Call centers seem to be a common fast-quit environment! I lasted a week in an outbound call center pre-selling kitchens. The people on the phone were like "I can't afford to heat my house, never mind buy a kitchen!".
My longest vanilla job was a year. I had a nervous breakdown and was taken into a psych hospital. Since then I've been self employed for three years and loving it. I'll never go back.

I worked at Dairy Queen for 1 day. I was pregnant and felt sick I just wasn't into it. I felt really bad for quitting!

I used to volunteer for a woman's shelter and I would go to low income schools and teach about safe sex and sex education when I was an undergrad. Now I didn't quit, but I did get "fired" from the school district. I was in the gym doing an assembly for all the 8th graders. We finshed through the STDS because the school required us to do that first, then we were able to actual teach sex ed. I finished explaining the male genitalia and moved on the female. I said vulva and labia then was quickly escorted out by the vice principal. So 20 minutes.

Reason: That was a distraction that the boys do not need to know...

wow @ everyone in here who has worked at a call center! people have always told me I must be an extremely patient person- I've been working at a market research firm for almost 3 years! but it's sucking the life out of me :< I'm too scared to quit and just do camming and my other side incomes full time. BUT if I didn't have to go to that hell-hole a few times a week (it's not even a full time job...) I could focus more on all my other jobbies. sigh

I think it should only be 20 hours a week.. that is about as long as anyone can stand at a job.

I do not believe the human species is meant to work as much as society has us setup to work, just to afford basic necessities like food and toilet paper. :-p

I've never quit a job, but I did have a temp job working in a warehouse of a very popular and expensive clothing line. I hated it so much. I stood for 8 hours a day pulling tags off and re-tagging children's clothing. Luckily they only needed the help for 2 weeks before they released all of us temps. That was the most gracious I've ever been for being "let go". lol

2 hours at a telemarketing place. I have never felt so degraded.

When I left the boss was such a bitch about it, he was like "I knew you couldn't handle this" Fuck you dude, have fun harassing people on the phone from your shitty offiice ::)

Telemarketing is THE WORST.

I made it at least a few months at a *lot* of shitty jobs, but telemarketing? 2 days post-training. It literally eats your soul.

I worked a vanilla job for about a year. The fastest I've quit was strip clubs. Try a new club out, work one shift, hate it and dip. Did it with 3 clubs. Maybe 4

I worked at a museum for about three days of training. I was absolutely desperate for a job & was so grateful when they called me in for training. The whole time I was training I knew that I wouldn't be able to do the job they wanted me to do. It was way too hard for too little money. Then I found out that the amount of hours I would get each week would max out at 20. I felt so bad for quitting, but it wasn't worth the hour of driving each shift.

I have a fantastic work ethic. i don't just not show up or quit & walk out. So this was a pretty fucking weird sitch.

My friend's boyf worked at SigAlert.....the traffic thing....in the early morning (4am early). He said an evening position opened up. Got the job. It was a distance to drive from my apt. at the time. First day they're like, "Come in with him at 4am and he will help train you." Then it became "okay, so we'll see you tmrw at 4. Its only for a few days."
(I took the job saying that i specifically would not do early morn hrs.. AND dude friend didn't train me at all.)

So there were 2 managers, one male, one female. Okay, so dude manager had an office with post its covering every.single.wall. entirely.
Lady manager..... I guess she had a miscarriage a few months prior. When she approached me she said "My baby died inside me." WHAT.THE.SHIT?
not to mention dude manager was one of those who hovers over your shoulder and critiques everything. I know how to fucking type, bro.

so when the early am continued and then they wanted me to come back at 4pm, I was like, "Thanks, this has not really been working for my schedule. Thanks for a nice week and a half."

How is anyone even supposed to react to that shit? I'm just imagining her coming up to you totally dead eyed like in a horror movie and saying it.

Scary.

After one shift at Shoney's. The boss told me to lose my one inch lobe plugs and close up my holes before I come back on the next shift. I was like it is impossible and why did not she mention about this at the interview. Then I saw all the nasty stuff in the back of kitchen, especially nasty over piled of trash with all old food, next to the grill and the floor was so nasty. My last straw was my trainer. The trainer accused me for stealing and eating the shrimps before serving to the customers.. COME AGAIN? I did not do that, but the boss was on her side.... and get this... the trainer was fired few months back for stealing food and got rehired few days before my arrival. Why would I allow myself return to Shoney's after all this in one shift?

I worked at a bikini coffee place for 6 hours. The girls were nice but the owner got half of your tips. I'm sorry, but if I'm going to be standing in a poorly insulated coffee shack in pasties in the middle of December and have to arrive at 5am, I sure as hell better be getting all of my freaking tips! I remember it was like 32 degrees that day and having the drivethru window open every couple minutes doesn't really help keep you warm. the two girls training me were super nice and at the end of the 6 hour shift, we had made like $60 in tips a piece (which I was cool with considering it was a really quiet morning). I only got $30 of my tips and when I asked the owner why, she told me that the business gets half of your tips. I quit on the spot.

but CAM sites also takes over half your tips...lol which i think is complete bullshit.. you should get 100% or at least a bigger percentage of your tips.

When I was 18, I did a four hour shift in the seediest bar with the touchiest-feeliest men. Back then I was a nervous wee thing! Never went back. Bless.
Nowadays I'd work it and get all the tips.

1-I survived telemarketing as well! Honestly, it was a six hour shift, I made it through three hours or so. I went on a lunch break and never came back.
2-I spent many backbreaking years working as a nursing assistant, then an easier but still physically demanding one as a nurse. In retrospect I SHOULD have quit those much faster. The first job I had as an aide was in Geri-psych. That means a mixture of extremely heavy people to lift alone-no hoyer lift, no help-and very physically able, very strong, mentally unstable patients. It did a number on my body and there were more than a handful of times I felt scared for my life. I was there a year and quit as soon as I turned 18, cuz you had to be 18 to work at most nicer places up here.

I just quit a bartending job after 1 shift of training. It was a lil dive bar in the middle of nowhere, took me an hour to drive there. I thought it would be a good place bc the owner pays $10/hr plus tips if u do "bikini" night and $6/hr for reg bartending, which is more than hourly for bartenders in my area. Then I found out I would have to also cook and prep all the food, work a fryer AND bartend. The place was dirty, all the guys were hillbillies,,and the owner would weigh all the bottles and if he thought u overpoured you would have to owe him $$. Then the girl tells me the owners are always watching the cameras to make sure you're doing what ur supposed to be, and he would send in secret "customers" to make sure you are being "friendly" and making food/drinks right. And the girl I trained with only made like $50 in tips, and the owner told me he wanted me to do other things like dance on the bar and jello wrestling. Why drive an hour and do all that when I can just dance at a club? Lol I must be spoiled;)

I just quit the job I got at a gas station after about 2 weeks. I only got 3 checks from there. I actually almost got fired for calling in on my second day (because I was drinking the night before lol. I'm used to being able to work whenever because of camming) It was stupid. I was never scheduled to work more than 3 days a week. 5 hours a day. No should be expected to live off that income.

I've stuck out most of my vanilla jobs far longer than I should have, but only because I had no idea that this kind of job was up for grabs.

My shortest and worst was a cosmetic factory, and it took me three days to walk off of. It was well over 100 degrees on the floor, the shift was 12 hours long and there were only 2 five minute (unpaid) breaks and a 15 minute (unpaid) lunch break. And you could just forget about a bathroom break. You were on your feet the entire time sorting/packaging products on a conveyer belt and moving really heavy boxes. They pay sucked at less than $6/hr, and they made it continuously clear that if anyone even said the word union, they would be shit canned. Can't imagine why...

Had things been more comfortable at home I might have tried to stick it out longer, but at the time I was sleeping on a thin mattress on a concrete floor, which does not agree with a pregnant body that has been hunched over and on its feet for 12+ hours straight. I just couldn't do it.

I might not make much from the adult industry, but I make enough to snub every job I've ever had.

I worked for about a week as part of a crew that maintained trails and things at a nature park in my area. I get really bad seasonal allergies, and my dad was very wary of allergy medicine, because I have glaucoma, and there are some things that I'm not supposed to take, and this was way before I discovered that local honey keeps my allergies at bay.

I worked at A&W for 3 shifts. The manager was a huge asshole to me after he saw I had a tongue piercing. And he didn't even have the balls to confront me about it. He had the owner call me at home about it after my shift!! And to be fair I did try to take it out from day one but it was the flat top ones and I could not get that thing unscrewed to save my life.
I am bed, bath, and beyond done with managers/bosses/and the sort.

I work in a retail store with tons of earrings, tongue ring, septum and lip ring had them from day one. I always flipped my septum up. Well one day 3 years after I started my manager said that the general manager said I can only have one facial piercing so either lip ring or tongue has to go. I took my lip ring out for that day but the next day I saw a girl with two lip rings in and asked her if her manager (different areas have different managers) told her she couldn't have them she said no so I put mine back in.

I got hired as a waitress at a bar around the corner from my house & I quit after 2 hours of training. Well....not quit more like never came back after that night lol

The bar was dead most days of the week except for Saturdays when it was PACKED to the point that people would walk out on their tabs all the time & get away with it. The waitresses have to pay for the tabs when people walk out & I don't have any money to spare! Nope! Honestly, I only got the job for vanilla appearances. I wanted to have a job that I can tell my granny about and not have to lie to her face all the time about cam. I absolutely HATE to lie to people I love!

I have been camming for almost 2 years so I am pretty set in my ways. I love working for myself wayyyyy too much to give it up at this point. I catch all types of attitude when people fuss at me and tell me what to do. Like PLEASEEEE stfu yelling at me because I forgot to wipe down a table! You can kiss my ass, I'd rather play with my pussy lol :)

While being on the inside of a Domination studio (applied for Dom, not sub) getting my introduction following around the Dominatrix who had a client, and learning we as Dom are supposed to give the client a "happy ending" if they request it. But no worry, only with the use of condoms...

I really didnt expected that. I was in for the hardcore whipping/torturing/humiliation
not for making guys cum by hand

Lasted: 3 houres... I think?

I was a server at a new restaurant specializing in Irish fare and LOTS of alcohol. The manager/owner got drunk and fired everyone one time. Another time in front of the whole full restaurant he called his wife a "stupid cunt whore". He straight up called me a "fucking idiot" to my face in front of a customer because I was filling in for the hostess without being trained on her computer, so I was using pencil and paper to count table rotation. I waited until they had a super super busy day and quit via text message 10 min before I was scheduled. (Important: I wasn't putting any co-workers out because whenever we were short last minute the "fucking idiot" owner would fill in. Bwahahahahaaaaaa! Asshole had to work without a break from 4:30 until 3:30). Fuck that place.

In 6 hours there, I made $80. If I'm sitting around on cam 3 hours and don't make that I'm livid. It was freaking freezing and I was on my feet the whole time. Plus, bikinis aren't a great cover against boiling water/coffee (yay third degree burns!).

35 minutes. I decided to go 'vanilla' --- hopped in a car to start going on sales call. The "boss" pulled over at a gas station and I bailed out and RAN (if I were Mr. Gump, my leg braces would be flying off). I am a fat chick, I don't run but that day I did. Everything about it seemed completely fucked up and I felt my life spiraling out of control. I made it to a Subway, went into a back booth and called my best friend to come get me.

45 minutes at my first job ever. I was 14 and it was at McDonalds. They put me on the register without training and people treat you like shit. It was in my hometown which is a suburb outside the city known for people being stuck up assholes. I got to the point of..."if one more person is an asshole to me I swear..." and then here comes the group of snobby stay at home Moms whose husbands are all rich and feel like everyone should kiss the ground they walk on. You know the type, the ones that all run the community committees and what not. Well there is a little thing called carbonation in soda and after the fizziness died down her cup was literally like 1/2cm from the top of the cup. She got super nasty with me and demanded me to refill her cup. I told her she was a bitch and can go fill up her own drink for all I care and thanks for making my first and only day at work a great one. Then I quit on the spot and walked out. I always am super nice to the people who work fast food now because of this. You know it has to be like that a lot because the manager called me wanting me to come back even after that, but I told her I just can't do it. I can't let people treat me bad over something petty and smile in their face. That is just not me.
