Anyone else get an email wanting to interview them for a book?
Aye aye aye. I've considered writing a book but not just a bunch of interviews of dancers. You have to put some more substance into it besides just parading us around on the "strippers are people too!" tack.
Edit: this is what I sent him:
I'm going to refrain from tearing you a new one... but just FYI you will probably not be met kindly on this board, being a male poster and trying to profit off of us by writing a book. We get several people a month on here, wanting to interview us for their sociology projects or their biographical film festival entries or their books, and they always get ridiculed and run off. This is not a new idea. It's not original and the shock value of it has worn off for society, as there's already a glut of books that are just this, interviews with strippers asking asinine questions and trying to paint them as "people like you" and "show what the industry is really like". I think I speak for all of us when I say that nobody is qualified to write any books on strippers unless they have BEEN a stripper.

^ Ehhhhh that's different. His was just a typical "Why did you start dancing? What's the most $$ you ever made? Do you have another job? What's your worst customer?" No thought whatsoever. It also really pissed me off that it was a guy trying to make a buck off us.

I know they're losers....Like go have your own life experience and write about that. Is your life that boring? it's annoying when people study us like zoo animals on here.
My petty annoyance: chatting with a guy who owns some restaurant in chicago. Cute, seems really sweet. He asked what I do and I told him I'm a dancer. He immediately starts asking for "work outfit pics." ugh...blocked!

Nothing I do looks good. :( I want to curl up and die. If I am alone, at least what I do should be good. No. Often it seems like I have nothing valuable about me.
Ugh I'm annoyed. Me, my ex, and his friend drove all the way from Detroit to Flint because my ex had a "sale" if you know what I mean, I don't get involved whatsoever but I drove along and what happens when we get there? It was a complete set up and instead of seeing the white guy he was supposed to meet (who clearly set him up), a black guy comes to our car out of nowhere and cocks his gun, you could tell it was loaded because when he racked it a shell came out.
He pointed his stupid pistol and demanded we all give him everything. Fuck that. My ex dumped out all the singles in his hand and said that's all we had... And that's all the stupid little bitch-made amateur wannabe gangster got. I had $600 on me, Gucci sunglasses, Michael Kors bag, and he got nothing. He also didn't get the "product" that my ex was set up to get stolen from him. I was scared though, I don't fuck around when boys are playing with guns. I was so happy we got the fuck away with all our shit and with our LIVES and thw gunman failed at his job lol and got a whopping ten bucks. How do you rob three people at gunpoint and only get 10 bucks?
I was stupid for coming along!
Yeah that guy was an idiot even just for trying to rob but good that you kept your stuff. Glad you're safe *hug*

I get annoyed by day job clients who say things like " we are ready to book soon " ..... yet when we invoice them for the deposit and then even OFFER A DEAL 2 days later when it's unpaid .... still don't MOVE FORWARD.
I'll shake it off of course because it's how sales goes .
Bless the awesome ones who BOOK FAST. I love love love love them. Universe ... send me more of them! :)

You actually got lucky that he did not do anything stupid out of rage. Some junkie might get mad if he did not get what he wanted. It also sounds like your ex is into some risky business, so risky that i would not tag along. Glad that you all are okay.

I got pull over by a cop on my way back from range today. I know I wasn't spending. He wanted to search the car and I told him that "I do not consent to a search." He went back to his car and stayed there for a good 10 mins and came back to tell me that i was free to go. From the beginning to the end he did not give me any reason why I got stopped.

It really bothers me that for my entire life everyone makes fun of the fact that I eat slow.
So much so, that I've decided not to go out to eat with anyone anymore.
Meanwhile, I'm the ONLY one I know that doesn't have digestive, or stomach problems, and isnt on a 'restrictive' diet.
Too bad, because it would be nice to have a meal with someone sometime, ya know?:'(

My landlady has been making the grossest food. It used to be good now it's nasty; she makes enchiladas and brings them over all the time and they have some weird aftertaste that makes them inedible. Then today she brought me a strawberry shortcake she made and again it had some nasty aftertaste that I swear tasted like puke so I threw it out. Wtf goes on in her kitchen.

^^It's pretty bad. I don't even know what the aftertaste could have been on the shortcake because she bought the angel food cake, added her own whipped cream and strawberries. What could have gone wrong?? All I can think of is that she made the whipped cream herself and the cream she used for it was bad.
I don't want to eat her cooking anyway because not that long ago I was in her kitchen and there was a huge trail of ants going up her wall to her rack of utensils, which I get because there's ant issues here and until I installed traps I would experience ant rivers too....BUT for them to be swarming her utensil rack it must mean she didn't wash her utensils great and left food particles on them. Normally ants swarm your trash or a morsel of food that got dropped or something. Plus her and her husband had been in that kitchen all day and hadn't noticed it when I noticed it right away. So their kitchen is not the most hygienic place in the world and I say that as someone who is nowhere near a germaphobe. Like if *I'm* grossed out by someone's hygiene it's bad lol.
My other annoyance is Urban Outfitters; there was this shirt I really wanted that came in black but when I went to order it the black was gone and the other 2 colors were for pre-order. I asked a person on their live chat if the black would be coming back and they said "The black will not be restocked." So I went with gray. What do I see on their site like the day after my gray top arrives?? The black is back. :bomb: I want to complain but I don't think they'll do anything except tell me I can make an exchange. I doubt they're like Amazon where they'll refund you whatever you want or give you free stuff.

I'm going to punch this particular cut throat cunt from work in the face. I don't give a fuck. This girl ALWAYS approaches customers I'm sitting with. First, I need to warn my manager. He likes me. He knows I'm not trouble at work. I'm quiet and stick to myself and no one has ever complained about me, but he knows I don't play that shit. I don't give a fuck.
The other day she pushed me out of the way at the end of the shift. I let that shit slide. I was too tired and on my way home.

Traffic. Fucking traffic! I spent 73 minutes on the road and only got 4 miles from home. I could have walked that distance faster. I never made it into my office this morning, I turned around and returned home because I had work that needed to get done this morning.
I'm sure I'm going to catch shit from everyone in the office the next time I'm there for skipping the sales meetings. Of course, I'm the only one who lives on the east side of town and works at the west side office. If the sales meetings were at 7am or after 11am, it would be a lot easier.
If you are considering moving to Portland, consider our traffic situation. We are growing so fast that our roads are well above capacity. Rush hour never really ends during daylight hours. Please feel free to move here, but leave your car behind because it isn't going to do you much good.

One of the bartenders I work with keeps cutting me off by like midnight, when most of the girls there are wayyy more drunk than I am. This has happened twice in a row now, and she gives me no warning or reason. I'll just order a drink when a customer asks to buy me one and she rudely says, "no you're cut off." Then the customers are confused as to why I'm cut off because I seem fine while other girls are sloppy drunk. The manager didn't even know she cut me off but I didn't complain about it. Instead, I just smiled at her and ordered water after water. She hurt her own earnings. Whatever.
And the weird thing is at the beginning of my shift I asked her for water and an order of chips and salsa and she said no because her and other bartender are switching drawers so she can't ring anything in... Ok..
But I asked for a WATER which is free and doesn't need to be rang in! Meanwhile I see her go down to other end of the bar, take drink orders, and make drinks. Wtf. She didn't come back to ask what my extensively difficult order of water and chips and salsa until I sat patiently for like 10mins watching her make other people's drinks. I am just getting the feeling that she doesn't like me, which is ridiculous because I've never been rude to her and if I ever order a shift drink or meal I tip her like 50%...

I loaned a significant amount of money to some friends a few months ago. It started out as an already pretty-hefty loan that they said they'd pay back with their tax return, and 3 weeks later more than doubled in size with them saying they would start paying me back in small chunks monthly. In general, I understand the principle of not loaning out money that you couldn't just afford to lose (and it's not as though I need it all right now or I'll be homeless or anything), and I also know enough about their general financial insecurity to know why they got to the point of needing to borrow so much in the first place and wasn't expecting a quick return or anything...
But every time I hang out with her, she talks about all this other crap she's spending money on - nonessential things, and then blames other unexpected things for why they aren't paying me back yet.
I understand that even when you're in debt, it's unrealistic to just live the life of a monk who never spends a single dollar on needless things and just hermits up without having any sort of fun for months on end. But really? I don't even believe, at this point, that they'll be able to use their tax return to pay me back. I'm sure it'll all have to go to paying off some other thing they'll fall behind on in the next few months.
They're not bad people, and I really am happy to help them out. But I'm a little pissed that they upped the loan so substantially after my initial offer to help them out a bit, and now they're not even trying to make paying me back anything a priority.

Wanker customer at the straight job who asked a goofy question -- nothing I even found funny so I wasn't laughing at him or anything, just kinda thoughtless … he tried to overcompensate at my expense & when I didn't give him the satisfaction, he got nasty. All on abt how I needed to have a better sense of humour abt my job bc he Just Knew I was driving away business.
Bitch, ask any of my coworkers how well I can joke around w/ cool customers, & how I deal w/ customers that just want to be childish abt shit that won't even matter to them after their nxt cocktail :bomb:
I told him off & it felt good … but sm times I am so 'no bullshit' that I am just oblivious, so I didn't even fully realise what his problem was until after he left. It seriously didn't occur to me til then, that he had been trying to be a dick since he walked in. I just gave direct, honest answers that weren't what he wanted to hear.
Him, & the customer that was pleasantly chatty while I rang up his stuff … until he got on this 'Nothing bad EVER happens on mj' tangent & Wouldn't. Let it. Go. Even after I expressed my discomfort w/ the subj -- let's agree to respectfully disagree & leave it at that -- had to flat-out tell him to leave bc he was so adamant abt trying to win me over to his PoV. Seriously, how fkng hard is it to drop a damn subj & let every1 go home w/o a bad taste in their mouth :banghead:

I hate law students. Why do they have to ask everyone what answer they put down for every single question after every exam? It's so unnecessary and adds way more stress than need be. Maybe it's because I didn't really talk to anyone in undergrad but it seems much worse in law school. And then they start arguing about who answered wrong and how their answer is the right one... Ugh.

I just moved to a new city and didn't have as much saved as I hoped because things were excruciatingly slow in my old city, so I relied on my credit card pretty heavily. My bill was due and I went to put the cash in my bank one week before the due date. My bank doesn't have any branches in my new city so I had to use a partner atm, not knowing that it would take 5 BUSINESS DAYS to be available to spend. So I even though I was a week in advance, the money will be a day late hitting my account, meaning I have to pay 22% interest rate. So basically its gonna cost me like $150. I'm so fucking annoyed. I also got pulled over for not having my car registered, and given a warning, went to register it today, but the DMV website said it would be way cheaper than it was. So I had to walk out of the office without my registration after spending an hour in there because i didn't have enough money, risking getting pulled over again. Meanwhile I have a pretty penny in my bank account just "unavailable for withdraw". SO FUCKING ANNOYING. I need to build up my savings so this shit doesn't happen again.

Why are banks such dicks? I made regular payments through my in-school deferment and two banks both lowered the monthly payment amount after and also pushed back the final pay off date, which I knew they would do because as previously mentioned banks and dicks and by pushing back the length of the loan they keep the amount of interest paid the same. So I called and one bank changed it back without giving me a hard time like I expected and the other one refuses to. I told the guy I would just pay off the loan amount in full then if they wouldn't change the length of the loan back. Which I really do want to do but it would be a lot all at once (4k). I'm so pissed.

Just had to fix a doorknob, a toilet, send my snake to stay with fiancé's friend, hide all of his (perfectly legal, yay medical cards) paraphernalia, and spend an hour and a half cleaning the entire apt because I put in 60 days notice last week, and the office said they have to come up and "make sure there's no holes in the walls, see how long it'll take to get it rental ready again".
Wtf. Never heard of such a thing. What if I put a hole in the wall the day before I leave?! That's the dumbest policy I've ever heard.
Edit: they were supposed to be here between 1 and 2. It's 1:56. They're gonna have to reschedule cause I got places to be and a "do not enter" order on file.

The bartender I work with who keeps cutting me off when I'm not nearly as drunk as half the girls there, is really lame. Last time she cut me off was last Monday, and when she rudely and out-of-the-blue told me I was cut off I made it a point NOT to let her get a rise out of me so I politely ordered a bunch of water for the rest of the night with a smile on my face.
But the story that the GM heard (who was not there that night) is that I got hostile and rude towards her after she cut me off! Wtf, I was the opposite of that! Then one of the waitresses told me that bartender is a snitch and not to even order drinks from her, which I didn't for the rest of the night. But not only is she a snitch, she's a lying snitch. Why would she lie to the GM about me? Obviously to try to get me fired / in trouble. Maybe that's why she kept cutting me off, to try to get a rise out of me so I could get in trouble.
I'm just going to avoid her and flip my hair. Hater.

THAT'S the movie I was thinking of! I knew I'd seen that scene, but I couldn't recall the movie or the actors.

It's National Coming Out day and some distant cousin on my facebook posted a "joke" coming out status. Really? We're still at the point where pretending to be gay is considered funny? It's funny to mock how brave actual gay/bi/queer people are being when they come out?

My friend said she doesn't "feel obese," even though she is well within the threshold. The degree of delusion that followed this statement was really maddening. I don't like going to her house for long periods of time because she only wants to go get fast food, then she complains about not losing weight literally between orders.

Definitely a petty annoyance but my top lip and only the top lip has been so dry for MONTHS! Ill put a bunch of vaseline on my lips and they soak it up within minutes and are back to being dry again. I know I should be drinking more water but I tend to forget. But wtf having a super dry lip is getting so irritating! And not to mention it is not attractive. It's hard to do my lips for work when they're so dry. Blah.

I can relate. My bottom lip has been dry and peeling for several months. Nothing I put on them helps.
I drink tons of water, so not sure what's going on.

Try the Vitamin E stick, they sell 'em @ Ulta (look by the inexpensive skin care) & health stores. Like $3.99 ea, in a white tube, clear top, yellow product. Has spf also.
I used it on my lips, undereye, & cuticles.
It's by Reviva Labs. http://www.revivalabs.com

Maybe it has to do with the weather? It's been unusually hot for the past few months & dry too.
& thanks whirlerz I'll give that a try.
