I've been depressed so haven't left my house for any social reasons in around a month. One of my friends is paying for me to go see a play tonight with them and I am cranky and I don't want to go. But, then I feel guilty because I am flattered that they were generous enough to pay for everything in the first place just to be able to enjoy my company. I have been on this see-saw of cranky guilt all morning. Why did they even have to ask me to go in the first place?!?

I really enjoy being by myself with my lil dog, I really do. My freind asked me to yoga and I look outside... it is snowing... I have a yoga mat and the internet here, I am good :-D

I do. Fellow HSP & headphones double as a "fuck off can't hear so don't bother" sign. Misophonia is particularly common in HSP's so we do what we can.

Let's face it, EVERYWHERE is too loud for HSP's and my "bat hearing" as my husband calls it. Try being a raw vegan HSP. The SAD at least provides some emotional insulation!

I have misophonia, but it is in relation to my ptsd. I have to have headphones most places.

I am hermit-ish! I have to leave the house once to get Starbucks or I'll go crazy. I actually love being in public. People here are terrify of Transsexual so it gets me high to see them riled up!

Any night owl hermits here? I've never been happy or productive when I have had to be an early riser. Or even a normal riser for that matter. I only leave the house most days to walk my dog. Otherwise I don't go anywhere until after dark. I dont mind going out and doing stuff, i'd just much rather stay home alone with my dog... or do stuff at like 3am when I'm active. Why isn't every store 24hrs?

I feel like you need Vegas in your life for 24 hours. I am not a night owl, but I do like to know if I wanted to shop at 2am, then I can. I moved away from my beach condo in FL because everything close at 10pm. I felt suffocated lol

I AM THE EXACT SAME WAY! I don't get up until noon, on coffee and computer until 3, cook a big meal, walk the dog before dark and then ready to cam. If I have to do errands I'll do them early afternoon or other meetings. I'm doing some short term sugar daddys and meeting them takes it out of me for 2-3 days! I keep my pantry FULL so i can cook whatever I want. Thankfully vegas is a 24 hour town and i can go to the bank after camming at 3am, grocery shopping at 4am or just get breakfast if i want in a ton of 24 hour places to eat. I love this town. PERFECT for a cam model to live and work in.

I think I'm officially down to one real friend that I hang out just one day a week. My other time is spent with my husband. Family is in town for Thanksgiving and I'm trying to plan my cam schedule around their visit....I just don't feel a connection to the outside world like I used to. I feel like I lost a lot of friends because I don't have time to hang out with anyone anymore or I don't want to go out anymore... I get invited places quite a bit and I usually just turn them down. Feeling like such a hermit lately.

I aspire so much to the hermit lifestyle. i live with people right now so its hard to go full hermit. all i want is a flat on my own, with kitties to keep me company. I don't fuck with humans.

I hate being a bitch hermit. It would be nice if there were pso/cam whatever chicks who know this business in my area, subs of Atl. No fun going alone to get my nails done or hang out by myself. I told this one vanilla chick what I do on niteflirt to help her out financially and she started acting weird afterwards. Being a hermit was cool back in 2007/2008 when I started but now? getting old.

So I am a proud new member of the bitch hermit lifestyle. Woke up with a headache, no Aleve in the house. Got my period, no damn tampons...FML! AMAZON PRIME NOW to the rescue! First time using Amazon Prime. Had a long list of stuff I needed and I was DREADING having to go out the house feeling like shit and run all over the place for all of these items. It took me 20 mins of surfing on my couch with my tea in my pjs. I also found out the dog was out of food and its CHEAPER ON AMAZON!! woo hoo!! The amazon prime now tip is SO worth it. I would have spent that much in gas running all over town anyways. And to my surprise, most of the items on my list were CHEAPER on amazon prime than in the drugstores here in vegas. YEAH! I really think the $99 prime membership is the best money spent on becoming a bitch member. Now all I have to do is leave the house for sugar daddy dates and grocery shopping for fresh meat and veggies and pantry items now and then. Life as a bitch hermit ROCKS...!

If you DO ever have to leave the house, Amazon is opening stores designed so that you can just walk out the door with a cart full of stuff, and it automatically scans your items, and charges your card that's on file.
I'm so getting on the Amazon train.

I've NEVER gotten anything that fast! Maybe it depends on location? I've had Prime for several months and always get what I order within 2 days...next day was the quickest I've ever received anything, but it's usually always 2 days.

A HSP here myself, not sure about the misophonia but i am disturbed by certain noises, cant stand a classic clock for example that makes tic-tac so i only have electronic clocks in the house, my hearing is soo good i hear all noises around me but i have a problem with human voices and til now i did not have a name for my 'issue' lol;
if i am in a noisy place or have the windows open & i hear the traffic on this main road outside i cant understand the voice of some people if they dont talk clear or loud enough, while the background noise disturbs me a lot i really struggle to understand some people, i always tell my son to talk clearly cause he normally mumbles & i dont understand him, i hear his voice but cant understand what he is saying.
Lazy ass that dont want to open his mouth and talk properly LOL, he is supposed to have proper diction cause he graduated journalism & communication uni SMH.
It's either me having an issue or these people dont care to talk properly or they have a talking issue themselves....

PS: i avoid going out in loud places like the mall or so, i like to socialize but on a limited level, dont like the crowds, i get very tired & feel uncomfy between too many people, i like peace & quiet at home or the nature with it's specific noises, love the birds singing but not too many or too loud cause then it becomes uncomfy, dont like the crows sounds ahhh, creepy LOL

Im the same way regarding noises.
I swear, I have stealth hearing or something.
I went to an ice skating event last Friday, and had to leave because of how crowded it was.
I thought I could handle it, because it was held outside.
Nope. I was wrong.

Am I unusual? I still love having friends over for dinner and stuff as I love to cook.
I love my job and working from home, but I do love a nice restaurant and a pub or two at the weekend. Is anyone else like that?

Yes! PRIME NOW is like an "online grocery store". They have a lot..not everything...but mostly everything.
YOU HAVE TO ORDER A MINIMUM OF $20 FOR AMAZON PRIME NOW!!...important little thing I didn't know but you get a $10 coupon
for your first order. My order total was $31 with a $5 tip but less $10 so I made a deal. I make the tip according to how heavy the bag is
and how much stuff I ordered. Usually 4 or 5 dollars. That is what it would cost me alone in gas to run around Henderson doing all that
shopping. I actually went out yesterday because I am desperate for new jeans and pj bottoms. I managed to get all I needed but I never could
find the shoes in my size I wanted and when I came home from a 5 hr shopping trip I ended up getting on Amazon and THERE THEY WERE...THE SHOES I WANTED IN MY SIZE...FML! le sigh...lesson learned. Just amazon first...then go out into the real world.

This is a "no check out grocery store" that is in Beta mode in Seattle. It is for Amazon employees only right now. BUT, it will most likely be rolling out into cities in the future. They use tracking and other software to see if you pick up an item, it goes on your list and you pay for that stuff you pick up. If you put it back, it goes off your list. So fucking amazing! I DESPISE check out lines. Expecially when some senior ahead of me has to yak all about their damn kids and grandkids to the checker for an hour. I tell them to zip it and move along. I don't give a fuk.

I saw the youtube video of it and loved it. My friend think it'll make shoplifting interesting and also wanted to know what would happen if you didn't have enough in your account while you're inside. I told her it would probably send a text alert asking you if you'd like to top up or have top up stations inside or something. I think it's pretty cool but I often wonder what's going to happen to grocery store workers. It seems the world is eliminating low end jobs with bots.

But, the bitch hermit in me is like yahhhh i just wanna grab my shit and get out or order in!

"Tis the season ".....where everywhere I go people are sick, and they're hacking their lungs out, or sneezing.:yuck:

I was trying to have a nice McDonald's break today, when both the person in front and next to me were sick
All I could hear with my lunch were the sounds of sniffling, coughing, sneezing, and wheezing.
I have a big move coming up in 2 weeks, and can NOT get sick!
Hermitting is the only way I'm going to escape these sick people around me everywhere I go.
Disgusting!!

I actually saw a store like this in japan several years ago. They are all over the place. The US is SOOOO slow when it comes to tech. I remember back in 2006 in japan paying with my cell phone app ...like google pay.. at the store. US didnt see that for almost 8 years later...ugh. But yes, checkout workers and retail service industry will be going robotic very very soon. I dont mind cuz I hate interacting with humans. I cant wait for the day I can order my robotic husband!!

I'm fucking loving the hermit life yo :) My roommates prob think i'm weird for never leaving the house except for a rare occasion but meh they are home a lot too so whatever. Does anyone else get social anxiety when they leave & have to go inside of a store? I usually do esp when I eat out so I just get the dam food to go & eat in the car away from ppl. I've noticed I've been doing that for like 3 yrs now & actually enjoy my food more than I would sitting inside the place. I usually wear huge sunglasses also if I make it out before dark (rare these days) lol to keep others from maybe recognizing me.

I used to have major anxiety. I'd drive myself to the mall and sat in my car shaking, I couldn't go in.

I think public anxiety comes from a place of uncertainty if you go into a store not knowing what to expect or if people are staring at you. It's the fear of the unknown. I got over that by building up my self confidence and expect to be looked at because I'm pretty. People are going to look at things that are attractive. Positive thoughts help big time.

Anxiety like that could also be from a condition called GAD..or General Anxiety Disorder. I have it. It usually is accompanied by some type of depression on any scale. It causes general anxiety and worry over many things...different types too. I take a low dose of paxil and it changed my world for the better. Now I can deal with it much better. Ask your doctor, they can help.

Whatever post I see of Yours, I like them! This is very cool what u put here.
" fear of the unknown " -- I had a period when I wondered on that and I think every - or the majority of people affected by that - somehow!
Like a part of human nature, or a "state of mind we have to face with, sometimes" - not sure how to say.
It s a lot of effort, and work and experience to Improve ourselves.
But, this is why we re here afterall, to learn, and evolve.

Yes, 'fear of the unknown' is mostly what's in our heads, we imagine the worst and that triggers anxiety. What I do is 'taking the monster out of the dark'. What that means is think of what's the worst thing that could happen when you're in public places and trust yourself enough to know that you have what it takes to handle whatever comes your way. It's really is about confidence.

Ive been basically a hermit since 2016. mine got so bad that the other day we were out for a drive and the curvy roads made my anxiety flare. never happened before. we got 20 min out side of town and i had to beg him to turn the car around. so embarassing. i can't afford therapy so im just gonna start taking benedryl everyday lol. i saw a therapist or whatever back in 2013 and he gave me benedryl and zoloft both which didn't do shit but make me so tired i couldn't function but i can see how it might help by putting yo ass to sleep lol.

id much rather be at home but i have to start forcing myself to get out of the house even for a few minutes at a time. it's taken a toll being cooped up on me. i used to be so social. SO SOCIAL. my bf's like what happened to the girl i met 3 years ago and im like i have no idea. if i knew i'd fix it *shrugs*

Be careful because it could be the beginning of agoraphobia. Make yourself go out a few times a week, even if its just for a walk around your neighborhood

I do this all the time. Ubereats, grubhub, doordash, grocery delivery service and amazon can be so addicting. I have to force myself to at least stick to a fitness routine or I'd never leave the house, lol.

To add currently being a happy little bitch hermit while traveling. I'm quite satisfied because at least I'm working a lot. This weekend I'll spend time with family and friends so I'll have to crawl out of my shell.

Reviving this thread, because....yeah.
I'm not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Am I becoming more and more of a hermit BECAUSE of camming?
Or is it inevitable because of ageing?
Anyone else?
I'm so confused.
I'm the girl who loved being out. Anywhere. Anytime. Was never, EVER home.
Now, you can't pry me away from my house.
And when I'm out, heaven forbid anyone tries to make small talk, or if there's a crowd.
I get so agitated that I feel like I'm going to snap.....snap somebody's head off.

I think it is both. I over think a lot. Yayyy. But that much over thinking brought me to the conclusion that the more that we know about humans, about this world, the more we want to be alone with ourselfs (we observe certains gestures, certain type of talking, we understand what people actually mean better). So basically we would rather not deal with all of that shit. And camming brings into our life the gift of knowing the bullshit people are up to (personality wise, what they think wise) and aging doest he same thing to any sort of person (after all the more we age the more information we gather - that is why when we were kids we did not care, we just lived the moment). I like to say: i had more faih in humanity when i was younger, now the older i get, the more i enjoy to be alone with myself. Oblivion is a bliss. Or what lots of people say: stupid people are the happyest LOL.

I have been a hermit for as far back as I can remember! Being out in huge crowds of people makes me very anxious. Certain times of the year my little town gets very busy, and I REFUSE to leave my house unless I absolutely have to.

When I try to have "normal" human interaction I just feel like an alien. Being detached from society makes you start to recognize everything that is wrong with it, and frankly, I just don't want any part of it.

I worked a vanilla job for years and years. I was in an extremely busy office that was outgrowing its little building, and the higher-ups were doing nothing to cushion this influx of phone calls and people. I sat in an area where I would see 100+ people a day, and the phones rang off the hook. I finally got to the point where I was going completely mad. On my lunch breaks I didn't even want to sit with my coworkers. I would find an empty room and hide in the dark with no noise. It was the only way I could keep my sanity! I made great money, and that kept me a slave to unhappiness for far too long.

Thankfully, camming is a thing and it has saved my life/sanity. I have to push myself to interact with people for longer than I would like, but it is worth the cash you can make doing so. It is not difficult at all to make far more than I did at my office job. Unfortunately, you can't cam forever so I have been finding ways to be set up for a VERY early retirement. True hermit for life! lol :)

For me I Can work weeks or months, then I need to get out I travel out the country typically for a conference. or with a travel group since I am in a premium travel club.

but I also know where my support groups are. so I am not just staying home and thinking oh I don't need to go out.

Just like playing sims you need to socialize . There is something about being in a room with human trying to have a conversation.

hopefully the picture attached saw it on my friends facebook feed. don't know much about them but they are trying to bring digital and support together.

I have been a hermit for as far back as I can remember! Being out in huge crowds of people makes me very anxious. Certain times of the year my little town gets very busy, and I REFUSE to leave my house unless I absolutely have to.

When I try to have "normal" human interaction I just feel like an alien. Being detached from society makes you start to recognize everything that is wrong with it, and frankly, I just want any part of it.

I worked a vanilla job for years and years. I was in an extremely busy office that was outgrowing it's little building, and the higher-ups were doing nothing to cushion this influx of phone calls and people.

True hermit for life! lol :)

I feel everything you wrote about.
I have a friend who's husband owns a car dealership. His key employee quit, and he's desperate to find someone to replace her. I was asked to take the job.
The salary, health benefits, and getting out of the house were all tempting ( particularly since summer slowdown always has me questioning camming).
I knew as soon as I got over there for the formalities of the interview, that I couldn't do it.
It's just not who I am anymore.
Thankfully we work in a time where telecommuting is possible.
I'm also seeing this camming gig coming to an end, and am actively seeking something to replace it.A work from home situation.

I'm boring, all I do is make money and come home or stay home and make money. That hermit life feels so good.

Grocery shopping on a Friday afternoon.
Not the wisest move, but it had to be done.
No line at the deli.
Until I got there.
As soon as I started to order, a woman comes over and stands RIGHT next to me.... shoulder to shoulder.:O
I move over, and so did she. I had to have my food handed to me over at another section.
Why didn't I say anything to her?
Because I would have choked her if I had. It's been a long week of this kind of crap. Plus, it's 120 degrees. Who wants some sweaty strangers breathing on them?
Interesting how this never happens when I'm out with any of my guy friends. Ever.

I used to never go out when I worked in adult industry because I was I a tough spot and had to do it locally

I was so scared of getting recognized that I cut off all my friends, avoided social groups, went shopping at early (nobody’s up yet) hours

Yes working in adult industry IF you are living a double life (especially doing both in the same city) will definitely make you fearful of being recognized while out.

It’s just more comforting and “safe” to be at home

I hate when people invade my personal space in line.

It’s like Americans who value 3ft or at least arms length personal space with stand all up on you in line

Then when you move up to get some space, their bitch ass moves even closer. It’s like “look heaux I’m moving up to get away from you, NOT so you can keep inching up closer to me”

Exactly.
I call them " Personal Space Invaders of the worst kind."
Old men are the main culprit.
There are mostly disgusting old men where I now live, so it's noticable.
Back off Grandpa!!:stop:

I like being home. I'm an INFP which means I'm an introvert; while I truly enjoy people I can only enjoy them for like an hour LOL. The only times I get out are to get groceries, deposit my check, and out once a week for social interaction (I force myself as I know it's good for my mental health.)

If I could stay home ALL the time and maybe get out once a week for an hour, I'd be living the good life. While I do not have bad anxiety being around people, I just choose not to. I can be in big crowds with no issues. I just like alone time. Plus my apartment is like a fucking spa environment. It's comforting to be at home.
