This is why they should change the laws making strip clubs (at least private rooms) to have the expectation of privacy.

This was actually attempted by a few busted clubs over the years. However, to achieve legal 'expectation of privacy' for private rooms, the club would have had to comply with the same legal requirements as owners of hotels ... such as an ID check + logging the real identity of the occupants, time in and time out, etc. Besides the increased complexities and costs for the club, this would have been fairly disastrous for the married customer scenario you describe !!!

Honestly I think that Google is many years away from having contact lenses with cameras. They are still working with Novartis on the lenses to measure and transmit simple glucose data, which only involves the transmission of a tiny spec of data, and even that is likely a long way off. A number of advances would be needed in the miniaturization of camera, data capture, power source and transmission technology to make the full blown Google lenses a reality. There is a reason why the current version of Google glass looks so obvious, which is because they were not able to shrink the components down any more using current tech and you can bet that they tried. I doubt that many of the folks posting on here are still going to be in the adult entertainment business by the time that this becomes a reality.

But having said that, developers who are devising camera glasses that are less obvious are a realistic near-term concern IMHO. If this becomes a serious problem for clubs, I have no doubt that they will take steps to curb the use of these glasses. I also have no doubt that, as the use of this technology advances, so too will the development of camera detection and jamming technology. That is the beauty of capitalism. Entrepreneurs develop things which cause more difficulty for us and then other entrepreneurs pop up to sell us things to alleviate those problems. ;)

Don't the clubs with paid memberships have that data? Plus at the club I work - when customer pays with funny money his real Id and thumbprint is collected and our rooms are time tracked so this shouldn't be that hard for club owners but it sounds like they are simply something called l.a.z.y. Plus all new hire dancer Id is collected so if dancers can fork over this info to the owners then why can't the customers? One word to describe these laws s.e.x.i.s.t

I certainly hope like rickdugan suggested the clubs enable video / pic detection or jamming software to cutdown on creepy covert filming.

I'm pretty sure that the issue of jamming was covered earlier in this thread. US courts have ruled that it is illegal for private citizens / businesses to jam cell phone transmissions, so that's not happening. It IS possible to optically 'jam' digital cameras using extremely bright infrared light sources, but this is expensive and difficult for the clubowner to implement.

And, of course, the bigger question involves the clubowner's motivation ( or lack thereof ) to want to help dancers avoid covert photography ... and especially so if significant extra costs to the clubowner are involved to do so a la thousands of dollars worth of infrared light sources.

At a much simpler level, how many clubowners will actually post a formal 'no photography / no cell phones' policy in their club, which directly costs the clubowner nothing ? Less than half ? And of those clubs which do actually have such policies, how many are willing to actually 'get serious' with a customer who is caught shooting pics with his cell phone ? Again less than half ? And that doesn't even address customers using camera equipped glasses / watches / pens / keychains / shirt buttons where it's much less obvious to dancers and club staff that stealth photography is taking place at all.

I think you misunderstood. To achieve a legal 'expectation of privacy', the rented space has to comply with all of the regulations which apply to a 'hotel'. That means licenses, insurance, maintaining a guest register that goes back for months or years, etc. I can just imagine the 'field day' an angry wife's divorce attorney could have with a guest register that proves her husband spent private VIP time with two dozen different dancers.

Maybe this could help?

^^^ maybe that would help with facial recognition searches being 'thrown off'. However it certainly won't help a bit where webcam or strip club sales are concerned !!! As such, the actual effectiveness is slightly less than not camming or not dancing in the first place !

Oh god...This is so wrong! :'(

I've wanted to be in the adult industry since I hit puberty (Couldn't put that on the 'What do you want to be when you grown up?' homework...LOL)
BUT I also knew I wanted to own my own business whether it be in the food industry, spiritual etc. and the thought of being in a straight job like medical, politics, business just isn't for me and never has been. We all don't truly know the future for a fact and I might end up working at some vanilla stuffed shirt job but I doubt it. :-\

So it's not as much that I'm afraid of a boss outing me but...Well, I want children one day. I know that the majority of sexworkers I've met don't have kids and don't want any either but I know I do. I think I know I want kids more then I do any career path. I just dread the day my kid comes home from school crying because some other kid called their mom a 'whore' and has evidence of it.

Even if I raise my kids to be open minded etc. It would still be hard for them to maintain the attitude towards sex and women I gave them when some bully at school got on the computer and found my future porn videos.

I have no pic's of me online (Not even a facebook) and will wear a wig that's fluffy and covers half my face, heavy contoured dramatic makeup, colored contacts, speak with a fake accent and claim I'm from somewhere I'm not. Basically, I'm going to be disguising myself as much as some drag queens do for shows. Now if we were 20 or even 10 years back, I'd be safe, but with this software I might as well show my normal face and tell them where I live!

How can ANYONE no matter how much of a swerf or anti-sex worker individual think this is ok?! This is beyond an invasion of privacy and just plan dangerous! >:(

So, either get in this industry till I can open my own business and maybe use this extra cash for a college fund for my future little ones, nice house etc.....OR.....Not get into this job at all, work my fingers to the bone and struggle for my kids and myself. :(

I used to do Special effects make up and was wondering...How much can we trick the software?

Prosthetic chins, morticians clay to make false higher cheek bones, a prosthetic nose even! (Considering I want to do homemade porn, I have the time for all this) But would this work? You can't change the width between your eyes or the size of your face/head so would this even work? /:O

Love to hear replies on this idea! (And maybe from any mothers or future mothers on this subject as well)

I have two kids. I don't disguise myself in my clips, but I don't use pictures showing my face in promotions. My material has been illegally spread on the internet, so my face is there. I also use my face in my avatar, wearing a wig as you see. I had questions as well when I became a mom, but I know another mom of 5 doing the same thing, who I talked to and she leads a great life although people know what she does. So if anyone finds out (chances are basically zero; just check how many millions of new porn clips are uploaded every month) not all is lost.

1. If a kid from your kids school saw you in a porno, something went wrong. But not with you or your family.
2. Working in this industry means work, like struggling and working really hard.
3. Make clips and don't show your face instead of camming and you're safe

Oh, that's very reassuring. :)
I'm glad to hear that you and other mothers are in this industry and are still doing well. It seems like so many sexworkers are in college and we hardly ever think of the subject of being a mother in this line of work. You're extremely right that sexwork is hard work (Tell me about it, I've been researching for weeks and already feel a bit frazzled. Marketing, promoting, self employment taxes, props, set up, hours of video editing etc etc.) I should have specified. I meant that I know personally for myself that the only jobs available for me at this point in my life are 8-12 dollar an hour jobs doing customer service and that sexwork would be a lot easier for me personally while providing more money as well.

I was thinking the same thing while reading this post that you stated...Out of all the sexworkers on the web....What really are the odds of somebody specifically outing just you personally unless they were purposely searching for you. Even so, knowing that there are women out there that are open sex workers and mothers at the same time is really wonderful to say the least! It makes the fear of being outing a little less terrifying.

But just in case, I have been thinking of doing phone acting and then possibly make a few videos not showing my full face. With this facial recognition software and god knows what else coming in the future, it's just safer that way. Thank you for the reply!;D
