I'm in with this challenge since 2014 was rather horrible. It won't really matter if I don't hit $100k as long as actually put in the effort!

We should all design something similar to this and post our own beautiful creation! Mine actually will look similar to this one im sure. Put it up in your cam room or by your camming space, mine I plan to place right behind my monitor on the wall in my cam room, so when im working I see it daily! 40127

Well, if I worked 6 days a week (or 312 of 365 days next year) and wanted to make $100,000, I'd need to make $321 per day or about $1925 per work week. That's actually super doable with the numbers I've been putting in lately and it gives me a dedicated lazy day each week.
Unfortunately, that also puts me in a higher federal tax bracket, so I'll have to ask my accountant what the 'sweet spot' is to make earning more worth it in the long term once taxes are factored in. The new IRS tax bracket for 2015 is here: http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2014/10/30/irs-announces-2015-tax-brackets-standard-deduction-amounts-and-more/. I'll need to ask my accountant where the sweet spot is, but it looks like earning $90,750 means paying $18,481.25 in taxes (assuming no deductions as a single filer, which is pretty close to true for me) and keep $72,268.75, which works out to 20.4% of my earnings going to taxes overall. At $100,000, I'd pay $21071.25 in taxes or 21.7% taxes and keep $78,928.75. It doesn't feel like getting screwed when I look at the numbers, but I'll have to ask my accountant when I see him next month if my math is right. I hire him to do my taxes for a reason!
My low goal is $80,000 next year. I think I'll make $100,000 my high goal!

I'm thinking:
Goal: 100,000 divided by 12 months = $8334 per month.
Divided $8334 by 4 weeks each month = $2084 a week divided into working 6 days a week.
That's $348 a day.
It's doable but I also do hair so it's my bad attitude that may defeat me, lol! Really gotta #stepmypussywayup ;D

I feel it's only hard if you think about it too much! I've been working 6-7 days a week and it's becoming a routine for me. If you can achieve your goals working less days then do it! I'm one of those cam girls that if I take more than two days off I'm in trouble.

so i was thinking I should raise my goal to 400 each time I cam so I would only need to work 5 days a week to get 2000 a week or I could just work all 6 days and still have some extra money. it takes like 3 to 5 hrs to get 333 6 if its slow as hell so why not stay on for the extra 67 bucks the sky is the limit after i make some body improvements i expect to make double this bc I will raise my rates even higher right now im at 6.99/7.99 my end goal is 9.99/11.99 I want my gold show goals to be higher too one day I will get there

Plus if you are making over 100,000 then you should have a good money for an accountant that know how to handle your money and make sure your not paying huge amounts of taxes by finding ways to reduce it , i,e donations, starting a foundation, starting another business, and writing off your expenses properly.
So if taxes is your biggest worry when you are making that much then its not that big of a worry at all.
For me I need $60,000 this year so I can start my other business network marketing and industry where the top leaders are making 6 and 7 figures. I am sure once I am rolling with those people they can give me tricks on how they keep the tax man happy.

I'm in..I feel like this is the year to dream big and earn bigger. My low goal for the year will be $86000 which is $240 a day over 7 days and my high goal i8s $100000 which will mean $280 a day over 7 days. Totally doable actually. I will be doing this as a gross amount, so that I can be more motivated to see the money roll in. Gonna make a new ticker as well which i will update daily.
If however I want to net $86000 then my goal will be $98000 which works out to $274 a day. Also doable.
I will be back with what I want this money to get me etc, cos I have a few goals and improvements that this money can bring me.

I have several European friends, one is a U.S. citizen now. They don't pay taxes, if you live 6 months in the U.S. & 6 months in other countries you don't have to pay taxes in any of them.
Must investigate further. :)

Whoa. I file married joint taxes, so I must withdrawal from this challenge and stick to an $85k challenge.
The rates posted in that chart do not take into account the items you will use as deductions - example - if I make 150K ( }:D ) and have 10k in expenses then my taxable income is only 140k -- and since you are self employed you can save 15% of the 150k in a S.E.P. investment ( Self Employed Pension ) that money is NOT taxed until you retire and take it out - at that time you will be in a lower tax bracket because of your age -- so another example
150k - 15% ( 22,500.00 ) in a SEP - now your taxable income is 127,500.00
write off your expenses of 10k - now your taxable income is 117,500.00
117,500.00 x .28% ( 32,900.00 ) = $84,600.00
I know camming does not have as many write offs - escorting car mileage is huge - dig for every possible deduction you can find
Dont let a tax bill stop you from making money - find a way to legally keep it from them
since this is the 100k thread
100,00.00 - 15% SEP ( 15,00.00 ) = 85,00.00
85,000.00 - 10,000.00 ( expenses/write offs /deductions ) = 75,000.00
75,00.00 x .25 ( 18,750 ) = 56,250.00 total you keep that year with 15k In YOUR RETIREMENT So 56,250 plus the 15k = 71,250.00
If you dont put anything into a SEP
100k minus 10k expenses =90k
90k x.28% ( 25,200.00 ) = 64,800.00 total you keep with NO retirement
That is a difference of 6,450 you can either pay in taxes or put it in your own retirement
MAKE THAT MONEY - just watch what you do with it
you have until March 15th to fund a SEP for 2014

Yea I had a traditional IRA and then I found out you can save more than the $5500 if you have a SEP IRA ... kinda like a 401k.. so just opened one of those at the beginning of 2014

what would be considered write offs or deductions for a camgirl? any ideas?
Based on what my accountant has said, you've got plenty. Of course, make sure you use an accountant who is a CPA (certified personal accountant) and will sign off on preparing your tax returns. That makes you less likely to get targeted for an audit because they'll back you up and it's a tax write off for next year, plus the fact that they can tell you what deductions will count.
I have no other job besides camming (100% self-employed). I pay my own health insurance and have a second room in my house that I use as my office/cam room. That means that I can write off a portion of my rent and utilities as a 'home office deduction.' I also write off my health insurance and my internet (if you split it for personal and work use, it's a percentage). Phone is also one if you have a dedicated PSO line. All technology you buy (new computer, webcam, etc.) that is 100% for camming you can write off (I just bought my new camming desktop and use it only for work, while I use my other computer for 'personal' stuff). To be clear about the technology write off option, the IRS is unlikely to care in an audit whether you can prove it's only for work use or not if the CPA said it's alright. You can, as other people mentioned, write off SEP (self employed pension) or IRA (individual retirement account) contributions towards retirement, although you will eventually have to pay taxes on them--either now or later depending on the type. In addition to writing off health insurance premiums (this only works if you have to pay for them because you or your spouse doesn't have an employer who offers to do it for you!), you can write off all co-pays for drugs, cost of appointments, etc. Licensing fees (if you have a business license) or computer repairs (mine had to go to the shop twice this year). These are all legitimate.
Harder to pull off is stuff like cosmetic procedures, gym memberships, make up, sex toys, clothing, etc. If it didn't say you bought it from a costume shop, your chances of that being a legal write-off are nearly non-existent and those write-offs are very likely to trigger an audit. Honestly, I have $3,000 of write-offs from the options I listed above and I only had camming as my sole income for 6 months last year! I will have $6,000 of legal, unquestioned write-offs by next year and that's before any sort of retirement contributions.
Save any and all receipts for rent, utilities, phone, insurance, procedures, technology and hardware, charitable contributions, retirement contributions, and so forth. If you have doubts that it's a write off, save it anyway. Your CPA can decide and--hey--if you use one this year and he/she costs $300-500, that's a 100% write off for next year that falls under the 'necessary cost of business' umbrella! If I have to pay either the IRS or someone who 'cheats' the IRS for living, I'm going to pick the guy who keeps money in his pocket by keeping it in mine every time! Plus, audit protection is pretty awesome.

yep - a SEP allows you to save 15% of your before tax income - then what ever is left is the amount you pay taxes on

At what point do you recommend getting a CPA. I usually TurboTax, but if on top of my [vanilla] income I also earn x amount of money. At what point is a CPA worth it?. $20,000? $50,000? $75,000 or $100,000+? I apologize if this has been answered in the "taxes and camming" threads. Hope you don't mind... :)

Your health insurance, internet, phone to name a few can all be use as write offs. If you purchased a computer for camming, that can also be used as write offs!
what would be considered write offs or deductions for a camgirl? any ideas?

At what point do you recommend getting a CPA. I usually TurboTax, but if on top of my [vanilla] income I also earn x amount of money. At what point is a CPA worth it?. $20,000? $50,000? $75,000 or $100,000+? I apologize if this has been answered in the "taxes and camming" threads. Hope you don't mind... :)
I think it's always worth it. I used TurboTax one year and it was a massive cluster fuck in terms of missed deductions. Besides that, your chances of being audited drop substantially if you use a CPA and you won't be preparing the audit documents yourself. If you get audited, a good CPA (most of them) agree to go to audit court for you. That means you don't lose an ounce of your own time or money trying to deal with it. A good CPA won't write off anything he/she doesn't physically have a record of and isn't 100% sure is a legitimate write off. You're both self-employed as a cam model and an employee because of vanilla work, so certain write offs are going to have very odd rules that are hard to figure out if you're not a professional.
If you bring your accountant all of your 1099s and w-2s in an organized folder with all of your deductions (item, receipt, category) neatly filed, it won't take them much time to do the return for you and set up your quarterly payment plan for next year and won't cost more than $200-$400 in all likelihood. If they just have to crunch out the numbers after your stuff is organized, they're pretty cheap.
Pros to using a CPA: audit protection in the event of an audit, less likely to be audited when the IRS sees a professional signature on your return, 100% certainty that deductions will be legal, additional deductions will likely be found, can answer any of your tax questions about what deductions you're eligible for and what receipts to save for next year, and an extra write off for next year as a 'business expense.'
Cons of using a CPA: you have to tell someone what you do for a living honestly (they're required to keep your info confidential, of course) which can be embarrassing/awkward and they cost money up front. Yes, some people lie or fib, but it's better to be honest so they can do their job properly. I don't recommend visiting a CPA whose company name is 'Conservative, Religious, Stodgy Old White Men, CPA,' but you should be fine otherwise.
Pros of NOT using a CPA: totally anonymous and much cheaper, if not totally free depending on your TurboTax package of choice.
Cons of NOT using a CPA: increased chance of audit (IRS targets TurboTax users because they're more likely to make errors that mean money for the IRS), having to defend yourself in audit court (TurboTax claims you can buy audit protection, but it's shit), can't be used as a 'business expense' for a tax credit, may miss legitimate deductions or make illegitimate ones accidentally, no way to answer questions about write offs that you're unsure/unaware of.
