Do you actually want to live in Cardiff? I wouldn't move somewhere just in the hopes that the money is going to be big, Cardiff is very different from England!

I'm only really going to be there for about 6-8 months until next summer when I want to go to Ibiza tbh. And I'd much rather live with housemates that I'm friends with than on my own.

newb2
07-10-2014, 02:24 AM
And honestly I'm not really bothered about making "big" money, I'm just sick of London and it being so expensive. I'm ok with making average money

audrey_k
07-10-2014, 08:21 AM
But from your posts it seems like the money has been terrible in Ibiza? 6-8 months is a long time, there are lots of good places in the UK you can make average money and get on better without the high expenses of living costs. I dunno, I just wouldn't limit yourself to Cardiff!

newb2
07-10-2014, 10:05 AM
Yeah the money is shit here in Ibiza but I'm here to enjoy Ibiza, not to make money. As long as I'm making enough to get by here (which I am) then I'm fine with that.

Newport/ Cardiff is pretty much one of the cheapest parts of he UK to live in so i don't see any harm in you spending a bit of time there if you have somewhere trustworthy to stay.

Yeah it's more the fact that I have somewhere trustworthy to stay and tbh no where in England (or Scotland) appeals to me other than Brighton and I can't work there.

I am thinking of going back to dancing a bit this fall, perhaps September up until Christmas, I think I can work on average 2-3 times per week, it doesnt matter if its during the week or weekend...I passed the audition at Platinum Lace about a year ago but I only worked 3 shifts, I have not tried any other club, do you reckon I should try PL once more or maybe try out another club? Does anyone know wether the clubs would be OK with me doing just 2 shifts per week? (I live in London.)

Most clubs in London want three shifts. All the ones I've worked in wanted three, and some wanted four!
I'm not dancing at all in London at the moment, but I'll go back in September or October and I'll probably go to Spearmint or Platinum Lace as I'm friends with the managers at both clubs. (Not that that always works in your favour in strip clubs!)
I worked in Sophisticats for a while and made very good money there, so that might be worth a try? I'd go back there, but I'm probably not allowed because I walked out one week when I was pissed off and didn't show up for my next weeks' shifts. It's a good club though, and it's pretty easy to make money.

Back in the 'good ol days' before clubs started being sticklers about work papers, I LOVED working in Wales !!! Low contact, friendly 'down to earth' guys willing to spend within reason, low 'attitude' factor, etc. !!!

audrey_k

Second clubs wanting 3 shifts, everywhere I've worked (Stringfellows, Spearmint Rhino, Sophisticats, Browns/Horns, Metropolis) all wanted 3. Sophisticats fines you if you miss I don't know what happens at the others.

I like my Welsh escorting clients, they're cool, but they're hit and miss with spending, they can be a bit tight (or they can spend a lot, but I've always gotten the impression when they do they see an escort like once a year so it's a big deal for them). I used to like the ones I had in SCs most of the time, though they never really spent much money, they were just decent to be around. But god a thick Welsh accent? Don't know what the fuck they're saying...

^lol ask Pinkie Pie about the Mayfair Club it's her favorite club in the world...

I really didn't like either one of them to be honest, I hated them so much I feel like I can't recommend either of them, but here are the pros/cons-

Spearmint Rhino-- has rules about one girl per client, fees are much lower, have to wear a full gown and can wear lingerie on weekends, lots of tourist customers, was insanely dead with bad customers when I was there and they don't let new people in after two, get your money that night even if customers pay on a credit card

Stringfellows- has no rules whatsoever about girls jumping on your customers and you'll often be standing with ten girls and one customer, has very high fees takes flat 50% of everything including single dances even when they pay cash, have to wait till the next night until you get your money, has better customers than SR and you can never wear lingerie but can wear short dresses

audrey_k
07-21-2014, 09:42 AM
I would just give them both a try and see which one you like more, I think it's just a personal preference. I do know they both require 3 shifts a week and I don't know what happens if you don't work 3, if they fine you or just fire you. Stringfellows you just show up whenever you want and you have to work one full weekend a month. And SR you have to put in shifts but I don't think there's a requirement on days.

Oh and SR is MUCH dirtier, there is contact there it's the dirtiest club I've worked at in London.

I know a girl who worked there. I'll ask her if you want. I know she made a lot of money there but she is a blonde Barbie type with huge fake boobs

also. I will message you about working in Denmark/Germany because I took a look at your website and it seems promising.

Neither of them sounds very promising to be honest...I guess I will have to have a look around, I might take a night out and go as a customer to all of them just to get a feel.

^I really think you should try Sophisticats, as PinkiePie said (we both worked there) it's a good club with decent money. It's my favorite place I've worked in London so far and if I wasn't such an alcoholic I would have stayed there! Platinum Lace is supposed to be the best club right now of the 'super clubs' in London so it might be worth going back there to give it a shot.

If I had to say which one to go to, I would say Stringfellows, just because the customers were SO horrible at SR. I think there is money at Stringfellows, you just have to be willing to work your ass off for it and literally run for the customers, because the girls are just absolutely fucking GORGEOUS, like all 9/10s, and they are AMAZING hustlers. One of the girls who worked there came to Sophisticats and it was like the deadest night ever, everyone's barely making their house fee, and she still ended up making like 800 pounds... she just managed to find some guy and get him obsessed with her (I danced with his friend while she was talking to him) and spent 4 hours in a room with her. And he was not even a wealthy guy, he probably maxed out his whole card for her. She was the best hustler I have ever seen in my life and I would've hated her if she hadn't been one of the nicest/sweetest strippers ever.

Also, what I meant with my Mayfair comment is that I've heard like absolutely horrible things about that club!

Hi :)
I've been reading your message board for couple days now, I was brought here by my curiosity and a dream really.
I've found answers to most of my questions, yet I need to ask a couple more for UK-based girls.

Do you think it's a bad idea to be a stripper whilst doing uni? Is it fine? or is it a disaster waiting to happen?
I wouldn't be happy to relocate to London really, so I was just thinking of maybe relocating to one of other big cities like Manchester, Cambridge or Liverpool, but I don't want to move there, then find out it's dead there lol
How did auditions look like in the london clubs you girls mentioned?
I'm 22 by the way, thanks for responding, xx

You can always go and try it out before moving there...I've lived and danced in Manchester, it's not great but you can make some money and there are quite a few clubs to chose between. Liverpool is also close so you can always work in both cities.

So ladies Im coming to London to live for a few months. Instead of living off my savings for that time I'm considering dancing while im there. My question is, how strict are clubs on dancers for having the right visa? Or would it be easier to join an escorting service? Im no newbie at either, just ignorant to working outside to US.

^ I was told it could potentially be good by another girl here recently but before that had not really considered it(I am looking to audition in London soon).

I had thought it was a very stage show focussed club which is why it wasn't on my list, but I'm thinking that used to be the case and nowadays having an amazing stage show isn't as important and girls do more basic stuff. Anyone feel free to correct me on that if you know better, I am interested!

I looked at their website though and they still seem to have a lot of dancers each shift like everywhere else.

Thanks for the info tho, I really suck when it comes to competitive people and i'm quite shy which makes it worse, i wish there was a place in England where i could strip but without too much competition, but that would be asking for the impossible wouldn't it. ;D

I've worked there. It's in the heart of Soho, it's tiny and never used to be but is crammed with girls. A very international mix - a customer actually told me there "I feel guilty asking you for a dance because you're English!" - Be prepared to hustle hard, it's a very friendly bar where people will buy you drinks til the cows come home but don't get lost in partying without making money. The stage is small with a few rows of theatre style seats where guys will watch and sometimes tip you. Don't worry about the stage though as tipping isn't common in the UK, make your money from private dances.

I have two questions that i can't seem to find an answer to.

In London which clubs do day/evening shifts?

also

Which clubs/areas attract more middle eastern clientele. Lately I am having an awful lot of arabic customers and I know London has many there too, so I may as well try and make life easier on myself by going to clubs they frequent (this also will mean I don't have to lose any weight tehe!).

Sorry to ask another complete newbie question but does anyone on here currently work in Manchester? Some of the older threads mention the clubs here but not much. I've been and checked out Silks in person, but a dancer I met at a pole class told me last year that Baby Platinum or Obsessions are better places to work and I was just wondering if anyone could confirm or deny?

For making money Baby Platinum is probably the best but you get loads of girls there so you have to be quite aggressive. I have worked at Silks, it's quite nice and you don't pay any house fee unless you make 5 dances or more, and since you are new it might be a good place to start otherwise you might lose money. You could also start out in Baby Blue, it's more relaxed than Baby Platinum.

In Manchester many girls hop around from club to club, you dont have to do x amount of shifts/week like in London, you can do one week in every club and see which one you like the best, you can always come back.

^^^^ I worked in Cardiff for one night, in the fantasy lounge, this was a few years ago and it was supposed to be the place to be, it was awful, it was a Friday night and no customers (not one until gone 1am) the doors were left wide open despite being below freezing and everyone was just sat around, around 35 of us, as soon as some boyos from the valleys turned up girls were kneeling on seats watching their every move trying to get a better view of where they were heading as there was a rule that you couldn't approach a customer until they were seated and served a drink, as soon as they were sat down girls were perched on the seats on the surrounding tables ready for as soon as that drinks tray hit the table, as soon as it did they went flying at them, the boyos had no money though, they could only buy a couple of topless dances , after 3am 3.30ish I said I was leaving and the manager wanted £50 or £60 off me floor fee, I was like "hmmm you have got to be kidding, total spent on dances £30 between 30+ girls" now you want £60 from me wen we have already established I ain't coming back", he said "well we are open till 6 so it will get busier there's plenty of time" er yeah right! alot of the other girls said that the club had stopped advertising and promoting the club which is why it had gone down hill. That was my experience of Wales, more of a rant and not the same club.

I would guess that FYEO would be better, just because of how shite fantasy lounge was and FYEO is a well known chain, I also don't think in the six years I danced I ever had one good welsh customer , I don't think I even did one dance for one welsh guy!! ^I think the problem is there's just not a lot of money in Cardiff, I mean if you're going to go to Wales then Cardiff is definitely the place to be, but it's not exactly a wealthy place. Which is definitely reflected in the price of escorts there, those girls charge like 80 pounds and hour. The guys I've seen you can clearly tell this is like, a MAJOR splurge for them, whereas with London guys they just had a free afternoon, lol.

Plus there seems to be some idea among the guys there that the women in Cardiff aren't that hot. I've had a few Welsh clients and when I've asked them why they've traveled to see me from Cardiff they say there's nothing in Cardiff and if they're going to spend money the girl better be hot and no one is Cardiff is hot enough.

The cost of living is so low there though that you may be fine just making a couple hundred a shift.

Bristol was the first place I ever danced. That was in 2006 though. Urban tiger is probably the best club now but the house fees are really high. 100/120 on fri/sat.

I'm considering Bristol. Urban Tiger does have a high house fee, but if it's busy then it's worth it. In fact, I paid more when I danced in Liverpool and still made good money after fees. Any more up to date info on Urban Tiger?

Also, any current news on Temptations or Central Chambers as well? I'm just researching online and those are the only two other Bristol clubs that seem to be OK (although I'm guessing that the apparent nightclub vibe of Central Chambers might invite time wasters?).
