I'm struggling with Twitter lol. I keep trying to connect with guys who follow other cam girls...and they all end up being horrifying and racist and then I block them :D Come on twitter, where are you hiding your smart, nice, horny guys? I get plenty of them on Streamate but never in the wild!

Also please god follow me nobody is following me. I'm bad at this. @missbeatrixb

Is there any point in Twitter if you have it "request to follow"? I'm having an issue with someone in my personal life and need to be more discreet as they are stalking my profiles everywhere.

Depends on how many followers you already have. The people who already follow you will be able to see what you post but no one will be able to retweet anything.

Does anyone know how to turn on the DM option?

It's under "Privacy and Safety" in your account settings about two-thirds of the way down the page. You can turn them on or off by clicking the box.

Thank You so much.
I meant to say "Off" Must've been a Freudian slip.:D
I honestly don't get the point of using Twitter.
I've been using it for years, and don't have much luck in converting freeloaders to buyers.
I must be missing a big piece of the puzzle.

I lose followers every day, between accounts getting suspended and other people just unfollowing me. That's just the way Twitter goes. It will obviously be harder to get new followers with your account set to private, but obviously your safety is way more important. If you are friends with any of the promoters on Twitter, they can make tweets for you which will be able to be retweeted since it will be done by their account but I'm not sure you would even want that given your situation.

So what's a good sneaky way to promote yourself using Twitter if they keep shutting accounts down for sw? Like how can you link your sites without getting banned?

So what's a good sneaky way to promote yourself using Twitter if they keep shutting accounts down for sw? Like how can you link your sites without getting banned?

I've got all my links on my Twitter. Every single site I have is on my pinned tweet. I promote myself every day on there and most of my tweets have at least one of my links. Don't put any questionable pic as your avi or header including lingerie. Try to stay out of drama. Basically, don't do stuff that will cause someone to report you. Mark all your tweets as sensitive. That's very important. Don't use a bunch of hashtags and don't tag a bunch of people in your tweets. It makes Twitter think you're spamming. Change your tweets up. Don't use the same wording and the same picture or video in every tweet. They'll think you're a bot.

Lol got put in twitter jail. Apparently I've been spamming links so after the account is unlocked, I'll be creating a separate promo account. Anyone had luck doing this and just retweeting the occasional link?

They must be doing a sweep right now. You're the third person I've read about in the past two hours. You should definitely create a second promo account. I suggest doing it from your desktop and not your phone. I stopped using links in my tweets about six months ago. I still have it in my bio and my pinned tweet has my website in the pic. Oh and my Skype name is on my bio pic. These days I just tweet about random stuff and try to engage under popular tweets. It's been working.

I bet it was the OnlyFans links that got you in trouble. You actually engage and it's obvious you're not a bot.

Edit: Nevermind. The other two models who got temporarily restricted don't have OnlyFans links. But they have all the rest, ManyVids, Clips4Sale etc.

Yeah they're def doing a sweep. I got hit today and so did several girls I mutually followed. I'm only promoting my niteflirt on there, not any other sites, and I don't put links in my tweets generally, i just tag #niteflirt and sometimes stuff like #domme. I have a link to my most popular listing in my bio. I do also tweet about other stuff sometimes and try to have a lived-in account where I show that I'm a real woman with a life and interests.

It was either Indiebill or camlust.

Definitely working on the promo account. I literally took down damn near all of my auto tweets like a week ago. Trying to engage more, but tbh I live a nice boring ass low drama life. Working on being more exciting.

Just a lil tip! If you mute the phrase "RT @" you will see far fewer promo RTs in your twitter feed. You'll see regular original tweets you'll want to interact with from the people you've chosen to follow, without having to scroll through endless RTed explicit pics & vids of people you don't even follow and without having to mute individual accounts. It's cleared up my personal and cam twitter feeds a treat.

Does anyone else out there feel a bit intimidated by Twitter or am I on my own here? Lol

I want to start doing my twitter properly to bring in some more traffic and maybe sell some content, but I'm probably very reserved in comparison to a lot (if not most?!) models in the sense that I'm probably not much of an exhibitionist! I'm very much a private shows girl and when I see everyone putting it all out for the world to see so publicly it scares me off a bit ha!

I will say I fully admire those girls' hustle, it's just totally opposite of me who's generally quite private!

Maybe I should put a positive spin on this and try figure out a way to market it to my advantage??

I was on twitter when I was doing porn but I had to start all over and rebuild a new one when I “quit” 6 months ago. This time around I want to keep it SFW, and use it to let my fans know when I’m online. How can I whore myself when streamate won’t allow promo while streaming? Lol! Thanks in advance!

You can promote yourself from your phone while live streaming. But if you're on Streamate you can't mention your Twitter. So you'll just have to tease and strike poses for your phone cam while viewers in your Chatroom can see it.

As for keeping it sfw you really can't use it the same as a porn account...IF you care about not being bounced from Twitter. You have to be more clandestine these days, watermark your pics with your camname and camsite. But in the actual tweet write something like "Today is gonna be LIT! Come share it with me LIVE!!!". Do you still have your old porn account?

I feel like I'm starting to notice this change on Twitter that's been discussed a lot?

It just seems a bit quieter overall..I've found it good for letting people who've found me on my sites updated with when I'm online and so on, but I find engagement very low, whatever I tweet. I don't feel like I'm gaining more business from it, but rather increasing selling possibilities with the customers I already have. I just hope it's worth the effort!

Maybe my following game is off? Should I be following more people? I recently started up my Twitter again as I found it so draining and I only have about 500 followers now. I don't commit so much time to it now so as not to burn out again. But I'm going to try and keep photos fresh at least. x

I don't have my porn twitter anymore, I created a new one in April and this thread encouraged me to start using it this week. I linked to my niteflirt, verifiedcall, and SextPanther. I haven't linked it to my modelcentro website yet. I post when I'm getting ready, when I'm online, about to do a gold show, taking a break, and a thank you tweet after logging off. my old porn friends with large accounts are finding my page and retweeting stuff for me and that made a huge difference in traffic. I need to watermark my stuff for sure. I have a logo, but my cam link is a great idea too! Thank you!

If your Twitter threads are being spamned with porn clips and K-pop fans like mine are, you can now hide those tweets. Twitter started rolling this feature out a few months ago and it's now finally available on all my accounts. I love it! Since the Summer I've witnessed an increase of porn accounts dropping their teasers in random threads. It's annoying and only adds to our issues with being a Sexworker on social media. But they're most likely affiliates who don't give af. As for K-pop trolls I have no words.

The ‘Hide Replies’ feature also happens to be one of the more radical new features the company adopted in recent times. With this, users now have the option to keep any tweet they feel is disturbing or irrelevant from being visible in the conversation.

However, what needs to be kept in mind is that the tweets aren’t getting deleted. Rather, they are just being kept out of view and users have to specifically click on a link to view the hidden tweets. This way, the user who started the conversion has greater power to keep only those tweets they feel is relevant to the topic on hand while keeping at bay those they feel are either abusive, unnecessary or is of bullying nature.

If you're on multiple sites, would you promote all of the sites? Or just pick one? Or if you're on a mix of token sites and private, promote one token and one private?

What would be the best day to go about it?

Hey ladies. I'm trying to get my promotional Twitter going, but I'm struggling to get followers so I could use some help. I believe that more promotion benefits all camgirls as a group, and I enjoy tweeting in my freetime to help the cause.

I use it to retweet models who I'm sure are legitimate, but I'm still at 80 followers and struggling to get more. I've had the account for about 3 months. My goal is to get anywhere from 1k-20k followers on this account within 1-5 years. The point of this account is to help camgirls make more money, and show when they're online and available. It's mainly aimed at Discord, Reddit, and Skype girls.

Right now, I mainly retweet girls and that's it. I think it comes across as a bit spammy, so I have a few options.

1. Continue retweeting girls like I've been doing (kind of spammy?)
2. Use pictures/videos/content from models who like the promotion, and make new tweets about it when they're available and online. I think using more original content, like making an original (unretweeted) tweet with a girls picture/video, adding a few hashtags to the tweet, and then tagging other promotional twitter accounts in the tweet so it gets more exposure from other promotional accounts.

The issue with option #2 is that I'm worried about coming across as weird or creepy, but my intent is to just help models make more money and promote. I believe that what benefits one of us, benefits us all. I would ask for their permission, of course, but I guess I'm just nervous about making anyone uncomfortable. What are your thoughts? I could really use some advice.

12-06-2019, 12:40 PM
I think it's awesome that you're doing this! I personally would looooove to have someone tweet the hell out of my content, lol. If you get someone's permission, you shouldn't have to worry about them being uncomfortable. They should be happy about it.

I recently did a course on Instagram marketing, and the biggest thing is researching your niche, to see what other similar, successful accounts are doing. Videos are the most attention grabbing. Try to make sure you use a variety of hashtags, including some that are smaller niches, or trending.

Try tweeting at the busiest times of day, usually in the evening for your target audience.

And chat with other promoters or camgirls about retweeting each other's content. Teamwork can make a huuuge difference.

Finally, keep in mind the issues of shadowbanning, nudity, etc. on Twitter. Kinda sucks, but it's not the same quality of traffic for us as it used to be.

Shadowban= deliberately making someone’s content undiscoverable to everyone except the person who posted it.
It can be a full on shadowban that no one will be able to see your posts in their Timeline, but only when going straight to your Twitter page. I heard thre are some milder ban version than this one too.

You can tell if you re shadowbanned by posting with hashtags and then going on Twitter at the Latest tweets area to look for that hastag you just tweeted with it. If you don t appear, then you re shadowbanned.

This is one place where you can check that too:
https://shadowban.eu/

I ve been through several shadowbans on almost all of my twitter accounts (except the PSO one) but on my twitter for camming and the other twitter accounts for affiliate stuff I got out from these bans by deleting my entire tweets history, stopped retweeting and posting any pics that show lots of ass skin :))) ...you know...not even a pic where a girl has nude color panties, as I want the AI softwares to clearly know I m not posting nudity.
-I tweeted links less and interacted more with other people so the twitter accounts would look genuine and started tweeting without any links some of the times, so it wouldn t look spammy.
-and probably a bunch of other stuff too, but mainly nothing spammy/bot-like tweets and voila! I think everytime I did this it took less than 2 weeks to get from under the shadowban.

So I wasn't sure if this merited a new thread, but is anyone worried about the new Twitter TOS taking effect January 1st? It only specifies a few things, but then says that accounts dedicated to posting "sensitive media" will be suspended. One article: https://www.dailydot.com/irl/twitter-nsfw-ban-2020-sex-workers/

I've already had a cam-related Twitter account shadow banned and another shut down for allegedly spamming, even though I wasn't. I was just posting content a lot on it and linking to my Indiebill. I have since created a new Twitter account, put it on private and that makes it difficult for engaging with new potential customers because I have to approve everyone before they can follow me. Some of my cam followers do manage to find me but I don't really know how to maximize it anymore when I have it on private. One of the reasons that I set it to private is because despite using a burner phone number and cam-related email for that account, a family friend somehow found and followed me on my cam persona before I made it private.

It specifies quite a bit. From the article in case no one clicks through:

Twitter announced a change to its Terms of Service (https://twitter.com/en/tos) effective Jan. 1, 2020. While reviewing the site’s Twitter Rules, governed by the terms, users found (https://twitter.com/celineorelse/status/1201935431287394304) changes to Twitter’s “sensitive media policy” (https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/media-policy) that bans “violent sexual conduct” and “gratuitous gore content.” The site defines adult content as media that is “pornographic or intended to cause sexual arousal,” including “cartoons, hentai, or anime involving humans or depictions of animals with human-like features.

To my knowledge the real update is more specific than the past. I'm not really sure if that means they're gonna kick us all off once and for all now? I'm curious to see what happens to all the Furry and Hentai accounts to be honest.

Starting a new Twitter account set to private isn't going to bring in much interest. No one can see you. You would have to engage other twitter threads to get visibility. Actually that's what we all should be doing anyways but it makes it even more difficult when it shows that you've chosen not to share your content.

be more strategic when you post . Theres a few ways you go about this you could make a pinned post with your cam links .You could take it a step further and use canva or something and make your links as part of the graphic if that makes sense. That way the twitters crawlers wont flag it . or make a website and post your links somewhere on that . I use this service called /allmylinks.com/ (https://allmylinks.com/) . You could set your website in your twitter profile as your profile on All My Links
. Take tasteful teasy photos act like a real person act like your not trying to sell yourself think "how would i act on twitter if i wasnt a sex worker and just a super sexual 9-5r"

Hot balls, wtf has happened to Twitter?

I feel any engagement in my posts is dropping by the day? If it wasn't for the good-paying indie customers I'd gained from there, I'd get rid.

I'm thinking about encouraging people to move over to AVN stars but I just don't have the independent following at the moment. It's just painful! I seem to be using it now to exclusively drum up indie customers via DM. It's worth it for that..just!

I came across this article on Twitter. It mentions some off the record info regarding the future of Twitter. New updates and changes etc. One interesting change mentions people being able to tip one another's tweets.

https://www.theinformation.com/articles/the-people-with-power-at-twitter

Product Changes

While Twitter’s core product remained mostly unchanged between 2015 and 2018, there are signs the company is beginning to introduce changes more rapidly. In early 2019, it made an experimental beta application dubbed “twtr” available as an option for users. The main Twitter app will soon incorporate a simplified interface for sorting replies to tweets in the beta app, the company recently told reporters.

Twitter is also considering a feature that will allow users to tip—sending each other money from their tweets—according to two people familiar with the company’s decisions. It couldn’t be learned when the tipping feature will debut or whether the microtransactions play will see Twitter linking up with Dorsey’s other company, Square.

Twitter and Square already partner to let users make donations to politicians through tweets, according to company filings. A Twitter spokesperson said the company explores lots of ideas and that it wasn’t currently developing a tipping feature.

Other coming product changes to Twitter include giving users the ability to limit who can reply to their tweets—they can restrict replies to accounts they follow or accounts mentioned directly in the tweet, or turn off replies altogether. Twitter has also recently started letting users follow topics of interest, such as “Star Wars” or a basketball game, as well as individual accounts. The investment in suggested topics to follow, which is powered by artificial intelligence, is part of a broader effort to make Twitter more easily accessible to new users.

Starting today Twitter is starting to introduce stories to the platform. They will be called Fleets and is being introduced in Brazil.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.buzzfeednews.com/amphtml/alexkantrowitz/twitter-is-finally-doing-stories

People have told us in early research that because Fleets disappear, they feel more willing to share casual, everyday thoughts,” Twitter said on Wednesday. “We hope that people who don’t usually feel comfortable Tweeting use Fleets to share musings about what’s on their mind.”

Fleets cannot be retweeted or liked, the company said. They support text, GIFs, videos, and photos.

Twitter is introducing this new feature one week after reports emerged that activist investor Elliott Management bought approximately 4% of the company and is seeking to replace Jack Dorsey as CEO.

So apparently shadowban checker (shadowban.eu) is inaccurate? Or rather their wording is misleading?

For a long time it said I have only "search suggestion ban" with the explanation being that someone typing my username in the search box won't see my name in the autopopulating suggestions... I thought "couldn't care less about that".

Now I *finally* checked if a tag posted by me is visible in a different browser - and nothing! (I made sure to select "latest" tab as opposed to "top" results tab)

Tried looking up a weird semi made up word (non-hashtag plain word) that I wrote in a day old tweet and it is nowhere to be found.

I sensed that something is amiss especially last month or so - my follower count has been in a complete standstill - natural shedding of followers here and there and maybe 1 follower maybe once every 2 days.

Kayden how often are you posting links to adult sites? You can still get more eyes on your account but it will take more engagement. I've found that the best thing to do is to just jump into conversations. I use to be really shy about that and relied heavily on hashtags. Now I tweet in really popular threads and that helps me get noticed and by people I have things in common with.

It's pretty much endless clip sales tweets with the occasional organic tweet, so links to the clips sites + ultra explicit previews (although I get the impression that it's not necessarily the 18+ visual media but rather the links that put one's account in jeopardy?)

For the most part male/gay eye candy is the only type of post that ever catches my attention, so I guess commenting on those could be a start :D (given I'm completely invisible in search otherwise twitter is completely useless for me, aside from serving as a "business card" ranking high on Google)

So my plan is the following:
1) purge everything
2) continue to post nudity just tone it down a bit
3) no links of any kind except for AllMyLinks
4) spell out onlyfans.com as two separate words if I need to reference it?

...I looked up this person who I know is a pro at social media and she "only" has 11k followers (she's the type who would easily have 70k+) and account creation is sometime in 2019 so she definitely has had a suspension. Her account has some nudity but she also does this thing of filming a more explicit video playing on another screen, maybe that throws off the AI? And her onlyfans is under her domain (I'm too broke for that though). No other links of any kind. At least right now she shows to only have "reply de-boosting" no search suggestion ban.

All of the auto tweets with only a few tweets of your own + no interaction with other twitter accounts is what's shadow banning you. Twitter thinks you are a promo bot (and basically you are) so who would want to see that?

Auto tweets get you shadowbammed - I’ve most of mine off personally

You can buy a domain name right now for less than $10 on Namecheap. Plus it comes with private administration. Now just because many people use vanity names to disguise the path doesn't mean it works. I'm still on the fence about that one. It might provide a barrier or a delay but in the end Twitter may still be able to track it. I think it's worth a few bucks to test it out to see how it works for you.

As for engagement..are you saying that you can't find a single movie, book, videogame, politician, makeup brand, TV show, singer, type of food that you can't comment on other than porn? 😊 Really? Look at what's trending and then pick something that interests you. Find the most relateble tweet and then comment underneath. But don't try this until after you purge your account.

Instagram bonked me (I couldn't put it in my profile or dms) from using a vanity domain for my modelcentro a while back so its possible twitter could do it too.

Mine is the same. Had search suggestion ban for 2 years, with a recent respite of 1 day LOL! Apprently all adult related accounts have it now it's Twitter's way of ensuring we are only found by people directly looking for that type of content.

Indeed...! The few and far between followers, that I was getting, were these "harvesters" not saying they were bots or anything, but just liking my clip previews serially (to save them as a bookmark basically?)... Before I purged the very last one of my new "followers" had liked 48 of my clip sale tweets(!) Zero interaction, zero replies, nothing, just "mining" my feed for some porn previews

I guess my takeaway: turn off those stupid auto tweets! Lol

It has also escalated pretty recently in what the clipsites actually tweet, it used to be that clips4sale had a silent gif, ManyVids had a still image, now all of them have moved to full blown video snippets with sound. And, if you ask me at least, it does absolutely nothing to promote sales (lol, don't get me started, I have this conspiracy theory that Twitter users are completely impossible to convert , but I digress )

In short: think twice about enabling clip sale auto tweets
