Had a truly wonderful shift last night. I made money, and the money was effortless. A steady flow of nice customers (bachelor parties, couples, dudes coming from a golf tournament) who were happy to spend. They tipped on stage, called me over for dances, tossed cash at me for sitting with them. I left thinking I'd made about $400, then I came home and counted $650, then I woke up this morning and found two additional hundos tucked in my boot. So I actually made $850. I kind of wish I had stayed the extra hour til close, so I could have broken a grand.

It's funny because the shift before this was terrible. I made $40 in spite of hustling my ass off for seven hours. Stripping is so unpredictable!

I also low-key love stripping during covid (now that I am vaccinated along with most people in New Orleans). Rhinestoned masks are cute...you don't have to do much with your makeup other than a false eyelash to look nice. And I love that clubs close at 1am now. I cannot deal with being at work until 5am to make money.

I finally auditioned at a new club. What an interesting experience. The vibe of the club is a bit different from what I’m used to, but it was fun!

Second night at this new club... I’m not sure if it’s a covid thing and not being able to do VIP dances, but this club is def a stage club. I’m used to the slow/seductive type dancing, but this is def a hip hop club without being considered “urban?” Pole work is also a big deal here. Lol It is def something I need to get used to, but I’ll figure it out. Aside from not doing VIP dances, it was nice to be paid to just hang out/talk. The customers have also been very nice so far. Again, it’s prob due to covid, but after reading horror stories about Detroit clubs.. it seems like as of right now, they’re just happy that the clubs are open, and aren’t really expecting extras. I’ll work a few more nights/days at the club, and go from there!

Blaaaaah so glad to finally be going out of town soon. I love my home club but being *only* here for a little over a year now has me burned out! Ah well, time to get out there and keep going tonight and hope more new guys walked in the door

I like getting to my club when it opens (4pm) because there's no house fee, and the club doesn't get a cut from your dances until 7pm. There are also a lot fewer girls and a decent amount of happy hour customers. I usually make a couple hundred by the time most girls start trickling in around 8. The problem is, I can't hustle hard for longer than 6 hours. By the time the club really fills up, I don't have a lot of energy to approach people. I made myself stay until a little after midnight Saturday night, thinking I would just do stage rotations. But so many girls clocked in at like, 11pm that I left before I end up getting called to the stage.

I should have just left at 10pm and gone to bed early to have more energy for Mother's Day. I would like to be able to hustle harder. That being said, I still did decent Saturday night and had nice customers. When I went up to the locker room to change, there were a lot of dancers just eating and chilling. One of my friends who used to dance at this club said she always made 75% of her money in the last hour. I guess I could go hard from 4-10 and then nap in the dressing room until last call.

That's a tough call! Is the saved house fee and extra ~$1-200 worth it compared to what you'd make if you just showed up later and stayed later?

I don't know! I need to play around with my shift times and find out. I've only stayed until close one night since I've been back post-lockdowns, and that was only because I was already with a good customer.

I just really don't like working until 1am because I have a vanilla day job. Going back and forth is hard.

I tried a new club yesterday !
It was in that city where smoking is allowed . :/

I'm happy I went in.
I worked about 1:45 p.m. - 8p.m. and was really happy with what I made !

I thought I was about to leave at 6:30 with $250 ish ( that $ wasn't easy I was circling everyone haha ) . Then I hit a little streak about 6 p.m. with easier sales and was pleased !
I originally thought I was going to stay until 7 p.m. but ended up staying until 8 p.m and leaving with $639!

I would say my fave thing was that I was trying to leave at 7:45 and walking by the bar to go get my bag ( they didn't have a locker for me and we hid my bag in the broom closet lol ) . This guy walked up and asked if I was a dancer ! I did a room with him on my way out the door ! He nabbed me while sitting there with my keys in my hand . They had these 15 min. room options and I found it was a nice option for privacy ( I just don't see that " mini " type of VIP very often ).

I had some odd moments of feelings coming up of " I am totally over this " even though I was making money so I am going to be in tune with those thoughts haha ! Of course they were there more in the leaner parts of the evening so there is that.

I don't know if the stage thing is a covid modification but there were no chairs BY the stage which felt so strange.

Instead of stage fee there were dancers drinks ( 10 required ) which seems scary but the waitresses sell them for you and from the guys side they are not super expensive . My fake drinks only cost the guy $4 . They are very easy to sell and get house fee covered ( any missing you just give the club $1 for each ). I kind of liked the system because I hate starting " in the hole " . This way your house fee just gets paid as you sit a bit and chat.

Went in for a midshift yesterday even though I didn’t feel like it because I was super fatigued and had a headache. All because somebody reached out to me, wanted to meet with me, and said he would be there. Then when the time came...nothing. Texted, heard nothing, couple hours later “oh I’m helping my friend out with something”...freaking flaked and I was irritated,

BUT then I met an awesome new customer and thanks to him and a couple other random guys I did pretty well. xD which is good because midshift at that club usually sucks. Usually the best times is before 4pm or after 11pm I’ve noticed over there. Phew

Worked my vanilla day job today, then had a few hours to kill before I was supposed to be at a graduation party. So I went to the club and worked 4pm to 8pm. I was not expecting much on a short, slow Tuesday afternoon/early evening shift, and I did not get much ($80). But it was more than I would have gotten if I had taken two pole classes (my original plan), and I got a workout in, and I was also still dolled up when it was time to go to the party. On the way back to my car I stopped at the adult novelty store and bought 50 whippits to surprise my partner with.

I appreciate that this club has 4-hour shifts. It makes me much more likely to pop in and work if I know I won't be stuck there for 6-8 hours.

Left with $850 on a day shift! Had two guys from previous shifts at this place I just started working at come back in to see me. One even left when he saw I was with someone else and came back a few hours later lol. So excited to keep this momentum going.

Ok I didn't want to make a thread just for this but -

Ummmm my club got rid of floor dances during covid and is not bringing them back. I think the lowest option is going to be 2/$60.

I am really not sure how I feel about this. It kind of eliminates me wanting to go in unless I'm really in motivated super hustle mode. No more "Eh we'll see what happens" and just casually sell 1-2 $20 dances to every guy.

On top of that they are probably taking cuts of the 2/$60 even. They already take 14-18% of the other room fees PLUS our house and tipout. Greedy ass owner.

I have to stop working the 4th of July weekend because it has never been good for me. I worked from 4pm to 2am Friday and left with $150. It was bad for a lot of other dancers, too. A manager actually apologized to me for how bad it was. Also I broke my shoe on stage. Why do shoes always break on stage? Why can't they break at pole class or like, literally any other time?

Worked a midshift (4pm to 10pm) and had low expectations given that it was an early Wednesday night in the off season following a holiday weekend. I made a fairly easy $200 which I'm fine with. The club wasn't ever crowded but the customers were steady, nice, tipped OK and were not hard to sell to. I also seem to be developing a regular who is only ever good for one dance, but is very sweet, the kind of person you can sit with and who will order you a drink when you need a break from hustling.

I'm going to try to work more weekdays at this club. Way better than weekends IMO.

At a table with me, another dancer, and a customer there…

-one of the club furniture from another table waves goodbye at the other dancer-

Customer with us: so are you going to try to get a quick dance from him as he heads out?
Dancer: oh him? No, he only gave me $7 all day. And he expects me to just sit and chat with him for so long. I don’t want to do that. I’d only do that if he was hot.
Customer: So am I hot?
Dancer: No

Last shift was underwhelming .

I did sell my first dance to a couple. :)
She informed me she had his dick locked in a cage.
I gave her a hot dance while they held hands.
I liked them.

As an overall life practice I’m focusing on resilience.
Relating to the club this means to just let it go “ poof “ in the wind if I don’t make a goal every time .

First shift back since before covid hit last night, at a new club too and i did well! A few dollars under $1100 for a thursday night, which according to the other girls is on the higher end of normal for a Thursday here so even though I'm not intending to work another thursday because of having a day job, it's very promising as far as the money in the club goes. It's almost double what I'd expect to come home with after a Thursday at my old club. High stage tips too compared to what I'm used to.

However the money aside, it's definitely going to take used to working here, even the managers are years younger than me. The couple of girls who I told my age were shocked by it, which means i don't stick out like a sore thumb looks wise at least, but my last club had girls from 18 right through to 45. According to one of the girls who has been there for a few years, most of the dancers working are 19-20 and there's a high turn over rate - not because of the club management, but because the place attracts a lot of the pretty young new girl who wants to try it out, but gets sick of it after a few months. It explains why most girls had no or almost no tattoos and there wasn't an implant to be seen haha. I was thinking it was a little unusual for a club here to have somehow amassed so many non-tattooed girls when no tattoos wasn't part of the hiring criteria (I got hired without even taking off my clothes so who knows what I might have had), even a normal office setting would have more woman with tattoos hiding under their clothes here. Very strange as far as the general vibe too, a number of groups who'd come in and sit down with trays of drinks who weren't remotely interested in getting dances or watching the stage. They'd still tip when you came around after your set but paid no attention otherwise and anyone trying to sell dances was shut down immediately.

Traveling dancer math can be so awful , ha!

I cracked $500 BUT I spent $60 hotel , $30 in gas , $45 DJ / security !

At the end ( 12:56 since I pushed myself past my typical midnight cut off ) I felt ok.
Thinking back .... it was kind of HARD . I just mean in a sense of really having to *push it* along . I don't think a single person asked me for a dance and only one guy spent over $100 in a row. Those $20-$50 per person nights can really be a hard grind.

I did feel settled and comfortable. I felt like phones were better controlled in the club ( I did have to ask the DJ to watch for me closely ).
I also realized that it's good for me to step OUT of the place and do a couple 15 min. breaks laying down in my car .
They can be really reviving for me.
It was also needed ( it was SO hot in the place ).

SO ..... $500ish and left with $365ish.
The un-rounded number was bothering me so I went back at Noon the next day before leaving.
I liked that this place opens at NOON now.
I made exactly $35 off a dude ha before driving back.

There were some things bothering me about the night now that I think of it .
One guy I remember was grabby and I think caught me in a weird tired lull .
I felt like I should have been more like " DON'T touch me because you are not SPENDING ".
I think I slinked off but felt skeeved by that ( non-sexual grabs but you know what I'm talking about and not even giving a few bucks ).
I did kick a non-tipper off my stage ( LOUDLY ) which I honestly enjoy.

The guy I got the $35 from this morning was also gross lol but in his defense he gave it to me in like 10 mintues hahaha. I really went to the club just to see IF anyone would even be there at Noon out of curiosity and I like you can pop in during the day and owe the club NOTHING . It makes me want to get more organized with advance marketing and get the guys in there in the day BUT that can waste time in it's own way also ( risking time communicating with them before your shift ). I'm thinking about it though if I come back.

Overall my trip wasn't bad per say and it wasn't *great*.
I feel more settled knowing my " back up " money plan can be called on over the weekend IF my day job is lean. I felt good to see the plan was working. I also KNOW it is super inefficient to work just one night but I just didn't feel great about staying in town two full days. Overall I'm SO GLAD I didn't walk with nearly nothing after 2 hour driving EACH way . I really could see working about once a week being a good fit for me but working two nights in a row could also mean I could skip a week if things go well. Since my clubs are TWO hours each way it does make more sense but I kind of hate working two days in a row. Just thinking out loud, ha.

I had such a wonderful day the day prior with my partner in the forest.
Details will probably be shared another thread lol but I ADORE the openness about this whole " oh maybe I'm not quite fully retired" thing.
He sent me off with good wishes .
Actually my choices were to hang out with his conservative parents or go make money so it was a very easy choice.
We have had plenty of family time with both sides the last week.

He is supportive of my new " just don't touch Fri . / Sat's schedule wise *temporarily* until my money sees a correction rule.
I'm keeping the next 3 weekends ( Fri . / Sat. ) free of social commitments in case I need the money.
What I have HATED in the past is partners not respecting these time frames.
Like ..... this in MY BUSINESS . Just TRUST me that there is reason I want to be there in these particular times . I'M the expert here do don’t pull at me for time that is going to drastically reduce my earnings.

Around the time he thought I'd start sent me a quick text wishing me a good night.
I think I just carry trauma from other partners being so difficult with it.

But men being weird with it ... ugh !

I haven't been back since July I think? My area (NOLA) is still super fucked up from the pandemic and hurricane. There are practically no tourists right now. Like you can go in the Quarter and park anywhere. I think only two clubs are even open in the Quarter every day. Hustler still doesn't have its day shift back. I almost feel like I'm being forced into retirement. Luckily I have a vanilla job that I really dig.

Dancing in socal over the last year has been one hell of a roller coaster. I took a year off to focus on a day job, which thankfully kicked in right before the pandemic went into full swing here. it got me through, but my income dropped to the point that when my old club reopened in October, I quit my day job. The first couple months were AMAZING. My county was open while an adjacent county kept all bars and restaurants closed, and I was bringing in double what I had been making before I left. it kind of tapered off back to normal levels by New Years, and slowed to a trickle in the last few months. There are clubs around here where the money is better, but they're dirty, the dancers are pushy and catty, and etiquette is fucking nonexistent.

Currently, it's been so slow at my home club that I think I'm getting ready to hang my heels up, y'all. I'm burnt out.

It’s weird where I’ve been lately for past few shifts. From what I’ve gathered, number of customers and dancers are both down. And it’s either an easy 4 figures or barely anyone in the door. I literally napped most of the shift last night and only one person came in the door. The owner went ahead and waived the house fee for us last night.

Saturday was alright… nothing to write home about. The number of girls there who seem to be there because they’re struggling seems to be proportionally higher than it was before. I don’t want to be competing with them when I already have what I need… I’d rather be working with them to help them develop their hustle. I don’t think I can get back into this, and I don’t need to, it’s just thst I’m such a busybody and can’t stand the idea of spending my time doing something which isn’t productive. I’d already scheduled for next weekend before I came to this conclusion, but I think if I’m going to stay involved with it, it can’t be in this role.

Didn’t want to go in, but went anyways. I should’ve stayed home. A bunch of cheapskates-of course it only takes one guy, but our job is 20% of actually dancing and 80% of emotional labor. Next time my intuition tells me to stay home because I don’t have the mental capacity to deal with the club I WILL. I tried to push myself and ended up having a mini mental breakdown. There’s such a fine line between making yourself work when you don’t feel like working and when to stay home and self care to avoid too much stripclub stress.

I made enough money for groceries, gas, and to get my nails done at least, but I should’ve stay home and worked the next day.

The weekends are so stressful. It’s a complete numbers game where you talk to guys who play games all night just to find the couple of spenders among a crowd of cheapskates. It’s like mental Olympics to mentally deal with the weekend crowd. Next time, I’ll prepare better mentally to deal.
