I closed my camster account and kept my imlive account open.

not even sure if I will go with niteflirt. Just webcam streamate, cams, imlive, flirt4free keep it simple and need ways to keep my stress low.

Hey Minnie, how's F4f going for you?

Hey Minnie, how's F4f going for you?

I just need to spend more time on the site, pretty happy with it overall.

With camster closing and flirt4free buying them out it's wait and see if there will be an increase of models on the site or not.

One time I went to log on and the site said too many models online and I don't convert enough sales to log on at this time. Try again Later.

Yeah that's why I left it, because of that issue, ugh... I wonder if I can squeeze a $500 a month from it. I guess I'm gonna try and see...

I think $500 a month is doable with them.

I am just sticking with streamate, cams, imlive and flirt4free.

Then boost my youtube channel and affiliate marketing and maybe even start a financial coaching side business.

There aren't many sites around these days that payout on time so now it's basically

before the recession I was working on 16 cam sites at the same time I watched a lot of them go bankrupt.. I don't know how I did it.. and they were all very chatty back then.

How many of you have online stores...non-adult? Are you using platforms like Etsy, BigCartel, eBay etc.

Do you promote your store or is it enough to have items listed on the platform? What made you use eBay vs Etsy or other?

I used to run an eBay store (for almost 10 years) and packed it in when there just was no more money in it (in my chosen merchandise genre). Work and stress was going up, profits going down. I still sell my used (non-adult) stuff on there, but it can take a few re-lists before they sell. I'm toying with an Etsy/Folksy store, but need to make some money to buy/hire the stuff I need to start up.

I do, I used to use BigCartel but find Shopify MUCH better - lots more features, apps, etc

my traffic comes mainly from social media - the product uses the name and branding of a big online company (I'm trying not to get too specific sorry) (with their permission ofc) so I get to use their large social medias

mailing lists are great to

I've had it since before etsy was big and the product i sell isn't really etsy material. Make a couple hundred bucks per month off it easily if i'm posting an item or two. I rely on their traffic, not any that I bring myself. Never had to advertise, so i just haven't. if it were my bread and butter, I'd certainly push it more!

I'd LOVE to have an etsy store but I just don't really make anything that could be sold there. I've thought about taking an art class or two, live streaming the painting process, & selling on there but I just haven't got around to doing so.

Look up wholesale ted and zach inman on youtube. there's a lot of money to be made in dropshipping/e-commerce still and it's a great option for cam models bc it's very low risk and we are already used to be online constantly and customer service lol.

In my research I came across this artist who talks about Etsy vs website. She almost answered most of my questions. The most puzzling part for me so far is how often people ask if I have an Etsy store after directing them to my website. It's a little annoying because it's not like the quality increases with a Etsy listing, it's the same thing folks! I'm trying to determine if the "Got an Etsy?" question is just them blowing me off or is it because a platform makes me more trustworthy? It could be both I guess. She talks about that in this video.

https://youtu.be/35sJk_hRAKI

I'm just gonna sign up next week and get it going. I'm gonna see if there's a way to create a traffic loop. I think I just made that up. I did notice that Google loves Pinterest and Pinterest loves loves loves Etsy. I was looking at wall paper in Google images and almost every one was a Pinterest pin leading to an online store.

I didn't realize until this morning that BigCartel and Shopify aren't Marketplaces. They're more like a personal website with plugins. I can see the value in using something like that.

This may vary depending on where you're located but I suspect Uber Eats and Door Dash are seeing an increase all over. I have three relatives who've been out delivering food over the weekend and they're racking up. Door Dash seems to have been the preferred app this week. DD automatically suggest 20% tips and above. Most people just go along with that and keep clock bg through. UberEats will suggest $2 no matter what.

Also from what my family is saying you can determine which area leans towards a specific app the most if you track your trips. And then research what's available on the food apps by zipcode. DD seems to put restaurants that don't have contracts on the list which provides more options.

I'm just putting this out there for those with some time to kill.

Yes, Instacart is another option. But that will definitely depend on your location and how badly the stores have been raided. The ones closest to me are fine. Especially the Spanish and Caribbean grocers. Down here Publix is iffy. My brother said driving for Instacart took up too much of his time the other night. He had to constantly text the customers back and forth because items were sold out. He even got complaints and deduced tips because of it. People who've never worked in the service industry don't seem to realize how hard it is. He decided to turn that app off and work all the others instead.

Ohhhh makes sense.

I figured people trying to avoid crowded restaurants and crowded stores would turn to delivery. Groceries can be dropped off at door step not ever having to come face to face with anyone.

Plus groceries are sealed and I’m not sure if Uber eats/DD ever made merchants seal the food. Germaphobe type people avoid restaurant delivery for this reason.

But yeah

The apps should notify customers it will take longer and there is reduced stock. I suppose the apps arent as up to date with inventory if it’s allowing them to order oos items in the first place

But on the money making side I could see how taking longer and impatient customers with out of this world expectations would reduce profitability

Still gotta be efficient with spending time

I have and it's okay but it doesn't have very many tools for tracking sales. A few times I used it during high volume days and fee percentage was difficult to understand because it's on a sliding scale. I noticed that some transactions for the exact same amount had different fee percentages deducted. So it's a secondary option now. Here's the fee scale:

Wasn't sure whether to start a new thread on this..I could see one but it hasn't been posted in since 2012, so sticking this here instead.

What are your thoughts on having *too* many eggs? I have a couple of cam sites which a run through an app and through Facetime which I don't promote as the rate is lower than I'd like, and I am starting to wonder if it's worth keeping them going. I silently resent shows on there when I'm crazy busy..but sometimes when it's a bit slower it is good to pick up the odd show on there.

I am, without fail available across 5 sites every time I cam (7 with these two extra eggs) as well as hustling indie Skype shows. I just just wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar? Lately I've just been turning them on when I am below goal and it's a little slower, but I am not sure this is the right approach.

Maybe try using the slower sites at specific times of the day? This way you aren't being taken away from sites that bring you more money. On the Indy sites are you able to list a schedule?

I do think it's possible to be on too many sites and I find it's best to narrow things down to options that serve me the most.

Arwen25
05-10-2020, 12:45 PM
You can’t list a schedule but that’s a good idea! I might try that and look at my earnings and see if it works out better working them at certain times or whether it’s best to do away with them completely.

I did that for years but then decided only to stick with my highest earning sites. No point taking a show for £1 per min (yes i know what company you mean ;) that involves faffing around, adding people, waiting for them, rearranging after they are a no show etc , if it's going to interfere with the possibility of a much higher income show on one of your steady sites. On those you know you will make roughly x amount if you just stick on and wait, and often a LOT more. Meanwhile yes you could get lots of bookings on the apps but they're all low earners and high effort. It works out much better to have a couple of steady sites, a back up, and then focus on building indie rather than spreading yourself thin on low reward sites.

Arwen25
05-11-2020, 07:49 AM
Lol, you got it in one Susie - that's exactly my issue! I like the people who run the site in question but yeah £1 per minute hurts my SOUL. I think I am going to quit that particular site, it's just too much effort for little reward. And like you say, if I have the ability to work the hours (and I do) it makes more sense to just wait it out a bit longer for way, way higher reward! I'll run the other one as I can reject calls as I like but the rate is slightly higher but am going to do away with the former I think. x

If I was slammed I might not login to a very low rate site but unfortunately I don't seem to be having that problem lol. As it is I need that random $3...fiver there etc. What I am thinking of doing is deleting my accounts when I finally make it to payout on a few sites that are extremely slow & won't connect to Boleyn models. It's ridiculous to have to login regularly & upload content for a site that it could take a year to make a measly $50 or $100 payout.

I was trying to work 4-5 sites at once up until around 3 months ago, then I lowered it down to two.

I'm consistently making more money now than I used to and I do think it's partially because I'm not constantly being distracted from decent potential customers in free chat on my main site to give energy to the token site I was working (which was way too much effort for peanuts) and I'm not logging off and back on over and over to accept small money with 10sec-2min calls on my other site.

I find it less stressful aswell! It was draining me before. I completely scrapped the token site, got rid altogether. I've kept the 3rd site for back up if it ever goes really quiet.

Arwen25

Copy, paste SAVE. Thank you, ladies :D It's definitely a case of planning for quiet times, while also not wanting to undersell yourself. Good point also about logging off well-paid sites too frequently and missing out on better paying customers. I have decided to get rid of the Facetime site and run the other in the background because it doesn't take up time. I only take calls on that one from guys who I like, tip and spend more. x

Just wanted to update. I haven't cammed since March because it literally (financially, emotionally and mentally) hasn't been worth it for me to log on. I decided to file for unemployment and pua because I knew that I didn't want to and wasn't going to get back on cam. I got back pay of around $5000 and I got my stimulus ($1200) as well so I'm at $5000+ now. I'm so happy. PUA said pending claim for the longest time and DOL said something about "you have not been authorized to file". For a while I seriously thought that I wasn't going to get anything.

Things have been rough for me for the last 6 years. I am grateful for this money and won't be wasting it. I do not want to come out this pandemic still struggling and being unhappy. I'm going to use it wisely by investing some of it into a new career as well as a side business. I've been wanting a new beginning for the longest time, now I can finally achieve that. I can't wait to start making some changes in my life.

May I ask what you are doing? I am pleased to know that I am not the only one following this path and I hope your psychological self is healing as best as can be.

I'm not sure where you are located, but I've seen lots of jobs in the US ready to hire because so many people want to work from home since COVID. Companies have even started to raise what they pay hourly since they are desperately needing people in the store / building. You can search online with your town or city followed by 'jobs', or drive around and look for Help Wanted signs. I've seen a bunch when I go out to the stores.

ALSO wanted to add, you can consider more contractor jobs if you want flexibility in times that you work such as Uber, food delivery, dog walking, etc. There's all kinds of opportunities :)

I would update your resume and reach out to temp agencies for virtual job openings. You said EASY and almost all of the admin type remote jobs are anything but easy. They want so much for so little hourly.

More than anything, I would focus on how to make camming work for you. You said it's been so slow for you but I am wondering how many revenue streams you are doing now with your camming persona.

This thread needs a resurgence for the new year! My goal this year is to add more eggs to my basket. I’ve focused all my energy on my one site for years now and it’s past time for me to broaden my horizons. I’ve had a rough winter with a lot going on and had to take off way more time from camming then I would have liked BUT it’s the motivation I needed to look into more passive income. I have about 100 videos and I’m always making more every week. I finally started posting them on ManyVids and I’m happy to say they are already selling! Not sure if I’ll stream with them at all but for now I’m focusing on just setting up the store side. I have been looking into other cam sites that I could split SM with. I’m hoping to fill those sometimes dreadful quiet stretches to save me from just giving up. I’m also interested in looking into sexting. Again something to do when I’m doing nothing on SM.

Anyone else wanna share or brainstorm ideas with me? Are you switching up your hustle or adding any eggs?

Also, this is the year I’m finally going to figure out how the taxes deferred/exempt IRA (I think that’s what it is?) works. I’m not totally sure. But I know there’s a way to save up to a certain amount of self employment income in an IRA (or other retirement saving) and have taxes either deferred or exempt. Bc saving my hard earned money is just as good as making money!

This makes me think of the men who tell me they watch Toutube VS hauls and JO. Seriously, if women can, start making money off your hauls, makeup....ask for money from fans.

I resell online. I just resell interesting things. I make a decent chunk doing this. It has very slow times so I also have a regular job a couple days a week and then my PSO stuff.

I want to find a good text site. I like my pso sites buuuttt I do not trust people in the sex industry. Companies, customers, you all know it can be cut throat. I mean am I REALLY my own boss? At my vanilla job I am. At my pso jobs I am STILL at the mercy of customers and companies.

I tried that, desperate company, raised wages to attract people. They raised wages, intentionally understaffed so they really were NOT paying more on their end, and about killed us with work and so much OT people were falling asleep at work and had accidents.
