I find it funny when trolls call me names (which is very rare) Im an even bigger troll, and will troll their ass right on out my chatroom. It really does not bother me, and in fact it entertains me. You can't troll a troll... o_O

Yea that only works when they don't know your address and order you pizzas all day and call the police with made up lies.. this i know about.. as soon as you start getting smart ass with them.. that's what they do.. so i learned to ignore them.... BUT it's fun to troll them.. but I am NOT allowed to. ...(sigh)

Do i feel it right Scarlet Letter that u are somehow offended for what people wrote for u in this thread? You say u are in ur 30'es but that could mean 31 or even 39, tho u got offended for being mistaken as 40 by another member in here?! You dont seem convinced the comments u got apply to u or can help u?! Just confused here u know...

I think sometimes when people post they have good intentions but sometimes come across as harsh. I myself have done that a few times. I think we have to remember some performers are new, struggling or having other issues. We need to support each other, not make each other feel bad.

I understand ur feelings Scarlet, i know is not easy when camming money are ur only source of income & u find urself not as successful as u wanted, i think i am in the same boat, more or less, i had/ have my portion of struggle on cam sites same like success times but i was never banking, i think i am not really made for this (physically, emotionally or mentally) but i still do it (keeping my boundaries) cause where i am living this work still pays the highest in my situation.

Regarding 'tough love', just for the record, this concept was invented by people as an excuse to be able to be a little harsh towards others (for whatever reason) then saying 'oh but it's just tough love, i mean all good'. No, love is not tough, love is caring, understanding, supporting, u name it, these two words do not work together. Even if technically somebody gives amazing business advice & golden tips, the way u say things do matter a lot, is the tone that makes the music. Harsh words are not appreciated same like if the same advice were given in normal way, just my opinion, i dont direct this comment to anyone in particular but in general, also for people to try to avoid 'tough love' in the future. I mention this cause u said 'mean is mean' which i agree with.

Also, as a general matter, if u are bigger in size u look older, it happened a few times for me to give people a lot more years than their actual age (luckily i did not say the numbers out loud, i was asked & i said 'sorry, u better tell me ur age, i dont wanna mistake u', i gave him 40 in my mind while he was 22!!! a pretty large man he was; then another similar situation where he was 26 & i thought he was 40+ so yeah, being larger makes people look older. Just now i look more mature myself cause i am larger than few years ago when i was called miss at age 30, now i am called ma'am at age 39 lol, on cam i look younger & my display age is 34.

By the way, from ur sentence i dont get the thing with real age? No punctuation there to make me understand if u 33 or 38? i think u mean u had a display age other than real age? Pls if u care to clarify, thank you & good luck!

Slightly off topic but isn't so true that country music just is not sexy! I use it for comedy value...guys tip to make me stop playing it ;o)

How many top girls play country music?
How many strip clubs play country music?

Sometimes changing things up even the music changes the money you make....

I've dated one biggest country music stars in the world, still don't play his music in my cam room.

Of course, she can stick to what she is doing & not make money.

Nope, I don't sugar coat what I write. Why come here & ask for advice if others are going to tell you what you are doing is just fine when it isn't putting money in your pocket. Why ask for advice if defending what you do or having others defend it even though you might become homeless?

I make good money on cam. I constantly adapt & change my music, hustle or whatever to see what will work & what doesn't. I can tell you from experience country music does NOT...

Funny, I do sugar coat what I do write here... What I really think is maybe camming is NOT for you. Maybe you don't have the hustle it takes to make it. Saying country music doesn't sell isn't harsh.

Considering there are countless threads here on how to hustle ON how to make money. Have I ever written a single question needing advice on this site? NOPE because I did my reading & applied it, found what worked & what didn't all on my own. The advice here got me to the top of SM... I've seen many other models on this site read & apply what is written here & get to the top of SM.
y,
Did I have an edge over other models due to my fame, my body of porn work... Hell Fucking YES! Cause guess what, I put in that work for years so that any of my endeavors in adult would be successful. I did what it took, when NOBODY who was a BBW had any kind of success. I didn't bitch, I didn't cry. I made my own opportunities.

There are sooo many opportunities to make money with camming, clip stores, niteflirt & doing porn to bbw's or older ladies that DID NOT EXIST 15 years ago when I started out.

Been fucking sick all week long, but I find things to do to make money for myself. Whether it be marketing, uploading clips onto different sites. Making Gifs & stuff. There is NO EXCUSES for not being a success. Guarantee those I make my checks out to pay the bills with give a shit that I am sick. I find a way to make the most of even my down time.

I'm 41 and I find that I get lots of older guys like 60's who want a younger lady but not so young they feel pervy.

I also have an almost equal amount of younger guys into the hot teacher thing.

I'm told I don't look 40's who knows I tell guys I am and most seem turned on by it.

Trolls suck, we just have to ignore them. I just ban and move on. It can be tough but try to keep your head up.

You're pretty judging off your avatar, so I would say try different times of day and different sites. I work only in the day time on cam sites and I do well but can't make a dime at night. Most of my regs are from the UK as well. So maybe changing time of day will work.

As to music I think some of it is what guys expect you to be playing. I tend to play what I like, usually rock or trip-hop. Occasionally it's Korean pop or J-Metal, those are conversation starters for sure lol. Recently it was 1920's jazz, sometimes it's classical. Guys usually only comment on my music to say "hey I like that song" or "oh you like Pearl Jam cool". I think as long as the music isn't played super loud you can listen to whatever. I do have a playlist for cam that I use sometimes, it has Muse, NIN, Black Keys, Tricky, Morcheeba, Madonna, Bjork, Lydia Lunch, Bikini Kill in other words it varies. I say listen to what you like.

Scarlett, hope u don't get mad, but I do mean well. Don't worry about proving anyone wrong. Worry about yourself. At the end of the day, and the 1st of the month, YOU are responsible for your bills. Not the people in this thread. You have been given advice and there are thousands of threads on this forum to help anyone succeed. Times will be slow sometimes, there will be bad days. But you can still make it. If I were you, I'd just start applying the wealth of info from this website and get to making that money, and not worry about what others think. You wanna be able to prove it to yourself, not us!

There is a performer on Streamate who plays country music and her whole theme is the country girl theme. She is always on the first page and in the top row. So country music can work for you for some people. Im willing to bet most of these guys could care less what music you play.

I don't think camming isn't for someone if they are having a hard time. I do think some sites just don't work out for people for various reasons and they need to find a site that does work. Everyone has a different hustle that works for them and in time they will figure out what sells for them.

I hope you feel better soon. I swear everyone is sick right now, myself included.

Guys diss on ALL the models no matter what, if you let your insecurities get the best of you then they win.

Most of the time, most girls have bad lighting. There are many threads here & tutorials on youtube to do that cheaply. Lighting is KEY! to looking better & younger. So is a good web cam. I can easily look 15 years old with using just regular lighting & the cam on my computer. Turn on my daylight bulb with an umbrellas on each side of me, use my 920 logitech & BOOM I look hot & young again.

Sam

Sam I adore you and you are my hero. I look like Brunhilda just crawled out from under a rock with bad lighting; scary. My eyes sparkle so nice with great lighting. I think the SM encoder diggs good lighting as well. I as well followed all advice from SW, read over 200 posts (you never know where a hidden gem is - read them all if you are new) and I am now somewhere on the first 2 rows of SM consistently and I will be 38 next month.

As far as trolls in your room, this is where I let loose some aggression. I tease them back and it is fun, I don't get upset and let them knock me off my confidence mission. I am in classic chat so no one sees what they write. The other guys are like, what did he just say to you. If they say something like "You are ugly". As I laugh profusely I say something like, "Awe you don't own a mirror do you (random user name) poor thing, you have no idea how ugly you are" The dude whisks into exclusive and types "So you are up to chastise me, thank you Mistress". I have found sometimes these guys want you to belittle them. If you give in and let them get to you they win and move on. Don't poison your room.

Update: I took some time away from this forum and this thread because I needed to think and I deleted some of my posts because they were not adding to the conversation and looked like I was trying to make excuses but I felt misunderstood. I did not come here attempting to whine and cry about not making money and while my housing situation is a bit unstable at the moment I made enough to pay my bills. I do always make money on cam. If not on one site then I go to another. I came here because for the most part I'm alone in life. That is truth. No boo hoo about it, besides here I have no support about what I do. Perhaps I feel like I'm struggling and it's hard when you don't know where to go from there. It's hard for me to ask for help. If it came off as 'hey gimme pity' or 'boo hoo' well I don't know what to say although I'd like to add I have a somewhat dark sense of humor and stating 'well I'll go be homeless now' was a poor attempt at humor for me to cope. I'm very sarcastic but people on a forum don't know me but from my posts. I read, listened, and applied the advice given and thank you for ALL of it.

Don't worry. I have a weird sense of humor too and take time off from posting if I think my posts were, incomplete as far as really explaining what I meant. Heck, we have whole threads dedicated to mini-pity parties, I even started one. :-) As long as you know that the answer to your question is yes, that financial gain in camming is not age- dependent then all is well. Even the young, skinny and gorgeous have tough weeks sometimes.

As long as I get up, put on makeup and log on to everything that works (over 40 here) the money comes in one way or another.

I am a newbie, completely new to camming, I just started on Justbbw and Streamate, I am a 56 year old BB, and I have not had any bad experiences yet. Some of the guys who know I am new have been wonderful and even helpful, one in particular sensed my nervousness and he was just amazing. I get a lot that just pop in and out, some come back for a chat, the most astounding thing I have come across are the young guys ranging from 18 to 30, and so far its only been the young ones that I have gone private with. It is a bit disconcerting as I have sons around the same age group as the customers on these sites. JaneBurgess suggestion to playing up the Milf may be good advice to follow, use it to your advantage. Cheers

I don't believe age or music matters. Most people don't care how old you are, they like something about you. As for music I play Godsmack, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, etc and I always get a ton of compliments on my music. I am not even kidding how many people mention my music, I think sometimes they are there for the music. You have to be you on cam, that's what brings people back to you. Play what you want and be who you are, that's how you bank in this industry.

YEAH! I play the same type of music...Slayer, Clutch, old Black Sabbath and I have lots of guys who like it and compliment it!
