^^^^^ maybe without trying to sound like a stuck up bitch wales is just a place that has never thrived economically, most of the jobs there are public sector eg DVLA (it's a huge percentage), it's a place heavily subsidised by England and poorly managed by their own assembly , their NHS is dire leaving it's illest residents crossing the border to England to use our services which they haven't paid into, look at London a business capital property prices through the roof then look at their equivalent of Cardiff, no wonder they think £20 is a small fortune! It will never thrive and always leech off England!!

^I think the problem is there's just not a lot of money in Cardiff, I mean if you're going to go to Wales then Cardiff is definitely the place to be, but it's not exactly a wealthy place. Which is definitely reflected in the price of escorts there, those girls charge like 80 pounds and hour. The guys I've seen you can clearly tell this is like, a MAJOR splurge for them, whereas with London guys they just had a free afternoon, lol.
Plus there seems to be some idea among the guys there that the women in Cardiff aren't that hot. I've had a few Welsh clients and when I've asked them why they've traveled to see me from Cardiff they say there's nothing in Cardiff and if they're going to spend money the girl better be hot and no one is Cardiff is hot enough.
The cost of living is so low there though that you may be fine just making a couple hundred a shift.
You see, that's what you'd think. But I can tell that the last 'bad' nights (and tonight there were quite a few sit downs which irritated me because like half the girls weren't making anything but some girls were making loads) that people are willing to spend hundreds on VIPs and stuff. I know that on a normal weekend you can make £300+. I don't know why Cardiff escorts are charging so low when guys in the club are willing/happy to pay £80 for a 15 minute dance/VIP in the club. If you are a good hustler (and I will openly admit that I'm not) then you can do very well here.
Regarding the girls, most of the girls I'm working with aren't even from Cardiff!

I also learned tonight that a lot of girls do "naughty forty" dances which I thought you could only really get away with in London! Apparently a lot of guys are willing to spend that. Most of the dances I did tonight actually the guys paid more without me even asking for it. I'm going to try and overcharge more and see if I can get it away with it.

^yeah, I don't know if you've danced out of London in the UK but it's a totally different hustle, you just have to try and rip them off as much as possible, promise whatever and up how much you charge. I hate working like that but you've got to do it!
They're charging a low amount because it's honestly just not an economically thriving place... when I was in Bristol and Bath I had a few guys travel over to see me from Wales, but like I said, this was a BIG deal for them. They're willing to splurge every now and then but it's not something they're going to do every week or every month even. The Welsh are really lovely people though!
I'm considering Bristol. Urban Tiger does have a high house fee, but if it's busy then it's worth it. In fact, I paid more when I danced in Liverpool and still made good money after fees. Any more up to date info on Urban Tiger?
Also, any current news on Temptations or Central Chambers as well? I'm just researching online and those are the only two other Bristol clubs that seem to be OK (although I'm guessing that the apparent nightclub vibe of Central Chambers might invite time wasters?).
I didn't dance in Bristol, but I made a fucking shit ton of money escorting there! My phone was ringing off the hook all weekend they were booking LONG meetings so there must be horny guys looking to spend!

I don't know about the whole ripping guys off thing regarding overcharging but girls definitely don't promise them anything. I talked to my friends and they said shit would go down if you promised guys stuff, even things like touching.
But to be really honest, when I worked in Magaluf and Ibiza it was definitely ripping people off all the time (esp maga) and even though I'm going to sound like a bitch it doesn't really bother me anymore. :O
Also I'm really surprised because like half the customers who come in aren't even Welsh or are Welsh but don't live there. It's kinda weird. :/

Hmmm I don't know about promising them stuff then not delivering it, I never worked in london(I danced 6 years) but as far as making promises I would say stuff like "it will be worth every penny and more", "I'm going to have my wicked way with you" was my most common line I used all the time! It worked so well. I know there was a bust up in my club, one girl took a guy to VIP and afterwards he went mental saying she promised to sleep with him then just done a few dances in VIP, it transpired that even though the house mom hated this girl she had been there while the transaction took place and over heard her not promising to sleep with him but telling him "I will make all your Christmases come at once"(it was the week before Xmas) ha ha ha that was a good one. Any girl caught saying stuff like "we can have sex" or " i will give you a bj" then simply not doing it was always sacked though if reported plus any money would be refunded.

From what I have heard there is money in that club, I have friends that have worked there recent, I wouldn't judge any club on bank holiday weekend because most places are not as good, I hop it gets better for you.

I'm kinda pissed off because I did really shit tonight but it was my own fucking fault! Most of the girls made a few hundred. I'm going to try Playhouse tomorrow and Monday to see if I can make up for it and then go back to FYEO from Wednesday as they're only open from then.

I feel kinda bad that you guys are slagging off Wales. :( lol (It's probably because I have a soft spot for Welsh people/men :o)
It is definitely not the kind of place where it's VIPs and big spenders all the time (although last night a big spender did come in and spend over 2 grand on two girls) but the place is busy and most of the guys who come in are willing to part with £20 for a dance, or sometimes even £30 or £40. I mean all you have to do is do 10-15 dances to make it worth your time pretty much. The 15 minute VIPs are quite easy to sell as well.

Hopefully it will get better, I know its very good when rugby is on, don't worry about what other people think, I made the most money in the Uk outside of London and have not done a upscale place for years in the Uk, I know it was good there last winter too, In fantasy louge and FYEO.

Does anyone know of any sporting events, trade fairs etc. That are worth travelling for?? I would also be willing to travel to europe if it was worthwhile.
I worked in Doncaster for the St . ledger horse racing week a couple of times and I would say its not worth travelling for unless you are already in that part of the country.

I have heard on the rugby weekends here in Cardiff that it's amazing. They raise the housefee to a flat fee of £150, but that should also reflect on the earnings I guess. The next rugby weekend is in November I think though.

I'm not talking about promising extras /:O I'm talking about saying "well it's twenty pounds for the regular dance, but the reeeeally dirty dance is 40 pounds so you want to go for that don't you?" and then taking them back there and saying "well for another twenty pounds you get an even filthier dance and you get a VIP, so you want that don't you?" and it's same the fucking dance no matter how much they pay you. That's been the way it's worked in all the clubs I've been in outside of London. I'm HORRIBLE at that hustle just because everywhere I've worked the prices are completely set so overcharging just feels really strange to me, but that's how all the girls I've seen bank have done it.
Newb, no one is slagging Wales-- I've said a couple times now that my Welsh customers were lovely people, I have no problem with the Welsh, I just don't find them to be terribly reliable as regular customers, but I've seen plenty of Englishmen who wouldn't be reliable, either! But it's a basic fact that the economy in Wales is not that great. But you have to take into consideration the cost of living, I mean when I've danced outside of London and girls have made 200 pounds they're jumping up and down because that's half the rent of their one bedroom flat, whereas 200 pounds to me is not even a fourth of the rent for the ROOM I rent in a shitty central London flat. I find the economy in the UK very strange but that's a whole other rant right there. So maybe making 100 pounds a shift will be fine for you. You have to do what you want. And if you're happy living in Cardiff, then I'm sure you'll be happy. Honestly, I hate dancing in London and that's why I haven't stepped foot in a London strip club since May. If there was anywhere else in the UK I could deal with living I would go there, nowhere is amazing for dancing in this country unfortunately, American strip clubs are just a much easier place to make money!
I'm also just a money-hungry bitch, seriously I have a problem when it comes to making money, nothing is ever enough :-[

I danced in the Fantasy Lounge for one weekend years ago. It was ok, made a couple of hundred each night, house fee was low, had no other overheads to pay for so couldn't complain. Not sure in these economic times it'd be a great place to work, though where really is these days?

Where did you work in London?
I would've loved to have been able to get away with that but would have been fired or just not gotten away with it because no one was doing it. The closest I had was one club charged £15 a dance and you could usually get £20. Asking for tips or more for long VIPs yeah, but not single dances.
I miss dancing but them I read this thread and it reminds me why I stopped...

I danced at Secrets. In Hammersmith they were fine with you overcharging you just had to tell them so they could take the right commission (obviously no one did) and in Euston we'd overcharge but the girls said not to tell the housemum.

I'm retired now but this thread is super depressing, I started dancing not long before the recession started and things stayed good for a while, then I noticed so many girls leaving because it wasn't worth their time/was too hard wok, still i found a club an hour away travelled I strived to be top earner every night there and raked in money carried on for four years like that, but then it got depressing fewer and fewer customers came in, my club started letting dogs work and standards slipped, my husband started a business so I happily skipped off to work for him, dancing made me a super grafter and with no experience/qualifications in another job i had my escape. could I ever go back dancing now? Erm no, shortly after i left my old club has slashed prices, made it a rule that girls must stay by the bar unless they are with a customer(a good rule you may think, but when there are four bar stools, 15+ girls and you could be waiting an hour plus for a customer to arrive to a sea of girls with nothing to do looking desperate, not so good) and fine yes fine them for standing with the same customer/ area too long! They pay a two for one jingle all night(usually a ploy to convince a cheap customer to get a dance not anymore) and have upped commission and floor fees yet again! When I ask old dancer friends how its going they are vague, especially the ones trapped with no job prospects or debts, its better than not working or working no end of hours in a minimum wage job but I know they are struggling. I really do wish all the dancers on this thread good fortune, it sadly seems so many here are looking for that one club with consistent half decent money, perhaps enough to get by, save some and the odd treat, unfortunately it seems though that now the recession has kicked in clubs are taking it out of the dancers by shoving on too many girls and charging huge floor fees, lets not get hung up on the different ploys of how to get a dance "naughty forty etc" and whether or not it woks in London, just try anything to get money that works. It is sad for me even though I no longer dance(wouldn't have time anyway) because i always wanted to be a stripper from when i saw a programme on it aged around 12/13 (sorry it sounds weird) and when i started i imagined i would always want to go back for one more day, but now that could mean a loss!Good luck everyone.

I will go up to Manchester myself in a couple of weeks and after that I will be able to give a little update! I am sure you can make some money if you go but it's always a hit or miss.

I saw on another dancer website, a doncaster club advertising for girls to come work there for a yorkshire race weekend from the 10th-13th Of september. I was wondering if this was legit or not, if anyone wants the link just pm me as Im not sure if I'm allowed to post it or not.
The club is called bentley's club and supposedly one should expect min 500 a night every night that weekend (sounds wee bit suss but i have no clues)
Anyone know anything about it?

^^^^^^^ noooooo don't do it! It's an old ploy, "good dancers can earn x amount if they want to" before they ram on as many girls as they can with their grubby little mitts outstretched for floor fees meanwhile bragging about having so many girls working! Would be described as a scam if it didn't involve lapdancing!

Hey! I just wanted to give a little update about Manchester. I went this weekend, I only went into work Saturday night at Baby Blue and it was A-W-F-U-L. It was dead as in only 1 customer until 2AM, at 2AM there came in 2 groups of really young guys that were hanging around the pool table, not really interested in the dancers. (By that time I was already leaving.) Lots of girls just sitting and waiting (since 9PM...). Very depressing! I spoke to the girls and basically they were saying that if you make anything over £100 you should consider yourself lucky. I went home with nothing at 2AM and my friend who stayed until the end made £100 and she said she was lucky. There was boxing in town and a football game the following day and it was still DEAD! DONT GO THERE!!! I was supposed to go Sunday as well but I really couldnt be bothered.
They have opened a new club in Wigan and some girls had been and it was apparently good. On Saturday they were begging girls to go there saying there were only 6 dancers and 50 customers (could be a lie). If I was in the area I would still give that club a go, but as for Manchester, too many clubs, too many dancers, there will be some lucky nights but the night is mostly about sitting and waiting for someone to walk in and then be quick enough to get there before the other girls...
As for the strictly no-touch policy, they had to be really strict for 2 weeks a while back and now its back to normal, its relaxed, you can sit on the customer etc. NOT like London, you get away with A LOT more.

Hmmm about Wigan probably a lie, new clubs tend to exaggerate how busy they are and how they are struggling fr dancers because they want tons of girs and to build a reputation of being the place to be, Wigan is super small, I can't imagine their club being packed out. I have been to a couple of new clubs in desperate need of girls in years gone by only to spend the night giving out leaflets trying to drag people in, it's especially depressing in small towns where there is no nightlife and no one on the streets! Still when they close down they can use the old "couldn't get the dancers" line, instead of the couldn't attract customers so all the dancers left reality!

Not to disagree but it depends whether its girls who worked and actually saw that (dont know why they woud actively encourage more dancers to come and compete with them) or girls who have been told this by other girls (who wan rid of them from their turf perhaps, in my main club I worked most of my dancing years in and always was a top earner I constantly had competition, 2 main girls telling me to go try here and there when I knew the clubs recommended were hard work) or girls who have been told that by management and blindly repeat what they hear as fact. Bear in mind too the club in Wigan e mailed me asking me to work, I haven't danced for 18 months and previous to that stayed at one club three years, they must be emailing thousands of girls all desperate for somewhere to make money.

Yeah, I'm not sure how hard it is to get hired because it's different for me being American. I remember it was a really nerve-racking audition and I was SO sure I wasn't going to get hired because I was in the middle of pulling myself upside down on the pole and the male manager was like "ok stop" and I got so nervous I thought he meant stop right then and I almost dropped off the pole and they all gasped (I was fine).
The energy was just so horrible in there, the girls are REALLY bitchy and so are the house mums and managers... and it's the only place I've worked in London where the girls are allowed to steal customers right out from under your nose, like you could be having a conversation with someone and a girl will come up and wrap her arms around him and start flirting with him, and when customers come in, it's like 10 girls to a guy just sitting here staring at them. But this was like the second week or something I was in London though so I know I wasn't feeling very settled/confident to begin with! I worked with a girl at Sophisticats who worked there for 5 years and she loved it, she said it just took her about 6 months to start making money but once she did she had great nights, 1,000+. But that's just sort of how it seems to work in London, you either do REALLY well or REALLY shitty cause she also said there were nights she forgot to bring cab fare and had to take the bus home.. I kind of want to go back in the fall just to see if I do better but I left on good terms with them last time so I don't want to fuck it up by just going once.
