I am recovering from surgery after having a kidney removed. I had been very poorly for about a year. My remaining kidney is not doing to well and makes me very very tired and makes my face swollen. The scars are healing nicely and can be hidden with make up but I am very uncomfortable getting completely naked.
I know I am heading down the road of a transplant at some stage in the future so making the best of the time I have on cam.
At my post op check the surgeon informed me of a degenerative spine disease I have but never knew about as doctors always put my pain down to kidney. But now I am on the right meds, nearly pain free. It's just going to take me a little while to find my new normal, but find it I will.

At first I was put on, tramadol, ibuprofen, paracetamol , diazepam , omeprazole. All taken 4 times a day except omeprazole and diazepam, that's just the morning but the ibuprofen was pushing my remaining kidney into failure and it wasn't making much difference with pain. So I was then out on Gabapentin, which you take for a week alongside the above meds as it builds up in your system, then week 2 increase the Gabapentin and stop the others.
My spine issue is mostly in my neck, compressed cervical nerve. Pain is in arm, fingers and shoulder though not my neck. Been offered surgery but the risks are not worth it at all. Am using the meds and having specialist massages and don't laugh but I sleep with a neck brace to keep neck straight. Works though but a passion killer lol.

Thank You very much for your quick response. The cervical area is where my degenerative problem is also. I was given ibuprofen 800 mgs for the pain, and headaches it causes. I wore a brace from age 12-18, (for scoliosis),so i wouldn't laugh at that.
I get numbness in my fingers also.
I will ask my Dr. About the other meds you mentioned, because im not going to have surgery either.

Can I join this? I just dance for now, but I did cam at one point and may return to it if my health issues get worse.
Some background on me: I had a rough past growing up. Parents went through multiple divorces, neither of them were the most sane or normal people to say the least. Always angry and yelling and crazy punishments. My dad believed heat was a privilege I didn't deserve since I didn't pay the bills so I grew up getting yelled at everyday and coming home from school to a house that was 35-50 degrees in the winter. I started feeling ill, exhausted, and off as a preteen but was dismissed as crazy and just depressed by my parents and doctors. Developed bags under my eyes at around 14 which never went away and people at school bullied me assuming I was on drugs. Over my teen years I developed an array of issues hypoglycemia, insomnia, digestive issues, major fatigue, hair loss, irregular periods, was cold all the time, severe acne, muscle pain, memory problems etc. I knew something wasn't right, but no doctor or person ever took me seriously, it was just part of being a teen. At 20 a dermatologist prescribed me birth control for my acne. Which did get rid of my acne, but also I believe really screwed up my body. I would throw up a lot on it, I got strep and pink eye.
After awhile I couldn't take it anymore, since then though my digestion has been terrible. I finally gave up on allopathic medicine then and went to see a naturapathic doctor. She did some tests found I had an abnormal ANA with antibodies for mixed connective tissue disease (though not actually have enough to have this disease), genetic mutations the MTHFR one which means I detox very poorly, inflammation, bad bacteria and candida overgrowth all in my gut, lyme disease and adrenal fatigue/low cortisol levels, which explains my reversed sleep cycles and insomnia.
I did push myself through college. Luckily I could take late classes and space everything out so I could rest a lot, and I did have some part time jobs, but I would always screw something up with being tired and out of it and the managers were not kind at all about it. I would get yelled at and criticized a lot which took a huge toll on me especially with everything I'd already been through and was dealing with. They would cut my shifts and I was hardly scraping by on money. After college I worked part time at a sub shop and as a research assistant part time. Even trying my hardest I wasn't great at those jobs, got criticized for my "lack of motivation" and oversights often. Long story short both fired me in the same week and being out of it I scratched someone's car. The woman agreed to not go through insurance as long as I got her money. Which I didn't have. The first thing that came to mind was stripping. I was terrified I'd never been to a strip club before but decided I'd just do it for a week or two get her the money and never look back. So I tried it out. I was amazed by it. It was totally different than any other job for the better. Instead of getting criticized I'd get called cute and sweet and I could get paid just to sit and chill with guys and make way more than I ever did with any other job. I could afford to not have to live off the dollar menu at mcdonalds for once, which certainly was not helping my health issues lol.
But unfortunately my lease at my apt ended and I had to move back with my dad and his new girlfriend. My dad was furious I didn't have a full time job yet. But at that point I couldn't even imagine working a full time job. Stripping was the only thing that worked for me allowed me to sleep in and not have a constant schedule or tons of tasks which god forbid I couldn't meet I would be fired and I finally had extra money to take care of my health. I did manage to get hired back at the same sub company this one in a different location. I worked there part time, but was determined to get enough to move out so I started secretly web camming in my room after working making no noise for extra money. I never made that much though a really good day would be 100-200 bucks which was still better than the sub shop so I stuck with it a little while. Except then winter came around and my dad of course didn't use heat and I couldn't bear to sit there in my underwear or be in the house at all so I decided to just go back to dancing and wear my sub shop clothes to the club. Eventually my dad found out and lost it worse than ever but since I had some money than I took what I had and ran.
Unfortunately since then my dad made sure all our extended family and few friends I had from college found out I was a stripper. My best friend from college uninvited me from her wedding I was supposed to be a bridesmaid in and I now have no friends, but of course as my dad said it's only reasonable "decent people will shun me" because of I'm a crazy stripper and "hypochondriac."
Luckily now I have a club I work at where I make better money than I could have ever imagined, don't have to have a schedule and can come and go as I please. Meaning I get to sleep in and take off whenever I want no questions asked. And I don't have to dance on stage very often since there are so many girls there. Also if I forgot a customer which I do very often because of my awful memory I won't get fired and can usually laugh it off or at least move on to the next. However it's not all good. I still have bags around my eyes all the time and have other dancers and customers label me a drug addict from time to time, even though I'm not. Also I've realized unfortunately money doesn't fix everything. I've wasted thousands on treatments I hoped would make me better which didn't. It's funny how I can put on makeup and hair extensions and padded colorful bras and customers think I'm a healthy young woman with the world at my feet, when really all I do sleep and dance.
I'm terrified of what I'm gonna do when I get too old to dance/cam or when I get out of my 20's. Right now I'm 24. I wish I had started at 18 so I could've saved more, but I was too scared. Anyone have any suggestions for easy vanilla jobs or careers to pursue?

I know I'm on the bipolar spectrum, but the symptoms have been getting worse and more radical. The three options were: thyroid, hormones or this is just the way it's gonna be forever from now on. Seeing as I'm in my 20s and my thyroid is fine, there's a chance my mood disorder is just "maturing" into BP1 or BP2. :(

If you have a TSH above 1.5 you could have a thyroid problem despite what your doctor says. Mine is 2.58 and they don't recognize that as a problem but I sure do have a thyroid problem.. I had a TON of symptoms so I started taking a thyroid supplement and all of it went away and I do mean ALL of it.. including mental disturbances. It is what is called subclinical hypothyroidism .. still within range and they consider it normal but it's definitely NOT optimal.. and can make you feel like your TSH is more like 102! So I wouldn't rule it out if I were you. I take Enzymatic Therapy Metabolic Advantage if you want to give it a try.. the results are almost immediate!

Girls, I'm so glad I found this thread. I honestly thought that I was the only one going through terrible anxiety/depression. I look at models online and everyone seems to have it together and seems so happy. I had no idea some of you were struggling with similar issues as me.
I couldn't work one day this week because of crippling depression. I'm also going through something that gives me anxiety 24/7. I also have chronic back pain.
I'm so grateful that you girls have posted your stories. Hugs to each and every one of you.

You're definitely not the only one... sometimes it helps me to smile and joke around... I actually find I can forget about things for a little while. The last few days i have been having severe panic attacks on and off and they dont seem to want to subside. It makes it so hard to work and perform while they just come on out of the blue for no reason in the middle of shows. I literally logged off last night and cried because they have been so horrible. I will go sometimes months without one then all of a sudden i have them every single day for awhile. They are so unpredictable i hate that. Even though ive had them most of my life, you never seem to get used to them when they come on feels like the first time experiencing it but after a few mins i can start trying to calm myself down, just is so scary when they happen. It literally is draining my energy, and sometimes when they are so bad it wears me out to the point i just fall asleep during them if im laying down. Hope they ease up and go away for a bit.

The unpredictable anxiety attacks are the worse. I get them also, for no apparent reason.
You might want to try L-Thianine tabs. I pop 2 when I have to leave the house. Or in Your case, before You cam. They seem to work 100% of the time.
Feel better Chelly. Big hugs.:grouphug:

My freaking vertigo is back with a vengeance. I hate having vestibular issues (dxed with an inner ear infection back in May which damaged the balance nerve of my left ear) I just had 4 amazing weeks where I felt like 95% normal and then BOOM, now I'm on Day 6 of the spins, tinnitus and exhaustion. It makes me so depressed and so fearful that I will be like this for the rest of my life! Plus, I can't work when I'm spinning and lord knows I need $$ right now. Sigh. I'm trying to take it day by day (or more realistically hour by hour). The anxiety is unreal. Thanks for letting me vent. Hugs to all.

I don't know if this will be any help to you at all because I have no idea why it works for me but when I get the spins from an ear infection I find that anti-nausea medicine helps to stop the spins from completely leaving me bed-ridden.
I've got my fingers crossed that you'll find something the help you soon. I've been there and it royally sucks. <3

OK, that's it. My depression is creeping again and camming is doing me no good at all. When I'm logged on for six hours and can make as little $10 and am genuinely considering going outside my comfort zones to make money because the lack of cash is wrecking my self-esteem and I need to feel good... it's just not worth it. Vanilla work is steady so far and I'll try and pull a shift whenever I'm free, but I need some me-time pronto, before I have another meltdown. I'll be back when the cunts have money for me again.

I'm sorry to hear this....my friend has suffered with vertigo and found relief with the 'Epley Maneuver'.
Please check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4S4CbuN6QA
She utilised a neck brace like in the video and reported how effective it was. It took her about a week for symptoms to subside.
She further found that camomile tea with guided relaxation reduced the tinnitus. While, she continues to sleep to soft nature sounds nightly.
I hope you find some peace and the symptoms subside, Take care

You girls are so amazing. I like coming to this thread because it shows how human we are.
For panic attacks, do this: breathe in through your nose for a count of 4. Hold for a count of 4. Release through your mouth for a count of 8. Do that for about 2 minutes.
For the vertigo, there are lavender drops that you can buy from CVS. They are for vertigo. Dab a couple of drops behind each earlobe.
I suffer with terrible anxiety. It's a struggle to go online some days. We are amazing for pushing through. Our job is NOT easy. We have to deal with pretty tough shit. We always have to be on guard. It's stressful.

I had the worst anxiety Wednesday. I had a camathon that had been planned for almost a week and, while I did it, I had this horrible anxiety grow. There's one med I'm on just daily for maintenance and one for when my anxiety gets bad and I'm about to crack. I use the second very sparingly, cuz I only get so many- but technically I can take it twenty times a month. Plus, one of my cats was really lethargic and not eating, I scheduled a vet visit and was so worried about her. She's fine now btw :) so when I finally took the stupid pill, It took forever to work and I could barely get through my shift cuz I was so emotionally and physically exhausted. That was Wednesday and I'm still recovering mentally and physically. I so shouldn't have put off taking it and I sure as Hell wasn't gonna cut my shift short, cuz I refuse to lose out on money. Fuck, that was stupid.

Thanks so much for the info, i really should try that before getting pissed off or when im getting stressed. I bet it will help tremendously. I know it sounds dumb but i never really did the breathing exercizes when i was stressed or angry just during my panic attacks. Im going to see how this does for me all around. Thanks ladies.

Yoga, in particular yoga inversions, like 'shoulder stand' are really beneficial for anxiety and depression. Even if you can't physically do the full pose, you can lie on your back facing a wall with your buttocks touching the wall and your legs straight up on the wall. Whilst in this pose focus on your breath cycle. Shiva Rea is one of my favourite yoga instructors, her voice is so calming and she focuses on relaxation and meditation throughout her practice.
The four part breath as previously spoken about in this thread is fantastic. My favourite though is 'alternate nostril breathing' - as it immediately reduces heart rate and distracts from negative thought patterns. With one finger close off the right nostril and then inhale slowly X5 through the left, pause for X1 count and then close the left nostril and exhale X5 through the right nostril. Then inhale through the right nostril and repeat the process for 10 cycles, ending with X5 exhales out the left nostril. In time you can gradually extend the count of each inhale and exhale.
Another effective strategy is meditation and guided relaxation, in the form of progressive muscle relaxation. There are some fantastic CD's on the market and even on utube. I find I can always relax more deeply when I have auditory stimulation as it makes me completely focus on the persons voice without allowing my mind to wander to other thoughts and activities. Muscle relaxation is beneficial in improving the functioning of the parasympathetic nervous system.
Anyway, I hope that these strategies may be helpful to someone who is experiencing anxiety or mood disturbances. Take care :)

I've got to be one of the weirdest people in the world because breathing exercises actually *increase* my anxiety instead of reduce it.
I have had some luck with using the tapping technique. I'd probably have even more luck with it if I'd just remember that it is something I can do to help calm myself down when I am stressed. I never remember till long after the fact. (sighs)

I have to research tapping. My therapist highly recommends it!! There are also great apps out there. I have one on my phone for panic. I listen to it when I'm freaking out. It's a woman reassuring you repeatedly that you're going to be ok. It's temporary. It's great!

I tried the tapping once awhile ago, forgot about it until you mentioned it justanothercamgirl and i felt pretty calm after but havent done it during a full blown one yet. Might have to try it again sometime when i feel one coming on and see if it helps.

Wanted to share something I just found. I might try this. Was in a dollar store today, was fine, until I was in line at the checkout.
When the line behind me started to fill up, and the cashier was hella slow, I could feel my entire body get weak, and my heart started pounding.
It was sooo hot in there also, which sadly brings on panic attacks.
the only reason I went to this particular store is that it had reviews on yelp that mostly seniors go there. No such luck.
The place was filled with families and screaming kids. Arghh!:'(

Sorry you had to go through that ive been there myself so know how frightening that can be, makes you just want to run out of the store. I dont know about others but i have noticed that sometimes certain stores like walmart or best buy with their lighting sets off my attacks sometimes, does that happen with anyone else? Strange..but walmart is one of the worst to do that to me.. i have on many occasions left everything and took off out of store sometimes cant deal with it during them when they come on bad makes me feel like im going to pass out so i just leave in middle of shopping.
Thanks for sharing the info glamourmilf, i appreciate it. Hope you feel better.

The lighting! Yes! OMG yes! I read about that being a trigger to anxiety. I've tried wearing sunglasses, a visor/hat, but nothing helps.
The music playing throughout the store can set me off too.
I had to go to Best Buy last week, (I avoid that store like the plague). It was the only store that had what I needed. Don't know if it was me, but the security guard at the door seemed rude when I asked for help.
The sales dude seemed uninterested and condescending. Or were they? Was it just me and my anxiety?
Anyway. I'm going food shopping today, and I'm bringing my headphones and music, and this technique I mentioned. Fingers croseed.

Yea i heard its the florescent lights they use that makes it trigger, and i tried the sunglasses too which people have suggested in some research i done but that didnt help me. One thing i did notice that helps during is if i drink some orange juice, maybe its the blood sugar dropping? I dont know but i get really tired before one comes on and if i can catch it, drinking orange juice right before it goes full blown or even after seems to help. If you havent tried it see how it works maybe its in my head that it does but i could almost swear to it since it works every time. Best buy is horrible with the lighting so i avoid that store as much as possible. And i bet it was a little of both with you at the store, some employees are probably sick of all the chaos and its so hectic and stressful during this time so maybe it was them having a bad day and that all combined. When there is alot of people i feel claustrophobic and it intensifies the anxiety. Hope you do ok in the store later, hoping for the best and you dont have another. Sometimes i get multiples in a day and thats exhausting, hope today isnt like that for you and you enjoy being out the rest of the day. Let me know if that technique you mentioned helps at all next time you have to use it, hopefully not for awhile.

Also wanted to mention if you havent heard already when i went into dr one time he told me that he wanted to test my thyroid because he said that if you have problems with your thyroid it mimicks panic attack symptoms i never knew that or would even think of that but mine was fine as well as my sugar levels. Its strange but just wanted to throw that out there incase anyone needed the info, im just repeating what he said to me. Surprised me.

That is true. All of the doctors I`ve seen before thought I had thyroid issues(maybe because I am also overweight) but that was not the case. But yeah ,thyroid can give the same symptoms as anxiety/panic.

Orange juice..hmm. interesting. I can't tolerate oj, otherwise i would try it.
L-thianine works, but i didn't take it yesterday before going to that dollar store. ( because as mentioned, Yelp said mostly seniors go there, which was wrong). Or maybe there were families because of Christmas and it being a Sunday.

Thanks for all your support ladies. Sorry for the late reply, I was down and out and not even able to use the computer.
I've tried all of the recommendations listed both in the past and currently with no success. The Epley Maneuveur is for something called BPPV which was ruled out. I still do the maneuver from time to time anyway and recommend it as a first course of action should anyone experience vertigo (especially vertigo triggered by rolling over in bed etc) as BPPV can sneak in after an infection, but no such luck.
I've got an appointment with my GP and another with my ENT and she is going to give me a referral to a Neurologist because there is a chance that what I have could be actually Migraines or early onset MS symptoms. I'm taking Magnesium in the meantime which can be helpful - at least to calm my system down.
I think I am gonna get on Niteflirt and try the phone sex route while I am down and out like this since camming and all the related positions just make me spin so hard. One day at a time... all I can do right now.
Sending hugs, healing and support to all! I am so happy to have an understanding place like this to come to. Makes me feel less alone and scared.
ps. I agree, flouresent lights are the WORST invention ever. Pure evil!

Can you at least get prescriptions for things to temporarily stop the dizziness? I was hospitalized in September for severe vertigo(which was caused by birth control of all things) and they gave me stuff to stop the attacks, Zofran for the nausea and Meclizine to stop the spinning. And Valium to stop the panic. They would have me back to normal within 2 hours.
