Does anyone on here work with crystals? I'm always reading up on this stuff and I wonder how people choose the ones that are best for them. Or do yall just think it's a rock don't be so weird it doesnt do anything?? Lol I'm fascinated with all things mystical
In this class I'm taking part in this year, one of the things this woman is having everyone do is drink "crystal water" every day. Which basically means picking a stone or crystal that corresponds to something you want to focus on and putting it in the bottom of your drinking glass for the day. I pretty much chose my stones just by looking up what they meant or specifically looking for "crystals that help with _____" and getting those. I pretty much just pick the one for the day depending on what I need to focus on that day.
Now, do I think that the rocks themselves are "infusing" my water with magical powers and changing my body chemistry when I drink it? No. But do I think that you are much more likely to attract and manifest into your life the things that you're focusing your energy on? Absolutely. And if I'm thinking "calm down, breathe, don't be so stressed and depressed" every time I take a drink of water and see my amethyst in there, then I'm much more likely to stay relatively calm throughout the day.
I thought it was super hippy-dippy when she first told us she wanted us to do this every day, but I've actually come to really enjoy it.
*Word of warning: it was pointed out to us a couple weeks after we started that there are certain stones you should not put in your drinking water because of what they contain. So if you go with this practice, check to make sure. Lists of "unsafe" stones are pretty easy to google.

I get a lot of good vibes/calmness from wearing certain stones on jewelry. I used to not pay attention to that but now the beauty & color has a positive effect on me.

So would you say it's more the act of consciously making an effort to relax yourself that helps rather than the actual rocks? Or do certain rocks help magnify a specific feeling or energy? I only have some rose quartz and smoky quartz because someone told me they will help with absorbing excess radiation. I think that has been more of a placebo for me than anything
I found an interesting youtuber that talks along these topics a lot and its very interesting to hear how other people think and that it works for them, makes me want to try more things too

Yeah, I think it's more the fact that every time I see a certain stone or rock, what it stands for and what it "helps" with is instantly at the forefront of my mind, and the entire time I'm taking a drink of water, it's the perfect time to focus on that feeling filling you up. And what you focus on will be in your life more - until such a point that you might automatically calm down or think a different way about a situation just by virtue of it becoming habit. But the rocks that I'm putting in my drinking water, I feel like they're so small, nothing about them would truly physically affect me that much. It's more a placebo effect, like you said.
But I know some people do it because they really do believe more in the side of rocks and stones having certain magical properties that influence them when they infuse their drinking water with it. I personally don't buy that, but if it's helping them, what's the harm either way?

Can one of you whip up a love spell for me? :)

^^haha, I think with love spells, the one casting the spell has to have a piece of your hair, or at least know what you look like or have you present for the spell. Otherwise, it's a completely random spell, like trying to take a shot in the dark. Also, the one casting would need to know about the one who you seek love from.

We don't do that-or anything else-for free.

Thread Jack- Victoria's Secret Lovespell is awesome.
Back to spells and "energy"....I think that certain people use certain "aids" for spiritual power better. I love my jewelry and Tarot. Other people like stones and yoga. I also do a lot of dream therapy- I have had some creepy-strange predictions and premonitions come from dreams and repeating dreams...
ETA- the older I get the more I love Asian culture, medicine and philosophy...

When I see some of you ladies say that, it makes me feel sad for you. Maybe you said that in jest like I did with my love spell remark. But, some of my most rewarding life experiences have come through volunteering. Money isn't everything.

There is also nothing wrong with loving money.
Anyway, yes, I believe in anything that does with spiritual energy and if it borders into the paranormal then so be it...there is just too much unexplained phenomena in the universe to not believe in vibrational energies. How does one explain those crazy coincidences, ghosts, intuition, Bach flower remedies, essential oils, homeopathy, acupuncture etc. and the fact that some doctors can't explain why certain drugs work the way they do or how astrophysicists still call it 'dark matter'. Science is SO limited. Most of science is based in materials and classical mechanics but they leave out SO much.
I think we have a lot more control over our own energies than we believe. Those that have harnessed this belief are the psychics, the schizos, the 'mentally unstable'. It's really about maintaining a balance between what society believes is real eg. aging, law of gravity etc. and what you know to believe eg. law of attraction, magic, flying yogi's etc.

Sort of.
I can tell you that my best friend used to regularly suffer from sleep paralysis. I went to this store that has a whole bunch of spiritual-type stuff (tarot cards, crystals, herbs, etc) and I went over to the herb section, each plant had a list of things that it helps. I found one that was supposed to help with my friend's sleep paralysis (I think they were Lotus leaves but I don't recall, really) and she was supposed to put the bag under her pillow while she slept. She did, and her sleep paralysis stopped.

I volunteer, I donate money as well-I just don't do free stuff for customers. You're on a support site for sex workers-who do sorta work for money. Not gonna thread jack an important topic like this. Anyway OP-as far as protection goes, fire really amplifies the strength of anything you do. I can recommend a few recipes for free, but if you want something really intricate, there's supplies that can only be bought on line. They're really only something to be used if your life is in danger, so please tread lightly. For those interested, a bless the world spell usually increases morale and earnings at work. You can PM me for instructions, but any good witch site will have a generic version that takes two minutes.

^^I love fire- it's both destructive and purifying at once. And your "bless the world" spell is something similar to what I do alot. I just have to work on maintaining positivity. Stress in life can poison one's majick, so it's important to be careful and focused when you begin. First step should be purging. Second step is purification. Then you perform your spell. :)
