I got lucky and found some ice cream in the freezer! hahah The pain is manageable but it's just starting to get irritating. It's okay if I'm laying down doing nothing/watching tv/surfing the net but if I get up and try to walk around it hurts. I dont want to run a marathon, I just want to be able to get a glass of water without feeling like my chest is about to burst open! lol! I really really hope the pain goes away by the end of the week because I'm fed up

Pain is still there but has been manageable with meds. Although today is much more painful. I don't know why. I can only sleep sitting upright right now and it's annoying. If I lie down on my back (even with pillows propping me up a bit) my boobs start to hurt a lot, especially in the middle.

If you are still having a lot of pain today call your doctor. I think it's a good idea to let them know and see what the doctor or nurse says. It sounds like nothing is wrong. But I've learned from having a lot of surgeries it's best to air on the side of caution. And call the doctor if the pain is ongoing.

I was wondering because this doctor is obviously good. Are there Americans that get there boobs done by him ? And much much does he charge for a breast augmentation?

Tbh the pain is bearable/almost non existent when I'm resting. I think it might be because I had a rough night last night and this strap is killing me.
If it gets worse I will contact them.
I paid £2800 ($4151) for the BA and then I had to pay for the flights, hotels, transfers etc.
Oh and it's hilarious because I'm staying with my stepdad and so far he hasn't noticed, and if he has, he hasn't said anything. I've just been wearing a baggy hoodie. Yesterday we went to his mother's house for lunch and I just wore a long sleeve shirt with a sweater (of course with my surgical bra and strap) and she even said "aw I haven't seen you in ages but you look the same" hahaha

And I hope the pain gets better. When I had my breast done I didn't really have any pain. I know that was not typical.

I was in a fuckton of pain. Don't know if that helps any. Not sure if I'm a total pussy but the pain after my BA was almost worse that the pain I had after a spinal fusion. It took a solid couple weeks to feel comfortable again. I agree with Nyla though, call your doc and let him know that you're still in pain. It's best to let him know what's going on.
Funny that no one's noticed! That makes things easier.
Feel better!

I stopped taking pain killers last night to see what would happen but I'm back on it now. woke up in agony
but it's mostly the strap that's causing the pain. that and in between
but it's not unbearable or anything

I spent my first week sleeping alone sitting up on my sofa (turned 90 degrees so I could see the TV better). Even after I could walk around/prepare and eat a meal/play with the dogs/etc, I had to be upright to ignore the pain enough to sleep (even with the help of opioids).
The second week, I went back to sleeping in the big bed with my dogs and my boyfriend, but I still had to prop myself up with a few pillows.
Re-learning how to sleep on my side felt like a victory!
Recovering from any surgery sucks! How are you doing? Can you check back in?
newb2
04-02-2015, 05:06 AM
yeah I'm constantly on the sofa. it's the best set up. right in front of the tv, i can sit up at just the right angle etc
i'm going to try and sleep on my bed tonight though
most of the pain comes from my right side. the right side is also dropping slower than the left but i guess that's just because it's my dominant side?
it's also my birthday tomorrow and I'm going for dinner and a movie with my friends (i knew i wouldn't be able to do more than that or else i would have gone all out lol!) so i'm hoping im feeling up to it
im also getting another nose piercing as a little bday present to myself. i hope it's ok to do it but i guess it is?

so ive realised that the strap is causing 99% of the pain ugh
as soon as i take it off there's absolutely no pain other than a few twinges and some tightness
im getting immense back pain though which i thought was maybe from the extra weight of the implants but no it's from the goddamn strap
it's only been 10 days and i cant wait to get rid of it

^The strap is really uncomfortable and tight, it's a relief when you can take it off. But, it's worth it! As for the sleeping upright thing, I'm a month post op and I'm still sleeping upright. Wedge pillows help, you can order them off eBay.

In the information packet they gave me they talked about The Strap so I think my PS gives straps to all his patients? Just his technique I guess.
How many cc's did you get??
I tried sleeping on my bed last night for a few hours and while it didn't hurt too much (it only hurt when I got up) it was just super uncomfortable and I couldn't move without it hurting lol. So i just had to stay still on my back like i was in a coffin or something :/
I went back to the sofa after a couple of hours lol

Aw this is making me miss my surgery even though I was in a shit ton of pain too! & Yeah not everyone gets a strap. I assumed I would get one after my surgery but I just had my surgical bra with a strap thing under my boobs. I got 545 & 595 cc's if that matters. After my surgery I slept on my bed with one of those arm rest pillow things and other pillows supporting my back. I could barely move and if I waited too long to take my pain meds I would wake up in tears and could barely breath. Luckily my pain was pretty much nonexistent a week after my surgery. Your boobs do look good though OP! My BA was now 8 months ago and it's so fun watching your girls drop and take a normal shape so I'm really excited for you! There's also some things that always make me think of my recovery process too. Like my ecig for weed makes me think of it since I smoked that thing every other minute to help with the pain lol. I watched Desperate Housewives that whole week too and the first thing I had after surgery was a large oreo shake the next day so those make me think of surgery too now haha. This makes me want to get mine done again!
Have you been on the RealSelf website? I made one of those and it was fun communicating with other girls who were in the same boat and getting feedback from them. It also gave me something else to do while I was stuck in bed lol.

Hey! Yeah I go on realself and jbi!
Today was my bday and I had a day out and it was actually ok! I had to take a few breaks because my back hurts really bad sometimes so I need to sit down and lean my back on something.
My friends inspected my boobs for the first time lol and they pointed out that my underarms like towards the back there are scabs where the strap has been digging in my skin (and I've been wearing a shirt under the strap!) and also that area is super dry that my skin is peeling off! No wonder it's been itching me! My friend out some body butter on it and it feels better

I think my recovery was relatively quick because my new boobs are 2/3 the size of yours! I'm preparing myself for a much harder recovery if and when I go bigger in the future. They look great; I'm sure you'll look back in a month and regret nothing.

Thanks! I'm sure it will a better recovery. But I guess if you prepare for a harder recovery, you'll be pleasantly surprised? haha Remember I had to go from 0 to 725cc and deal with the trauma of my muscle being lifted from my ribcage. At least your pec muscles have been there, done that and only have to stretch a little bit more (I'm assuming you went under the muscle).

^^ ^ indeed, 're-do's with larger implants result in a much shorter / easier recovery period because there is far less overall tissue trauma. The breast pockets have already been created, and only need to be enlarged around the edges. Also, on a 'percentage' basis, the amount of skin stretch is typically far less as well.

Shit. Now I know I'm going bigger in a couple of years! I had 425 & 450 cc mod-plus silicone unders, and I keep visualizing what I'd look like if I'd gone with the same diameter, but HP or UHP. I wonder how many cc's that would add? I know I'll be asking at my 3-month post-op visit!

So I was an idiot and lifted up a suitcase. I thought it would be ok because it was only for a few seconds but boy was a wrong
I think I've opened the incision. I took off the bra to take a bath and the bandage was covered in blood. I cleaned it up with some anti septic liquid and put a new dressing on it
It's bleeding a tiny bit but it doesn't hurt
This is what it looks like now
http://i.imgur.com/K720ij3.jpg
I'm going to my GP on Monday since it's closed on the weekend. I also emailed my ps
Other than that my boobs are softening up nicely
Oh the area by the incision like close to my armpit is rock hard. It was like that before this and I just thought it was taking longer to soften up but now I don't know
Melonie
04-12-2015, 09:22 AM
^^^ yup, it looks like you popped a stitch. Shouldn't be a problem 'health' wise as long as you keep the area clean and use anti-septic to prevent any infection from being able to take root.
However, a blown stitch in one spot puts more strain on the adjacent stitches to either side. If you do anything to pop additional stitches, though, this could lead to bigger problems. So take it extremely easy, and figure on adding an additional week or two to your recovery time to allow for the additional healing that will now be required.

I ended up going to the ER and they said it looks ok. She put steri strips and a bandage on it
She said it doesn't look infected but gave me anti biotics just in case

I'm being very impatient! Monday will be 4 weeks post op. I'm dropping sooooo slowly! Ugh
I just arrived in Spain. My friend and I are going to holiday until Tuesday then I start work
I tried on my old bikini (which I doubled up as a work outfit) and it's so tiny! It pretty much just covers my nipples! Lol!
And they're still quite square so I try to hide them with my hair

So unfortunately it looks like my right implant hasn't dropped as it should. I emailed my doctor with this pic and he said to wait a couple more months and if it doesn't fall then he'll redo it for free. That was about a month ago. I dont think it's going to drop because it's the same. There's no hardness, no bruising so it seems like it's healed high. :(
And I'm going to Australia to live in a month so I'm going to have to wait until next year or something to come back to Europe and get it fixed idk
ugh
