Aye, I have no scale at home. I will have to buy one. To keep an eye on myself. My aunt used to tell me not to wear sweatpants at home, cause those let us go. If we always wear jeans, those warn us when we start to get bigger. Hmmm. There is something in it, but it's such a crazy idea to always wear jeans lol.

I am glad I keep seeing it get bumped to the first page. The embarrassing truth is I keep FORGETTING I am supposed to be focusing on myself until I see it and think, "Oh shit! How the fuck did I forget again when I started the damn thing?"

Got a decent amount of sleep last night. Still not enough but more than I've been getting. I'm up now putting on makeup and setting up to get on cam. My selfish me thing for tonight will be watching the first game of the World Series... yep, I like Baseball.

Thursday, October 17th was the night before my son came home for good (since May he's been in this amazing residential program for kids who need to get their act together and work on coping skills, etc., and they'd go home for weekend stays), so that Thursday night I went to check out some karaoke spots in the city. This one girl had an awesome voice, and when I picked Alicia Keys "If I Ain't Got You" for my last song, she asked if she could sing the background vocals. I told her "Yeah!" :)
I'm used to being a nightowl, but recently I changed my cam times so that I'm actually getting to bed by 12:30 AM and getting up at 7:30 AM.
I stopped drinking orange Fanta/root beer/Mountain Dew and stopped eating McDonald's/Wendy's food (I'll still get Chick-Fil-A food sometimes cuz I love their food, and their food doesn't make me feel gross afterwards), and now I drink Ocean Spray apple juice or Minute Maid apple juice. I'll continue drinking tea or lemonade also...just no more of those sodas I'd always get.

I have been failing horribly. Last night I was awoken by text at two AM and on the phone for THREE hours with my formerly-suicidal guy friend who is going through a divorce (and knows I have been through the same). I do care about him and feel obligated to help because I saved his life once by calling him right when he was going to do himself in. :-( It just pains me what he's going through. I ended up falling asleep on him and he hung up LOL but I know he understood. Like I said, THREE HOURS!
Having said that, I napped and I made myself go for a walk and get a meal at Subway. Human interaction+veggie sub+exercise. Still been good with my supplements but not with the yoga. :-(
JAC, maybe we could renew this thread? I think its a common camgirl prob. where we obsess about camming/camming outfits/makeup/photo sets/vid clips/other camgirls but DON'T take care of #1 enough!

I think that is a fantastic idea! This thread officially ends on Saturday. I like it being only 14 days long because it really holds me accountable that way. I am all, "Oh shit! Where did that 14 days go?" I also like it because we will be able to take stock of our strengths and weaknesses. What were we strong on and what do we need to work on?
Today has pretty much been a total wash with me when it comes to self-care. It just keeps getting shoved down my priority list. Truth be told, I am really embarrassed at how horribly I did! I am used to excelling at almost everything I do. It comes as a shock to see how much I suck at self-care.

I'm just going to post in this thread on the days I manage to take care of myself AND work, because I've failed at that. I've been paying too much attention to needing money and not paying attention to the actual working part of it.
Today, I went to the gym for 30 minutes and did cardio. And that's a pretty big deal for me. And even though it's past primetime and I'm tired, since I need to stay awake for another 4-6 hours anyway, I'm going to log in now.
I love this thread.

I would say I failed miserably at taking care of me today and I am an emotional wreck. Hooray for relationship issues! Gonna try harder tomorrow. I did manage to cam for several hours but I haven't done anything for me.

Yesterday, I didn't end up working. But I spent practically all day with my friend who miscarried her baby. It was a very hard and emotional day for everyone in our friend circle. Tonight I begin working for the week.

Last night I cammed really late and then I kind of woke up early. Had to go shopping for my sons bday. Anyway I didn't get much sleep and I felt so grumpy. Usually I try to start work at 7pm.....but instead of doing that I decided to sleep.....I eneded up starting work 4 hours later but at least I felt more energized. Just wish there was more hours in a day. Anyways I feel like I did something positive because instead of getting on cam and feeling miserable....I decided to get some much needed sleep instead

definately need something like this right now! my best replenishing tool that is unmatched at #1 is meditation without a doubt. mindfulness meditation (vipassana), to be precise. 30 mins of that in one sitting and i feel like i've never experienced an anxious thought in my life, i feel like a blissful nourished baby... yes thats cheesy as fuck but it's true. so for the next 14 days i will meditate for 30 mins a day and 10 mins before and after camming to keep my energy intact :)

I second the mindfulness meditation, i have a CD that came with my Mindfulness for dummies book. It's got some amazing little 5 minute meditations and a 30-minute guided body scan meditation. I like to put it on with headphones, shut my door, light some nice candles and forget about the world :-)
Most towns have yoga and meditation classes these days too. I go to pilates for 1 hour one evening a week. It's good because when you've paid in advance etc you can't just really be like 'meh i can't be bothered' :D

I'm on this train. Today, I spent the majority of my day in bed because of a bad headache and sore throat. I suppose I could have put on my tough girl boxers and gone on cam but, I didn't and I feel good. Now, I know I will be 100% tomorrow for my guys rather than 50/50 today and tomorrow.

for me it's I quit school . I really took the time the think about how it will take me away from my new business. I've found November 2014 that can last me a long while and retire.
I need to work more camming so that I can have the start-up money for my new business and spoil myself for my birthday hopefully new years eve.

I usually get an hour massage, and sometimes a 30 minute foot massage as well, once a week, every week. It is my "me time" and I like to use that time to meditate. I also meditate once or twice a day, daily. I count getting facials, nails, hair done as pampering bc I enjoy them. I also keep things in my amazon wish list and when I have enough extra money and I have been responsible, I will spoil myself with something I've really wanted for a long time, or I book a vacation. This one sounds odd, but sometimes I reward myself by starting a new project that will benefit me in the future. Then there's always a day at the beach or going to a really nice restaurant :)

Also I wanted to add, sometimes it doesn't hurt to instead of doing something for yourself directly, do something nice for someone else that makes them feel great or helps them. That in turn makes me feel amazing knowing I helped someone. It makes positive connections, makes me feel good, and I help someone. It's a win-win situation.

Still loving this thread, glad it's been revived.
These days I count as self-care:
Lighting a candle for on-cam time, getting home from anywhere or just being in the mood for a wonderful scented candle. I love candles (have a weakness for expensive and pure beeswax candles)
Spending 30 minutes in bed gently waking up without rushing when it's time, stretching in basic yogic positions gently and where my body wants it.
Eating lots of healthy fats and taking my SuperNutrition supplements (love these, have also grown to like seeing expensive vitamin B pee, it's neon)
Exercising every week since I read it's good for energy, clarity and focus in mental states, reversing depression and improving sleep (I'm sleeping like a baby)
Still practicing mindfulness if only for a few moments everyday
Going out to workshops and evening classes in things I find interesting (learning new skills e.g. cooking, making things, limited time with people in short & sweet socialising time)
Avoiding fixating on any and all issues that are pointless (e.g. Netflix, soothing shower)
Making 'me' money every week, that is, a small ANYTHING towards something purely indulgent.
Life is better since I consciously decided everyday to make it as pleasant as possible. I'm going to be alive anyway, why not do what I can when I can to make it as welcoming as it can be?

I want to reverse my sleep patterns. Instead of going to bed around 2-4 am, I want to go to sleep at midnight, and get up at 8 a.m.
Now that the temps have cooled down, I want to start taking walks everyday.
Have more downtime..actually use my Netflix membership.
Masturbate more...it is great for my skin, and puts me in a reaxed mood.
