seen many new dancers who have obvious dance training, but they look awkward on stage because they're not dancing like strippers! They're dancing too fast or just look too stagey/deliberate. Or they'd look fabulous at a normal club/gogo dancing, and just keep the same style. It generally doesn't work in strip clubs.
Good luck! And if you don't get hired in your area,v come to Melbourne, Australia! Pretty much every black dancer here banks because of the novelty factor. Meanwhile, I have to fight to stand out from dozens of blonde white Aussies. Argh!

Good thread, besides the arguments. I never post on here... But to a newbie or any other girl reading and being able to relate to the girl who started this thread, being black and getting hired at most white clubs (upscale or not) especially in the DC/Baltimore area, can be difficult. Trust me I know. I'm 5'5 135 pounds black and beautiful (If I may say) and I get rejected sometimes too. Not only am I extremely fit, wear expensive weaves and always have my nails done, I also speak well. It's just hard as a black girl sometimes. I feel that with a lot of clubs in the area, you have to know somebody to kind of "put you on." White girls that I work with never get it when I say it's hard to get hired, because frankly, they're held to not as high of a standard as a black woman like myself, is. Always remember that my beautiful black dancers. be the best "you" you can be. Correct make up application and a nice weave installed by a professional go a looooooong way. Also dress the part. You can't go in there looking bummy. Dress up, accentuate your best features. Good luck and make some money girl! Tell us how it goes. I'm looking for a new club myself...

I saw that you got hired, that is great!! I think you're gorgeous, I'd definitely buy a dance. :) Before I saw you got a job I was going to suggest just asking the manager why they didn't hire you. I haven't auditioned yet and that's my plan if I don't make it. Doesn't seem like it would hurt to get feedback from the one who rejected you. So if you ever need to find a new club (I hope you don't, but just in case), maybe try that. Good luck in MD and make lots of $$$!!

I dunno gogo1... I think you look great. Not "perfect", maybe, but just fine.
Worth considering is the fact that we are not seeing you in perhaps the most flattering bottoms & stripper shoes, which we all know can work WONDERS. (Gitchu some tiny scrunch booty shorts, woman!)
I think the "rolls" on your back when you turn around are just a function of your skin as you move, much as we will ALL have a bit of a roll when we sit down, no how flat & toned our stomach may be.
Yes, you have a little "weight in your thighs", but I see muscle there, too. They look athletic, to me. My legs carry weight in a similar way to yours, and guys think it's HOT.
I'm guessing that if you lose weight, it's going to come off the top half of your body first, am I right?
*Definitely* don't lose more than 10 lbs., if you do you're going to lose much of what makes your body beautiful... its curvy softness. (Yes, you totally can be soft AND toned!)
Guess what... MOST men who come to spend money at strip clubs prefer gorgeous, fit, yet CURVY women. There is a small, very specific percentage of the male population that is into the fitness model type... all abs an rock-hard thighs and whatnot. I know *that* level of fitness is rarely appreciated down here in my part of the country, where, by the way, you would be hired anywhere you wanted.
I don't know about hiring standards in DC or MD, but I know men. ;)
I really, truly don't think it's your body, or your face. Tone up a bit, sure... that never hurts. Get that smile fixed, right away... that's one of your most important tools! Other than that... make sure your hair/ makeup/ outfit/ music is at its very best, get those lashes to battin'!
Best of luck to you

Congrats! You obviously have a lot of perseverance as I know I wouldn't have kept trying if I'd been rejected even once! That trait will help you so much in this job! Rock it!xx
