Most use logitech c920, c910, or pro 9000. Some use the bcc950 conference cam. Here's some webcam links....

This is a list of recommended webcams from flirt4free but there might be some webcams that could be added to it, but I do agree with this recommended list.
Logitech Pro 9000
Logitech HD Webcam C270
Logitech HD Pro C910
Microsoft Live CamHD-5000
Logitech C920
Logitech BCC950
I also want to add to it;
Logitech c615
Logitech c930
Microsoft LifeCam Studio
Microsoft LifeCam Cinema
LifeCam Studio
Logitech Orbit
I personally love using a video camera, but I would say this webcams are pretty good. Each have their own perks and qwerks

Logitech C920. A good webcam is one of your most important assets. The logitech C920 is only $69.99 on amazon and is well worth it.

Logitech BCC950 Conference Cam. It's a little pricey (I paid around $200 on eBay, on Amazon it's around $250), but it has a remote and the quality is fabulous.

Agreed. Logitech's are like $50-$100 and you only have to plug it in and run the software. The Evi's have went down in price but they're still expensive. The Evi-D100 which seems to be what's always mentioned and Evi-hd1 (haven't really heard of anyone using this one) were like $1000-$3000. Now you can get the Evi-D100 for around $200-$300 and the Evi-hd1 for around $800-$1000 on Ebay (the prices are higher on other sites like Amazon). You will also need a video capture device and decent lighting as well. Then there's the fact that you can't really easily move the Evi's like you can a regular webcam because its heavier and has more wires. Almost forgot you also need more space to be able to put it on a table or tripod. Evi's can be a headache and a half...Logitech are much more simpler.
i fell in love with the whole camera until I read about 21FPS
I'm kind of liking it too....I wish it had a remote and pan/tilt/zoom though. I also wish there was a video of the quality. Anyways I have no idea what FPS actually does but 21 is the fps for one camera, there's other models with higher fps. Here's the list of the Flea's.
FL3-U3-13S2C-CS and FL3-U3-13S2M-CS
* 1.3 MP
* 1328x1048 at 120 FPS
FL3-U3-13Y3M-C
* 1.3 MP
* 1280x1024 at 150 FPS
FL3-U3-13E4C-C and FL3-U3-13E4M-C
* 1.3 MP
* 1280x1024 at 60 FPS
FL3-U3-32S2C-CS and FL3-U3-32S2M-CS
* 3.2 MP
* 2080x1552 at 60 FPS
FL3-U3-88S2C-C
* 8.8 MP
* 4096x2160 at 21 FPS

i fell in love with the whole camera until I read about 21FPS
The 21 frames/sec limit for the 8.8 megapixel 4096 x 2160 '4K ultra-HD' resolution Flea 3 camera actually comes from the bandwidth limit of the USB 3.0 port. At the moment, there is very little yet available in the way of 4K ultra-HD hardware, and no webcam host supports it.
The 3.2 megapixel 2080 x 1552 'full HD' resolution Flea 3 camera I have runs at 60 frames/sec
this compares to the Logitech C920 / 930 / 950 having 1920 x 1080 max resolution running at 30 frames/sec
a remote and pan/tilt/zoom though
The particular lens I mated with the camera has remote control zoom ... that is actually accomplished by a tiny electric motor readjusting the focal length of the lens rather than by just 'throwing pixels away' via so-called 'software zoom'.

For now since last year I have 2 logitech c920 webcams,but saving to buy 2 bcc950 conference cams or 2 logitech orbit cam,i really like the idea to have a cam with remote and zoom,pan,tilt etc. Not sure which one its going to be
^^
yeah, me too. I'm loving my c920 (and since a custie paid for it i hate the idea of buying one myself haha) fucking 100€! I have a tripod and everything so that's cool but I reaaaally like the idea of remote and zoom... But I think c920 has better quality? Or similar? That's why I was asking. I would freaking love to control by remote my c920. I guess I could use a program but I'm kinda sure it wouldnt work with the encoder...

I use the c910, but I have the c920 also. For some reason I feel like the c910 has way better picture quality. I much prefer the coloring of the c910 to the c920. I bought the c920 thinking it would be better but I quickly went right back to my beloved c910. :)

My pro9000 that I use on Adultwork was goosed so I ordered a c920. I use the c910 on Streamate. I DO NOT like the c920. I just can't get the colours to look natural, and the pic isn't clear when streaming (recording is great though), it looks to me like I'm using some shitty built in camera. :-( That's £60 wasted. :-(

I have a logitech c270, and it works fine, was cheap, clear stream and colors, my major complaint is that it cannot mount on anything except a computer monitor.
I want a hi-def webcam, that had a CLIP as the mount, that is wireless, and has a remote control. Is that too much to ask?

Logitech c920. It's the highest rated webcam and very affordable. Don't buy the new version (c930? or something like that) it doesnt have as good of reviews. I think that most girls use the c920. I've never had a problem with it.

I have the opposite problem. I like how I look on my 920, but hate the colors on my 910. They look too cartoony to me. Also I hate that the 910 doesn't have a tripod mount. I did not realize that when I bought it off Ebay.

I love my C910. From what I have heard the 920 is not mac compatible and the 930E doesn't come with any software. I got my C910 from Futureshop.ca if anyone is still looking for one (although I don't know if they ship outside of Canada)

Different monitors might give different results, but i tried same brand cameras on the same monitor and the color hues were different on the default setting. I think they don't use the same lens in all their cams, it might also depend where they were built i guess. When i look at lens and lens covers, they might have different colour: pinkish, or greenish hue, which might affect the end results of colours. In my attachments you can see the same camera brand lens covers and the difference under same light condition. On the 9000 i saw this difference of colour on the lens themselves.

Just wondering if any of you guys have any updates on how you're liking the c930's? My c910 is on the way out the door, it's freezing every time I try to zoom and getting extremely hot. From everything I've read I don't think I want to get a 920 so trying to decide between getting another 910 or upgrading to the 930. Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated :)

OMG I want to use my dslr ugh that would be fantastic. I wish I had the motivation to figure that one out lol. I honestly hate the way my c920 looks but I know there's nothing better. It's washed out but too dark at the same time. I use great photography light bulbs with umbrellas, one on each side of my desk, then two soft ikea lamps on each back corner of the room behind me. Still looks NOT hd...

Its recommend to not use a DSLR for live streaming because it overheats (which will eventually ruin your camera). If you want a higher quality stream its recommend to use a camcorder or surveillance camera. However I was looking at the DSLR Panasonic Gh4 and it was said that its specifically made to not overheat.
Anywho to set up a DSLR camera as a webcam you can use the usb cable that comes with it, a video capture device, or a video capture card. The thing that sucks about using a DSLR as webcam is that it can't be recognized as one so you'd have to use a capture program and capture the screen. But I was also reading that you can use Hdmi to live stream but I haven't tried that yet. Here's some video how to setup your DSLR as a webcam.

I've only used two webcams so far, and both were by Logitech and both were awesome!
The go-to webcam a lot of camgirls start with is the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 because it's affordable and nice quality - however, I don't think that line is compatible with macs because I tried to use mine with my friend's macbook air and it didn't work >__>
The second webcam by Logitech (this one DOES work with macs) is the BCC950 Conference Cam - it's more expensive but it comes with a remote for zooming/tilting and I love it to pieces :D

So as a cam girl the most important purchase is buying a webcam or even a video camera. Now choosing one is just based on preference and budget. I personally enjoy using a video camera and only really use webcams for video blogging. but I do have my eye on Logitech conference webcams the ones that have wireless remote controls.
So I did some research the quality of your video is partially based on what camera you have and your lighting. You can have a horrible webcam but if your lighting is done right no one will know - 3 point lighting system is a good place to start.
Then you want to consider a computer these days anything with a dual or quad core is ideal for camming. but if you are going to split your camera feed you will ideal want TWO cameras and probably TWO microphones and who maybes even TWO monitors or ONE giant one or a giant flat screen TV as your monitor.
The possibilities are endless. If you are going into a camera or computer store and you happen to ask the sales people questions all you need to keep focus on is streaming live video like (i.e Ustream or a LIVE TV Youtube) computers you need to know the CPU how will your computer processing all of this information because you will have multiple windows open, maybe multiple cameras open, maybe music playing and a microphone. Go for the highest number in CPU and Ghz you can buy anything over $600 is ideal now.

does the c930e seem to have its cord come loose on the inside like the 920's do, I just had another one do this to me, if you move it the wrong way, you get disconnected. this has happened to 3 of my 920's. And its before the year is up. there is no fraying or anything wrong visibly, so it has to be on the inside

I just got the c920 and hate it, sending it back to Amazon. It doesn't focus as well as my c910 (it's crapping out, have had it 2 years). Also I find the colors very skewed, even when I adjust my settings. I also don't find it as movable for angles I need. So I'll pay more and get another c910.

Yes I found a thread. Please help. I have 3 920's. And for whatever reason on my desktop I can only adjust the color settings for just the one cam. IF I have them all plugged in at the same time. Odd thing is sometimes it lets me but more often than not I can't. Right now I cant and it's driving me crazy. Im using the Logitech software to make my adjustments. Can someone please recommend a non-Logitech software that will allow me to make adjustments to the two additional cameras? When I use apps on my computer like Skype it will just bring up the advanced settings for Logitech software. And that ain't working. I really don't want to use versoft for every site. So that's why Im not doing it that way. Please help me.

Okay nevermind. After combing the internet I've found that the Logitech C920 DOES NOT recognize more than one webcam on the same PC. It's a driver issue. SO if you are using the lws software it's not gonna work consistently. Not even 3rd party software is allowing me to change the settings for it. It only brings up a Logitech box. So basically the C910 may be the better camera. That is if you like to splitcam without software.
Edited: Just removed the lws drivers for the c920 from my pc. Then downloaded the lws280 drivers for the C910. It works. For now. Can't believe it took me two hours to think of that. I don't even feel like working anymore. For anyone else having this issue here is the link to the c910 page http://support.logitech.com/product/hd-pro-webcam-c910

I use the c910 and love it. Logitech recently came out with the c930e but I haven't seen anyone here say anything about trying it yet.
I use the 930E and have for about the last 8 months or so, its way more compatible with my iMac then the 920C was and has an amazing picture and quality, its basically the same as the 920 but it works better with mac;) great cam also! And it doesnt fade out light to dark to light to dark like my 920c did either.
