Unless you've seen behavior repeatedly, you can only point out that she was drunk.

You'd think that the club manager would point her to a cab to take her home, but there's money involved.

I have to say, people are coming down awfully hard on the OP here. She stated the dancer was rude and demanding; we have no reason to doubt her. Her one rude retort is suddenly reason for people here to question the validity of her stripping past or calling her a cheapskate..? What's THAT about? Even throwing comments in like "over a $12 drink" - um, what club do YOU go to where a Long Island is $12, LMAO - at the classier clubs around here, that's almost $50. If a dancer sat at my table and DEMANDED a Long Island before we even started talking, I would react pretty close to the same way the OP did!

^I think it's because the rude comment that she chose to make totally feeds into the stereotype that strippers are all drugs addicts and alcoholics. I stumbled in my heels last week and this guy told me to lay off drinking, I had not been drinking (it was 2pm for god's sake) and I got really annoyed and snapped at him. So many customers, and people in general, assume if you're dancing you must be totally f-ed up and it's really insulting, degrading, and just plain fucking annoying. She touched a nerve with that comment and if she was really dancer she would get that. Granted, I do drink at work in general, but I am always watching my drinking and I'm certainly not an alcoholic, nor do I use drugs of any sort, I don't even smoke weed (or really drink if I'm not at work).

And then, on top of feeding into a total bullshit stereotype, she decided to get on her judgmental high horse and explain to all of us dancers, who drink, that we suck and are doing something wrong. Which is just not cool.

And $50 for a long island? You have to be joking. I think that's just Vegas! I have NEVER seen a $50 cocktail unless it was made with like some special kind of Vodka/Bourdon. Admitedly I don't drink long islands so I'm no expert on them, but I always order a cocktail whenever I go out (usually a martini) and on average they're between $10-16. Even in LA the most expensive drink I've ever ordered was like $25, and that was at a premium club that had a $100 cover, not a strip club.

I live in Las Vegas and I've never heard of a $50 Long Island. I'm wondering which club charges that much.

I'm also curious about which strip club in Vegas is charging $50 for a Long Island, if for nothing else than so I know which club to avoid the next time I'm in Vegas. ;)

I might expect that type of reaction from a newbie customer, but not from the likes of a girl who has danced in a strip club and bartends in another, nor from a guy who's wife works in one and who hangs out in others. As the old expression goes, act like you've been there before. So she hustled you for a drink. And? Why is this so novel and shocking? What's next, screeching at her for being a con artist if she tries to sell you an overpriced CR?

Seriously now, loud histrionics are not necessary just to say no to a dancer, even if she was rude in hustling for what she wants. You're better than that. I can think of plenty of ways that this could have been handled simply and cleanly, none of which involve losing my mind and getting downright nasty with her.

And since I was trying to avoid piling on before, I refrained from pointing out what occurred to me at the time of the original post, which was that the girl who demanded the Long Island was deemed to be an alcoholic, but the one who polished off a whole pitcher of beer with the OP was a perfectly fine human being. ;)

Anyway, just my :twocents:

LOL, yeah, dancers should absolutely never drink on the job, unless they're drinking beer with the OP because she's just that special. LMAO

Marvel - we get a discount as locals, usually somewhere around 50%, some clubs even offer "$5 locals drinks" for any drink. Last time I was at CH3, non-locals were paying $16 for a rum & coke. Hell, a COKE is $8. Maybe I went a little far at $50, but you aren't getting a Long Island for $12 at any strip club in this town unless it's on a Tuesday night special somewhere.

Regardless - while the OP reacted a bit strongly, I think the reactions in this thread coming down on her are too harsh.

I go out with friends who aren't locals when they visit all the time. I've never seen a $50 drink anywhere unless you're talking about one of those fishbowl size drinks intended for four people.

I think you went more than a little far with that estimate. There's a far cry from a $16 drink to a $50 drink. Yeah, I've seen around $27 and thought, how fucking ridiculous but $50? No.

SO I actually researched it. I was def shooting high, but it's still outrageous. At Sapphire or CH3, a non-local on a Friday night is gonna pay between $32 and $40 for a Long Island.
