Do you work days or nights? You mean they sell VIP rooms for 30 minutes or they sell dances and are up there for 30 mins? Either way we have excellent threads on Hustle Hut about selling VIP rooms/blocks of time and selling individual repeat dances. Get on over there and look in the 'Best of Hustle Hut' thread for the links.

Toronto is a tough city to dance in Sarah, particularly so as a clean dancer, and even moreso as a newbie. It's hard not to get discouraged when other girls are making money hand over foot, but you will likely only get better with time. It just takes a bit of practice to get used to hustling and interaction in the club environment, and then a bit more to deal with working in a dirty city where extras are basically the norm. Defensive dancing will be your best friend -- never let your pussy or tits be in a vulnerable position where the customer is able to reach out and touch them. This often requires lots of wiggling, but it saves you a bit of extra time to get some more money out of them. I've sold strings of dances and spent the entire time wiggling -- I think some guys just like the "challenge" of trying to get away with more, but don't actually care if they get more in the end.
And there are good clients out there: look out for the tourists especially, but even locals aren't always looking for 'more.' Like Odette suggested earlier on -- hold on to them when you find them! Push to turn them into regulars: let them know your name and when they can find you at the club. Tell them you had such a wonderful time with them and can't wait to see them again. Maybe even exchange numbers/emails if that's something you're comfortable with - though if you work a regular schedule, that's not as necessary.
Finally, don't be afraid to try out different clubs. Some are better environments for clean girls than others, and you're hardly stuck in this club forever just because you started there. I find a lot of girls take a long time to "upgrade" to a better club when they first start dancing (myself included!), but it can make a world of difference. Being the new, unknown face is also good in extras club since the regulars will want to take you for a spin to see if you're dirty. They certainly don't turn into regular customers or big money, but it's a decent start if you can dance defensively.

Aw girl I'm sorry you're having a shitty time, this city really blows for dancing, I barely ever work in the city anymore tbh, it sucks so much and is just not worth it. There is a good chance no matter where you work the majority of the girls are doing extras espescially if they're going up there frequently for a long time...to put it in perspective, for me me as a clean dancer working in this city over a 3 year period...most guys I have found will go for 2-4 dances, and if you're lucky you find one who really likes you (these are the ones you want to really PUSH to become your regulars by being super nice to them and treating them like gold), and will spend more.
It is hard to convince people to spend a lot of money on lapdances in this city. Why?
1) The clubs/law enforcement give Zero shits about upholding the law. Probably some kind of shady deals going on in that dept. Don't think anyone would be surprised to hear it given all our mayor's funny business.
2) The clubs are overrun with girls and there are no more customers
3) There's a burlesque show every weekend where guys can go see titties for less cover charge and less expensive alcohol.
4) There's a hooker/escort/massage parlour on every god damn corner and advertised all over the papers
5) Extrapolating on the ^. Full Service with an average escort runs a guy about $250-$300. No surprise that you'll rarely be able to pull more than that out of any customer even a really really good one because...why would they when there's a girl in the next booth offering waaaaay more for who knows what?
6) Unemployment in Toronto is 3x higher than the national average. And so are the living costs (or so it seems). Basically everyone is perpetually broke and has been for last few years.
So what can you do:
1) Manage your expectations to avoid disappointment and burnout. Your earning potential as a clean dancer is limited in toronto in comparison to other canadian cities. You will have to work harder here for less money, it is just the reality. Some clubs here you can't even make anything at all if you don't do extras.
2) Put as much into your looks as you can so you can get hired at the best club that will hire you. All the clubs are dirty, but how obvious the dirtiness is varies. Some of the clubs have a higher class environment than others, this is where you will find a higher percentage of customers that are looking for clean dances, but you will still be propositioned for extras regularly.
3) Embrace being the fluffer. The guys you just KNOW are in there to get extras--don't waste time hustling them, but do drop by after they've gotten their drink and BEFORE the extras girls get to them and just sweetly smile and ask them for a dance. If you are young and cute sometimes they say yes anyways for a song or two. Hey, I will definitely take some guys $60 to get him all worked up before he gets his dick sucked. They seem to think I'm silly for not wanting the extra $140, but hey you do this 3 or 4 times and you just made the same amount or more without risking an std:) You MUST be an opportunist. This is not up for debate.
4) Diversify your product offerings. And I don't mean blow jobs. You can offer hand, neck, and back massages! You can also do sexy palm readings, literally anything you can think of that you think a customer might like and you feel comfortable doing, offer it! Other good tricks to have up your sleeve as a clean dancer are: funny jokes, an easygoing personality, and excellent conversation skills and a full mental library of Stuff Guys Like to Talk About--cars, sports, motorcycles, guns, video games, etc
5) Master the GFE hustle. It's what makes the stripclub experience ultimately unique, and what this business boils down to is connection. Sex is a very obvious commodity that men can openly admit to seeking. It is not as socially acceptable for men to seek attention and intimacy and emotional connection. You'd be surprised at how many lonely guys out there are actually doing just that under the guise of seeking "sex". It's easier for them to do it this way, and once you figure out what they really want these customers are GEMS and a high percentage are regular material. They're also usually a pleasure to deal with, and this is why I stick mostly to this style of hustle.
6) Try some clubs outside the city. The commute is a pita and so is getting home if you don't have a car but sometimes it can be worth it. Oshawa is a decent area, and there are some ok clubs in towns in southern ontario outside the city.
I remembered some new ones:
7) Time slot discounts. Since a bunch of girls do extras, it's not like anyone is going to be down your throat for cutting a little deal, but obviously be discreet, out of respect for any other clean dancers who may be working, and excessively undercutting is never a good idea. There's a lot of info about this in other threads, but since lapdances are sold per song, average song is 3.5 min, you can say there is 17 songs per hour which works out to $340. So if you offer a half hour for $150 for example, that's a $20 discount, or a free song (however you choose to market it), $300 for an hour is 2 free songs/$40 discount.
8) Worst case scenario to shut down a conversation about extras with a customer you are done with (as in they continue to pester you after you repeatedly say no, yet continue to spend money on you/call you over/interrupt you, etc.) is to bring up STDs. I was appalled when I was younger that oftentimes the conversation/pestering would continue after me repeatedly refusing and following with any number of excuses. Now if they annoy me off enough, the magic word is herpes. That shuts them and their boners right up and leaves you free to continue your night in peace. 100% effective :)
Feel free to pm me if you want! Good luck on your next shift!

Last night I made $170. I wouldn't normally share my earnings but it's something I'm proud of and under these circumstances where you all are helping me improve my overall hustle and earnings, I don't mind. People think it's easy earning money as a dancer - it is DEFINITELY not. It's exhausting physically and emotionally.
I'm happy with earning $170...for now. It's not a lot compared to other dancers but it is SOMETHING. I knew Toronto would be a difficult place to work in from the get-go so I know what I've gotten myself into. I'm hoping to travel outside of Toronto once I become more confident in myself. It's a bit of a blow to the ego when you see girls go upstairs for like...5 songs and you automatically do the math in your head and think of what they're earning vs. you.
VIP is $20 to get in, and then $20 per song. I hope I've answered all your questions. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for this forum. <3

You should be happy with that, especially as a new dancer! I had lots of of lower earning nights at the start, and they still happen now too. Don't think about what the other girls are doing at all, in fact depending on what club you're at I'd say to not go near them at all lol. Some clubs the girls are really nice to talk to, it depends on the place. I'm glad you found the forum it's a great resource espescially for new girls. Stick around :)

Are you trying to do strings of dances or are you doing one dance and jumping up and getting dressed? The trick is to keep them up there.

I know how to get a number of dances...I just got annoyed that for awhile it seemed impossible to bring anyone upstairs into the VIP lounge and yet girls were going up there for awhile.
Last night was DEAD. I left after three hours. The club was freezing, someone I knew back in high school (I think it was them) was sitting by the stage and I was tired of sitting with thirty other girls with only four men inside the club. I could have stayed later but then I would of had to pay for a cab instead of just busing it home.
Hopefully when I work next I can have a decent night again.
