Figured I would post in this thread because I didn't want to start a new one but could use some good thoughts- I've gotten to the point of taking the Lionbridge test this week and really hoping I pass! Fingers crossed! I hear its intense so I'm a bit nervous!

Legitimate work at home jobs, some that pay weekly include TextBroker, Iwriter, ContentAuthority and Academia Research. These are upfront writing gigs. The first 3 pay weekly via paypal and I have never received a late payment from any of them. Academia Research pays extremely well, but once a month I think. However, I do not like writing college term papers for someone else's benefit. TextBroker has steady work but the amount of cash depends on your writing level, how quickly you type, etc. I can make pretty good money on there. They pay every Friday like clockwork. iWriter is great when they have the orders cause the pay is really well, but sometimes clients ask for too much I think. They pay every Tuesday. ContentAuthority is hit or miss. Sometimes they have good orders and sometimes they don't. If you apply this week, you can probably get started and get paid next week. Hope this helps you.

Just bought an expensive cam, did my makeup super nice, smiled nice and was friendly, stayed on two diff cam sites for an hour each (since I was getting nowhere) and made 0$. Sometimes I think selling drugs would be easier lmao. (Im a student btw)

One hour isn't enough time especially if you are new.

Focus on 1 site and stay for a few hours if you want to see $$$$

Yes! I took the test for Lionbridge and passed. You get to study and have a few attempts to pass. They pay $14 an hour for that job.
Lionbridge also has a "click" portion where you just rate the site you are looking at. That is a very easy job! You can easily make more than $200 weekly just clicking, you just have to put in the hours (work when you want and hours you want) and click away. If you are wrong you do not get paid for that click. They give you many offers with the click job. I always clicked away at .20 a click. It's sooo easy it's not funny. But redundant and many hours on and off of clicking.

With them paying you $14 per hour it's so much more thinking work, my brain hurts. Feels like school all over again.... to me.

Do you remember the specific name of this clicking job?

Hi ladies, indeed a good thread, thanks for posting Snowy. I haven't been around much lately, cuz well, I haven't been around much. But I popped in to SW and saw this thread and had to post. Firstly, I can say that I have felt the same way for awhile too, that camming is just not working anymore (after 6 years of camming on and off). My situation is a little different because it's not that I tried everything I could to change it, it's that I stopped trying at all. I think it has come time for me to realize I'm just not into it anymore. The freeloaders and beggars are terrible and I just can't handle it. It never used to be like this, and I feel it's so disrespectful, it has really done a number on my mental health trying to continue. So basically, what I'm saying is, you can do it, figure it out, because you still care and are still trying! That's the biggest hurdle right there! Also I think alot of people reading this thread might be asking themselves the same question, so in the end it's best to just be honest with yourself. As of the new year I won't be camming anymore. I'm going to keep it as a backup plan probably, because it's been a part if my life for so long, but I doubt I will do it for a long time if at all. I have so much awe for those of you who can work that hustle but eh, I'm old and tired. Haha.

BUT...I this isn't a rant about me quitting camming. I wanted to let the girls reading this know that I can personally vouch for some of these sites listed. I had been looking into (other) at home jobs for awhile, working out of the home is just not an option for me. I have mental health issues, including agoraphobia which makes it damn near impossible to keep a job outside the home and I never thought there were any good options for me (other than camming) and I actually just before this thread accepted a job through Alpine Access doing a great tech support job, which luckily I have a bit of a background in, but there are lots of job opportunities there for many different backgrounds. I also did the test for Lionbridge, and like some other girls said, it is a bit arduous but if you have a bit of a technical mind about you I think most people can do it. They don't pay what I would call "outstanding" either of them, but it's good, and GUARANTEED, which is what I was looking for.

So in the new year I will be starting the new job and quitting camming. Butt in the meantime I have also been putting some effort into making clips. It's something I had never been interested in before and it turned out that even though I thought I wouldn't, I really enjoy doing it! And even on the small scale I've been doing it, it has already been profitable for me, so I'm going to continue with that as well. I do enjoy working in thee sex industry alot and i don't think I could ever completely leave it behind. I think for the last year or so, I felt that if I quit camming after so long I would be a failure. But I'm not. I'm just redirecting my energy into something that is more secure and enjoyable for me.

I hope maybe I could help someone with my story and/or perspective because you all hae helped me so much. But yes, I can vouch for those two companies listed. And if you have questions about them feel free to pm me ladies. Best of luck to all of you!

Gotta also throw in the thanks for all the GREAT at home sites ya'll mentioned! SOO looking into these, as I'm on the computer all day and also very agoraphobic, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

I agree that this is a great thread for other work at home jobs!

I am just starting cam work again (after only a very brief stint a few years back, at the time I had a 1 year old and was a single mom, so it was really difficult to even fit cam work into my schedule) so I don't have burn out yet, but I also haven't gotten past the initial "waiting to make money" period. I just had my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, and aunt flo came a few days ago, so I've been spending this time starting to network on social media and figure out my niche so I can be prepared. I'm hoping to make my debut tomorrow, permitting that my recovery is coming along. I did want to say that I know how easy it is to get burnt out in ANY adult industry. About 12 years ago (dang!) I was on an alt porn site and it was fun for a while, but eventually it got the the point where I would just not want to do a photo shoot or film anything. I'm hoping I can maintain an equal balance of me time, family time, school time (finally starting undergrad in January), and cam work enough to be able to pay bills and have some extra money, because I have been so broke for so long, it's really getting to me. Living off of child support totally sucks.

I wanted to add another work from home job that is hiring. They only pay $6/hr, so it's measly compared to other options, but if you're a night owl it's a good gig. You teach conversational English to Japanese students over skype. The sessions are 25 min, long each, you only get paid once a month, but it's basically just talking to people and getting paid to do it, and you don't have to take any clothes off. You set your own hours and students will reserve time slots, so you just have to sign on when it's time to work. Here's the link:

Hope that helped some! And I am totally bookmarking a bunch of links that everyone already mentioned that I hadn't heard about, just in case. I can't even work outside of my house at this point for many reasons, so at home jobs are necessary for me if I want to make any money. I'm really crossing my fingers I can do well on cam for a while!

Convergys has called me like twice in a month, so they MAY BE a good one to get hired fast. I didnt want to move forward though, because they really wanted full timers.
You may want to try working part time and cam part time. I have done that a lot in the past, I realized Im easy to get burnt out ANYTHING thats just the same for too many hours. Good luck.

Does anyone have any experience with Arise Virtual Solutions? I completely forgot that I put my resume up on careerbuilder ages ago and I just got an email from them that they saw it and are interested and want me to apply. It's entry level call center work from home and the wage looks to be a bit more fair than other companies I have seen, but sometimes these things can be scams and a waste of time. I wouldn't mind doing it full time, actually, because that would still give me time to cam part time on the side. Just curious if anyone has ever worked for them and can share anything?

Does Lionbridge REALLY care about having a bachelor's degree, or will they hire someone with an AA? Going back to finish up my degree isn't really an option till my little guy is at least in preschool. And he's the reason I can only work a few hours at night, so a job where I'm on the phone is a definite no go. Really want to try it out, but not if I'm just wasting everyone's time

yeah the comp im using is a Pentium 4 processor made in 2004 i have a perfectly good i7 processor comp that i made when things were a little better by buying the parts piece by piece it just needs win 7 installed on it but i dont have a cd or money to get one . i had someone link me a torrent to an iso file of win 7 and a code for it - tomorrow my boyfriend is going to buy a set of blank dvds for me so i can burn the iso file on a dvd and run it and hopefully everything goes smoothly. thnaks everyone whos responded to this thread so far . xooxox =^y^=

Hey Snowy, Couldn't you just take your hard drive that already has windows on it out of your old computer and put it into your new one? I know that it's different hardware but it should automatically find the drivers with windows 7. Just an idea, instead of going through trying to burn the cd's...

Good luck!

No,you don't need a bachelor's degree. I only have an AA myself and was hired, and I've heard of some being hired without even that.

From what I understand, sometimes they're not hiring from certain states, for whatever reason. However, there's also Appen Butler Hill,a great company, which is the same kind of work.

The Lionbridge exam was hard as heck, I spent hours and hours doing it and I got all the way to part 3, passed both 1 and 2 and failed 3 :( BUT they've given me another chance on it shockingly so I'm really hoping I pass this time!

Wow I can relate to the burnout Snowy--it just happens and you start to resent having to go online and cam. As many cool guys that you meet camming, there are too many freeloaders and looky losers and it does start to get to you. It's hard sometimes to keep up the energy and good vibes that you need to be successful at camming.
I hope things work out for you (for everyone posting in this thread really) it can help to have another source of income so that you don't begin to feel hopeless and desperate when you webcam.
I've been trying to get some part-time work transcribing for a television show, one of my friends had told me about it--she is waiting to hear from them when they will be hiring again--she needs to be working again soon-fingers crossed for all of us.
Hope you are feeling more hopeful Snowy, its hard but you have to stay positive
Good luck everyone and thank you for the very useful information that was contributed, great help for many of us :)

Lionbridge is annoying the hell outta me with that. I think I applied for Web Content Judge, wasn't accepted, and then their e-mail said I can also apply for the Internet Assessor opportunity (I think that's what it was). When I tried to apply for it, I put in the info it asked for, and it kept saying that my e-mail is already registered in their system. Okay, so...how the hell am I supposed to apply? It sounds like they really make people jump through hoops just to get hired.

Its one of reasons why i still stay with MFC u can get paid to just talk and tease and not do much. i do cum shows once every few months because normally the most i do is get naked once the clothes/top come off the tips stop then when the clothes / top go back on my room emptys out and i cant rebuild . That is why i have a love-hate relationship with MFC

My interview at the children's fitness center went great, and I was offered a position. I told the lady that I will definitely let her know by Thursday evening (that's when she needs to know if I'll accept). Then I had an interview today at a daycare center, and tomorrow morning they're having me come in to spend about a half hour in the classroom to see how well I do. They are aware that I was offered a position somewhere else, so after they see how I do tomorrow morning, they will be giving me a decision that same day on whether or not they're hiring me. So basically, by tomorrow evening I will definitely know at which place I will be working. And the great thing is that both of these places are within walking distance of where I live. In fact, they're practically right next door to each other. Right now I'm leaning towards the job at the daycare center.

It's crazy that just some time ago I was saying that I will never go back to working for someone else. Never say never, huh? Lol.

This morning I had what I guess you could call my second interview where they had me spend some time in one of the classrooms with the kids. The kids were comfortable with me right away, and didn't have any problems mispronouncing my, uh..."ethnic" name. :P When I was leaving they were like "Where are you going???" and giving me hugs. That right there is what it's all about...caring for these kids while being a role model who they admire/respect. It's a great feeling. And the age group is cool too (4's) because it's the age group of kids I can actually have conversations with (as opposed to infants who can't speak back to you).

Just like with the other place, the same day I was offered the job. So now I have two places wanting to hire me, and I'm definitely leaning towards the daycare. I just need the lady to get back to me about what hours she's thinking, so I can make sure I can definitely accept. And then I need to call the other place to politely turn them down.

And thank God neither of these places gave me a hard time about my nose stud.

I remember trying out QuickTate a few years ago. The calls are so short you're constantly slowing down to go to the next one. I don't really remember specifics on what I got paid but I think I ended up with $13 paid to me and realized it was NOT worth it after a few hours of work. Mind you I type 75-90 wpm.

I don't have any experience with other transcription companies.

Transcription through agencies was hands-down the most exploitative work I've ever done. It worked out to about £2/hr for work that was both exhausting and unreliable, and also dull as hell. If you think chargebacks are bad, wait till you've got a percentage docked from the £10 worth of file that you spent all night typing up, because you typed a semicolon instead of a comma.

If you can find clients directly, by e.g. advertising to local doctors, lawyers, marketers, podcasters, grad students, or anybody else who routinely needs transcription done, it's an OK occupation, but, like any indy business it requires hustle. Non-indy, it's a quick road to carpal tunnel and despair.

I know Quicktate and it is not worth the money unless you are desperate or home bored. You can make more doing mystery shopping. You really dont make much there. But I recently found Odesk and Elance. I have made money on Odesk and have an ongoing contract with a client
You bascially make a free profile, and apply to jobs. There is still an interview process normally thru skype but you set your hourly rate. A lot admin work, customer service, transcription, and tech jobs avail. oh yea and you can take tests to prove certain skill sets. Now that can work against you if you score low and the job you are applying too wants soomeone with a higher score. But overall the sites are legit, There are still scammers who manage to get through but if you are getting invitee to interview jobs you have not applied for then its probably a scam. i weed them out but filtering out all the clients who have never hired or paid anyone.

Go behind the scenes. Open a cam studio, make a members website, shoot and sell clips of other performers, etc. Many adult companies also are usually hiring so check into them.
