Mine was hard when I bought it too but definitely put some in a small bowl and microwave it!! I made the mistake at first of putting it in my hair while hard and I just ended up wasting so much of the oil. Put some of it while hard in a bowl and microwave for like 20 seconds, then it's nice and warm too which is even better for your scalp. And yeah I don't think this treatment is meant to be left in your hair.. leave it in overnight and wash it out the next day. Like the girl does in the video, saturate your hair with oil completely so it looks like you just got out of the shower. So you should be putting a lot in and definitely wash it out the next day.

Well, honestly I use the African Pride brand Olive Oil (from Sally's)..it does contain coconut oil along with herbs..I find that products meant for the hair are much easier to use/wash out.
Also, I love the Shea Moisture brand oil, it contains Tahitian/ Monoi oils, & Argan oil. It's a finishing product you pump spray it on your hands, then put it on your ends.

^no I didn't think to do that, it's a good idea! I just rubbed my fingers on the oil and was able to get some in my hair but it was hard to spread, would probably be easier to do it heated up!

I was hoping it wouldn't be so greasy and I could put coconut oil in my hair daily and do that treatment once a week, but there's no way I can wash my hair everyday, it'll destroy the color and make it fade. I usually wash it every 3 days so I'll just switch back and forth between the treatments (almond oil/peppermint oil and the coconut) and take the biotin daily, hopefully that works!

I wash my hair every 3 days too but yeah you should be fine doing it every other wash!

& whirlerz I think I'll buy that next time I'm at Sally's, thanks!

I notice a difference already just from putting coconut oil in it once! After I washed it out today it feels so nice and soft. Can't wait to try and the almond/peppermint combo next!

Yea. Also check out the African Pride Braid Sheen spray..it's loaded w/herbs, peppermint, tea tree, rosemary, etc. Very refreshing/stimulating to the scalp.

Yay! Glad it's working for you! I'm doing another treatment tonight or tomorrow, can't wait! I've been getting a lot of compliments on my hair lately since I've been doing the oil treatments and taking vitamins. Never used to get so many!

You know, a bit off topic..I read in Woman's Health mag today @ library that it's really good to ingest some coconut oil too, I'm gonna look @ it again next time I go back there & post about it

^you can cook with it! Seriously it's like the most versatile product ever... my jar says I can use it as an oil when cooking, a moisturizer for my skin, and a conditioning product for my hair.

It doesn't taste very good when you eat it, though. Yes, I licked it, it smelled so good, I love coconut and I thought it might taste good, it did not and was a mistake.

I found another video that basically has the same mixture but combines the coconut oil and almond oil, so I did that and heated them up, went on a lot more easily! I put it on my hair extensions as well just for the hell of it so we'll see if that helps cause those things are broke right now...

Ya let me know if it makes them greasy or anything. I don't wear extensions anymore but I might again so that's a good thing to know. And I wonder if almond oil mixed with coconut works even better? I haven't even been doing the treatment lately I've been so lazy.. maybe I'll do it tonight though.

So the peppermint/coconut oil/almond oil combo is AWESOME! My hair feels AMAZINGLY soft and smells good (like peppermint, the smell is pretty strong tho so if you don't want custys to smell peppermint on your hair skip that part). Obviously it's too soon to really say anything about growth. It's great for the extensions as well, though I would say just do the almond oil/coconut oil combo and skip the peppermint because from what I've read peppermint stimulates the scalp for growth so obviously won't work on the extensions. But, honestly these extensions have been so ratty that they keep bunching up in the back and getting all knotted/tangled so I haven't been able to wear my hair straight, but I just threw them on today, straightened them a bit and they aren't tangling at all! The only thing is it take a TON of coconut oil, like 1/4 of my bottle, to get it all over the hair extensions, and don't do it when you will need them the next day since for using all that coconut oil you def want to leave it on for a day and then let them air dry.
