I am going in tonight on a Tuesday night! Working 4 shifts from now on, seriously. I found out Sundays are free if we work at least 3 other shifts during the week...Will definitely be taking advantage of that from now on!

So far so good. Last Sunday I did very well - felt good to have a four-figure night after so many awful summer nights. And I just started at a new club last week, only "clean" club in Detroit, and haven't had a bad night since! Although... I was hired on nights, I have to work 1 day shift per week for my first couple weeks there and my first day shift is tomorrow. Day shifts there aren't so great, so I expect it to be not-so-good, but compared to how good the night shifts and game-day shifts have been to me I can't complain!

Ok, working Tuesday was a bad idea...again. I think instead of working 4 separate shifts I am going to start working 10-12 hours on Thursdays and Saturdays. That will save $ on house fees and gas if I can pace myself and not tire out.

Oh, I need to add my other goals for the month: Talk to one customer at the bar every shift, and work farther into night shift.

I have some weird hangup about approaching guys at the bar (I think it's engrained in my head that they're sitting there because they don't want to be approached). I hate night shift but if I get used to it, it would open up the other 3 days a week for me to work after school.

Today I stayed until around 7:15 (which is not "night" by any means, but usually I leave around 5, so it was late for me!)

Well ladies it is over a week into October and I am not doing too hot. I just worked my first October shift tonight (not for lack of effort--I was sick last week and kept trying to drag my gross ass out and then thinking, however much I need the money it's not fair to be contagious around the other girls) and made $60. Least amount of money I've ever made on a shift ever. But honestly I think I was the top earner for the night (yes, it was that bad).

I need to work a day shift tomorrow at my usual club but I'm already dreading the prospect of getting up, washing the shit that needs washing, and going tomorrow. It doesn't help that I'm currently living with family nearly an hour away from my home club while I'm waiting for my new apartment to be ready. Man, that drive gets old fast. Gas money and miles on my truck. :( Plus this weekend is ACL and the UT/OU game so everyone will either be in Dallas at the game or getting drunk/spending all their money at ACL with nothing left over for us strippers. This fucking town and its fucking events and festivals that always just seem to make life harder for everyone who actually lives here.

So far, I worked one shift on Sunday and made my weekly goal.

I have been lazy, but my work week starts tomorrow. I'm going to work a double. I am planning on making my weekly goal tomorrow and using the money I make over the weekend to pay off what I owe to the bank, get a new phone and contract, buy my Harley Quinn costume for Halloween and perhaps some furniture for my apartment. I want to put $350 into my savings by Monday since my savings goal is $1000 by the end of the month.

This month has been really good so far, I've been meeting my $ goals and have made it in to work about an hour earlier than usual and I'm really starting to see a difference from that. I've also started writing down my income before and after tipout and a little bit about each shift. What sales were like, what did I sell, what was I pitching, did I upsell, what hairstyle outfit and makeup look I was sporting. This kind of data has been super helpful to me. It's also inspired me to work hard when I'm at work, I'm really proud of my average hourly rate & I know I gotta keep it up!

Well, I decided tonight I'm going to the casino with a friend, his Army buddies and two of my dancer friends. Here's hoping I hit it big! Otherwise I'm gonna be so pissed at myself lol....

Well, October is looking up for me. Worked yesterday, and it was a good day. Working today and if I make my average I will have met my weekly goal despite my $60 Wednesday. I'll also have worked 3 days this week, which is very good for me considering my school schedule. I'm trying to make up for the week I couldn't work.

DAMN LAST NIGHT WAS GOOD - I made my goal plus double and a half. FUCK YES

I am totally ready for my next 4 in a row. Tonight's Friday of course, which is promising, tomorrow too, and I already have regulars lined up for Sunday and Monday. YAY WORK and people who like me enough to get dances all night and come back over and over!!!

I was a little bummed that a little before close the ATM stopped working so I missed out on at least $50, probably more, but it was a long-game regular who will definitely be back later this week.

This new "clean" club I'm at is treating me well. Every night has been good or at least decent and it's such a better atmosphere for me than all the extras-filled Detroit clubs. And I've been working way more this months so far than I have in a long time. I feel like I'm totally out of my hustle slump!

Ok guys so I left Foxwoods down $1200. Not fun but I only gamble with discretionary income so I never get too upset when I lose. Still thou. Off to work tonight it is thou. Trying to stick to my October goals. I have made 1/4 of my financial goal for this month so here's hoping I make at least another quarter gain.

setting a goal to have house fee before 8 pm, and start approaching customer right after i get ready. i have a habit of dragging my feet until its 9:00, thinking i have so much time..and then its too late and i end up rushing around and stressing.
i also need to walk in on fridays and do the entire weekend.
need to start cultivating regulars again.

I made a grand total of $42 dollars last night. I ended up just tipping it to the DJ. My girl and I finally got a guy into CR and then he started a huge scene when the waitress came to charge him. Mind you we had clearly told him how much it was gonna be. He was just oh so shocked at the price (rolling my eyes). I ended up doing a couple dances with a wheelchair custy of mine and his girlfriend. This was at the very end of the night so I couldn't try to upsell them to CR. Was gonna work tonight but I have a long day at the fair tomorrow and then casino in the evening so just gonna rest and enjoy the rainy weather with a nice bowl of beef soup.

I did better on Thursday than Friday, definitely not as much as I wanted to for a Friday. I spent the first half of my night in the dressing room because there were way more girls than customers. By 11 we hit the tipping point and by 12 I finally started actually making money. Then we closed at 2 :/

Working tonight, expecting about the same as last night. I took weekends off for awhile and now I'm remembering why.

My first week of the month I did NOT meet my weeky goal.

I made it half way to my monthly goal today on day shift! I did so good today that I'm super motivated now and want to go in all next week. Too bad my day job keeps me from that.

I'm three shifts into my October as well, and I just need 4 more shifts making my average each shift to meet my financial goal for the month. It's very doable, especially as I'm expecting a big Halloween (hopefully pulling a double then). My next shift will be Tuesday, then Saturday, then the 23rd and 24th, then the 30th and 31st. If I make it in all of those days I have to average much below my typical average to make my goal, so I'm optimistic. Next month I hope to increase my goal by a lot, so I hope it will be easy to make this goal.

So finished off last week with 60 dances/5 days. Club was much slower than expected, however they are $35 dances that we keep $20 of, so it adds up quickly. With stage pay and tips I definitely surpassed my minimum goal for the week. Unsure of exactly what I made off stage because the bank is closed today (Canadian Thanksgiving) and I don't feel like counting all of this without the change machine:

http://i59.tinypic.com/1z6dp8z.jpg

Yes, in Alberta we throw change on stage. It's odd but at least it adds up quickly- guys feel like tossing a bunch of $1 and $2 coins is less money than throwing a big bill, so they tend to chuck more than they would if it was bills only.

Second week I went a little bit over my $$$ goal, not quite enough to bring up my first week. So I'm still short for my half-month goal. Not by much, though, and I still have two solid weeks and three "bonus days"!

Really really nervous. I set high goals and that's my standard.

Be careful with this! High goals are only good if they motivate you in a positive way. Giving myself high goals is what eventually burned me out permanently; high goals affected me negatively. I would only go in to work if I felt I could make a certain amount of money, so I rarely worked. And when I did work, I would put so much pressure on myself that it's all I could think about for days in advance, and I'd spend a full week afterwards recovering from the mental effort. The compounding effect of all of that pressure can be very tough on the brain!

Same! High goals as far as hours are great for me, but I think earnings-based goals tend to burn me out. Even if I consistently reach my earnings-based goals, for me just having them there burns me out. I've tried to focus instead on work-based goals... Like I'll show up 3 nights every week or work 7 hours every shift. Those goals seem more attainable since they're focused on my effort and not the way the club is on a particular night. That makes me feel a lot more in control of my own success:)

I needed to hear that! I think I've been beating myself up about how much money I'm making (or not making) and electing to not go in on days when I could just cause I knew I wouldn't make the money I wanted to make then. But hell, I still would've made more money than I did not going in at all.

As far as the October Challenge: I'm well over halfway to my monthly goal, thank goodness, despite not having worked a lot this month because of an illness and moving. I just want to make sure I beat what I made in September--in terms of shifts worked and money made. But I think it's a good idea to try to focus on working more shifts and hustling hard at work. Those things I can control; short of stealing dudes' wallets I can't always control how much money I make otherwise.

I am way behind on my goals this month, but was ill for most of the 1st half of the month. I felt better this week and made my goal and showed up all 4 days! Yay! Next week I'm shooting for 5 shifts.

Yes, this. I've been feeling burned out lately the way that Charlie describes sometimes, and last night I said fuck it all, my only goal was to not get emotional and leave early and I ended up having a pretty good shift!

I have been burnt out with my big club, its been slow alot lately, decided just to do my dive for now because its more steady and less stressful and shorter hours and you never leave with nothing, I will probably do another club in a few weeks but for now, I will take a extra day at the dive to make up my money, I have soo much school work, sometimes just have to be honest with yourself.

Been great for me. I've really been pushing myself. I worked 4 days straight (which I never do). After the 3rd day I was sooo tired but pushed myself to work the 4th day. It all paid off, I accumulated over 4 grand. Got bruises from stage/pole work and slept ALL day today. But it was worth it and I'm proud of myself!

Third week totals better than second week totals and now I'm making up for my bad first week (basically only worked 3 shifts, have worked 5 a week since). By my calculation I don't even have to make my week goal next week to make my monthly challenge goal and I still have the full week plus three bonus days.

I definitely am getting excited and will enjoy my two days off before I hustle the shit out of next week

Thanks Charlie- I feel like this is super useful advice, and noticed I'd been doing something similar. I have a really low ceiling club but on certain nights I could make triple the norm or more if I busted my ass for every minute. If I only made double I'd end up disappointed and exhausted. If I wasn't able to work that particular shift it would throw my finances for a loop. Lately I've been trying to go slow and steady- be grateful to make a normal person's week worth of wages in five or ten hours, take the pressure off of high energy nights by picking a couple mellow evenings where I love the DJ or manager on shift, and generally enjoy myself more so going in isn't such a daunting task.
