I understand that struggle. It's like I don't want to be out dated, yet I also want to play to the customers. I think remix work well. Something old and new.

The blessing of being an older dancer is I care so much less about stages. I'm already plotting my private dance hustle mid-way through the first set.

I am in my late 30's. I pass for mid-20's in the broad light of day, and of course the club is daaark, so it's not really *looking * young that is the concern. I've also got a pretty firm grip on keeping my outfits and accessories trendy and NOT dated (no rhinestones, no high-leg g-strings,

What's wrong with rhinestones?
I'm also noticing younger dancers pulling the sides of their thongs up their hips when they are dancing; makes their butts look long.....and like a wedgies.

Haha yeah, high waisted stuff has since come into style big time since this thread was made. I remember high cut stuff looking 80s and aging af to me , but now it's bay watch one pieces and thongs pulled higher

This thread just made my day. I'm 33, been dancing for ten years .I'm the BIGGEST klutz so it took me forever to learn to really dance and only in the last 2-3 years have I bothered to learn pole tricks. Didn;t need em back in the day, was always catering to the crowd at the tip rail! Music wise I love a little bit of everything. I work with a fabulous DJ right now who can mix up my rock and the hip hop in one set and actually make it work. I used to stick to Tom Petty, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Whitesnake....the classic strip club songs. Now I dance to whatever puts me in a good, upbeat mood. Sometimes its Nelly Furtado, sometimes its Flo Rida, sometimes its RHCP or the classic standbys. I find that if I'm really into the song and dancing my heart out, guys eat it up. I had an old man bopping his head around and smiling to Ellie Goulding and Kesha ROFL. Its all about what puts you in a good mood IMHO
