View Full Version : SW Ladies that like to shoot?
love my old school 45's .the polymer wonder pistols might be worth looking at and gives me a excuse to go shopping too.
The "polymer wonder pistol" that has gotten me and many other a 1911 shooter away from the 1911, has been the M&P line by Smith & Wesson. It has 1911 like ergonomics, 1911-like thumb safety (or not if you dont want it) and has been approved and vetted by some of the more high level shooters out there, and adopted by many a PD. Major drawback is the stock trigger (latest generation is better I hear) but Apex makes after market trigger for it that is "must have" and still keeps the costs at a fraction of a good 1911. See:

How often do you get to practice?
I used to go to the range every week but then they closed for remodeling and I got a puppy so I haven't practiced in a bit! I'm a fair shot with the sig but the bodyguard trigger is so heavy my groupings are usually left of center.

How many rnds through the body guard? Trigger should smooth out, but if you have a fair amount of trigger time with the gun and the trigger is still heavy, maybe have a smith lighten and smooth it out. There may also be after market triggers for it. Do NOT have the trigger made too light (4-5lbs is general considered as light as you want to go on self defense/duty gun) as that can lead to an AD/ND under stress.

I had an Israeli girlfriend that served in Israel's army. She was proficient with the Uzi.
I was able to find a photo of her.

That's hot.
What do you think ladies? I was at the range yesterday and saw a gal shooting this. Had to take a pic! It's an S&W .22 and for an extra $50, they will do that paint job she said.
The .22 is a good way to get women to get used to the AR platform, etc. When I asked how she liked her pink AR, she said "I love it!"
Hey, if a pink AR in .22 gets a gal to the range and it's leads to bigger and better things, then all good I say!

We used to shoot firearms, now we are told we shoot platforms. This is one of life's mysteries, along with why anyone would want an AR in .22 rimfire when something like the browning is available.

Various reasons, most obvious of which is wanting to have the same manual of arms of the AR platform while saving $$$ on ammo. If one just wants a .22 rimfire rifle, then I agree, that or the basic Ruger is great. But, the M4 AR platform, does offer a level of modularity, balance, and ergonomics few rifles can match, hence its popularity and long life as the go to platform.

Does a bow & arrow count?

^^ I am also a really good shot with a bow and arrow! So much fun to play Robin Hood, hee hee.
Surprisingly enough, I am pretty good with my boyfriend's Mosin-Nagant rifle. It's pretty funny to watch since I'm all of 105 pounds and that thing has ridiculous recoil. I am utter crap with the .22 pistol though... my hands are not steady enough. I need heavier guns apparently.
