What do you mean "SAD" ? You should of worked more shifts in December because the club was packed every single night. Everyone made money in December. It's a shame you didn't. You would make more money if you worked more shifts.

^^Seasonal affective disorder, which manifests as extreme insomnia for me. I banked every night I actually went in (even broke my all time record!), but the lure of money just doesn't break through the spell when I'm shuffling around like a zombie. That being said, I wish I forced myself to try on the days where I was on the fence. I hold myself to very high standards and have been absolutely mortified on nights where I've gone in on no sleep and introduced myself to the same guy three times, but plenty of strippers bank on acting dumb so I should probably get over it.

I wouldn't have wanted to work in a big-banking club when I first started. The club I started at was new, slow, and the girls weren't sharks about hustling, but it was great for learning. I didn't feel overwhelmed, there was lots of time for me to practice, the girls were very helpful, etc. I love the club I work at now, the money is great (I'm in LA though so it's no help to you, sorry!) and it's busy but OMG if I had worked my first night there???? I would have fallen on my ass. The girls I work with are tough hustlers.
I really wouldn't worry too much about being at the most amazing club your first month because you're just going to be mostly learning... yeah you're gonna make money but it's unlikely you'll be pulling down $1,000 nights, though of course not impossible. I would just think of your first month as being your "training" and personally I think that is easier to do at a slower club than one that is super busy. You can move to a better club once you have experience, and they will be more likely to hire you if you are not a brand-new stripper and give you good shifts (there's a girl at my club who is brand new and she's cute but they stuck her on days and honestly I'd be surprised if she ever gets to work nights-- they know once she does she's never gonna want to work a day shift again so I think she's stuck there).
As other girls have said, even identifying a "bankable" club is difficult to do. I mean, I love my club but it has shitty reviews in the club review section of this website with girls saying they made no money, customers were bad, etc. Just cause I make money there doesn't mean everyone will. Same to be said of some other clubs I've tried out in LA that I made no money at, I know many girls that loved it there and couldn't understand why I did so badly.

As a career dancer who moved to NYC to chase some $$ I still found Tina's post motivating because I'm pretty much the dancer she describes. SAD kicked my ass this winter and I worked a grand total of 6 shifts in December. I made the same amount last December in my previous small town club. I worked way more often then, but what's the point of chasing high income potential per shift if not to make more money? An ego boost?
I do it because it works for me. I work half as much as the average dancer and make the same or more. If it doesn't work for ya don't do it. I never understood why tina did it with her meager earnings. But non the less if you got something out of her thread that's all that matters.

Thanks for sharing this. It's the first time I'd seen that thread. I found it really motivational!
I'm glad you found it useful! Some of our dinosaur threads are really great resources. :)

definetly get your feet wet first. if you live on your own it wouldnt be so bad if you were caught/ so no worry of getting thrown out. one of my parents friends comes into my club and because of what im wearing and how much makeup i wear..swear to god... ive looked him in the eyes at point blank range- and he does not recognize me at all. but ive heard the myrtle beach-miami-lasvegas circuit is a popular one but remeber with a circuit like this you need to be on TOP of your game. perfect bod/hair/makeup/tits/outfits everything because you are competiting with girls that have been doing this for years.
hope that helps some

It's kinda sad that no one dancer participated in this thread was willing to give you any helpful info except for say: "get your feet wet". I started to work at a very competitive club in a very low season ( it was summer in Florida) and didn't know how to hustle at all. My first week I worked 3 nights and made $450. Not much, but if you used to make$600 a month, you'll be happy with that for the time you learn to hustle. After you learn and you make $700-1000 a night, sell rooms and etc, I'd say always shoot for upscale clubs. Try out NYC because NYC has a big potential. The best season to work in NYC on my opinion is in September through Mid December. South Florida is good to work starting in early December through late April. Good luck!!!

Someone suggested you try Mass or RI. Last I knew clubs in RI were pretty bad for the extras... one that I know of actually has a brothel build in! MA was always good money to me in the past. Don't you have someone who could go with you? Maybe you can go for a day or two and get a hotel??

See post #5 in this thread, which probably summed up best why no one was jumping up to say 'COME WORK HERE THE $$ IS FANTASTIC!!!'
I think recommending travel dancing right off the bat to a brand new girl who has nvr danced b4 could seriously set her up for a bad start. Any of us on here could say 'Come work at XYZ club' but just b/c it works for us, does not mean it will work for the OP, then if the club or dancing in general does not work out for her she will be fortunate to have broken even or a bit better, if not stuck in the negative due to travel expenses on top of the usual new-stripper spending.

^This. I also started out in NYC in one if the bigger clubs, but it was too much for me so I had to down grade for a bit and worked at smaller clubs. Eventually when I got more experience then I went back to the bigger clubs. Even if girls were making money somewhere doesn't mean I would. Again, people say how they make all this money in NYC but I tried it and I just couldn't. I can't stand room clubs and don't have the patience for it. Incidentally when I went to other towns I found I made more money there because it suited me somehow.

Exactly without being a seasoned hustler traveling is a bad idea. Hell I've traveled with girls that were seasoned hustlers and had to leave because they couldn't get hired where we were or since they are not top earners in there local clubs( some even were) but couldn't handle the different types of hustling ability it takes to travel over the country. Also recommending someone to go to a place who's never danced that has some of the highest house fees in the country and is one of the most expensive places to stay isn't to bright...

I'm not sure if you noticed, but I said AFTER you learn how to hustle go to NYC. Not immediately. I also told the OP what works for me because her post asked literally: "what club are YOU banking at?" It didn't ask: "What club will I be banking at?" Think of it that way before you decide what is " bright"

The problem is that what works any one of us is not guaranteed to work for her. To jump right into travelling would magnify the stresses that come w/ being a brand-new dancer. All we are doing is cautioning the OP not to get in over her head, which could well happen if she picks up & moves then gets stuck in an unfamiliar city at a club that may or may not even be safe(read: not a brothel) to work in, much less lucrative enough to get her promptly back home if she decides this job is not for her.

I think get your feet wet for two days! Then either you've got it or not you decide. After your feet are slightly wet its time to jump in feet first ready to do what you do best( what is it you do well: good stage? Cute? Sexy? Hustler? Talker? Vip seller?, lap dance seller? ect????? FIGURE OUT YOUR LOOK/ATTITUDE....$$$$$....and How much you want to make. You can swim with sharks you can
I was 17 the first time I danced small club, turned 18 two days later, and hit hard went DeJaVu the large club in my town, then I traveled To Alaska Hawaii. then Vegas Where I build myself into an amazing entertainer. I was 19 but cute as shit small boobs
I can talk a man outa money before he knows what happened. I'm really aggressive girl I know what I want and I go for it. When people say dancing is easy they have know idea. You need a very strong mind, because that intelligent mind and that hot body together can be unstoppable.
Yes took a couple months for me to really get my hustle down everyone is different, But used my gift to gab My Mouth piece, my body and my attitude all combined make my money $$$$$ This older dancer said to me" girl get your ass in Vegas" I did and brought some friends me and my girls were unstoppable. All naïve barley legal some 21 Bank Rollin in Vegas late 99-2009!!!! girl I think you've got no reason waist in time in lower end clubs. I had been scared of Vegas back when I was 19, went got hired at the best clubs moved to Vegas and made Bank for at least 10 years, I recently came out of retirement. Due to my life style choices I look better now than I did in my twenties. I'm about to be 37, So it is like starting over but with upper hand you know more about men when your seasoned, I'm excited been back about 2 months traveling cant work where I live but to anyone who is interested Dallas TX Is good Baby Dolls. I wish luck don't nervous
you got girl, You can do anything
