Hey. I might be completely stupid but i've tried at least 10 links to your site (the one in your signature, the ones in your posts) and they never work, it always takes me to "this web page is not available". This has been happening ever since I joined SW and first saw this thread and others about CamConcierge, the site has never worked for me. I'm in England if that makes a difference.

Yeah we're having issues with our firewall blocking some people in other countries besides the US and Cananda. It shouldn't be blocking people in England, but it does sometimes. We're currently hosting it on our home server and I realized that that option is no longer working so I'm going to be moving it to a paid hosting plan very soon. I'm just working out the logistics of moving the forums. If you want to access the site in the mean time, you can PM me with your IP address and I can add you to the white list, but I completely understand if you don't want to do that. Just know that it should be accessible to everyone within a month at the most. I'm hoping to do the switch very soon, I'm just working out some details at the moment. I'm sorry for the issues in the mean time :(

I do a lot of Skype shows and i've had attempted hacks before so I use a VPN now which changes my IP every 30 minutes. I'll just wait, no worries at all :)

Ahh yeah, my boyfriend (who is the server admin) said the issue may be people using a VPN. I've gotten blocked from sites before because of that. I'll update here once the site is moved over.

Important Update:

I've FINALLY decided on a new forum software, so I feel like I can go ahead and get this merge started. The CamConcierge site and forums will be experiencing a lot of down time for the remainder of the week but I'm hoping to at least have the new and improved forums up and running by this weekend (fingers crossed). I've never merged a forum or moved it to a new server before so hopefully everything goes smoothly.

I'll probably keep the main site in "coming soon" mode longer than the forums as it's not just getting a redesign, it's getting a complete overhaul, so I'm not sure when that part of the site will be back up. But the forums is the part of the site that gets the most use anyways so hopefully that won't be an issue.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT EMAILS
A server change also means a change in email provider, so any emails to admin at camconcierge dot com might get lost during the switchover. If I don't respond to an email for a while, please feel free to PM me here.

I guess I ought to update here since I mentioned it in another thread. This server move is not going as expected.

Here's the long story with all the details if anyone's interested or may need some advice about web hosting:
I host on Arvixe and I upgraded to a Personal Class Pro account a while back. This upgraded the amount of domains I could host from 6 to unlimited. I thought "Awesome! I can host ALL THE SITES!" Well, turns out there's no such thing as unlimited when it comes to shared hosting, and some hosting providers oversell their hosting more than others. Rule of thumb here, if the hosting is inexpensive, they're probably overselling. So what this meant for me was that when I tried to move my forums, I got what's called the "white screen of death" which means that I'm using budget hosting that can't handle all the PHP functions required to run the forums. I used to recommend Arvixe all the time, but I'm coming to learn that they suck. Their customer support is just so-so (I've dealt with them on behalf of my web design clients many times), their servers are slow as hell (probably due to the overselling of their shared hosting), and now they've stopped offering free private WHOIS registration (now it's $9.99 a year, which doubles the price of domain registration). I'll probably switch to DreamHost when my Arvixe hosting expires but for now, I can't afford it and I certainly can't afford a dedicated server. You may be wondering why I would even switch to paid hosting when I had it hosted on my very own server at home. Well, if you've been keeping up with this thread, you may know that I was having issues with that. For one thing, the server goes down if we have a power outage or it gets too hot (I live in California, it gets pretty damn hot). Also, it's got a firewall that my boyfriend (server admin) keeps in place to keep our home network safe, and it wasn't allowing people using VPN's or proxies to view my site and I know a lot of you use those, myself included. Also, hosting my site on a home server left me vulnerable to other personal security issues that I won't mention here for security reasons. So there you have it, each hosting option that I have the funds for has its own set of issues.

Now I would have had all this figured out sooner, but I've had an awful stomach flu for the past week and couldn't really think straight and my boyfriend has had to practically physically remove me from the computer to keep me from losing my mind. I've come to the conclusion that all the hassle and financial burden that I would have to take on in order to run this project probably doesn't even make sense when the forums were hardly being used at all. An awesome friend who never fails to give it to me straight mentioned that there really isn't any sort of need for the model side of CamConcierge nor the forums. We've got SW for everything and ACF if cam models want to interact with customers. Also there's WeCamgirls. So I've let my need for organization cloud the fact that people are gonna wanna be where the people are (cue Little Mermaid song). Sure, StripperWeb only has one board for camgirls, plus the various groups, and the camboys only have one thread in Industry Insight, but it's workable and maybe that can change someday.

Here's the tl;dr long story short:
Basically I just don't think there's a need for Cam Concierge and I'm not sure if there ever was. If anyone doesn't agree, I'll be more than happy to try to get the site back up and running, but it's going to have to wait until I have the funds for it. Or if y'all want me to start a crowdfunding thing for it I could be open to that. But y'all gotta promise to actually use the site if I do ;)

I'm even debating on if it's worth it to continue with the project of bringing new and improved model listings to the customer side. There's already many listing sites out there so I may just drop that too. Or at least take a break with it to focus on my health for a while as I'm dealing with many issues other than just financial.

And as always, I'm open to suggestions and discussions. My apologies for the super long, drawn out, and perhaps TMI post but I sorta needed to vent about it and put it all out there what I've been dealing with. And I also hope my experiences might be a learning tool for others.

Side note regarding email
The admin at camconcierge dot com email is back up at the new server so emails to it shouldn't get lost anymore.

Side note about the toy store wish list
The toy store affiliate that I've been using for my toy store white label switched over to a new framework a while ago. I've kept the CC toy store under the old framework for as long as possible because the new one didn't support the wish list service that I had been advertising. Well, it now looks like they've forced me over to the new system, so I don't think the wishlists are working anymore. Also, for some reason, my subdomain for it is no longer working at all. If anyone was using the Cam Concierge Toy Store Wish List and wants to continue using it, please let me know and I'll look into it further and raise a stink with their support department, but if nobody was using it I'm just gonna forget about it.

Actually, Tsani, I am sad to see Cam Concierge go :( It was a fun little forum that I was glad to be apart of :) Personally, I enjoyed the virtual escorting forum because I put down tons of information. But you made the best decision for your health :) Thank you, Tsani.

You're so sweet, Dona, and I know you were one of the biggest contributors to the forums and I thank you for that.

Well, some new info has come to light and Cam Concierge might not be going away after all. But it is still going to be some time before everything is back up and running. I need to take a short break to get my health back up to par. And then I need to get everything redesigned and the new features implemented. Once all that's done, I think I'll start a new thread for the grand re-opening because it will pretty much be two whole new sites and look nothing like what this all started out as.

I'll keep everyone posted.

The forums are back up! Thanks so much to everyone who expressed to me that you would like for them to come back.

Also, the model listings have been moved to the new site: FindMyCamModel.com

Forums are at CamConcierge.com/forums

I switched to a new forum software and all the user accounts ported over nicely, but if you used social login before (logging in with your twitter or google, etc. account), you'll have to use the "forgot password" option and create a password. Sorry for the inconvenience, but the new forums don't support social logins.

Also, everything's now on a new server, so if you weren't able to access it before, (country blocks or using a VPN) try it again!

I'll also create a new thread about FMCM just to keep the info and discussion about the two sites separate.

I updated the OP to keep it current.
