Has anyone done spearmint rhino london recently? I'm in rhino in another city but people keep making London sound really scary... I was thinking of doing thursday day shift next week just to try it and because i'm going to see someone on friday, just make a bit of money at the same time... but feel like i'm going to get my head bitten off or sent home ofr not tanning or for tanning not very well or something :S
btw my managers say thursday the big night in london for rhino!

Eek. Ok, go and buy a bottle of Head and Shoulders shampoo, and a bottle of cheap washing up liquid.
Wash your hair in hot water (hot opens the hair up so it will release more colour) alternating between the shampoo and the washing up liquid. Really rub it in, and push it up the hair shaft in the opposite direction to brushing. (From the ends up)
I turned a similar red disaster back to dark blonde last year by using this method. It takes a while, but you will get a lot of the colour out that way. Just remember to deep condition afterwards! xxx
I tried this today and it helped thanks girlie! My hair at least matched better when I went for my audition-- in that light you couldn't really tell. I'm going to try another wash and if that doesn't work I'll just make an appointment at the hair dresser. Bleh.
I had my audition and I think it went really well! When I got off stage she told me that she really liked the way I danced onstage, that she needs more girls that experienced and it shows that I have dancing for years and that I had a great body. She said that she has to audition five more girls for two spots but that she "really liked me" and that she would give me a call Monday.
I have never auditioned for a female manager before it was WONDERFUL to deal with a woman in that environment. We talked for another ten minutes about the club, she explained the house fees, how the schedule works and gave me a handout with the rules... we talked a bit about LA vs. London and how she prides the club on being very "clean." I think I made a good impression, I feel pretty positive about it! I also got a good vibe from the club, there's something about the sleaziness/dirtyness of LA clubs that makes me feel like I can't walk out of the dressing room onto the floor without taking a shot and I didn't feel that way there.
PinkiePie-- did you get hired on the spot? I've never been told I would get a call back before from a manager so that was a bit odd to me, at first I assumed that was her nice way of putting me off but she told me "I have to audition these girls but I really like you" about five times so that's why I'm thinking I must have done a good job?
PinkiePie
03-07-2014, 03:49 PM
I did get hired on the spot, but I've also seen girls get rejected (and not always nicely!) on the spot too. If she didn't like you she would have told you then and there, trust me! (It would have been the owner who auditioned you, I'm sure) She also wouldn't have wasted her or your time going through the fees and stuff if she didn't like you, so I would take this as a good sign.
We just had a load of girls come back from their holidays home (most girls go away for all of feb because it sucks!) so the schedule is probably a bit fuller than usual. Don't worry though, if she likes you, (and it sounds like she does, she wouldn't say it if she didn't mean it) she'll find space for you!
Oh, and I'm glad the hair advice helped! I was worried you wouldn't see my message in time!

Yeah it was the owner who auditioned me. I certainly hope she does! I didn't bother scheduling an audition with the Griffin or Stringfellows or SR cause she had asked me to audition, I'm going out of town anyway this weekend so hopefully I get a call from her telling me I'm hired Monday, and if not I guess I'll have to start making calls to set up more auditions next week.
It seemed pretty busy in the club when I got there! And god every girl I spoke to was Brazilian!
PinkiePie
03-08-2014, 04:31 AM
Argh, I'm so gutted I missed work yesterday! I'm not going in today either, I hope to god I'm better on Monday.
I'm sure you'll get good news, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
In response to the Spearmint question, it is kind of scary there. You won't get sent home or anything for not tanning properly, the managers are fine, but the girls are pretty hostile. Still, if you keep to yourself you'll be fine!
And yes, Thursdays are good! :)

I want to try one of the pubs next week but there is too much choice that I dont know where to start!! I was thinking Ye Olde Axe because I don't think you have to audition lol. Secrets Hammersmith is extremely cut throat and there are two many girls so unless you are lucky you can't make much money (especially for someone new and not English like me). I'm just comfortable and I dont want to have to audition anywhere lol.
PinkiePie
03-08-2014, 11:37 AM
I would seriously go in for a look around first. Ye Olde Axe is not a very nice club, especially if you're new to dancing.
I think you would much prefer Metropolis, and when I worked there I didn't have to audition, I just phoned and asked if I could go and try it out. No house fee for the first couple of days too.

03-08-2014, 02:05 PM
I've heard that the White Horse is nice from a couple girls on here! That's on my list of places to try out.
Honestly though don't scratch anywhere off your list just because you don't want to audition. I HATE auditioning-- I would get super nervous when I had to do it in LA, so yesterday at Browns I was EXTREMELY nervous considering I was auditioning in a foreign country and in front of a packed club (normally when I've auditioned it's been pretty empty because LA clubs won't audition you at the good hours they don't want to have to deal with it then). But honestly once you get onstage your body just sort of starts moving and you forget about what's going on and go into dancing-mode and it's only two minutes. I would hate to see you wind up in a bad club just because you didn't want to audition, I'm sure you'll be fine!
newb2
03-08-2014, 09:39 PM
Thanks for the advice girls.
I think the White Horse is very stage centric and I much prefer less on stage and more lapdancing. I'm just better at lapdancing than pole/stage dancing tbh. That's why I dont want to audition because me dancing on the stage is not really representative of how I can actually dance lol.
Tonight was a good night (for me anyway) and it was super duper easy as well, which has made me want to keep going at this club. I sometimes wish London only had a handful of clubs because I dont like when I have too much choice lol xD it makes me want to just try all of them but I obviously can't do that
I think I'll try Metropolis tbh and Ye Olde Axe. I know Axe is a gross club but tbh I just wanna see if it's as gross as people say it is.

She didn't say, she just said she definitely wanted me to work for her and to call tomorrow this number tomorrow and if there were any cancellations I would get them. How long did it take you to get on the schedule?
It's going to be so weird working on a schedule! It's not like that at all in LA, you just come when you want and they let as many girls work as want to... there were Fridays I would come to work and there wouldn't be space in the dressing room, I'd have to go in the managers office, which it's just silly to have the club so overcrowded like that. But I also always worked 6 hour shifts so I'm a bit dissapointed the shifts are so short at Browns.
It will be wonderful to meet you as well! What stage name do you go by? (pm me if you don't want to post it)
PinkiePie
03-09-2014, 11:11 AM
I went on cancellations for my first week, and on the schedule after that. Try to call before 11am tomorrow, as they take all the girls availability on Monday mornings for the following week, so hopefully you can get yourself on the schedule for then. Do ask if you can do cancellations this week though, as there will definitely be some!
I'm working every day except Tuesday, so I should see you. If we're on the same shift maybe we can grab a quick drink first? I'll PM you my dancer name - even though anyone who knew me could easily work out it was me from my posts, I still feel a bit odd posting my name online for some reason!

Hi everyone! First post ever on here haha!
I've been living in Australia for the last few years and I'm moving back to the uk this year, going to be based in Bristol, just wondering if anyone has worked there/is currently working there and can help me with what the best clubs are?
I'm obviously looking for good money, but also somewhere that's a nice club and also where the girls are pleasant.
HALP!
Thank you :)

Urban tiger is probably the busiest club in bristol as it has a good location by the waterfront. The house fees are high but you dont have to pay any commision.

Hey ladies,
Where can I buy a gown in London? Will the shop off Tottenham Road have them? And does anyone know the name of that shop?
I'm going to be making the rounds this week auditioning at a number of different places, a few of which require a gown so I want to buy one this weekend so I'll have it. I know I can probably purchase it online for much cheaper but I don't want to have to wait another week and I'm not comfortable having anything delivered to this flat since I don't have a mailbox or anything.

If you go to Tottenham Court Road and go towards Oxford Street (not New Oxford Street), across the road from Primark there is a shop that looks like a souvenir shop but it has a sparkly dress and stripper shoes outside. Go downstairs it turns into a stripper shop. Has everything you'd need. Otherwise there is an adult shop called Harmony if you walk a couple minutes in that direction that also have some gowns. Both shops are around the same price and have similar/the same stuff anyway.
Where are you auditioning?

Thanks hun!
God, everywhere... Spearmint, Stringfellows, For Your Eyes Only, Platinum Lace, Secrets, Sophisticats, White Horse, possibly Griffin, possibly Metropolis... I'm just gonna try out a ton of places! I don't have much of a preference at the moment. I mean, the strip pubs are great but I would rather try somewhere that has actual lap dancing, just think it will be easier to make some money. I know Spearmint and Stringfellows are the big ones but I don't know how I'll do with a 100 girls on a shift. I mean girls are fucking intense in LA and run up to customers all the time and whatnot, but I've never worked with that many girls before.

So I bought a gown today, I'm not crazy about it because their selection was a bit limited but it'll do. Did they watch you the whole time you were down there newb2? The guy stood watched me while I was sorting through their gowns and then stood outside the dressing room the whole time... I just wanted to be like dude I'm not going to steal your f-ing gowns, here's 80 pounds go away, I hate when store owners do that! I make enough $ I don't need to steal...

Similar to Tottenham Court Road there's a lovely little stripper shop in Camden near the tube station - tourist trap upstairs, stripperwear downstairs. I bought my last pair of shoes there and he gave me a good price. Not a huge selection of gowns but they can order for you too.

I'm in love with these gowns:

I think that one is so pretty I would wear it even if I wasn't at a gown club!
I meant to order a few of them from that website before I left the US, but I just got busy with other shit and didn't think I would need them since I didn't realize how many UK clubs require them. I would just order from their website but I know it will take weeks to get her and I don't even know where I'll be living in 3 weeks!

I auditioned at Stringfellows tonight and got hired, start tomorrow. I'm surprised they hired me to be honest, it was my first time dancing in a gown and the fucking dress got caught on my g-string and I had issues taking it off... it was not my best audition, lol. So at the clubs, are there actual lap dancing? Like light contact (brush their hair, touch their knee, etc) or you have to be a meter away?
And is For Your Eyes Only a difficult club to get hired at? Because I had to send them pics and they never responded! Their the first club not to get back to me.

My friend Beau works at Stringfellows and does well there, so good luck. I'm happy where I am right now, but I'm thinking of going to a London club when I've had some pole lessons. Also a bit worried that you have to give your house fee even if you make nada.

OMFG... so NOT a fan of Stringfellows!
I talked to the doorman tonight and he told me that tonight was especially dead and shit and that I should be pleased that I made money at all-- they let me leave early-- but it was horrible. They have silly rules like you can't carry a purse around with you on the floor, only two girls can smoke at a time so you have to wait, and you have to wear certain type of G-string... then, you don't get paid the night you work, they pay you the next night-- the men pay you in funny money and they split that in half, so you're making 10 pounds per dance and 100 pounds per the half hour (the half hour rate is pretty standard I guess, I was charging 200 pounds for the hour, at Browns but it's a lot easier to get a guy to pay 200 pounds for the hour than 400 pounds for the hour). Forget about girls running up to customers, these girls pack on 5-12 girls per customer and stand there with this deer in the headlights look just hoping that the customer will pick them, when a guy enters a group of girls pounce on him within seconds. They don't give a fuck if you're engaged in a serious conversation with a customer, they will jump in front of you and start stroking the customers neck, and it freaks the guys out. Maybe I'm being hoity toity and pretentious, but it's a level of desperation I cannot bring myself down to to stand next to 7 girls just hoping a customer will fucking talk to me. And these girls are the most unfriendly bunch I have ever dealt with, I asked a girl a question and she rolled her eye at me and wound't even respond (there were only a few English girls it's 99% Eastern European). I hardly got a chance to speak to any customers, I just went for the young guys (girls don't pack on to them as much because they know they won't do VIP) sold my 7 dances and got the fuck out of there. It was the hardest 140 pounds I've ever made and I only get to keep 70 of it-- oh yeah, and there's a 15 pound house fee, luckily I don't have to pay it because it was my first night. I'm going to go audition tomorrow at other places and just work the late shift, collect my money and see how it is tomorrow night. If I make bank I'll try it again, if not fuck it.
Whatever, it was a nice ego boost to get hired there and I wouldn't have made anything sitting at my flat so oh well. Maybe it will get better, I feel like I shouldn't give up but it was just a really frustrating night. The fact that you can't have your phone and these girl are so crazy unfriendly means you just sit, for like, hours, doing nothing.
Honestly, at this point I just want to find a nice club where I can earn 1000 pounds a week and work 3-4 nights... and be around friendly girls!

I had a very similar experience at Platinum Lace, it's ridiculous and it must be so uncomfortable for the customers. If I were you I would try For Your Eyes Only, never danced there myself as I gave up here in London, but I have heard great things.

I don't mind working in the clubs, but I can't deal with girls coming up to guys in packs like that. Girls running up to customers I can deal with, but not 7 girls to one guy...

Oh dear! I thought Stringfellows would be good. I talked to a customer who goes there regularly and he said it was so busy that customers had to approach girls. *shrug* I think you should try Platinum Lace. I've heard conflicting things about there but who knows. A couple girls said you can make £200-400 a night no problem with there never being bad nights but the management are dicks apparently?
Secrets is also good but if you work there I would suggest avoiding Hammersmith and going to Covent Garden, Holborn or Euston (although I've been trying to get shifts at Euston and they keep saying it's full :() I think all clubs have the running up to customers thing going on. Secrets (other than Hammersmith) have a 2 girls to a customer rule, a lot of the girls charge £40 a dance and it has a fair house fee system.
cairalis
03-27-2014, 07:21 AM
In Platinum Lace they have this rule that you cant approach a customer until he gets a drink, so when the customers comes in and sits down, girls flock around behind them and as soon as the drink is put down on the table at least 2 girls jump into every mans lap, it's too much for me. If I were you I would just go to the club (For Your Eyes Only) and ask to audition, who knows, maybe they dont check their mail...what about the Mayfair Club? I have only been there once, never worked, it is very nice inside and in a great location.

^Never heard of Mayfair, where is it?. I was thinking of trying Sophisticats tomorrow as well since that's been recommended to me by a few customers, and the White Horse, and Secrets it also on my list. I would really like to work somewhere not Stringfellows this weekend but I don't know if I audition anywhere tomorrow they will let me work right away?
I think I'm gonna give FYEO them a call next week. I also haven't heard back from Platinum! I don't understand why all the big/competitive places are getting back to me but these little clubs aren't?
I don't mind girls running up to customers, I just can't stand more than one girl speaking to a customer. In LA you cannot do that whether you are at the most upscale club or the dirtiest dive. You would actually get fired for that, it's the same as talking to a customer on the stage, it's against the rules. Managers don't like it. At Stringfellows the house mom did say they have a rule that once the customer buys a girl a drink, or a few girls a drink, that the other girls have to leave, but I don't know if the girls follow that.
I had a girl trip me once when I was trying to get to a customer back in LA and she got to the customer first but he saw and jumped up and walked over to me to make sure I was OK, lol... so I'm used to that, but I don't know how to hustle a guy if I have to be cutting 3 other girls off just to ask him his name. I mean literally you could be mid-sentence and these girls will totally cut you off!
I went to the Griffin tonight, christ they have the most complicated hiring process ever! I had to sent them pics and they said they weren't revealing enough, so I sent them others. Then they said to come in anytime, I assumed I was coming to audition, but then when I got there they said it was an 'interview.' So they took more pictures of me and had me fill out a form, then said they would have to give them to the owner and they would decide if they wanted an audition and I would hear back in a few days. The door guy was really nice and said he knew they needed girls and if I had already sent in pictures he would be surprised if I didn't hear back, so I hope I do because I was there at 7pm and the club was packed and there wasn't even a spare area in the dance room!

And nah Im in the Hammersmith Secrets. That one is the Holborn one, it's only open during the week and I've heard the girls are bitchy there but then again Secrets Hammersmith girls are extremely friendly lol so I dunno if it's relative to that

I ended up just going to Metropolis because they won't charge me a house fee and said I could work this weekend and audition at 10:30 tonight (my friend is leaving to go back to America tomorrow so I wanted to see her one last time). It's in a shit area but the club is actually nice from inside, it's got the best stage I've seen thus far! I start tomorrow so I'll let you guys know how it goes!
For Your Eyes Only finally got back to me so I'm gonna check them out next week and possibly Platinum Lace and Sophisticats. I also called White Horse and they said they would call me on Monday to set up an audition.

Damn, Platinum got back to me and said they are not hiring at the moment, which I never believe from a club. They're the only ones who have turned me down thus far! Damn I was really hoping to get in there.
Another thing, I just looked back at my e-mail from For Your Eyes Only and they are requiring proof of address. Why the hell would they need that?

It might be worth a shot to just pop in to the club and ask in person!

I had to send them photos so I think they just didn't like me :( I inquired to them and they said they were pretty full but always looking for 'exceptional' performers, then I sent them photos and 3 days later they got back and said sorry we're full but we'll keep you in mind for the future if things change. So I think I'm just not pretty enough/not their type...

if you got into stringfellows and browns youre fine

The thing with the pubs is, you can't just go in, you have to set up a time to audition they're a little different than the clubs. And they assign shifts, never have more than 12 girls working at the absolute most, usually more like 8, so they don't hire as many girls as the clubs do. If they've already looked at my pictures and turned me down I don't think there's much point in going in.
I'm going to wait a couple months and inquire with them later. I do find it a bit strange that I got into Browns/Stringfellows and Platinum turned me down, I wasn't aware they were competitive?
Anyway, sorry guys I think I've totally hijacked this thread! I'll stop whining now! lol!
